Feel an Ascent at the Convention

934Question: What can each ten do before the convention so that everyone feels only ascent during the convention?

Answer: To achieve this, the ten must first unite and arrive at the convention in this united state. Since there will be many such tens at the convention, you will be able to receive a lot of light that will correct you, and after the convention, you will feel how much you have risen.

Truth Cannot Hinder

626Impure and pure are in one’s feelings. A person may be sick, but if he does not feel the illness, he does not go to the doctor to be cured. It follows that in his feelings, he is well, although, in truth, he is not. It depends with respect to whom it should be true (Rabash, Assorted Notes, 138, “A Near Road and a Faraway Road”)

Question: If everything depends on who the truth is regarding, then it follows that not everyone needs the truth. What is meant here by the concept of truth?

Answer: I cannot define what the truth is right now. But indeed, not everyone needs the truth. Most people do not need truth but good health, a good life, health, etc. And whether it is true or not does not matter. So we still have to figure it out.

Question: It is clear that a person always wants comfort. But does everyone need the truth to develop the soul, or can it hinder someone from developing the soul?

Answer: Truth cannot hinder. Truth is the main driving force in one’s genuine movement toward a goal.

Question: In our ten, exactly what you are talking about is happening: someone wants things to be good while others want correction. I always talk about hate, about evil, about revelation. My prayer is constantly about this. But some do not want to hear it. How should I work correctly?

Answer: The ten is right, it is better to talk about good things.

Question: So if I am in such a state, should I not talk about it, but just join the opinion of the ten?

Answer: Not only you do not talk about such states, you remake yourself.

Integrate with Everyone

942Question: I am coming to the convention where there will be a lot of different people. What does it mean to integrate with everyone at the convention based on the corrected form of my ten?

Answer: You integrate into your ten just as all its other members do, and in this state, you come to the convention.

During the convention, each participating ten maintains its own structure while being ready to connect with other tens without breaking their internal unity. In this way you will see how you all unite and what happens to you as a result.

The Long Path of Correction

961.2Question: When I work in a group, there is always anxiety about if I am acting for the sake of bestowal. Sometimes a friend misunderstands you, and then this apprehension just does not let you rest. How can such a situation be balanced?

Answer: You must understand that this is the path of correction given to us to follow.

The path of correction is a long one. You are still in the process of correcting all your desires, intentions, and everything you have in relation to others so that you radiate goodness, are ready to help and elevate them, and bring them closer to the Creator. So don’t worry. Gradually, we will master it all. This path will not escape us.

Illness in Spirituality

628.3Question: What is an illness in spirituality? How can we recognize and prevent it?

Answer: An illness in spirituality is not the power of all sorts of microbes and viruses, but the power of egoism over us. In this case, we are considered spiritually ill. Therefore, we need to recover and maintain such a standard of living so as not to be spiritually ill.

Question: If I feel the pain of separation from the group, the pain of disunity between us, and a reluctance to get up for the morning lesson and unite with my friends, can this be called a disease, and the group is a doctor?

Answer: Yes, it can be seen that way; you’re correct.

Question: How do you deal with such states?

Answer: You should annul yourself in relation to the group. Self-annulment, without questioning whether your friends are right or wrong, is always the correct approach. If the entire group has a unified opinion, you can join it without any further checks.

Maintain the Taste for Spiritual Work

610.2Question: The evil inclination takes away the taste for work. And if a person still does daily actions of working in the ten and in the world Kli, what happens to the evil inclination? Is it annulled?

Answer: It is changing but very slowly.

Question: How can we speed up this process?

Answer: To do this, you need to work against the evil inclination and be in the right intention.

Question: How can you correctly direct your ten to such an intention?

Answer: By setting an example.

Questions about Spiritual Work—168

281.02Comment: In the article “You Stand Today-2,” Rabash writes that one cannot form a covenant alone because individuals are like reeds, but together, like in a bundle, they are strong.

My Response: Yes, one person alone cannot connect with the Creator. It is simply impossible. In the past, there were special souls that were different from ours. But now, a person must be within a group of people that aim toward the Creator.

Question: We did an exercise where our entire ten prayed for the advancement of one friend. But is it possible that this is an egoistic prayer when we pray for just one person?

Answer: Praying for the advancement of one friend is not egoism. But in principle, you should all advance together, and the Creator should move you forward. Therefore, the main thing is that you should try to connect among yourselves so that the Creator is revealed in your feelings.

Question: What is the law of equality between us by which all the goodness cloths upon us?

Answer: Each of you receives the goodness of the Creator in your own way and your own measure. Not everyone receives the same; each person feels it differently.

Question: What does it mean for the Creator to be revealed to us?

Answer: A person receives a feeling of closeness to the Creator.

Question: Before making a covenant, should we clarify the intentions of each friend so that we can build one common intention from individual ones?

Answer: Yes, we are obliged to do this.

Connect Intentions

938.07Question: How do I connect my intention with the intention of the group?

Answer: Look at your friends and think about how to adhere to them with one intention, toward one goal, and support each other. Then you will have a wonderful group directed toward the Creator.

Question: Is it similar to making a covenant when the merging of intentions takes place?

Answer: Yes, of course.

Question: What should I do when my intention toward the group is almost always egoistic? How can I not lose faith and what can I do besides praying?

Answer: Besides prayer, there really isn’t much else. But to clarify your attitude to the group and the group’s attitude to you, you need to be closer to it. Then, you will understand where you still need to make efforts, add connections, etc.

The Only Dream

945Thus, those who agreed among them to unite into a group understood that there isn’t such a great distance between them in the sense that they recognize the necessity to work in love of others. Therefore, each of them will be able to make concessions in favor of the others, and they can unite around that (Rabash, Article 8, “Make Yourself Rav and Buy Yourself a Friend -2”).

Of the many desires that exist in each of us, there is one desire that is the same for everyone. It is the desire to attain the Creator, to direct all our gaze toward Him. Each person who agrees to engage in love of others feels that there is no great difference of opinion between them.

If we want to reveal the Creator, but we are all egoists and we all have about the same work to do on ourselves, then by uniting in our efforts, we are able to yield to each other, and then we will be able to unite and reach the Creator.

However, there is a small contradiction here. We can reach the Creator only together, and in order to be together, we need to unite, and in order to unite, we must yield to each other.

Therefore, it is necessary to make a calculation about what is more important: my “I,” a small egoist with his worthless, petty, temporary life, or attainment of the Creator, my future state of eternity, perfection.

And then by throwing my life on the scales to decide what to do, I will be able to yield everything in favor of others in order to achieve similarity to the Creator. Thus, unification will be the most important achievement in my life, my only dream.

How Can We Get Rid of Arrogance?

235Question: If a person is told about his arrogance, but does not see it in himself even though he understands that it separates him from the group and the Creator, what can help him escape the influence of this trait?

Answer: He should consider this and pray to the Creator to correct this trait within him.

Question: What is arrogance? What is its corrected side?

Answer: Arrogance is the negative side and the positive side is humility, the act of lowering oneself before others.
