Turn To The Creator

624.02Question: What in essence is prayer? And how can the ten bring forth a common prayer to the Creator in order to give Him contentment?

Answer: Prayer is a request in the heart when I raise my real request to the Creator. Like a child who cries to his mother although he does not even know who he is turning to. But he came out of her, he is connected with her, and he turns to her crying. And she hears him.

It is the same with us. We must turn to the Creator because we were born from Him; we fell from the quality of Bina into the quality of Malchut, and now we want to rise again into the quality of Bina. But we want to rise consciously!

This ascent will be called spiritual because we must rise above our egoistic desire (Malchut) into the qualities of the Creator (Bina). This is what we must do and ask for.

Question: If we must cry like babies to ask the Creator, then will we never grow up? Will we always be like children?

Answer: Of course. We will always be creatures and not the Creator. But we want to rise to the level of the Creator Himself. This is the purpose of our development. So, let’s try. He wants us to achieve this.

Working With The Friends

947Question: How can we be impressed by friends and receive inspiration from them?

Answer: It depends on how much you value your friend, how great he is in your eyes. This way, you can be inspired by him and use his state as your energy. This happens in our lives too.

Question: Discovering that a friend loves me, is this the feeling of Shechina? How can we remember this love in the background of changing relationships?

Answer: When you are feeling the love of a friend for you, you should be able to appreciate it, raise yourself to the same level, treat him appropriately, and he should also treat you in the same way. You must connect your attitudes to each other so that the Creator will be revealed between them.

Question: When disagreements and tensions arise within me toward the friends, should I bring this up for discussion in the group, or is internal work within myself enough?

Answer: Basically, internal work is enough for you to start correcting yourself above things that are happening. However, if not, then you can turn to the group. You have to correct these states either by yourself or with others. But it is necessary to correct them.

Incorporate In Each Other’s Desires

938.05The essence of love and unity is in the desire, when each one pleases his friend, there is no disparity of desire among them, and all are incorporated in one desire, by which they are incorporated in the upper desire, which is the purpose of the unity (Rabbi Nachman of BreslevLikutei Halachot [Assorted Rules]).

Precisely by incorporating in each other’s desires and filling each other, we gradually reach the Creator and become incorporated in His desire, in His oneness.

There is no other way to come to this state. We just need to turn a blind eye to everything else as secondary and do only that! Throw yourself into it, and you will succeed!

Nothing Will Help But Prayer

243.04Baal HaSulam, Letter No. 57: Everything, small or great, meaning everything we have, everything we can attain in spirituality, is obtained only by the power of prayer. All the labor and work to which we are obliged are only to discover our lack of strength and our lowliness—that we are unfit for anything by our own strength—for then we (we are convinced about it) can pour out a wholehearted prayer before Him.

By revealing that we do not have the strength and intention, that we cannot do anything, do not know anything, do not understand, and do not remember that we are just little egoists—that is all true, but it must be perceived correctly.

Despite the absence of a real desire in everyone, we gradually begin to connect and feel that nothing can help us except a cry. Like babies, what do they have? —crying. This is the only thing that saves them, and thanks to this they survive and grow. And, on the other hand, they have a mother who thinks about them all the time.

It is the same with us. We must shout and demand for the Creator to take care of us. The more we make efforts, the more we will feel like insignificant losers. And this is only in order to achieve perfect prayer.

And the Creator is constantly occupied with us until we realize and feel His work on us, His care for us.

A Common Prayer

939.01Question: What should we do if we delay a prayer and slow it down? How can we remove this inhibition?

Answer: Set for each other an example even if you do not feel like it. But if you show others that you have what to turn to the Creator with and how, they will take it seriously, even though it will be a game on your part. That is how it is done.

Comment: You say that prayer should come from the bottom of the heart. But with us, when we make a prayer from the entire ten, it appears purely mechanically.

My Response: I am not saying you should do that. This is incorrect. You cannot mechanically take a sentence from everyone and make up the text of the prayer. You will only hurt each other.

You must collect, analyze your desires, aspirations, and goals, and make one common whole out of them. This is called a common prayer. There is no other way.

Entering Impregnation Of The Soul

To Raise Shechina From The Dust

275You lack nothing but to go out to a field that the Lord has blessed (Baal HaSulam, Letter 4).

This field is called Shechina or the connection between us in which the Creator reveals Himself. But when this field was shattered, the Creator disappeared from it.

All our work is to connect with each other and to restore the network of communication between us, and to the extent we do, the Creator will gradually reveal Himself in it. Such a revelation of the Creator is called spiritual degrees or worlds.

“Peace” – “Shalom (שלום)” is from the word “world” = “olam (עוֹלָם),” “alum (עָלוּם)” – “hidden.” The relative concealment and revelation of the Creator at each degree will show us what kind of world we are in.

Therefore, we need to collect all those flaccid organs that have drooped from your soul, and join them into a single body, – into one connected system. In that complete body, the Creator will instill His Shechina incessantly, that is, absolutely completely without any gaps and reductions.

And the fountain of intelligence (Tvuna), which is that lower part of Bina that transmits the light to Malchut (in us) and high streams of light (Keter, Hochma, Bina) will be as a never ending fountain.

What do we need to do? We need to restore the connection between us, which is called Shechina. It was the Creator who broke it, so that we ourselves could create it from a broken state. This is called raising the Shechinah from the dust. This is what we have to do.

Submit Yourself To The Creator

237Question: You said that we should ask as clearly as possible for our friends. Does this mean inviting the Creator to act in the heart and mind in order to feel the friends closer to oneself?

Answer: I want the Creator to act in my heart, in my head, in my mind, in my whole body so that He would guide my movements, thoughts, and heart, so that He would be in me in everything, organizing and doing it all!

In fact, this is what the Creator does, but we need to reveal Him! This is what I want—to feel that He penetrates my whole being in my mind and in my heart, that He guides everything, and that He determines everything.

I want to go according to what the Creator wants to accomplish in me. And I only give myself to Him, i.e., I restrict my egoism and want Him to do whatever He wants with me.

In The Flame Of Hearts

943

You must always stand guard, all day and all night, when you feel a state of day or feel a state of night. …

It follows that you must awaken the heart of the friends until the flame rises by itself (Rabash, Letter 24).

If we are in mutual guarantee in the group, then each of us steps in and out of it in order to move to a new state, to a new desire. So, this is a gradual process.

Even maintaining a flame is a fickle process because it involves oxidation, ignition, etc. This comes precisely from a spiritual foundation.

Therefore, constant concern for mutual support gradually leads to the fact that the flame in our hearts will be burning on its own.

Connection Is The Creator

940Question: How much have we filled the space between us during this convention?

Answer: At this congress, we have reached a good state. I do not know how much it will remain in you. But if you listen to the congress lessons again and again, it will enter more and more deeply into you, and you will be able to start implementing it correctly.

You will feel that you are participants in this movement where you discover the distance between you and want to fill it with connection. The connection is the Creator. He should give us the strength to come closer to each other and to fill the distance.

The distance is our egoism, and the Creator must shine His light upon us. Then this distance will change, it will turn from separation to connection. And thus, we will be moving forward.

Re-listen to the lessons of the convention, and you will hear them every time in a new way. Especially the previous two lessons: “Going with Faith above Reason” and “Working in Mutual Responsibility.” This is very important. But, in principle, I would advise listening to all the lessons again and again, even excerpt by excerpt, no matter how.

Mutual Guarantee Check

528.02Question: Can I check for myself whether I am fulfilling the mutual guarantee? Or can only my friends assess it?

Answer: The group can assess whether you are fulfilling the mutual guarantee or not. You cannot do it yourself. Only your connection in the group makes it possible to feel how much you are in the mutual guarantee.

Question: How can I be sure that the mutual guarantee ship is sailing in the right direction?

Answer: From what you feel in your friends. If you feel that you can cheer them up, connect them together, direct them to the goal, and give them inspiration, then you draw conclusions based on this.

When you can see the result of your actions in your friends, then you will definitely have an indication of whether you are doing the right thing and to what extent.
