Question: In physics there is a phenomenon when a person puts all sorts of efforts in one direction and reveals something completely different. Is there such a thing in Kabbalah as well?

Answer: No. In Kabbalah, this kind of “accident” does not exist. A person knows what he should do. He advances all the time, more and more this causes the development of the qualities of bestowal and love within himself, and causes him to exit himself and to rise above. This is his movement, his direction.

Question: Yet, although he says that he wants to acquire the quality of the Creator, bestowal, in fact, he does not want this, does he?

Answer: In fact, he does not. However, during the study, a certain upper energy comes to him, what is called the surrounding light and it helps him to become different.

There is no room for chance here. From the side of the light, an external influence necessarily arises, and we, in principle, aim for it. If in science we do not aim for something that suddenly reveals itself to us, then here this is exactly what we want.

Question: If a person automatically gets used to reading, say, The Book of Zohar or Psalms, or praying, does this develop him?

Answer: Yes. If he engages in it all the time, then either The Book of Zohar or any other correct sources begin to influence him, and we see how he changes.

This, in principle, is their value. Where else can we receive the upper force, the upper energy, the upper influence on us? We must draw them to us.

The influence of the upper force comes precisely as a result of learning, reading, studying the sources, and most importantly being in a special society, in a special small group—the ten—that can organize a suitable environment for a person when he simply falls under their influence and is ready to change. And even if he is not really ready, they still change him.

Question: Do you recommend reading from the sources in the ten two or three times a day so that it becomes a habit?

Answer: Yes. But that is not everything. After all, the reading of the sources often happens one-on-one: you and the source. And when there is you and the environment around you, that is, not the still, vegetative, and animate, but human, special people who show you the right relationships and demand the same from you, then it turns out that you are pulling yourself up to spiritual levels.

Question: Many people are taught from childhood to pray, to read psalms, and a person automatically reads them because he was told that he will receive some kind of reward for this both in this and in the future world.

And if he is not accustomed to this from childhood, then he begins to ask the question: “Why should I read?” Since he does not feel pleasure in these texts and does not understand them. How can a person develop a habit here? Or does the habit consist of efforts? You once said that making an effort becomes a habit.

Answer: Relatively. It all depends on the society. The most important thing is to create the right environment for any person, for any companies, societies, and people, so that everyone can find the environment in which they can develop correctly.

Question: I am an optimist by nature and I feel joy and inspiration by studying the wisdom of Kabbalah.

But when I connect to people, I discover that most of them are pessimistic, depressed, and what I say even makes them angry. How should I manage my feelings of happiness correctly?

Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us how to ascend above our nature.

We see the world from within us through our egoistic desires. If we don’t like something, we are immediately irritated, we become apathetic and depressed.

The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us how to ascend above our egoism, how to be alert and ready to advance in our connections with other people and understand each other. To put it bluntly, we need to disrespect our ego and ignore it!

At first it is very difficult. There isn’t a person who doesn’t succumb to his or her ego, who doesn’t give in to its pressure, and who doesn’t feel sorry or distressed. But then everything is balanced and we advance forward, overcome our egoism, and ascend above it.

Everything depends on the extent to which we are in a united group that can help each other in our connections and constantly increase the property of the Creator in our eyes, the attribute of love and bestowal, the ascent above our ego, and the exit from it.

If we set such an example for each other, even when we don’t feel so good internally, we help our friends and then they help us, and thus we go through this period.

The period when we are depressed and under the control of the ego is not easy and is quite long. It is called the exile in Egypt because Pharaoh (our ego) dominates us.

So your friends are already in this state and you are in it not yet.

I hope you will not lose your optimism and that you will continue to show your warmth and enthusiasm to your friends.

Question: It is unbelievable what is going on in the world right now. All bonds are breaking down; a mother can sell her own child. Crazy things are happening. Are you saying that this is being revealed on purpose?

Answer: This is being revealed due to our oppositeness to the ideal system we actually exist in, but we do not correspond to it at all. At the same time, the wisdom of Kabbalah is being revealed: the methodology that explains how we can bring ourselves into conformity with this system in order to be in perfect comfort.

Up to this point, Kabbalists hid it and now are revealing it because only now there is a need for it. Through implementing it, it is possible to correct people so that they conform to the general law of bestowal and love. This is a law of nature. If you do not observe it, you feel bad. Observe it, and everything will be fine.

In principle, in our corporeal sciences, we study how to observe the laws of nature and at the same time how to get the most benefit for ourselves. It is the same here. Therefore, Kabbalah is called Hochmat Kabbalah, which means the wisdom of receiving. It is the correct reception of the upper energy, matter, consciousness, eternity, pleasure, and attainment.

Question: In works on management, two points are not taken into account: the interests of nature in itself, and the very nature of man. Perhaps spiritual management built on principles of Kabbalah somehow prescribe this. How do we take into account the interests of nature so that we do not completely ruin it and do not follow the path of suffering?

Answer: We can no longer play with nature. Previously, we could do whatever we wanted with it, but only until humanity reached its maximum egoistic development.

And now we must transform ourselves into a semblance of nature. Otherwise we will not be able to work with it. We will not be able to make mistakes anymore because our mistakes will be immediately visible.

Today we see that we are not successful in anything—not the state, no one, and nothing since selfish decisions are no longer governing. They are just a disclosure of our mistakes.

Until we switch to altruistic control, we will not achieve anything. Therefore, you just need to create a ten and engage in it to unite people into one single whole.

In this case, a semblance of the general integral nature will appear in the ten. In it, we will study in a psychological, integral form how much we can or cannot approach each other, and how our egoistic nature, on the one hand, pushes us away from each other, and on the other hand, obliges us to overcome these distances between us.

Without studying these states, we will not be able to control objects, including large ones, because they will always and in everything selfishly move away from each other.

After all, what is the management problem? I give some signals and then there are people who are generally not connected with each other. As a result, we will have to create such a ten that would be able to implement this unification program and thus spell out all the decisions.

Such a team will be able to solve a huge number of management issues. In practice, this will be the next level of government, enterprise, and family management, everywhere, because the correct recommendations will be issued.

Question: Why is there an opinion that women should not be taught Kabbalah?

Answer: Kabbalah in general was not taught to anyone. Throughout the millennia of its development, it was used only for a small period of time about 3,500 years ago. Since then, it stopped being practiced by people.

With the destruction of the First Temple, Kabbalah fell out of common use. It only existed for several decades during the wandering in the desert on the way from Egypt to the land of Israel.

With the destruction of the First Temple, it already started to erode from the people, and after the destruction of the Second Temple, it almost completely stopped being understood what it is and remained only as a destiny for individual Kabbalists.

But from what we study, it is clear that, on one hand, this is the path of individual development when a person—man or woman—individually enters into such contact with others in which they create a common group.

In it, according to a certain method, they achieve absolutely complete inner spiritual contact, rise above their “I” and begin to feel as “we” instead of “I.” That is, “we” is their common, collective “I.” And in this collective “I,” in this multifaceted connection between them, they see a new force, a new quality—the quality of mutual bestowal and love.

Question: Now we are experiencing a crisis of book reading, it is a dying culture. How can you help a person who doesn’t like to read?

Answer: It seems to me that the era of books is ending because it has exhausted itself. This is not my personal opinion. Unfortunately, I am stating a fact. I myself, like you, grew up reading books. Naturally, for us, a book is everything.

But today I see that what is happening is just a law of nature, a natural process. When did humanity have books? 2,500 years ago. There are, of course, more ancient books from Babylon that are 3,500 years old.

But, in principle, in the era of ancient Israel between the First and Second Temples, that is, minus 3,000 years ago, no books were written. Talmudists and other teachers forced their students to just listen.

Question: But maybe the book will take on a new form?

Answer: A book is the knowledge that is around us, in the atmosphere, in all of nature, in the light, in the stars, in the sky, in everything. If we can connect to nature, we will reveal this book for ourselves, and start feeling it in us; we will read it. This is what is meant by the concept of “book.”

And before the manuscripts appeared, no one wrote anything down. Students had to sit, listen, and only connect to a certain amount of knowledge. And the teacher taught them how to connect.

Kabbalah says that in our head we have nothing but a reading device, and all knowledge, all information is around us, it is virtual.

Therefore, it seems to me that the age of books in print is coming to an end, and we are approaching a different kind of books that affords the opportunity to directly connect to the volume of information that exists in nature. This is the same book, but in a different form.

Comment: I have been to Prague many times. One of my favorite places there is the old synagogue and cemetery. But what struck me was that the Torah books were buried there.

My Response: Yes. The Torah can neither be burned nor destroyed; it is necessary to bury it as we do with people.

Comment: That is, a book is a living organism, you cannot communicate with it imprudently, it can do both good and evil. Another matter is that it changes shape, it may be different. But I believe that the main goal of a person who starts his life is to become a person of the book.

My Response: I have no idea how this is possible today. We need to adapt somehow. Therefore, I use my own approach, I explain the nature of man, how we can change it, and at the same time comprehend its deeper, inner layers.

Question: In any science, scientists first propose some hypothesis and after that they perform actions and discover something. How does this happen in Kabbalah? How can I reveal that the Creator influences me?

Answer: I am in some kind of a field, under some external influence, this is clear to me. But how I can come into mutual contact with this influence is not clear to me; this is what I would like to know.

The fact is that we are trying to determine in our corporeal qualities and capabilities what forces influence us and what reactions they cause in us. However, we perform all this by ordinary corporeal means.

If we develop ourselves according to the Kabbalistic methodology, we try to influence the force field we exist in to understand it, get in contact with it, and determine which of my influences on it cause certain, adequate reactions from it to me. The reciprocity that I create by my influence on the external field that causes change in its influence on me is the subject of the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Kabbalah calls this external field that exists around us the Creator because it reveals that this is the highest, the only force, that creates and holds everything in itself. It calls us, humans (except for inanimate, vegetative and animate nature) created beings, and invites us to develop a sense for perceiving the Creator, to exit ourselves, to begin to feel and explore Him. This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah is engaged in, and this is what we can attain.

Question: By what principle of the actions of the Creator, from the influence of the upper field, on me I will be able to recognize Him?

Answer: According to the law of equivalence of form. If I can change myself, my reactions, my influences on the Creator, then I will feel how He influences me at the same time. Kabbalah in this respect is just a science, there is nothing else here.

Therefore, by changing myself, my influences on the external field, I accumulate enough reactions from it to me; over the course of history I already have some data, I collect it, process it, and I can make some kind of conclusions about the nature of this field, about its behavior, about the way it influences me, and the way I can influence it. This is the entire wisdom.

All religions have emerged from the concealment of Kabbalah.

Once, from the time of Abraham until the destruction of the Second Temple, the people of Israel, i.e., a small group from all mankind, lived according to Kabbalistic principles in order to master the method of assimilation to the highest law, and then to demonstrate it on themselves and transmit it to all mankind.

This is the mission of the nation of Israel, which, in principle, is not a nation, but a small group of people who came out of Babylon to master the Kabbalistic methodology for themselves and pass it on to others.

At first, this group existed in spiritual states: in mutual bestowal and love, in comprehension of the upper world, the highest power of a single law—the Creator. Then, when it fell from this level 2,000 years ago, egoism took possession of the people of Israel, then instead of the science of Kabbalah, religion arose; Judaism, Christianity, and then Islam originated from it.

That is, all three religions are the result of the concealment of the upper world, not of its comprehension. They will exist until the law of globalization, the integration of all people, is fully manifested in humanity.

Now, when it begins to manifest itself, religions will gradually have to leave the world’s stage, and instead of them, Kabbalah will rise again as a method of correcting a person and not his general moral support, which he needed during the 2,000 years of concealment of the true universe.

Question: Your work Basic Concepts of Kabbalah describes in great detail the methodology that brings one closer to the Creator.

But, many modern managers and supervisors are quite far from the concept of the Creator and His influence over our reality. Could there be a fundamentally different approach here?

Answer: Let’s not call all this the Creator but nature. It’s the same thing. The Creator is what we call the upper governance because it is not devoid of consciousness in the sense that it has its own purpose or its own plan. So we say, “This is the upper force, the Creator.” After all, He has a plan, a program that is clearly executed. In every other regard you can simply call it “nature,” a vast, perfect nature that controls each of its parts and propels them to attain its perfection.

Therefore, we can remove the terms “Creator” and “Kabbalah,” and write it in absolutely clear, technical, scientific terms.

I would be very happy about this because I do not consider myself a religious person because Kabbalah has nothing to do with religion or Judaism, it talks about nature. A lot of Kabbalists were from various nations of the world.

In contrast to the attitude to nature that exists in science, here the attitude to nature is that is has a plan, a goal, and the forces of the implementation of this plan. That is why we call nature the Creator.
