The Creator Is Waiting for Us at the End of the Road

934Advice to a person who has begun to study the wisdom of Kabbalah: “Do anything you want, just do not leave!” Do not leave the group, this society, this place where the Creator brought you from the very beginning and said: “This is your destiny! Here you can advance. You have been given this place, and I will wait for you at the end of the road.”

This is how you need to treat this opportunity given by the Creator, and it is very important to stick to this path and hold on to this environment as much as possible. I know from my own experience that sometimes a student has a burning desire to run away, to give up everything, but there is no choice, one must try to hold on.

Moving to another group or another ten is a big problem. After all, the environment has already made room for this person, and now one is obliged to fill it. The ten must work on him and connect him with itself, like an organ with a body.

We know how complex and dangerous an organ transplantation is, and what complex preparatory work and subsequent rehabilitation it requires until the foreign organ takes root and starts working like a native one. The same thing happens to a person when changing tens.

The Creator organizes the ten and the best conditions for advancement for us. But we think that we can change it as we want. Of course, in our egoistic perception of reality, we see it in this way. But in fact, this is wrong. We must take this very seriously.

I do not know now whether this will be a strict condition until the very end of the correction because before us there are stages that no group in this world has ever gone through. But for now, we must try to tie ourselves to the ten in such a way that the departure of any friend feels like the cutting off of an organ from the body.

The Creator’s Demand

530Question: The Creator demands us only to unite. How can we check in the ten whether we have achieved unity?

Answer: Checking for this happens when you feel the same opinions, desires, and aspirations when communicating with each other.

Then it follows that you work as if out of one common heart.

Question: In order for our prayer to be accepted, do we all have to realize in the mind of the heart that we cannot unite?

Answer: The Creator shows us this. We should strive to unite, as if we are speaking from a common heart, from a common desire, from a common intention, but at the same time, we will feel some difference between us. The Creator does this to bring us closer and closer together.

From the Unity of Hearts

938.02Question: When we rise above evil, do we not just cover it up because we need to ascend to the point of love. What is this feeling?

Answer: Do you want me to convey feelings to you?! How is that possible?!

Question: But what kind of love is this?

Answer: It is impossible to convey. It is a feeling that arises from the inner unity of hearts.

Question: Then, how do we rise above evil, overcome it, and transform it into love?

Answer: Unite the hearts.

Spiritual Attainment Is the Truth

231.01Question: It is said: “Do not believe in yourself until the day you die.” How can a person be sure that he has attained this or that degree?

Answer: When a person attains spirituality, one does not doubt that it is the truth and that only it has the right to exist.

Attainment speaks about the revelation of the truth, that this is exactly what exists.

Question: How does confidence in attaining a degree differ from our usual opinions and feelings, which change rapidly under the influence of the environment?

Answer: Any spiritual realization is true and unchangeable Even when it is replaced by other attainments, in itself it has the right to exist, and it remains.

The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil

88Question: What is the sin of the Tree of Knowledge?

Answer: The Tree of Knowledge of good and evil is our entire nature, which consists of good and evil forces that distance, push us apart, unite us, and bring us closer.

The system of interaction of these two opposing forces is the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil.

In Kabbalah, good means coming closer to each other when you wish others well, and evil is separation, when you move away from others and do not want to help them in their correction. And all this is determined regarding the whole of humanity.

Questions about Spiritual Work—61

504Question: You said that the attainment of true reality is the attainment of spirituality. Is there a concept of an imaginary spiritual reality?

Answer: If it is imaginary, then it is not real.

Question: When we read about the righteous in the lessons, feel the state they were in, and thank them that such information comes through them, can we say that we are at some degree of spiritual attainment?

Answer: No. That is not yet a degree, but this is a preparatory state.

Question: I see my flaws in my friends. Does it mean that by praying for them I ask the Creator to correct me?

Answer: Yes, because you cannot ask for yourself since you are an egoist, but you can ask for your friends.

Question: At each degree, the main thing is faith above reason, which elevates us. But we must also desire the revelation of the Creator. Do these two desires—to reveal the Creator and go by faith above reason—not cancel each other?

Answer: No, they do not cancel each other. You will see how much faith above reason opens your eyes.

Question: By gaining experience from mistakes that do not lead to connection and bestowal, we develop some skill of how to avoid mistakes. Can this be called preliminary attainment, or is this some kind of psychological level of correction?

Answer: No, you should just rely on integrating with the group, and then, together with the group, your mistakes will be minimal.

Good Envy

547.03Question: Can envy harm a person on our spiritual path? In the corporeal world envy is very harmful. How can one envy you and friends in the correct way?

Answer: Envy is both a very good and a very bad property. It depends on how you use it. If envy encourages you, makes you advance fast and help others, then it is good envy. Use it.

Question: Still, how can one not do harm and how can one restrict the desire to envy so as not to corrupt a person’s path and life?

Answer: Envy in a way that you adopt good properties from your friends and use them for connection with them.

A Thousand Creators or One?

610.2Question: There is a Creator on whom everything depends. There is a Creator whom we must know and feel after uniting in a group. And there is also a Creator who is inside a person. Is it all one Creator or different upper forces, each with its own purpose and potential?

Answer: We can count a thousand so-called Creators, but all these are His actions, not Himself.

There are no upper forces except the Creator. Everything that seems to be forces acting on us arises only to mislead us. There is no one besides Him.

Common Shape, Different Perception

928A real place in spirituality is called “the place of reality” since anyone who comes there to that place sees the same shape as the other (Baal HaSulam, Shamati 98 “Spirituality Is Called That Which Will Never Be Lost”).

Comment: The article says that everyone who comes to this place sees the same form as the other. But we recently talked about the fact that everyone feels everything individually, in their own way.

My Response: It doesn’t matter. Just like in our world what you feel, you perceive individually. But, in principle, it is open to everyone.

Question: Let’s say we all see the table, does everyone experience it differently?

Answer: Of course in one’s own way, but we still perceive the same object. That is why it is said that there are 70 expressions. For each level, there are 70 faces of the Torah.

Common Soul—A System of Desires

75.01The common soul Adam  HaRishon represents all of humanity, and its particles exist in each of us.

It is written that Adam’s soul was notionally divided into 600,000 souls. If earlier the world’s population was one million people, today it is eight billion. And this division can continue indefinitely.

From the point of view of Kabbalah, the common soul is a system of desires. In our world, desires are graded as follows: food, sex, family, wealth, honor, power, and knowledge. The totality of all desires from the smallest to the largest in Kabbalah is called the system of Adam HaRishon.

Every person has some part of the common soul, and everyone must take care to correct it from being egoistic to altruistic.
