Experience the “Taste” of the Light

566.01Question: Why is it that in spirituality the pleasure from the light is felt in the Peh, n the mouth, and not in the stomach?

Answer: Because the most important thing for us is to be able to stop the passage of light, to feel, determine, and evaluate it before receiving it.

Only after we have decided what we are receiving can we “chew” the light like food in our mouth, using our 32 teeth, tongue, and saliva, and allow this food to fill and be absorbed into us. In Kabbalah, this is studied in great detail.

Don’t Lose Faith

115Question: What prevents us from seeing the Creator as good and doing good, and how can we get out of lack of faith?

Answer: It is the lack of faith that interferes. You do not believe that it comes from Him, that He is good and does good. When you feel injustice and resentment, at this time and to this extent the Creator is concealed; He does not want you to accuse Him.

And when you open your heart, then He comes closer to you. It depends on you whether He will be close to you or not.

When we talk about merging with the Creator, we mean that despite all problems and adversities that the Creator sends us, we want to be in a mutual embrace with each other and with Him. As it is said: “From the love of creatures to the love of the Creator.”

If we act in this way, we will reveal the whole universe as a single system of love. I am sure that we are getting closer to this.

Turn Only to the Creator

167Spiritual work is connected only with the Creator; it is only to Him that we should turn and receive answers from. Therefore, we have no one else to look to and nothing more to expect, except help from the Creator.

But if a person has a sense of guilt and a feeling that he receives punishment for wrong thoughts, that perception also comes from the Creator. The Creator wants us to feel this way.

In this case, we do not need to ask the Creator for help dealing with these thoughts. We should ask only one thing: that He would connect us all and raise us to Himself.

Rosh HaShanah Is a New Stage of the Path

288.1Rosh HaShanah is the beginning of a new period, and we need to try to renew all our forces and most importantly the ones that are aimed at our connection so that it will be worthy of becoming a new chapter, the beginning of a new time.

The entire work of a person is to rise above the egoistic reason in which we found ourselves as the result of the sin of Adam HaRishon, that is, because of the evil inclination, which is ruling within us. It is necessary to try by all means to remain in faith above reason, as much as possible, in order for all of us to be together as one man in one heart directed to the Creator.

We need to connect with each other, grasp the Creator and not let go of Him by our prayers, requests, appeals, and hopes until we feel that we are really together with Him and we are all as one man connected with the Creator. This will be called the beginning of the year, the beginning of renewal, Rosh HaShanah.

The sin of Adam allows a person to feel the distance separating him from the Creator, which means that it gives him the opportunity to take steps toward the Creator. A person is like a baby who is just learning to walk, and therefore, adults support him, help him take the first, small, uncertain steps so a person with the help of the group can move forward and take steps toward the Creator.

A person relies on the group, each time discovering that he is not able to do anything by himself and immediately falls as soon as he is left alone. Then he rises again, as it is written: “A thousand times the righteous will fall and rise again.” This is how a person learns to go to the Creator and get closer to Him with each step.

Faith is the light that allows a person to work in order to come closer to the Creator by becoming similar to Him.

The Rosh Hashanah holiday is a renewal that applies to all created beings that are entering a new period, with new conditions in their relationship with the Creator, and therefore they can mark a new stage of the path for themselves.

Rosh HaShanah Is the Head of all Development

527.09During Rosh HaShanah there is a new revelation of the distance separating us from the Creator. Any event begins by revealing a new property that separates us from the Creator. And during the Rosh HaShanah holiday, we reach adhesion with the Creator in this property.

Therefore, Rosh HaShanah is the head of our entire development, and all the properties that are manifested in this holiday, later are revealed even more and more fully during all other holidays and special dates.

How Can I Come Closer to the Friends?

938.02Question: How do I come closer to the friends, where does it all start?

Answer: It all starts with the recognition of the need, of the fact that you definitely need to come closer to them. If you do not feel a common inner connection with them, then there is no point for you to continue your movement toward the Creator. First, you must establish a heartfelt connection with your friends, that is, the connection in the depths of your heart.

In this common heart, you aim to the Creator and want to feel Him more so that He would fill you.

From Animal Desires to Human Desires

707Question: Why did the Creator create man in an animal body?

Answer: As we develop, we learn how much the body we are in helps us achieve the goal of creation.

Question: How do I move from animal desires within myself to human desires?

Answer: The difference between them is only in your connection in the group. You are obliged to help each other in this, otherwise you will not reach any state of connection with each other and will not come to the goal of creation.

Work on the Prayer

530Question: It seems to me that my friends and I are in different time frames, and everyone feels something different. It happens that one person feels that something needs to be done right now, and the whole group feels that it needs to be done later. What is the reason for our different senses of time?

Answer: It depends on the sensitivity of the heart of each one in the group.

Question: Yesterday a friend showed me an example of true love. But I want to run away from the burning shame that I will never be able to love my friends so much. How can I work with this state?

Answer: You are now going through a very good state. It cleanses you and brings you closer to the others. You should pray for everyone, including yourself, to feel that you all are in one heart. It must come true, if not today, then tomorrow.

Nothing will happen by itself. The Creator is the only one who can help you. We need to work on the prayer.

Answer: Because they have to move forward.

Question: If you have already passed through lowliness and can be nothing, then what else can you ask the Creator for? I do not feel the need for anything anymore. “Save me!” but from what?

Answer: From the fact that you are distanced from your friends and cannot reveal the Creator in the connection between us.

Question: You always give the example of Rabbi Shimon whose disciples hated each other, but they did great work. Why would there be hatred between them?

Question: What prevents me from being honest with myself and why is it so difficult? After all, I harm myself and the ten. How can I correct this?

Answer: You are afraid to reveal that you are such an egoist. Everyone will know who you are, what you are, what thoughts you have in your head, and what desires you have in your heart. You want to embellish and hide it all. Stop worrying about it.

Question: Rabash writes that the Creator waits until one reveals what he has to do. I know what I have to do, and we have a long way to go. What do we need to worry about?

Answer: You only need to worry about the fact that when you connect with each other, you cannot experience love for the Creator.
