Every Miracle Has an Explanation at the Level of Matter

525Question: Can a Kabbalist be a scoundrel?

Answer: This cannot be because he clearly sees the qualities of the Creator and is a part of Him.

But how can you think that a person is capable of performing miracles? What miracles do you want? Like little children, I want this to happen! If there is some mechanism inside the object, you press a button and show the child the so-called “miracle.” He opens his mouth because he does not understand the connection between the button and what happened.

We are all in exactly the same state.

I remember how I was once sitting in an airport in the north of Russia. Some Chukchi (a member of an Indigenous people of extreme northeastern Siberia) was passing by, and at that moment, the door of a box that measures the air temperature suddenly opened. You know, there is such a device. There is a box on a column in which there are barometers, thermometers, and other measuring devices. A motor (selsyn) automatically opens the door of the box so that air enters, and the devices measure it. Then the box closes until the next measurement.

When the Chukchi saw this, he almost fell. You should have seen his face. I thought: “Well, now a new god is being born before him.” For him, naturally, it is a miracle. Suddenly a door opens…

It is the same with us. We all wait for such phenomena, behind which stand these selsyns that open and close doors.

Intention Changes Reality

131We do not realize how much our attitude toward the world improves it! Only now are physicists discovering that the results of their experiments with matter depend on the experimenter and their attitude. Only now are we discovering that even a plant feels how I relate to it.

We do not understand that it is precisely our attitude, meaning, our intention, that changes all of reality. We do not see it because we do not see the results. And we do not see intentions, we cannot clarify them, see them, or measure them. That is the problem.

Nevertheless, this alone operates in the universe; matter is brought into motion specifically by the attitude toward it. What is a matter by itself for? It cannot generate any movement on its own.

Therefore, when speaking about how we should appear before the rest of the world, it should not be at all as if we are actively involved in politics, economics, security, or anything of the sort.

Our involvement is solely in education, spreading this knowledge and bringing everyone who desires it to the right attitude toward reality, nature, and the world in which they live.

The Holiday of Giving of the Torah

715There is no greater holiday than the holiday of receiving the Torah. After all, if not for the Torah, we would only lead an animal existence “for as long as the world turns.”

But we have the opportunity to use the upper force, and with its help to leap into a higher dimension, to continue our existence, to live in the spiritual dimension.

From this world, this reality we are experiencing now, we can smoothly transition into a new state, into another world, a dimension that has nothing to do with planet Earth and this universe.

We can reveal ourselves as existing in the form of eternal, perfect, complete harmony, without the limitations of the material world.

With the help of the upper force, a passage will open for us from our world, from this flawed life, to a perfect existence.

The means of transition from our dimension to a higher one is called “Torah,” a special force that gradually changes us to a new state; and to the extent of our change, we smoothly transition into it, until all our earthly, i.e., all our egoistic properties are replaced by spiritual, altruistic ones.

A person receives the opportunity to move on to an eternal and perfect existence. Therefore, getting this opportunity is the most important event in our lives, a true holiday!

Within the Creator’s Thought

294.2There is nothing but one thought—the thought of creation, which includes everything. Only we, the creations, do not yet understand or feel this. But we are within this design and are governed by it. All our work takes place within it. This thought is the entire creation, its design, and there is nothing else besides it.

“Everything is resolved in thought,” and everything was created by thought. There is no matter; all of reality is encompassed in thought. Interestingly, modern scientists, being absolute materialists, say that the universe is thought. And researchers of the human brain claim that all our thoughts, desires, and decisions exist outside the person and the brain is merely an instrument that detects this thought and transmits it to us.

Thus, science is gradually approaching the fact that Kabbalists discovered long ago, that there is nothing in existence but the Creator’s design, and we exist within it. And although we divide reality into forces, matter, feelings, and intellect, in essence, only the Creator’s thought operates, and we exist within it.

We need to attain this thought of the Creator’s regarding creation, and then we will know Him, not He Himself, but His attitude toward creation. There is only this one thought. And all the various opposite qualities that we perceive are meant to reveal the depth and uniqueness of this thought.

There is none else besides Him, but we attain this fact from the reverse side, through the multitude of actions and manifestations of the Creator toward us, which are very diverse and contradictory.

And it is precisely all these paradoxes and contradictions, which do not allow us to understand or accept what is happening, that push us toward such development that, above knowledge and by uniting all opposites, we attain the Creator. It is impossible to attain Him in any other way than through two opposites that merge and complement one another.

The Kabbalist Beyond the Body

538Question: When a Kabbalist transitions to another dimension, can he observe what is happening in this world without his body; meaning, can he observe the process from the side and influence it?

Answer: Naturally! But not in the form of bodies, but in the form of forces.
You see bodies. For example, right now you see me on your computer screen. But what if you could see me, not on the screen, but inside the hard drive? That is where all the information is!

Why do you need to look at the monitor at all? Look straight at the hard drive! That is all. Why do you need five senses? Why do you need these “casings and coverings”? Inside the electrons, that is where the upper spiritual life is. That is how a Kabbalist sees.

There is a complete picture, and it is all in spirituality. Our world is included within spirituality.

For example, when we talk about small children, we speak about their desires, efforts, and qualities and not their outer appearance. We speak from the level at which they are relevant to us, the level on which they connect with us.

So all the attributes of our world are completely absent in the spiritual world. In the spiritual world, we perceive only egoistic forces.

Comment: But on the other hand, you always bring the spiritual world down to the level of our world.

My Response: That is because there is no real difference! The only difference is in how a person perceives: one sees this way, another sees that way. But the worlds themselves, they do not exist.

Question: Right now, we are speaking through a screen, not telepathically. We are communicating, and this information is somehow reaching others. Why must it be this way?

Answer: So that we understand the necessity of the connection between us and begin to truly want to unite!

Revelation in Feelings

525Comment: I have always viewed the world through reason and logic. But today, during the gathering of friends, I began to feel many things through emotions, and I thought I was going crazy. On the one hand I want to hold on to this feeling that I experienced at the convention, but on the other hand, I am afraid of what might happen next.

My Response: While listening to you, I was reminded of myself. I also used to perceive the world only through laws. I am still like that, that is how I was made. I need to see the system, its laws, how it is laid out clearly, where the input is, where the output is, the formula by which it operates, the interferences, their regulation, etc. That is my nature.

When I began studying Kabbalah I was also focused only on the system. Before coming to RABASH, I had been studying Kabbalah for four years already, studying the structure of creation: worlds, Partzufim, Sefirot, clear laws!

Anything that had to do with feelings, I pushed aside. I could not even open those books. They seemed to me like fiction, sentimental outpourings, some kind of sugary fluff. I could not take it! I could not compare them, even though it was written that this is a science. I could not understand how one related to the other.

I remember having deep internal struggles. But I simply set them aside as if they did not exist. Like we usually say, “I do not believe it.” That is it, I will deal only with what I can grasp.

But when I started studying with RABASH, I saw how it all came together in him. We seriously studied the system: I would ask, and he would answer everything clearly, mathematically, with iron logic, because we were studying the physics of two forces.

Basically, what is there? There are two forces that interact with each other according to exact laws. As it is said, it is a system of forces that descends from above downward, according to precise laws, with the goal of revealing the Creator to a person in this world. In other words, it is a system. That is all.

There is some kind of skeleton, mechanics, and forces acting through this mechanism on a person so that through this system he can understand the force that operates within it. This was very clear to me and aligned with my natural inner structure. My profession matched this as well. I deliberately chose it because I was drawn to a systematic view of the world.

But after studying with RABASH when I suddenly felt that he was speaking about feelings, I could not understand what they had to do with anything. Revelation is in reason! And he says: “Revelation is in feelings.” I looked at him devotedly, like a dog at its master, but I did not understand what he wanted from me. He spoke, and I nodded. He would ask, “Do you understand?” And I would say, “Yes.”

This went on for a long time. I did not understand what was being asked of me! What feelings?! Charts, diagrams, schematics… I would ask, and he would answer. But what do feelings have to do with this?! I did not have any.

Only later, after two or even three years, when it began to dawn on me that matter is desire, came the realization that it goes through feelings. That, I could not grasp. What does it mean, “matter is desire”? Matter? Yes. Does it work? Yes. Desire? That is plus and minus. But where is it in me? I could not connect what was written with myself, with my own feelings.

Then I started to understand that, indeed, it cannot be connected with my feelings because I am an animal. But what is being spoken about here are other kinds of feelings, on a higher level. It was about the feelings of bestowal and reception, which do not exist within me or for me, but are isolated from me by the first restriction (Tzimtzum Aleph) and operate outside of me. There, bestowal and reception are not within me, but in the other.

Meaning, I have to isolate myself and start to constantly think about the other, in him is reception, in him is bestowal, and about how my system interacts with his system. Suddenly it started to come together for me like a normal part of the system because I detached from the perception that the world is within me. Now, “the world in me” means the feeling of myself outside myself, in others.

Then it became easier for me, because these were not the same corporeal emotions I constantly got confused in. This is an entirely different method, a different system of relationships. It is detached from me. I place a barrier and start building it outside myself, under the control of reason, under the control of feeling. These feelings do not come from my heart, but from the intention to exit myself and feel myself in another.

When this picture came together for me, I began to understand what Kabbalah is talking about. I remember how difficult it was for me because I think I was more insensitive than you. But on the other hand it was such a joy, such a powerful revelation. It is amazing that such a coarse, lowly, and egoistic person like me was constantly being pushed toward this work.

That is why the most important thing is to understand that Kabbalah speaks of “outside of me,” “outside of my skin.” I used to imagine it all differently, like taking an apple and peeling off the skin. In the same way, I thought I had to peel my own skin, and then I would feel the world.

But it turns out it is not like that. You have to exit and feel everything outside yourself, only in others; that is where you exist. Your body remains an animal; it exists as an animal. You only deal with living in others, that is where your feelings, your mind, your Kli (vessel) are.

The Law of a Healthy Body

929Question: It is interesting that when you are physically near someone, it is easier to associate yourself with them. But doing so through thought alone is much harder. How can we work through thought without slipping into mysticism or telepathy where people claim to sense each other at a distance?

Answer: People can feel one another and even think together. But this is not like Wolf Messing, who could supposedly read minds; that is simply an animalistic sense.

Anyone with enough training can develop such abilities, regardless of their internal qualities, whether good or evil. This is something many charmers and shamans are capable of. It is not difficult, and it can be developed in anyone.

But if we are talking not about reading thoughts, but about an inner connection between people, then that arises only through the quality of bestowal, which is above our egoism. This kind of connection through bestowal requires mutuality, reciprocity, love, and inclusion of one another. It is when a shared vessel is formed where all thoughts and feelings become common and merge together.

What is fascinating is that individuality is not lost in this process; it actually expands through others. It is as if I have absorbed you into my vessel, and you have absorbed me into yours, and so with everyone else. As a result, I exist within everyone, and everyone exists within me.

This is the principle of a healthy, properly functioning organism where every cell is integrated with all other parts and cells of the body; it gives itself to them and receives from them. Then each cell feels the entire body, becomes one with it, and feels eternity, infinity, and the boundlessness of everything within it, and not just the tiny, isolated part it would otherwise feel in a lifeless state, barely aware of itself.

That is why mutual inclusion through the quality of bestowal gives a person an entirely new level of existence, what we call spiritual life. It is the feeling of eternity, infinity, perfection, and boundlessness because ultimately you absorb into yourself countless other souls.

This is a unique state, and it is precisely what we must attain. It is not far off, and at first it depends only on our mutual concessions to one another. Later it deepens into a connection on the level of true internal adhesion.

Communication on the Level of Thought

172Comment: You say that Kabbalists can communicate without words. In our world, communication usually happens through letters and sounds.

My Response: In the spiritual world, however, it happens through thoughts. Thought is the greatest, eternal, most faithful, and perfect force.

It has no limitations and spreads in all directions with infinite speed, anywhere, in any way, between worlds, between the living and the dead. Thought is everything.

Question: Can you communicate with Kabbalists of the past through thought?

Answer: Of course. It does not matter with whom. With my teacher, certainly, I still communicate with him; I still feel him.

After all, when he was physically near me, I sensed him, and that sensation remained within me.

So what difference does it make whether I saw him with my eyes or heard him with my ears?

What was inside me was his inner, not outer, image. It is the same now. That image remains within me—not a physical image, but his attitude toward the world, toward me, toward himself, toward the Creator—in other words, his spiritual image.

Everyone Has Their Own Reality

423.02Question: How can one explain the fact that each person sees their own reality, and at the same time, as Kabbalah says, it does not actually exist, there is only me with my perception?

Answer: Yes, there is only you and nothing else—no history, no geography, nothing at all. You exist as a certain point of desire. Besides desire there is nothing, and within this desire some perceptions or fulfillments are felt.

These fulfillments appear in exactly the form in which you currently perceive yourself. In other words, the feeling of “self” manifests within the desire in the form of your image, and the perception of the surrounding world also appears as images within the desire. That is, you feel the fulfillment in desire in this particular form.

Question: When you describe something, you speak in general terms, “a person,” without addressing anyone specifically. So do all the others actually exist?

Answer: A person, naturally, does not exist. Then how do we see others and our universe? None of it exists. The worlds? They do not exist either.

Only one state exists, which we conventionally call the “World of Infinity,” that is, creation filled with the Creator.

Question: But why do I perceive the world from such an angle, as complex, made up of other elements, people, and animals?

Answer: Because within you there is such a desire that is imperfect, shattered, unassembled, non-integral. You perceive the inner sensation of this desire as “me and something around me,” or “a lot of things around me.”

Comment: But when I say something to other people, they agree, are delighted by a thought, they seem to really exist independently.

My Response: Yes, these are your own desires, which appear to you in the form of separate people, who seemingly objectively exist independently of you and in contrast to you.

The Mirror in Which Only I Am Reflected

011Question: Nowadays we live in a time when a person stops sensing other people. Sociologists and scholars write about this. I don’t see the other, I don’t want to see, I don’t want to feel. What kind of time is this?

Answer: If I don’t feel the other, truly the other, outside of myself, don’t feel myself within them, then I don’t feel the world at all.

Question: So, I must always see myself through someone else?

Answer: Through someone else, yes.

Question: And the fact that we now see ourselves as so ugly, why is that?

Answer: Because we shut ourselves off, close ourselves in, limit ourselves, and don’t want to see anyone except ourselves. That is my world.

Question: So if I don’t let anyone in and I don’t enter anywhere myself, am I ugly? Is that my world—an egoistic one: here I am, alone?

Answer: I see myself.
