Use the Opportunity to Correct

235Question: We are the consequences of the Creator’s program; He created us with the will to receive. It is programmed in the light itself. Are we to blame for this?

Answer: Nobody blames you. You are just inside nature.

Question: What does nature want from us?

Answer: Nature does not want anything. It offers you a correct, normal, balanced, one might say ideal life, an ideal existence. But only if you follow its integral law.

Question: I do follow the law. I was created with the will to receive, so I receive for my own sake, right?

Answer: No! This is not enough. You must think about others because you are in the same system with them.

Comment: But I was created that way, I cannot think about others.

My Response: Here you must add your own awareness. It will raise you to the level of the Creator.

At some stage of development, you get the opportunity to rise and to realize what system you are in. If you fulfill the conditions of the balance of this system, receiving and bestowing, then you will begin to feel its general character, that is, the Creator.

Question: Does it mean that I was created opposite to the light only to realize this and want to change myself on my own?

Answer: Yes. This opportunity exists for every creature.

All Movements Are Inside a Person

145Question: If, according to Kabbalah, time, motion, and space do not exist, what actually happens when it seems to a person that he is walking around the city or going somewhere? After all, he is moving.

Let’s say a Kabbalist leaves for London to visit his students. Does it actually change his state? What is happening with respect to them and with respect to him?

Answer: Physical movement means internal, vector movement in qualities. Therefore, coming to London, a person feels differently, perceives everything a little differently, and treats everything differently. This is called “moving to London.” There is no movement, except inside, in your feelings.

Comment: But when you go to another country, you fly by plane.

My Response: So what? Who cares? An airplane is a manifestation of our egoistic desires, which have developed and manifested in this way.

Question: Is there any place that removes or brings a person closer to his essence? Where should he be? For example, someone lives in Chicago, someone else in China.

Answer: Of course, there is a difference in where a person lives. We see that in our world, there is a huge difference.

Question: What is the difference between my being there and here? What is changing? Let’s say I go to the airport, get on a plane, and fly somewhere.

Answer: You land, and immediately you are completely different. A change in the internal state of a person takes place.

There are people who do not feel these movements, because for them it does not matter where they are. And there are people who do not take it well. The Kabbalist moves everything inside himself.

If I go somewhere with a group of students, I hardly feel where I am. Of course there are different languages and everything else, but it practically does not change anything. I sit with my students in Rome, in Madrid, in South America, no matter where, and I do not feel the difference. But in the country where I live, if I give lectures to an outside audience, I feel different.

It is better for me to give classes for our Italian or Spanish groups while there than to give a lecture to strangers in Israel. After all, my students, Italians, Spaniards, and others, are much closer to me. While being among them, it is as if I do not go anywhere. They understand me, but locals, outsiders do not.

Question: But when you fly somewhere, are you completely different?

Answer: No. Each time it feels less and less, that when approaching them, I speak differently. Now this is gradually disappearing because very similar social, economic, and group processes are taking place everywhere, we are all studying the same thing.

Before, I was a little different with them because their groups were young and new, and I talked to them as if they were people who were not yet aware of our methodology.

Now I can speak to them in exactly the same language. After all, they are present at all our lessons and meals. They read my blog translated into their own language, which means they are in continuous communication with us and with me. Therefore, I am the same with them as I am with my students in Israel.

The Force that Corrects the Connection Between Us

275Comment: You once said that we are not correcting ourselves, but we are correcting the connection between us.

My Response: Yes, of course. A person corrects not himself, but his attitude toward others and his connection with them.

Question: But everyone has their own qualities. How is our connection being corrected?

Answer: By merging with nature. You can be properly connected with others only if you wish to rise to the next degree of development, to the common force of nature.

You cannot connect with someone unless you acquire the force that holds the whole universe, unites all its parts and laws, and contains all the opposing forces.

This force is the global law of the universe, the balance and the connection of all forces. Einstein was so eager to find its formula, its manifestation. Naturally, he could not do this, because he was engaged in research at the level of inanimate matter. However for this, the vegetative, animate, and, especially, the human level is necessary.

Therefore, physicists today also do not succeed, although there are many theories close to it. They feel both the necessity and the need for it.

But the most important is the need, at any level of our correction, to pursue one common goal: to come to unity, to connect, so that the common force of nature supports us, manifests itself between us, and connects us.

Then we will really achieve unity because nature has this quality. It controls everything that exists—what we see and what we have not yet discovered.

The fact is that this single force is somehow relatively manifested at the inanimate, vegetative, and animate levels, but not at the human level because we ourselves must summon it, we ourselves must wish and understand where we lack it, and then it will fill all the voids between us.

When I discover that the right relationship is needed between you and me, then to the extent that we determine how much we need it, the force of nature that binds us will gradually open up and realize this connection.

What Are We Enjoying For?

608.02Question: Does contact with the Creator always run through the prism of humanity? What is the difference in what I feel now, how I give to people, receive from them, and naturally enjoy in one form or another?

Answer: That is where the problem is. What are you enjoying for?

Question: For my own sake, of course. Is that why I do not feel the light of Hassadim or the light of Hochma?

Answer: Yes, precisely because in your manipulations with anyone you pursue only your own goal, your own well-being.

Consciously or unconsciously, the calculation always proceeds from the fact that you will benefit from this action. And if you get out of this restrictive framework, you will begin to feel what you are doing.

And then, behind all humanity, behind all the people from whom you receive and to whom you give, you will see the higher force. If you just give without receiving anything in return, then it will be the light of Hassadim. And if you receive for the sake of giving, the light of Hochma.

Where Does Anti-Semitism Come From?

533.02Question: You write that the concept of sacrifice was revealed after the consecutive entrances into Egypt of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. “Egypt” in Hebrew is Mitzraim, i.e., Mitz Ra—the concentration of evil when man enters this evil.

The people of Israel (our inner desires) made sacrifices. The Egyptians, who represent egoism, seeing how the Israelites made sacrifices and tried to unite, hated them for that. In general, our ego hates when it is sacrificed.

The question arises: can we say that this is where the root of anti-Semitism comes from?

Answer: The root of anti-Semitism comes precisely from this state, when people see that Jews interpret everything in the inner sense of the word.

For example, sacrifice means the sacrifice of our egoism. Pray is not to some God or something, but to the upper force that can reward you with the opportunity to be kind and empathetic to other people. And so on. This misunderstanding of Judaism led to the beginning of anti-Semitism.

Question: Does it mean that hatred of the quality of bestowal and love, which was cultivated by people called “Israel” who lived in Egypt at that time, in principle, caused anti-Semitism?

Answer: Yes, it is natural hatred. If I am in the qualities of reception, I just want to receive pleasure, and if I see that someone near me is trying to connect and acquire another quality, the quality of bestowal and love, I naturally hate that person.

Thus, my hatred of the qualities of bestowal and love evokes anti-Semitism.

In the Authority of the Upper Forces

232.06Question: To what extent can egoism take over a person who is on the spiritual path? How do we escape this situation?

Answer: Egoism cannot rule a person who is on a spiritual level. This means that it breaks down again, but these are extraordinary cases.

A person who is on a spiritual level is dominated by different forces. His intentions may seem egoistic to us, but in principle he does not have any intention for his own sake.

Everything works differently for him. Just as a magnet holds a piece of iron at a certain level above the ground and balances to some extent the force of gravity, it is the same here. An anti-gravitational force that already exists in a person keeps him at this height.

The decisions he makes are different from those made by anyone else living on Earth. But since he is not yet completely corrected, he makes decisions based on the extent to which he exists in the spiritual world.

And if an additional egoistic desire is added to him now, he will fall from the spiritual level and will see everything based on our world. But this is given to him precisely so that he understands that a descent has occurred.

Question: What if a person is not yet in spiritual attainment, but is already on the way?

Answer: While on the way, he feels that he has risen or fallen. That is, he feels the measure of the presence of the upper light in him as the best state of open eyes and an open mind or conversely as a fall, a descent.

Letters—The Impact of Light on Desires

526Question: Why are Yod-Hey-Vav-Hey called the name of the Creator?

Answer: The Creator is the light that depicts itself against the background of black desire. Therefore, all kinds of figures that the light draws on a black background are letters that make up the name of the Creator. Meaning, we perceive His actions in this way.

Question: Does it mean that someone felt the influence of light on their desire and thus depicted it in the form of letters or text?

Answer: Yes, this is how the Torah is written.

Offerings inside the Heart

527.02Question: In our world, sacrifices are offered to God in a certain place. Where is this place of sacrifice in spirituality?

Answer: In the heart. Nowhere else.

Question: Does it mean that the Temple is the heart?

Answer: Yes. Only.

Question: Can we conclude that previously sacrifices meant bringing people’s hearts closer to each other?

Answer: Yes, as it is said: “As one man with one heart.”

Question: And then all this disappeared somewhere, and people began to build external temples in which sacrifices were made?

Answer: In general, yes.

Question: Or should it go in parallel since we exist in two worlds?

Answer: No. It does not have to go in parallel. There is no need to build any temples at all. All this must be within the person. But people started to gradually distort it.

Even for those who study Kabbalah, it is much easier to do some external action for the sake of someone than to try to connect with them internally, with the heart. Not because it is difficult, but because it is not clear how to do it. For example, bringing someone a box of chocolates is clear, but to make offerings inside the heart is not.

It Is Better to Be at a Lower Degree but All Together

937How can you prepare yourself for the upcoming congress in the Arava so that you can be with everyone together, at its very epicenter, and not miss something very important, which will then be a thorn in your heart for many years?

If you follow the congress closely, from no matter where, then you will join it and we will all be together in the same Kli, in the same scrutinies, and in the same exercises. And in this way we will rise together.

Of course, everyone will understand this to the extent of one’s preparation. But we still have almost a month ahead of us and we can prepare so that everyone can be practically on the same level. And that means a lot.

It is better to be at a lower degree but all together, than at a higher degree with each on his own. I hope that we will integrate so that we will all be together at a certain small degree, but we will all understand each other and try to rise together. That is what is important for the congress.

So the most important thing for this congress is to be together! Not physically, but psychologically and spiritually.

It is better to be on a lower degree together than on a higher degree alone, because when I am on the same degree with the ten, I am in a spiritual Kli. And when I am on the spiritual degree alone, without a spiritual Kli, there is no guarantee that I will be able to stay there. At any moment I can fall from there.

We need to reach the end of correction at least in the ten, and then all the other tens will join. So far, there are a small number of tens at the degree of the end of correction, Rabbi Shimon’s ten and a few more. And we also want to achieve it, so we are counting on the success, not of any individual, but of at least a ten.
