My Response: We should not seek proofs. We must focus on our world, and since on one hand, we exist within it, and on the other hand, we have something that belongs to the higher world (our methodology), we must do no more than organize and connect it together. Like, for instance, natural phenomena and their explanations beyond nature: where these phenomena originate and why they appear to us in the way they do.

We need only to establish the right connection, the correct picture, clear, convincing, and understandable, and that is sufficient.

Answer: The facts you convey should be perceived both emotionally and logically.

Baal HaSulam, in the article “A Speech for the Completion of The Zohar,” writes that the teachings of the Ari were aimed at the intellect, the influence of the Baal Shem Tov at the heart, but today both intellect and heart are involved together.

Question: Fifty-fifty?

Answer: Today, the intellect has more influence. We are closer to the Ari than to the Baal Shem Tov.

Therefore, the period of the Baal Shem Tov, the era of Hassidism, has ended, and we now lean more toward the Ari.

We must reach people specifically through rational explanation by presenting Kabbalah as a science that truly explores the structure of the world, its cause, and its purpose.

The correct attitude toward reality is a much more advanced stage. After all, simply knowing that the world is structured in a certain way and that each person has their own function and their own goal that they must achieve in some form, this knowledge itself, after having come to each person, will begin to organize the entire world in the correct way.

We will see to what extent all matter, all actions, and everything that happens in the world aligns with the forces that truly operate within it. The forces acting in the world are 100% the forces of the Creator.

It is only human disagreement that causes the entire world—still, vegetative, animate, and especially speaking—to not be in equivalence of form with the intention of the Creator toward creation. This results in a terrible feeling for the human being who finds themselves in this world.

Why specifically the human in this world? Because only people in this world, and especially in our time, and particularly us, are obligated to freely choose how to relate correctly to reality.

The problem is that we view the world as a mass of matter, yet we forget that matter is merely the final, lowest, inanimate result that rests upon intention, upon attitude. You see, the more concealed the forces are, the stronger they are. If we begin to pay even a little attention to relationships, we will see how, through them, we change everything, including matter itself.

Question: Do we, in our current state, influence the balance of the scale toward good?

Answer: Every moment of our existence we are in the realization of only one thing—mutual guarantee (Arvut). Whether we want it or not, we and the whole world are advancing toward the realization of its importance either through suffering or through the path of Torah.

There is nothing else toward which humanity is being led other than mutual guarantee. We must see that it is a necessity, that mutual unity leads from “Love your neighbor” to “Love the Lord your God.” This is the process that all souls must undergo.

Therefore, everything that happens to all the souls and to each individual every second of their lives is essentially a movement toward the fulfillment of this law.

No matter how confused we and all of humanity may feel—not knowing where we are, what we are doing, and what we are occupied with—it is all just clarification so that we ultimately come to the final conclusion: it depends on each person which way the scale will tip.

In other words, everything depends on the degree of responsibility each individual takes for fulfilling the law of mutual guarantee.

And even now, when you are not yet corrected, to the extent that you are in some form approaching the understanding of this law that we are obligated to fulfill, you affect the entire world through your inclusion in all souls. In this way, the law becomes more revealed in them, and you help others reach its fulfillment.

However, there are people who, due to the state of their point in the heart, are incapable of striving for adhesion with the Creator and cannot fulfill the law of mutual guarantee on their own. But since all other souls are included within them, they will receive some illumination and, as a result, will fulfill this law.

They will say: “If everyone else is doing it, then of course we must too.” But internally, they will not feel it because the penetration of other souls into them is really minimal.

Each time a person passes through the four exiles, one corrects the addition of the desire to receive. And today, as in all the previous stages during which the soul of Adam HaRishon went through corrections, the same system operates. The force of Abraham is revealed opposite all the forces that can be corrected, but have not yet been corrected. These are called “the people of Israel.”

It is similar to the first deliverance from Egypt. Only now the clarification will take place until the same desires that are present in the people of Israel gradually become revealed throughout the entire world. But this will happen only after the people of Israel separate themselves, meaning, after all the souls isolate those desires and thoughts within themselves that they can attach to the one, unique, and unified, for there is none else besides Him.

The desires that they are able to isolate can be passed through a correction called Arvut (mutual guarantee), and in this way, they begin to work on correcting thoughts and introducing them to the idea that only one force operates in realuty, not many.

All other thoughts, called “nations of the world,” that are unable to participate in this for now, must undergo total restriction and not be used.

Thus even though it sounds illogical, the more separate the people of Israel are from all the other nations, the better it is for them—in life, in politics, in everything.

This is against the logic that only by supporting one another can everyone live and sustain their existence. But here, when they mix with others, on the contrary, it leads to adopting their worldview, their Aviut (coarseness), and their norms; it causes delays in correction, and once again pulls the category of Israel into the categories of the nations of the world.

This can only be corrected by escaping, as from Egypt, by isolating oneself with thoughts directed solely toward closeness to the Creator and unity with Him.

So the system remains the same as before. One must be merged with the idea that there is none else besides Him, that He is one, unique, and unified, and the good who does goood to both the wicked and the righteous, that is, to good and even bad desires. Whatever they may feel—good or evil—it does not matter: He brings them goodness at every moment and in every specific state.

Therefore it is necessary to separate all the desires with which one can attain adhesion to the Creator. First, the corrections are carried out by the Kabbalists, then other desires join them (these are called “the people of Israel”), and after that the nations of the world. This happens in each person, in the nation, and in the world with all nations.

Question: How can the people of Israel feel their mission in this world?

Answer: First of all, the people of Israel must achieve their own correction. To the extent that they correct themselves, they will begin to understand what their role is in relation to all the broken vessels.

But Israel does not understand and cannot understand in advance what its function in creation is, since it is under the dominion of the AHP, the nations of the world, the broken Kelim.

Galgalta ve Eynaim cannot understand that there is some kind of work of bestowal here. To whom should one bestow? With what? Therefore when the people of Israel are in a state of shattering, what is the point of telling them: “You must correct the whole world!” ”What do I care about the whole world? Leave me alone.” Because of the lack of bestowing qualities, people do not feel the need to engage in someone else’s correction.

However, to the extent that they acquire the qualities of bestowal, that is, as GE return to their proper role, about which it is said: “You shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests,” they will reach the second stage, as it is said: “You shall be unto Me a holy nation.” But not before! Until then, they do not understand their function, and this is called being in a state of shattering.

Therefore, today we cannot expect the people to recognize what role they are to assume in this world. Perhaps they will be forced into it through suffering.

As of now, it is unclear to people that we must correct ourselves in order to correct the entire world. They only understand one thing: if we correct ourselves, without regard to the world, then the whole world and the Creator will treat us well. The second stage, which is hidden here, they do not yet perceive.

So it is not clear whether it is even worth speaking about the fact that we must become a light unto the nations, pass on to them the method of correction, and correct ourselves together with them. This becomes clear only when Bina truly attains the quality of bestowal, when it really becomes similar to the Creator, bestowing for the sake of bestowal, and seeks how to implement it.

Then it sees the necessity of the nations of the world and of connecting with them in order to correct them for the sake of the Creator. And benefit for the Creator means that the world will be corrected, that is, the nations of the world. To them He initially wished to give the Torah. Israel is present here only as a “conduit.”

However, at first all this is difficult to explain to the people of Israel, since they are in a state of shattering. But upon coming out of the shattering, they will begin to understand their task and their role in relation to the entire world.

Question: Shouldn’t we address the people who deal with the external part of the Torah directly?

Answer: The time has not come yet. We need two-sided preparation.

On one hand, it is necessary for the crisis that has occurred in Judaism to develop to a certain level and for the general opinion of society, of the people, which still influences them, to become so strong that it makes an impact and in some form a shift of attention from the external to internal would begin.

Baal HaSulam speaks of this as an iron curtain that exists between the people and the science of Kabbalah, between the people and the Creator since the destruction of the Temple. We see that today there is hatred between the Orthodox part of the population and the science of Kabbalah. Fear, hatred, and misunderstanding of what it is are very strong, and until it passes, we need preparation.

The preparation is gradual. We are already seeing how this is somehow penetrating inside, the people agree with it more than their leaders, and the leaders are gradually changing. To remain in leadership, they will have to accept the desire of the people; they have no choice in this. So it will come.

You cannot rush this. You would not call me patient, would you? But I feel something stopping me, in the past and now too; it does not allow me to approach the people of Israel and be involved with them. This does not mean I have no means, or that our group is not strong enough.

There is some protection from above here; we are not yet sufficiently prepared. We still lack an inner understanding of how to do this in the right way so that everything is perceived with understanding that yields results.

It should be like a mother with a child who understands him and knows everything that is necessary for his well-being.

It seems to me that first we must distribute as many pamphlets as possible, to take such actions so the people perceive it on different levels, from inanimate to vegetative, to animate and speaking. There is a lot more to think about here.

It has not taken shape yet; it has not descended from above. Therefore, no matter how much we want to, we cannot rush things, otherwise we will get a negative reaction that will damage both us and our connection with the people of Israel. But I hope that we are guarded from above and we will not be allowed to mindlessly do what we want from the bottom of our hearts.

The people of Israel must be the first to realize the method of adhesion with the Creator. This ideology stems from the general law of the entire universe and not what you are looking for, according to which law or method you want to live by. It is simply engraved in nature, and you cannot escape it.

You simply explain these laws to people, like physics or chemistry. You do not come to them as some kind of philosopher imagining that maybe it is this way or maybe not. And not even as a Jew.

You come as a scientist to show how the world exists, what the reason is for its creation, what goal it must reach, through what corrections and processes it moves from its beginning to its end.

You explain it like a scientist, from the side, in a completely objective form: “If you want, accept it; if you do not, do not accept it.” As if you saw a bacterium under a microscope and are explaining to the world how harmful or beneficial it is and what to do with it.

And when you explain everything in a cold, detached-from-yourself manner as if it does not concern you, then it becomes their task to translate the informational form into a sensory one. After all, their lives depend on it! So, let them receive it and do what they feel. You came simply to present the fact.

This is the most healthy approach. This is exactly how I explained things in lectures abroad: “I came to tell you what is happening. Are you familiar with these facts? Then look where it all comes from.”

I drew the map of the worlds and explained that this is science: “We are all in one pot, and no one will be helped by destroying others, and there’s no point in running away to find a quieter place in Madagascar, Uganda, or somewhere else. Nothing will help.”

And people accepted it because they saw how logical it is and that it comes from nature itself. We do not understand the power we have when we present all this clearly as a fact.

Question: What determines the measure people connect to Kabbalah?

Answer: We do not know precisely the measure of connection, how, in what form, or in what way it happens. But suddenly we discover that there are whole groups of people in the world who feel a sense of belonging to this.

Just as, on the other hand, we see that among the Jewish people there are those who hate this idea, who do not want to accept it, and who even want to destroy you more than all the nations of the world.

But it is not for our mind to understand why, during the shattering, certain reactions occur, and why in our people there are those who are against us, and among the nations of the world, there are those who are for us.

We must not make these calculations. Lights clarify the vessels. Our task is only to reveal this thought, this general picture, more and more to everyone. This knowledge will draw the surrounding lights closer, which will perform the clarifications throughout the world. It is not our role to interfere in the process itself.

It is said: Even if a sharp sword rests upon a person’s neck, he should not deny himself of mercy (Rabash, “Come Unto Pharaoh – 1”). 

We do not know, but in the most difficult moments, precisely through the shattering, from the depth of despair and disappointment, heaviness, hopelessness, and dead ends, suddenly the path is revealed, adhesion, a leap toward the light. In all this, we must proceed entirely above reason.

Question: How can I “disconnect” myself from the explanation when disseminating?

Answer: We approach the masses as scientists, as researchers, and a true scientist must be absolutely impartial toward the outcome. They investigate nature outside themselves, outside their own “I,” just as Kabbalists do in this world.

Only later can we begin to talk about how my desire for something to happen influences its actualization. This occurs due to the law of nature adapting to my desire.

So how can I remain impartial? I must strive to understand the world, to understand life, to learn what is assigned to me without any personal involvement. If I investigate while I am interested in the result is a will to receive. What will I examine then? Only what is better for my will to receive. That is what everyone studies, and no one can see the true picture this way.

I must explain to everyone: “Friends! By distancing ourselves from our will to receive, we achieve the revelation of the picture of the world, we reach a degree from which we can understand the true interrelationships between the parts of reality—how everything is operated by the upper force, how all the details are interconnected, and what purpose they serve.”

I explain everything as a scientist who has discovered the system, the general law that operates in all its forms. But at the same time, I am dependent on nothing. This is how our approach should appear from the outside.

I must show by my entire appearance that I do not exist at all in this picture. It is not related to religion, to any way of life, or to anything else. It is simply general nature as it reveals itself. Then people will perceive it that way.
