Question: I know some people who through spiritual practices and rejection of desires live for the sake of the divine and easily enter the spiritual realm. However, none of them are engaged in Kabbalah. Why do you insist that revealing the Creator is only possible with the help of Kabbalah?

Answer: I do not insist on anything and do not argue with anyone. I have my own understanding. If someone wants to master it, they can learn from the materials that we put on the Internet. Also, I do not want to debate what method is better to study or how to go about it.

Why should I dissuade someone about whether or not he is right? To the extent that a person strives for the truth, he finds his own method, aspires further, and advances. What’s most important is not to stop. Therefore, whatever you do, I advise you only one thing: continue to go deeper, expand, and do not be afraid of anything.

The Torah/Kabbalah does not welcome the rejection of egoism because it is our matter. The more we use it, the more we have the opportunity to ascend.

Unlike religions or most spiritual practices, Kabbalah uses egoism joyfully, as a gift from the Creator. After all, it is egoism that separates the human being and the whole creation from the Creator. And if we want to destroy the ego or annul the desire itself, what would remain of us?

Question: Do Kabbalistic books affect a person if one reads them alone? Or do you need to read them with a group?

Answer: Read as you like, only it is desirable that these are real Kabbalistic books, for your level, and that you find yourself correctly in these books.

Question: What are the criteria for the correct study of the books?

Answer: Study the literature that is recommended to you in the Kabbalah courses in your community.

Question: Also, how do you work with books?

Answer: I have studied primary Kabbalistic sources in detail many times. There are even articles and letters that I have read a few hundred times, and every time I have found something new in them. Therefore, in Kabbalah, there are no sources that I would not have known and would not have worked through repeatedly, in the original language.

I read, underline, write out, compare, and look for specific similar material to somehow reveal it. This is the usual work of any researcher.

There are several variations of the work on primary sources. I often translate them, and if not, I start to abridge them, i.e., rewrite them in the original language, making the necessary adjustments.

The text that comes out is what I want to see now in my current state. Maybe next time, I will make a completely different summary from it.

Working on the texts, I can break them into paragraphs, give each paragraph a title, ask questions, give answers, etc. If required, I work through the text so that I am in it, and it is in me.

Concepts that are opposite in our perception exist in the world of Infinity in simple unity and connection. (Baal HaSulam, Talmud Eser Sefirot, Part 1 “Histaklut Pnimit”)

Question: What does it mean that opposite things are unified? Can you give an example from nature?

Answer: Einstein gave examples of dimensions emerging above time and space. For example, a grandfather and his distant descendant meet hundreds of years later. They both exist simultaneously, but with respect to our attainment it is experienced as past, present, and future.

Question: Does this mean that dinosaurs might be wandering around us and we just don’t see them?

Answer: Dinosaurs are not wandering somewhere; they are wandering within you (in the same way as before, by the way). There is nothing outside of us. We project everything that we perceive so that it seems outside of us and call it “our world.” We feel it only within ourselves. We do not perceive what is outside of us. It is as if some electrodes are connected to us and we imagine that we are somewhere talking with each other and seeing others as if on a screen.

The question thus arises: does this all just seem to exist or does it really exist? We cannot say, because we do not feel anything outside ourselves. Therefore, a person cannot claim objectively that something exists—he always perceives subjectively.

Everything that we reveal and study is purely subjective, including Kabbalah. We never attain the absolute picture. It will be revealed only after the general correction, when all of us unite and our small private sensors (Reshimot) will be united into one common sensor, our small private desires into one common desire that will result in absolute perception, eternal white Light. Then we will be able to talk about what really exists. This state is called Gmar Tikkun—Final Correction.

This is all in relation to us; there are no problems regarding the Creator since His properties include everything. We will be able to achieve this same state when our desire becomes fully integrated, including all the opposites in itself. This is considered loving your neighbor as yourself.

In other words, when I accept everything that exists in another person—all his unpleasant properties, states, thoughts—as my own, as the most precious, with love, then I will include the desires of all the people in the world and will be able to be objective, as all the opposites inside me will be united.

Question: Is it possible to say that both love and hatred will exist in me at the same time?

Answer: Of course. One will not annihilate the other because they will only support each other, so that between them I can feel the acuity of attainment. This is how it works.

Question: What is the difference between Kabbalah and corporeal sciences?

Answer: Corporeal sciences reveal the interaction between different parts of nature at the lowest, material level.

Kabbalah, however, let us use the force from the next, spiritual degree so that we could rise to it and free ourselves from all connections with the corporeal forces, stop obeying them, and enter the attainment of the universe’s next level.

Question: On one hand, Kabbalah is a science, but on the other hand, it is constantly concealed?

Answer: It is not concealed! It simply slips through our fingers because we do not have spiritual sensations. When you reach those sensations, which Kabbalah uses, it will be in your hands.

Question: Will it ever receive the status of science?

Answer: No. Only among Kabbalists! Kabbalah is called a hidden wisdom because others do not have this tool.

For example, everyone can study and use physics without changing one’s nature. The Kabbalistic method, however, submits to those who agree to change themselves to its level.

Question: The uniqueness of Kabbalah that people have a special attitude toward it, there are a lot of opponents, so is it necessary that we constantly prove something?

Answer: Nothing can be done here because people do not understand what it is about. It will continue this way until most of the people will manage to master Kabbalah and declare that they are in the attainment and realization of it.

Question: Scientists of our world are constantly in dispute and disagree with each other. Everyone promotes their own theory. How does it work among the Kabbalist scientists?

Answer: If a Kabbalist scientist clearly knows where he exists and speaks only from the level of his attainments without crossing into something he has not revealed, then he is a real scientist and his conclusions can be trusted.

If a Kabbalist is unable to clearly define where he exists and he can slightly “overstep” his boundary, then his attainments in that area are not really true. Then he has all sorts of guesses, theories, assumptions, and sometimes mistakes. Kabbalists themselves write about this.

In particular, Baal HaSulam wrote a book about a great Kabbalist of the 17th century who incorrectly described an entire phase of attainment of the upper nature. In Kabbalah, just as in any other science, this has a place.

Kabbalists, just as other scientists, can have various disputes and criticize one another. It can be expressed through their knowledge, assumptions, drawings, or many other things.

In other words, Kabbalah is like ordinary science where a person faces the fact of revealing something unknown.

Question: What is the difference between a scientist in our world and a Kabbalist?

Answer: A Kabbalist is a researcher as is the scientist of our world; the Kabbalist simply has more universal instruments of knowledge in his hands. He ascends above his animal nature and explores what is called “the spiritual nature.”

The scientists of our world study what is in them from birth, and therefore, they perceive everything within the framework of our world. The difference between a Kabbalist and a scientist of our world is only in the field of their comprehension. Therefore, a Kabbalist is the same kind of scientist, only engage in the next, upper world.

If in our world a scientist has to develop his regular feelings and mind qualitatively and quantitatively, a Kabbalist must develop completely new desires, thoughts, and intellect, which have nothing to do with the physical world. The upper world is perceived and explored in these new desires and thoughts, and this is the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Question: Various tools such as microscopes and telescopes were created to study this world. What tools does a Kabbalist have?

Answer: It is the Kabbalist himself! The expansion of one’s inner perception is his or her only tool.

Question: Why does an insurmountable fear arise when one wants to practice Kabbalah?

Answer: Fear arises because of a lack of knowledge of what Kabbalah is.

There is nothing kinder, more practical, and more necessary than the correction of one’s soul. It is your eternal part that existed before your physical birth in our world, and will remain with you after the body’s death.

It is necessary to develop it so that even in this world you will feel the upper world through your soul and begin to associate yourself with it and not with the body. One must reach this. There is nothing intimidating about it.

Question: Can one escape fear and get a “safety cushion” through entering into a special inner connection with others who study Kabbalah?

Answer: Perhaps now you are being led forward exactly through what you describe. In principle, however, people study Kabbalah in order to understand their purpose. Studying Kabbalah as a means to escape fears and anxieties is also positive, though. There are people who come to Kabbalah because of fears and anxieties in order to somehow strengthen themselves in this world, in this life.

Question: Is the logic of our world preserved in spirituality? For example, does two plus two also equal four?

Answer: In spirituality, the logic of our world is not preserved. There is no arithmetic there, but there are many other different calculations depending on what one is working with. We will have different mathematics on different levels.

Question: Is spiritual arithmetic the Gematria of words? Is it related to the desire?

Answer: Of course, because each letter in itself represents the combination of various proportions of the forces of bestowal and reception, each of which creates one particular basic form or another. That is why the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet are the basis.

The first nine letters correspond to the nine Sefirot of Bina, the second nine letters are the nine Sefirot of Zeir Anpin, and the four final letters are the four Sefirot of Malchut. There are also five additional letters, which are formed from the Parsa.

Question: Each element of the letters: the point, the horizontal line, the vertical line—are all these forces?

Answer: Yes. A specific combination of forces of bestowal and reception represents letters. There is no other combination.

The Creator created the desire to receive (the black point). During the desire’s development process, He was constantly exerting influence on it and gathering all possible combinations of His influence. That is why when the black point is reflected on the background of white Light, it depicts the correlation between the upper Light and itself, its desires. This creates the 22 patterns.

The laws of Gematria are the same everywhere, the ten Sefirot do not change. But this is not reflected in the mathematics of our world. Gematria is one of the languages describing the upper world and its processes. This is the language of Kabbalah.
