Question: What is the difference between the revelation of the Creator to a person, when we see the Creator behind each friend, and the fact that we look at the holy Shechina?

Answer: The difference is that if we want to get closer to the Creator, to His qualities, the quality of bestowal, connection, and love, then we cannot think about anything else. We must put everything on the rails, except what is necessary.

Necessities include caring for children and so on. And all the most important things we have in our souls should be directed to the Creator and connected with Him.

Question: What is the difference between directing yourself to the Creator or directing yourself to the observation of the Shechina?

Answer: Directing yourself to the Creator means to be only on the path to this. But seeing the Shechina or connecting with it is already reaching complete connection with the Creator.

Question: But the connection of the souls of Israel is the Shechina. Is this what we are yearning for? When we say that we want to unite, it is as if we want to see the Shechina between us.

Answer: Yes, of course. But that is the goal. This is not yet the desire we should be in.

Question: Then what should be the desire if the ultimate goal is to connect to Shechina for the sake of the Creator. Where is the Creator?

Answer: The Creator is reached through the connection between us, when we prefer to be connected with Him and with nothing else. This is the path to the Creator.

Question: What is a Partzuf?

Answer: A Partzuf is a spiritual object that receives light for the sake of giving to the Creator and consists of three parts: Rosh, Toch, and Sof (head, trunk, and legs).

The head (Rosh) performs the function of receiving the upper light, feeling it, and figuring out how to work with it in order to receive it for the sake of bestowal, in the likeness of light. After that, the enjoyment of light passes from the head into the body (Toch) of the Partzuf and is felt there.

What the Partzuf cannot accept into the body is blocked by it for receiving, and empty desires remain from the waist and below (Sof), which cannot be filled for the sake of the Creator’s pleasure.

Question: In principle, we are talking about desires. Is the Partzuf a desire that is in every person, or is it a common desire of all mankind?

Answer: Both this and that. In general, we all represent the whole of humanity as one Partzuf. On the other hand, each of us and each part of us is also divided into Partzufim.

Just like in our world, if I see some type of pleasure, I automatically scroll through options in my head on how to optimally enjoy it. As I accept it, I feel this pleasure in myself. And there is still some part that I cannot accept for some reason. It is only in the spiritual that all pleasures are determined in relation to the Creator.

Question: Rabash writes that a person changes several times to a state where he sees that he is not able to give more force and wants to escape from spiritual work. Why do I have to go through the state of wanting to escape many times?

Answer: It is because our egoism is layered. While a person convinces himself that he must change, many actions take place over him for a long time.

Question: How does one withstand and not run away? Is this due to the strengthening of the ten or oneself?

Answer: Oneself and mostly the ten.

Question: It is easy to feel shame in our world. Why is it so hard to feel it about the Creator?

Answer: The fact is that we do not feel the Creator and do not imagine Him, and that is why it is difficult for us to feel what He feels, what He has from us, and what we receive from Him. For us, this is all a closed account. Therefore, our state is called concealment.

Question: You can still feel shame about the group because we get a lot from it. But is it difficult to imagine that the Creator is behind the group?

Answer: When you begin to come closer to the group, then you will start to feel the Creator behind it. To feel Him, one must strive with all one’s soul to connect with the group.

Question: What does the author call a blessing at the beginning and at the end, and how does this relate to the structure of the prayer?

Answer: We bless the Creator for gradually revealing all our mistakes and shortcomings and then thank Him for correcting these mistakes. That is how we go through all our desires and all the corrections.

We thank the Creator for the shortcomings He initially created in us and for the steps we take to correct these shortcomings. And so we move forward.

When we bless the Creator, we raise Him above ourselves more and more and thus can call upon ourselves even greater light.

One must know in one’s heart that the Creator chases him just as much as he chases the Creator. One must never forget that, even during the greatest longing. When remembering that the Creator misses and chases him to cling to him as intensely as one wishes for it himself, he then always goes from strength to strength, with yearning and longing, in a never-ending Zivug [coupling], the complete perfection of the soul, until he is rewarded with repentance from love (Baal HaSulam, Letter No. 19).

Question: It is so poetically written here that he then always goes from strength to strength, with yearning and longing, in a never-ending Zivug. How can one reach such a high state?

Answer: If a person constantly directs himself toward greater connection with the Creator, by striving to feel it, he gradually begins to sense it. Continuous merging (Zivug) is when you constantly desire to be connected with the Creator and direct your sensations toward knowing Him. And thus, you move toward Him.

Question: Do true Kabbalists direct all their sensations, everything that happens to them throughout the day, toward the Creator and connect with Him through this?

Answer: Certainly. Is there anyone else besides the Creator? He is the root of everything, and a person directs himself toward Him.

Question: How do they not lose this focus on the Creator?

Answer: Through their own effort and personal prayer.

Question: Why, when a friend has some trouble, does resistance arise in the ten to work with his Hisaron (lack)?

Answer: Because this is not your own need, but supposedly someone else’s. The Creator deliberately burdens your hearts so that you overcome this.

Question: Does the Creator, by this, want to show that the friend himself, in prayer to Him, will feel the strength to rise and unite all friends?

Answer: No, the friend himself cannot do anything. He can only raise a prayer to the Creator and ask Him.
