Question: What is the benefit people developing spiritually, if they can, and so to receive maximum pleasure in the physical world?

Answer: If they can get pleasure, let them live the way they are. The Creator gradually develops a person’s egoistic senses until he realizes that his existence is insignificant, temporary, and does not carry any meaning.

The wisdom of Kabbalah doesn’t appeal to people who are still fulfilled with physical pleasures. On the contrary, the Kabbalists hid it for many years until we reached the “edge” in the framework of the general world crisis, which only now is beginning to develop significantly.

The crisis leads us to a state in which we need to answer the question about the meaning of life. Without it nobody would want to exist: Either give me the answer to this question, or I’ll kill myself.

The person will feel the finiteness, the limitation, the nothingness of all of the passing physical fulfillments, so much so that he will not want anything, even if a tremendous pleasure is “shining” in front of him.

The reason that people are becoming depressed and need drugs is because they don’t want to deal with this state of emptiness and reception of pleasure, reception of pleasure and emptiness. They don’t see any ultimate meaning in this. They prefer to inject themselves with something and shut down.

Our development doesn’t permit us to live like a little child who constantly enjoys various empty things. So we have reached a state in which the wisdom of Kabbalah is beginning to be unfold to humanity.

Adam was the first person who discovered the upper force of nature. There were many generations of his students after him, to whom he passed the method of revealing this good force and using it to compensate for the negative force within a person.

Twenty generations after Adam a man called Abraham was born in the ancient Babylon.

A very interesting state developed in Babylon. Previously Babylonians lived happily and peacefully by managing to contain their negative egotistic forces. They were leading a quiet and peaceful village life. And suddenly an evil force of the growing egoism erupted between them and blew up this tranquility.

At that time a wise man, a local priest called Abraham lived in Babylon. He tried to understand what happened to Babylonians and discovered that it is necessary to attract a good force hidden in nature in order to balance with its help a negative force of egoism. Abraham discovered that it is possible when people unite between themselves, despite hatred and enmity for each other. If they sit together and try to reveal a good force between them above all evil forces, they receive it and with its help neutralize egoism.

Abraham improved Adam’s method by adding to it the ability to actively retrieve the positive force from the depths of nature, and began to teach this method to Babylonians. He urged them to correct the situation and stop the hatred. Many responded to his call and began to study. Babylon was divided into two halves: those who were able to hear Abraham and accept his method and those who were not.

Then Abraham took his disciples and led them out of Babylon to the land of Canaan. Thus was formed a large group of his followers who later called themselves Israel, according to their aspiration straight to the Creator (Yashar El). They strove to the good force that they could attract and with it balance their life.

And also, through the connection of these two forces, they began to see a new picture of the world, the way we see with two eyes. They saw what is hidden behind an external picture of the world that is given to us from birth, penetrated into this picture, discovered the mechanism of nature, the forces that affect us, and began to actively work with them.

Question: If we imagine that humanity, as a huge and very powerful body, suddenly feels a certain cell inside it has become altruistic, would the body divert all its energy to destroy this cell?

Answer: We Kabbalists feel it on ourselves. Throughout history Kabbalists have been terribly humiliated even by people who were closest to them. Today this is also the kind of attitude that those who study the wisdom of Kabbalah encounter. It is hard to say that this study is recommended and that it is welcomed and appreciated by others. The great egoistic mechanism is working on suppressing the altruistic cell.

Unfortunately the world’s attitude toward the wisdom of Kabbalah cannot be positive. It is negative, disrespectful, contemptuous, and based especially on fear and wrong assumptions. Our ego comes up with anything one can imagine: practices, mysticisms, and beliefs in order to draw people away from the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Question: Won’t this ever change?

Answer: It has to change. I believe that it will happen in our generation. We may undergo some more unpleasant experiences, but eventually everything will change.

Question: If you say that this is human nature, then you don’t blame those who oppose you.

Answer: I don’t blame them, what can I blame them for? They have no freewill. The Creator is managing them. Of course, I don’t like the cane that hits me, but I cannot attribute any importance to it or attribute freewill and independent decision making to them since everything is managed from Above. Therefore, when I hear about such attacks against me and our world organization I see them as an incentive in our work and confirmation of the fact that the Creator doesn’t forget us.

Question: Doesn’t it worry you that these forces can stop our dissemination?

Answer: I have to do my job in spite of everything that happens.

The Torah serves as a basis for everything that happens in humanity. By some inconceivable streams and links, everything in the world is connected to Kabbalah: science, culture, art, and beliefs.

Everything else is an animal development of humanity because the world is divided into two parts: “Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what belongs to God.”

Comment: However, humanity still needs to come to this, despite the understanding that everything is taken from there….

Answer: I also used to be like all of humanity. So what?

You begin to explore, delve deeper, and at the same time, you don’t lose your head and feelings. You stay a normal human being with all of the desires, understanding, and connection with this world.

Together with it, you penetrate into the structure of the universe, and you see completely different things there, something that physicists just start talking about. You discover the Infinity, and this is not infinity the way that we understand it. In fact, these are your normal, internal states, just not corporeal.

Comment: The Torah is a basis for everything. However, it will take a long time until people come to the understanding of Kabbalah.

Answer: This is not true! If a person receives just a little prick, he says, “Oh! Enough! I am ready! No more.” Nowadays, we are exactly in such a state. Therefore, one little prick with a stick, a stimulus, is enough for us to move our donkey (Chamor in Hebrew)—that is, our matter (Chomer)—forward. We just need to be pricked, in other words, to receive a stimulus.

Question: Do you think that we will see a mass transition of the people to the “land of Israel”?

Answer: I don’t have any expectations. I must do what I can till the last breath. This is the best.

Of course, everyone should want to be like Moses, but not everyone can. Nevertheless, each of us must reach their purpose, perhaps a small one, but his own. Then, you will rise to the same level of Infinity, to the same height as Rabbi Shimon, the author of The Book of Zohar, Moses, and all other Kabbalists, the so-called superhumans.

Just do your part! It doesn’t matter who you are and with whom you communicate. If you, in your place, are able to invest your maximum effort into connection between people and their adhesion to the Creator, you will rise to exactly the same level as all great Kabbalists.

Question: Is a person given the understanding that this is exactly his place?

Answer: If he is open for it, his mission will find him.

Question: Where does your happiness about the vilification against you come from?

Answer: That’s right. I am happy about the vilification against me, and there are a number of reasons for this.

First, between the years 1972 to 1974, permission for me to immigrate to Israel was denied, and I  remember the large amount of information about Israel that was drawn from anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic publications in the Soviet Union.

Since we exist in an egoistic world, a person is attracted to evil, falsehood, slander, and so forth. Because of this, if it is very important to me to disseminate the knowledge of the wisdom of Kabbalah, which is vital for the survival of the Jewish people, I am happy to have this opportunity like, even when I am being reviled. This is because, along with this, a little of the essence of the wisdom of Kabbalah is revealed.

Second, as long as a person hasn’t discovered the upper world, he still perceives through the concepts of our world, which absolutely are opposed to the upper world. This means that he is not ready to evaluate correctly the methods for discovering the upper world or its details in any way.

So, it is no wonder that the Kabbalists were silent for two thousand years. Today, the world is becoming global and requires the understanding of the management system. This understanding can be attained only through discovering the higher management system, and this is the main subject of the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Because of this, it is imperative to explain to everyone the need to reveal the wisdom of Kabbalah as the only means for saving humanity, without paying attention to vilification and slander wherever possible.

Likewise, no one in the world appreciated and valued the great Kabbalists of the 20^th century, Baal HaSulam and Rabash. However, Dr. Laitman, who is found on all of the communications media, has arranged an advertising campaign for them. Moreover, those who are against Dr. Laitman are saying now that Baal HaSulam and Rabash were true Kabbalists, whereas Dr. Laitman is not.

After all, I am not the main thing. However, by reviling and cursing me, they are agreeing and giving legal validity to my great teachers in their circles. Regarding me and my writings, this will be left for my students and the coming generations.

Question: How did people manage to maintain their strength of mind in the concentration camps?

Answer: The upper force helped us maintain our strength of mind because we had to recover after this blow and bring ourselves to correction. If we forget about the past catastrophe and are ready to give up and do nothing again, then by this, we are preparing a new Holocaust.

We need to understand that we are approaching it! Just like the Jews before World War II and before the Holocaust didn’t believe that it could happen, it is the same is today: They don’t want to know about it.

Question: Nowadays people are more concerned about material things, and the spirit isn’t the center of society’s attention. What kind of spirit do we need to raise and develop in people?

Answer: It is unification; there is nothing else besides it. If we help all of humanity unite again into one common system, as one man, then we will achieve the desired state the good way. We still must come to it in any case, but if we, by ourselves, do not advance toward it, we will be driven by suffering.

Question: What role did all of the attempts to preserve cultural life, all the theatrical plays, have in the concentration camps?

Answer: This, of course, this helped people in such a dire state survive psychologically. But I am talking about real corrections that the people of Israel are obliged to make in order to destroy fascism completely as a phenomenon.

Unification has a special power, and this is the only thing that nature wants from us. We come to the fact that the development of all of humanity, human society, requires to connect correctly in a certain harmony. The world is becoming integral, as one small village, and only the people of Israel possess the method of connection, which is called the wisdom of Kabbalah.

If we understand this method and are able to use it, everything is wonderful.

However, while having the method of connection, if we don’t want to apply it and even resist our connection by any means, by creating various parties, movements, and schools, then we are arranging a very big problem for ourselves that can drop a terrible blow upon us again. We will again begin to advance by the evil, murderous force.

Question: What could the Jewish people have done to avoid the Holocaust? The Nazis expressly treated people like cattle, forcing them into boxcars and driving them into such a state where it was hard for a person to preserve human dignity.

Answer: The nation of Israel was obliged to pass the method of correction to the world, to stand at the head of the entire world and become a light to the nations.

We had to show to everyone the example of unity that humanity is destined to reach in order for all of the people, from young to old, to reveal the Creator. As it is written, “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”

But if we don’t fulfill our mission, then we contribute to the rise of the forces of evil in the world. Therefore, it is possible to say that, precisely because of the Jews, the Nazis were able to come to power—thanks to our inaction.

The Nazis persecuted Jewish people specifically because, if we allow to the evil force to rule, it above all rules over us. The entire fight of the forces of evil is directed exactly against the people of Israel, not against other nations, as the main war was ideological.

The ideologists of fascism especially studied Judaism and sensed that they needed to destroy the force of spiritual power that exists in the people of Israel. In this way, they were hoping to take this power into their own hands, instead of ours.

The method of connection (the wisdom of Kabbalah, the authentic teaching of the people of Israel) hasn’t opened up and hadn’t begun operating in humanity, who required it so much. Therefore, another force rose instead of it, the force of the Nazis that was destroying everything by separating humanity, driving it to the different corners of the world and distancing it from unity.

In fact, the Nazis allegedly stated, “If you are unable to unite all the nations of the world in the mutual bestowal to each other, then we will unite everybody by the Nazi methodology.” After all, the word “fascism” comes from “fascio” (union), “bundle, assemble from many stems.” In other words, the union, either good or evil, will be achieved in any case.

The Jews have the method of good union through the upper force in which we reach universal equality and freedom of expression. The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us how to come to this.

However, if we can’t and don’t want to do this, as there are many opponents of this method amongst the people of Israel, by this we give freedom of action to the Nazi, fascist forces. This is what happened eighty years ago, and there is a great danger of a repetition of the Holocaust.

Question: As far as I understand, important spiritual discoveries and inventions occur in a certain frequency. Can we say that ascent and thirst for spiritual information is cyclical?

Answer: Yes, there are different periods in human evolution that are more intensive or less intensive, etc.

We live in a very special time, the cornerstone of an intense period of mankind’s development, when all his past development of systematized, stored, connected, and integrated evolution has come to one common denominator—to the conclusion that the world now needs to reverse and change from reception to bestowal. Therefore, currently we are experiencing a very serious step in the evolution of mankind!

We should be thankful to the Creator for the opportunity He has given us; as Baal HaSulam says: “I am glad that I have been born in such a generation when it is permitted to disclose the wisdom of truth.”

We are witnessing increasingly greater changes today because we are implementing what Baal HaSulam and Rabash prepared for us. We are the souls who pave the road for all the other souls to the Creator’s palace, to adhesion with the upper force, to the ascent up the 125 levels of the upper worlds! We are laying the foundations for the revelation of the Creator.

Our situation is the most critical in all of human history, because this is the first time we encounter such changes. Like a ray of light in complete darkness, distant and totally different particles that have been shattered and dispersed in the great dark space of the general soul are now gathering and beginning to reunite into one whole!

It is great joy that it all happens with us and to us, joy that we are the ones to be rewarded by it! Therefore, we must make greater efforts in order to comply the one creation and to resemble it.

Comment: According to a recent survey in France, about 60% of French citizens believe that the Jews are partly responsible for the growing anti-Semitism in France. 56% believe that the Jews are very influential and that they are richer than the average Frenchman; 40% say that their presence in the media is exaggerated and 13% claim that there are too many Jews in France. Generally speaking, the French don’t like the Jews.

Answer: Of course, that’s the way it has always been. The French dislike the Jews more than all other nations. But now the inclination toward anti-Semitism will grow all over the world because the world has reached a state in which it is obliged to correct itself and this cannot be delayed any longer. The general global egoism cannot develop any further, and so it begins to devour itself. And consequently more and more hatred is manifested.

People will suffer from the growing egoism and will not find a way to get rid of it. They will instinctively feel that the Jews have the key for the correction, but are not fulfilling their mission. Therefore along with the growing egoism, the subconscious hatred toward the Jews will grow, indicating that they are responsible for everything. The truth is that they are to blame, not for the sufferings, but for the fact that they don’t heal humanity of their sufferings.

Comment: But the Jews themselves don’t really understand that.

Answer: The Jews don’t understand that and neither do the nations of the world.

Question: So what do we want of the Jews?!

Answer: Nothing. We want Kabbalists who understand the essence of egoism to explain it as soon as possible to everyone, even to those who don’t want to hear. We have to go out and cry out on every street corner, everywhere, and in every possible way, through the media, in every language, all over the world, both to Jews and to the peoples of the world.

This is the only way that we can make people gradually listen to us. There will be more and more blows; we will feel bad and they will feel bad, and eventually everyone will listen to why the nations of the world hate the Jews, and especially the Jews will hear why the nations of the world hate us.

Then the Jews will begin to study the wisdom of Kabbalah and will unite, setting an example for the other nations of the world, which will gladly begin to unite around the Jews. It is like sourdough that you add to dough which begins to ferment. And the Jewish people perform the role of the sourdough. This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah says and we cannot escape it.

But now the starter is not performing its function, and so people feel natural hatred towards us. When one of the nations calls out to a Jew: “I hate you and I will kill you,” they mean” just show us how to connect and unite and we will follow you.”

Question: Why do the people of the world believe that the reason for their troubles is the lack of connection between the Jews?

Answer: It is instinctive; they don’t actually know why and how.

Question: What is the magical thing?

Answer: The source of power is in this connection, the wellbeing of the whole world, because it is actually in the connection between them, between all the parts that are opposite from creation, especially on the highest level, on the human level, that there is a great force that will bring goodness, warmth, and wellbeing to our world. This connection reveals perfection and eternity.

The Jews have to be the first to unite and set an example for the whole world that demands it from them. This is exactly what we Kabbalists have to tell the whole world. We should show, teach, and set an example, which means to be Light unto the nations of the world.
