Question: Why should I, as a man, correct my nature?

Answer: You cannot get away from it. We are not given a choice in this matter. As it is said: “Against your will you are born; against your will you live, and against your will you die.”

We simply have to fulfill our destiny in life, and not just one life but a series of reincarnations, gradual returns to this life. And it does not depend on us; one way or another, we have to complete it.

In the course of history up to the present day, we have been led along an unconscious path. We developed egoistically; we were pushed ahead; we invented all possible variations of social systems, family structure, upbringing of children; we developed technologies and whatnot until we came to realize that all this development leads us to emptiness, depression, drugs, and self-destruction. As a result, we find ourselves today in a global crisis.

The fact is that this is a crisis of the entire humanity, of its hopelessness. But we were not consulted about it. Egoism kept developing and driving us and we seem to be rolling by inertia. And now it has shown us that all this purely automatic egoistic development is pointless, and that its only purpose is for us to realize that it is a dead-end.

And now what? Now the question arises about the next level of existence: “What is this all about?” Nonetheless, people try to run away from the answer, drown in thoughts of fashion, vacations, parties, or anything else. But gradually, all these entertainments start to wear them out. And people are left alone with the question: “What is the meaning of my existence? Life has no meaning. Thus, it is not worth living.”

Man cannot escape it. This is a natural path of development, and we are in it. More and more people in the world are asking this question, they cannot hide from it, bury their heads in the sand, and continue living as before. This is how our nature works.

You do not need to be more educated, less educated, a psychologist, a scientist, or an intellectual to perceive it. I have met such people in South America, in Africa, everywhere. I have students all over the world. It is just that the time has come. The Book of Zohar says that it is our generation that will begin to seriously ask this question, and that is why Kabbalah must be revealed.

Comment: A sixth continent the size of the United States has been discovered in the Pacific Ocean, an island of waste made mainly of plastic.

This is a great problem because it takes a thousand years for plastic to disintegrate.

My Response: I don’t think that we will live for another thousand years on this planet. We are bringing it to its end very quickly and denying it the right to exist. The earth will become a lifeless planet. There is nowhere we can escape to. None of the planets have the conditions that we need in order to live. So there is no point dreaming about Mars or other planets. What for? After all, we will pollute everything there too.

Unless humanity corrects itself, there is no need to move. We just need to think about the correction of our nature and turn it from an egoistic nature to an altruistic nature so that people will think about each other, so that they will understand that only good connections between them will open up the future for humanity. Otherwise, each day we are burying ourselves alive in this garbage dump. Our poor kids!

Question: Suppose we begin to connect and ascend above our egoism, what will happen with all the waste? After all, it will not disappear.

Answer: It will disappear. Generally speaking, the whole corporeal world is totally dependent on our internal attributes, and it will disappear.

Question: Will it be because I will not see it?

Answer: No. We will simply be positively connected to each other to such an extent that there will be no room left for the evil force, and the waste will gradually decrease.

Where will it go? Just like in nature. Where did our egoistic world emerge from? The universe appeared and it suddenly began to expand, etc., which means that everything exists according to a concealed internal plan.

There is so much that we don’t see and don’t feel, and there are other connections in nature. The great forces of nature are secret, they are concealed. Let’s begin to activate them.

The main concealed force in nature is the human mind, its power, our mind power, the power of our desire. If we begin to activate it, we will begin to activate totally new attributes between the different parts of nature on a new level.

There will be no plastic. Everything will become transparent, natural, and pure and you will have to get used to such purity. You will not be able to breathe the pure clean air. You will not be poisoned by the pure spring water that you will drink.

If we aim our thoughts together toward each other and toward attaining the attribute of bestowal, love, mutuality, and connection, evil will disappear from the world on every level because unfortunately we are on the highest level, and fortunately that’s the way it will be if we begin to truly engage in ourselves.

Question: But will we have enough time to do that?

Answer: We will surely have enough time, but we will have to undergo some sufferings. The question is how many people will attain this state.

Michael Laitman, On Quora: “What will be next after the coronavirus?“

At some point, we will recover from the coronavirus. However, we can definitely expect another crisis to hit humanity soon afterward. Whether it will be another strand of the coronavirus, or another pandemic entirely, or some other crisis, the reason I am saying that we can expect more global-scale crises is because it is part and parcel of nature’s way of raising us.

When we understand how nature guides us to a defined goal, how nature reveals toward us on the way to that goal, and what we are required to change in order to balance with nature, then we can understand blows such as the Covid pandemic as essential parts of nature’s plan.

Nature sends us blows in waves, one at a time, because its goal toward us is to raise us to a higher degree of human development, one that is balanced with nature. It can be likened to loving parents who sometimes crack down on their children in order to teach them a lesson, and expect a certain change in the children’s attitude or behavior as a result. After inflicting a blow, nature usually gives us time to contemplate it and implement the change that it expects of us. The coronavirus is thus one blow in a series, and we can expect each successive blow to be harsher than its predecessors if we fail to step up to the change that nature expects of us.

Unique to the current pandemic is its global nature. It affects everyone around the world in a wide variety of ways, whether medically, economically, socially and/or psychologically, but all in all, nature sends us all a reminder that it is bigger than us, and moreover, that we are all interdependent.

By illuminating our global interdependence so clearly, we would be wise to think about how we should best relate to our interdependence—that we help, support and encourage each other, and consider others’ needs as preciously as we relate to our own. This is the lesson that nature wants to teach us, and if we fail to make a shift in our attitudes to each other so that we realize our interdependence more positively, then we can expect more and more global-scale crises to bring us to such a determination.

Similar to how cells in the human body operate in order to serve the whole body’s health above their own individual needs, likewise through global-scale crises, nature aims to show us that we are all parts of a single global system. We would thus be wise to start thinking of humanity as such, lovingly, with care, like how we think about anyone who is precious and important to us.

Key to this challenge is that we have nothing to do with our hands and legs—it all points to a change in our attitudes to each other. If we develop an atmosphere of mutual care and consideration that dwells among humanity, then we will see how such an attitude shift brings about myriad positive changes in our lives—from stopping further pandemics and other global-scale crises, to vast improvements of relations on personal and social scales, and their byproducts, which include more happiness and confidence, better health, and lives that become filled with meaning and abundance.

Question: Recently professional top managers, cool directors, if they want to leave the company and are looking for a job, prefer not to work somewhere in Google, in Silicon Valley, in Gazprom, they do not need large salaries. They want a quiet job. The leading request for the past six months is “traveling director” of an American brewery.

Answer: I want it too. What could be better? 🙂

My Response: Why?! The awareness of the uselessness of all these stresses.

People still go in for sports after all. They climb mountains, arrange some kinds of competition and so on. This will all pass too.

The most important question: Why?! It will kill everything. And humanity will calm down. What will happen? Nothing. Let’s just treat each other. Simple, that is, so as not to cause any negative feelings in anyone.

Calm! Just get your paycheck and spend the day the way you want. You will have enough time and desire to get used to this world and how to behave in it.

Question: That is, the request will disappear: more money, a bigger house, and a pool in the yard?

Answer: This will not happen. A person will begin to understand that he must live within his sensations, in movement toward a correct relationship with others, an inner movement. And then occupations, salary, nothing is important to him.

If I have such an attitude toward others, I feel that others have the same attitude toward me, this mutual network of forces, kind, between us I feel, I live in it. This is my job, and this is where I and everyone else exist.

We are only developing these mutual sensations of ours. Effortlessly. It should be effortless! This is how I treat others, and others treat me this way, and everything freezes. And only this feeling you perceive.

Question: And when you say: “Defeat our egoism. Rise above egoism“?

Answer: It’s all inside. Calmly only, calmly.

Question: Is this how calm it will be? I have the feeling all the time that a person must make great efforts.

Answer: No, no, nothing! On the contrary, everything. What for?! If we treat this correctly, then the upper light, which is in absolute rest, will do everything. Just don’t worry. Just don’t bother me. “The Creator will finish for me.” It’s that simple.

“‘First @Neuralink product will enable someone with paralysis to use a smartphone with their mind faster than someone using thumbs,’ Musk tweeted on Thursday.

“‘Later versions will be able to shunt signals from Neuralinks in brain to Neuralinks in body motor/sensory neuron clusters, thus enabling, for example, paraplegics to walk again. The device is implanted flush with skull & charges wirelessly, so you look & feel totally normal.'”

People have already learned to perform all kinds of organ transplants. And now, suddenly, we are getting into the thought. Maybe after all, it will be possible to somehow infiltrate, get closer to the “I” of a person in order to stop wars and hatred?

My Response: No. That is not going to happen.

Comment: Well, look at how much suffering there is in the world.

My Response: That is how it should be. Suffering corrects.

Question: So, it will not be possible to go beyond such physical changes?

Answer: No. Only if the person decides that he should correct himself.

Question: Where does this decision come from? Can it be somehow implanted in a person?

Answer: From basic common sense, when one looks at himself and says, “I am made of a desire that is purely a desire to enjoy, and I have to decide whether I can realize it or whether I need some kind of counteraction to it.”

Question: But why?

Answer: He is one person. But there is another person and a third and a fourth, and so on, who do not want things the way this first one does.

Question: So in order to enjoy something, he must subjugate them?

Answer: Of course.

Question: And they do not want to be subjugated! How can he enjoy then?

Answer: He cannot. It means he has to destroy them.

This poses a problem. We need to transition this to another plane where he realizes that he cannot continue to live in his intentions, actions, in enjoying only for his own sake, that he is really losing in this.

Question: So, you are saying that it is when those who are closest to him, his children, will tell him: “This makes us feel very bad,” right?

Answer: When he will feel that he is really losing, and more than from any egoistic gain.

Question: That is, he gains something egoistically, and at that very moment he loses much more than he gains, right? His children, loved ones, relatives, and so on. Everyone turns away from him.

Answer: Yes.

Question: This is a good example. But how can a person feel in this way? He hurts mostly strangers.

Answer: If his children tell him: “If you hurt someone, then know that in this measure we will reject you, turn away from you. You will be left all alone, and no one will want anything to do with you.”

Comment: So at some point, a person who lives egoistically suddenly realizes that every egoistic action he makes yields an even greater loss. Something very close and dear to him will be lost to him more and more and more. Life passes by.

My Response: Yes. We need to get to something that is very dear to him in life.

Comment: That every drop of his egoistic pleasure for himself kills someone very dear to him.

My response: Yes.

Question: What conclusion can we draw from this?

Answer: The conclusion is very simple. We need to educate the younger generation and they will force their fathers and parents to change. There is no other way.

Comment: So, these young people, children and grandchildren, will come to their parents and say: “The way you live, you are killing us. We will not be there for you.”

My Response: Yes. If you want to create a world for us to live in, then we feel that you are destroying this world.

My Response: Yes. This is what we are creating. We are building a group that must cross this distance—a practically endless sea—although it is called Yam Suf, that is, final sea between us and the Creator. It is finite because it is beyond egoism.

The group itself is a ship. No ship is needed except for the group. The group is this ship on which its travelers sail to the cherished goal. The ship is simply their joint efforts to stay together, join hands, and make themselves a vessel or a ship in which they can together cross the egoistic sea.

Question: And there will be no leaking? There will be no holes in the ship?

Answer: They will have to patch them all up along the way.

Question: That is, they will appear one way or another?

Answer: Of course, necessarily so. This is the essence of crossing this final sea. That is, as more egoism becomes manifest between them, the greater the connection they must build between themselves.

Question: This is so In Kabbalah. But why doesn’t it happen in the world? Charismatic leaders come with exciting ideas, start gathering people around them as if building a vessel, and still everything goes down the drain.

Answer: Because in the end everything is about money.

Comment: You didn’t even say: everything is about the ego.

My Response: No, it is even worse. Much lower. Only money.

Question: You think that all these leaders who ignite sparks, all they see is money?

Answer: Of course! They cannot think any other way.

Comment: There is a well-known fact in history: revolutionaries come, there is a romantic period when people gather around them, the struggle for ideals begins, and then it all turns to bloodshed and death.

My Response: And then all this is quietly taken over by serious people, not romantics, to make good money and gain power from it.

Question: But how do romantics sell themselves? What is happening in them?

Answer: They have no brains. They run purely on passion.

Question: And is there such a spirit to make humanity happy? Do you understand such a spirit— bringing people happiness?

Answer: These are romantics. You will not bring people any happiness. Because people do not need your romantic happiness. The masses will happily follow not the romantic but the pragmatist.

Question: The global luxury goods market, which encompasses both products and experiences—cruises, fine wines, gourmet food—has rapidly dropped for the first time in all countries around the world.

What will a person come to? He won’t need expensive cruises anymore or to travel all over the world?

Answer: This will go away.

Question: Exclusive, beautiful clothes, couturier?

Answer: It will also go away. No one needs it!

Question: Diamonds?

Answer: Until a person has no taste for all this at all. And he will think: “And what is the value of this life? Is there any value in it? Is there something I should gain, some results to finish it with?” And so on. And then the realization of evil will begin.

Question: Do you think that this is a fall to the end, to the bottom?

Answer: I hope so. According to Kabbalah, this is a descent to the bottom. There may be some more spikes. But I think it will all be over very quickly.

Question: And the bottom, is this the question about the meaning of life?

Answer: Yes, it extinguishes everything else, this question about the meaning of life. What do I care about diamonds, what do I care about houses? We will see these billionaires in the future, what they will do with their billions and everything else.

You can close your eyes and make a pink mist around you, as if you were in the previous life and so on, as it was before, or imagine something else. But in principle, when everything happens on Earth, as it does now, it affects even these billionaires through the air, and they also lose the desire for all sorts of jewelry and a life of luxury.

Even on a separate island with all the conditions, there will be not the same environment, not the same air, the wrong atmosphere—neither airy, nor moral, nor sensual, none. A person will have nothing to be proud of in relation to others: “Look who I am, what I am!”

And others look at him: “What do you have? What?!” “Look, here I have a house!” “So what, you’re going to tear yourself apart into 200 people and live in this house?”

“Here, I’m going somewhere!” And where to rush to? I live within myself, I feel satisfied with myself, nothing is needed! Now marijuana will enter the whole world, the world will be engaged in smoke to calm down, and that’s it. Why is all this necessary?

All this will be done perfectly.

Question: But is this also the period before the fall?

Answer: This is a period to calm down from one through the other and eventually come to a normal worldview.

Question: So what will they find the meaning of life in? What will they understand?

Answer: They will understand that the meaning of life is to experience an upper force, eternal and perfect. When we feel it, we become like it—all.

The upper force is kindness, it is the eternal good that fills the whole world. Eternal! And I have to reach its sensation and lose myself in this eternal good. I don’t disappear, I just become similar to it.

Comment: What is good and what is bad? Many people are confused now.

For example, it was good for a lot of people before, and it was possible to make plans. A virus came, and it became bad. And you say, “Good.”

Earlier, America was America and the European Union was the European Union. It was good; people wanted to live there.

America is now divided into camps, and there is intense hatred. It is not known what will happen with Europe, it seems that there will not be this unified alliance. It got bad, and you say, “Good.”

The world has practically lost its purpose, there is no purpose, it is a dead end. Many people feel it.

My Response: This is the best!

Question: Can you sort it all out? What is good and what is bad?

Answer: Good: this is when we move forward in the right direction inherent in nature, not in the one that was created by some great minds, Marxism-Leninism, Capitalism, Socialism, or some other academies.

And now there is none of this, nature gives us a good impetus, and we are moving forward. And that is why it is good.

Question: That is, everything that is created by the human mind is, by and large, bad. And if we try to move, at least approximately, in accordance with nature, is that already good?

Answer: If we reluctantly move where it pushes us, then this is good.

Comment: But if we are reluctant to move, we feel bad.

My Response: Yes. But it is good.

Comment: Here is the whole stumbling block.

My Response: So the point is not to feel good and go to bad. The point is to go for the good. To the good  is where nature pushes us.

Question: That is, can we go to good only if we feel egoistically bad?

Answer: Yes.

Comment: If we feel bad, and now we are at a dead end, we have lost our bearings.

My Response: That’s very good. And from this we will find a good way out.

Question: How do we hear nature? It is impossible for an egoistic person to somehow hear it, move with it?

Answer: You just have to think about where we live, what kind of nature it is. Nature is integral, global, in which everything exists in harmony. So let’s do the same with each other.

Question: What do you mean by the word “nature”?

Answer: Nature is inanimate, vegetative, and animate, and most importantly people, who must achieve a good mutual connection with each other. And then everything will be fine, everything will be okay. These are not children’s fairy tales, this is just a law of nature that everything should be interconnected.

When we begin to unite with each other into one global whole, into mutual good dependence, mutual assistance, with the understanding that this is how one should live, in spite of our petty, philistine egoism, then we will begin to feel that all nature is so closed, altruistic. And inside this state, such a close, warm, normal connection, we will begin to feel ourselves existing in a completely different world, in a different environment.

Question: That is, I only have to make these good efforts toward the other, and I will begin to gradually feel this law of nature?

Answer: Yes. Moreover, this is all described in the Bible anywhere. Nobody can argue with this, you just need to implement it. Ideologically, everyone agrees with this, no one will say no. The most terrible bandits shout that they are for truth, justice, and so on.

So, no problem with that. The problem is how to make a good bond between us.

We cannot implement it! There have already been attempts by socialists, communists, Trotskyists, anyone else. We cannot implement it. And now nature helps us, does it for us.

Question: But people tried all the time. There were all sorts of currents. For example, the utopians tried to create cities in which there would be warm, good relations. And they couldn’t. Why? There were efforts.

Answer: There was no methodology, there was no plan, no program. And now all this is already coming to fruition.

Comment: Russian poet Vladimir Mayakovsky’s poem ends like this: “The boy went away happy and the little one decided: ‘I will do good and not bad.’”

My Response: So it will be with this “boy.”

Question: Will it do well? That is, we will move on to this state.

And another very important question. Retirees who live only on their own pension, those who have only enough for this life, will they have it? It won’t be taken away from them?

Answer: Nature will make it so that everyone will have everything in the necessary and sufficient quantity, no less and no more. And in this way it will set the person up for the right attitude to everything.

Question: So your appeal now is to hear nature, rely on it, and flow with it?

Answer: Yes. Everything will be calm so that everything will be like this. And the most important thing is to open a new world in the right communication with each other. Everybody is in there!

When the economy finally began to open up after a year of quarantine, a new phenomenon emerged: Enterprises are unable to recruit the necessary number of workers to resume production despite the high unemployment rate. It was assumed that those who lost their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic would rush to look for any job opportunity, and there would be no problem with employees.

And yet, there is a huge shortage of labor, both in Israel and around the world. And this applies not only to low-paid, unskilled work, but also in high-tech, law offices, accounting. For this reason, offices have to work with a small staff and on a reduced schedule.

And the people who previously held these jobs are sitting at home, receiving a good allowance from the state in relation to the pandemic and are in no hurry to return to work. How can we explain this paradox, that with a huge level of unemployment, it is impossible to find workers?

There are not enough people who would like to work. Many have lost this desire. After all, they are not in danger of starvation or social pressure. When receiving state benefits, you can lie on the couch, read a newspaper or book, watch TV, or go to the beach with your family.

And in fact, there is nothing wrong with this, because it is said that sometimes “it is preferable to sit and do nothing.” The world is not made to overstrain at work. There are a lot of jobs that don’t do any good, so wouldn’t it be better to stay at home? At the very least, the environment will improve and pollution will decrease.

There is nothing unexpected in this, because of who the person is, the desire to enjoy, which adapts to the conditions that are pressing on him. If there’s no pressure on him, he won’t budge.

Previously, society adopted the attitude that it is impossible not to work: no work—no means of subsistence. Therefore, a person aspired to get a good profession in order to secure a living and feed his family and children. Today, everything is falling apart: There is no desire to start a family, have children, and there is no need to work.

And indeed, the goal is not to work more and more and enrich the owner, but to understand what we exist for. What is the use of working as an economist, who from morning to night is puzzling over how to twist the business so that the owner will evade paying taxes and earn a few more millions? And what is the use of technological progress, allowing us to produce more and more toys for ourselves and play?

It will be more useful if a person devotes this time to his family, children, and really develops himself by studying science, philosophy, Kabbalah, that is, spiritual development. He will study not the artificial world that he built for himself, but the natural world of nature, in which he lives. And so everything will calm down, there will be no pressure and problems, divorces.

Otherwise, we ourselves support the systems that keep a person in shackles.

If a person stays at home, he will have time and energy to think about the world and about the life of his family, his nation and the whole world in order to make it better. What useful results has the development of technology over the past hundred years led to, which has driven us into the grinder?

The pandemic has sobered humanity. People don’t want to work, don’t want to go back to work, to be the slaves of a handful of capitalists counting billions of dollars in profits. In order to exist in the world, a person does not have to work ten hours a day and spend another two hours in traffic jams.

Finally, we realized that we don’t have to work as slaves for Pharaoh, filling someone’s pockets. The era of slavery is over! We are free! Let’s think about what to do with our life. After all, thanks to modern technologies, which we have achieved with our hard work, it is enough to work a couple of hours a day and have everything you need for life.

What do we work for the rest of the time? To accumulate billions in some accounts. Let us see how we can turn all our modern possibilities into arranging a harmonious life for ourselves. How much do you need to work: a couple of hours a day, and not everyone, but mostly men.

And let’s see how many lawyers, economists, etc. we really need in a correct, reformed society. Apparently, much less than now. But we will need a lot more teachers, educators, and more women working with children. We need to invest more money in the care of the sick, the elderly, to restore order in our home.

We do not agree to return to slavery. We are ready to work only as needed in every position, in every enterprise, if it is really for the benefit of humanity and not just for profit. In the pursuit of profit, we have squeezed all the juices out of nature and out of ourselves, and have reached a total crisis.

Let’s review the whole order again and set it according to the need, with the benefit of the environment, the person, the family. We need a state program for raising a person, training courses for mothers and fathers to build proper, corrected families and all support systems so that each person is well and not one at the expense of another.

We have already invested enough in the development of technology, let’s now focus on culture, art, education, things that internally fill a person and not just feed him and dress him.

The process that we go through according to the program of nature is irreversible. And so we will inevitably move away from the hard work that we have been doing for the past hundred years. We have destroyed the environment and human beings, their opportunities to develop, and now we need to recognize this. And humanity is ready for this, in any part of the world, the terrible consequences of the technological and industrial race are manifested. It’s time to stop it, make a serious calculation and fix what is still possible to fix.

There is no other way for humanity. We need to understand why nature treats us in this way, what we need to do, how to behave, what new world we need to enter, and what new systems we need to build.
