Taking Care of the Friends

528.01Question: How can I lift a friend’s spirit if I myself am in a descent?

Answer: You should come to the lessons and meetings in order to lift your and everyone else’s spirits, and do not fall onto the group without preparation, with your negative mood.

Question: What should we do when a friend has a problem and we feel it, but he does not ask for help from the group?

Answer: We must, without naming names, perform actions that will help everyone to gather together, connect, and correctly aim ourselves at the Creator.

As a result, we will get what we are yearning for—the next, spiritual, degree.

Every Day Should Be as New in Your Eyes

291Each day we must give to the Creator everything that he has been through, whether Mitzvot or transgressions, and begin anew (Rabash, Letter No. 29).

Question: While working in the ten and in the group, very often we take inspiration from past conventions. What does the article mean when it says: Give to the Creator everything that we have been through whether Mitzvot or transgressions and begin anew?

Answer: Every day, we must start with a clean slate, as it is written: “Each day, they will be as new in your eyes.” In this way we start every day with a clean slate; based on yesterday’s and past achievements, I do today’s work much better.

Question: But Rabash writes to forget the past. What should I forget?

Answer: You are not interested in what happened. You take only the work you can do and the data you have today.

Question: What can I take from yesterday?

Answer: You are already taking everything you have from yesterday. But the most important thing is that you do not want to repeat yesterday, every day should be as new in your eyes.

Ask the Creator to Help Us

938.01Question: You often say that the minimum number is two. And yet, how can the little tens be sure at this convention that they will receive support, that they are like a full-fledged Kli?

Answer: This is what the convention is organized for, so that all the small groups come together and form one big Kli. Therefore there is no need to worry that there are groups of three or four people. It does not matter; we unite together into one Kli and turn from it to the Creator.

There are several thousand of us, and therefore small groups are included in all the others.

Question: In spirituality does each of us have one’s own work and no one else will do my work for me?

Answer: We each have our own and at the same time joint work. Therefore no one will do either one of the jobs for us. Our job is to ask the Creator to help us. This is the most important thing.

The Long-Sought Meeting

939.01The essence of the assembly is for everyone to be in one unity and for all to seek but one purpose: to find the Creator (Maor VaShemesh, VaYechi).

Question: We will have many different actions at the convention. How exactly do we hold on to being in unity and “finding the Creator“?

Answer: We have no other goal. We want to connect with each other, discover the Creator, and come closer to Him.

He, for His part, will influence us and help us unite and reveal Him. This is how we will meet.

The most important thing for us is the Creator. He is between us, fills us, raises us, connects us, and leads us to complete correction where we adhere with Him.

Give Oneself to the Common Desire

938.04Everything you will hear, see, and feel at the convention, you must keep within yourself in order to pass on to others. In addition to lessons, you will have all kinds of virtual meetings. Try to briefly convey to each other your inspiration and desire for connection so that we are all in the same heart, meaning in the same desire.

We must give ourselves to the common desire to unite, so that everyone connects through us and there is a single desire in which we reveal the Creator.

To give oneself means not to have any desires of your own, but only the desire to connect everyone.

Attack on Connection

943Question: How can we create such an atmosphere at the convention that the state of connection is our only desire and nothing distracts us from it?

Answer: You enter the convention completely empty of all your duties, deeds, and thoughts. There is nothing but thoughts of unity, only about it, nothing else.

Question: How do we seriously approach the work of creating a unified desire?

Answer: You must agree on this with each other before the convention—don’t utter empty words but only what is necessary to connect your hearts.

Question: What should our attack on connection look like during the convention?

Answer: To connect with each other so that there is no free space either in everyone’s heart or between us. We will succeed; you will see. You will suddenly feel that you have the strength, the desire, and the thoughts that you can do it.

Questions about Spiritual Work—71

507.05Question: If there is a sense of detachment in relation to the connection, then what should our orientation be when everything is open and there is nothing definite?

Answer: You must break all the bad ties between you, instead restore good ties, and think only about how to turn into one big Kli together. You do not need anything else, just to become one single heart.

Question: What does it mean that as the differences are corrected they disappear? After all, everyone has their own root of the soul, and connection allows you to reveal even more clearly the individual characteristics of each desire.

Answer: Although the individual characteristics of each are revealed more clearly, the direction is the same. The meaning of spiritual ascent is for everyone to unite and create a single network that will connect all hearts.

Question: I feel like I do not know how to connect all the World Kli in my heart. But I know you can do it. Can I add my intention to yours?

Answer: Please, I am open to everyone in the world, absolutely everyone. Therefore, join me, I will join you, and together we will strive for complete connection.

On the Eve of the Convention

938.03Question: On the eve of the convention, I experience two states: excitement and joy. I would like to know which of them should I pay more attention to?

Answer: We should be glad that we have the opportunity to come a little closer to the Creator, and we are together on the path to this.

Question: What is this inner work of everyone at the convention that will be broadcast outwardly so that those nearby can hear and see something from everyone about the work of the Creator?

Answer: We need to feel our desire in such a way that it comes from the heart and affects the desires of everyone. After all, we want to be so connected with each other that everything that we have in our hearts is fulfilled.

Invite the Creator

939.02How can we, together with our friends, invite the Creator to our meal? This is not difficult at all. The Creator is not proud and does not require a special invitation.

If we have even a slight desire for Him to be among us, He will come and be with us at our meal and at our gathering.

There is no force in the world softer, more yielding, more understanding, and more responsive to us than the Creator. Certainly, He will be with us at our Kabbalah convention.

But if we want to be with Him, that is a completely different and more complex question. For this, we need to acquire His qualities and get closer to Him together and feel this closeness as the greatest reward among all existing in reality.

Then we have this chance. However, only to the extent that we are ready to become similar to Him, to this force, which is immense not because of its great power, but due to the willingness to lower Himself and secretly help each of us in such a way that we do not feel it. This is entirely opposite to our egoistic nature.

Michael Laitman on the Times of Israel: “World Kabbalah Convention, January 2024
World Kabbalah Convention, January 2024

We have just finished our World Kabbalah Convention with Kabbalah students attending from all around the world. Everything we did—the study, the meals, the social discussions and the songs—was aimed at a heart-to-heart connection to reach a whole prayer.

It was truly the first convention of its kind in its profound internality. It was something indeed very special, and it now serves as an example for the future.

Around the world, students connected virtually from dozens of countries, and in some cases, students traveled long distances to gather physically in mirror conventions in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Florida, Toronto, Guadalajara, Sao Paulo, Santiago, Togo, Barcelona, Dordrecht, Vilnius, Minsk, Tbilisi, Kyiv, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Crimea, Vladivostok, Baku, Budišov, Astana and Almaty.

In Israel, over 1,600 students gathered in our center from all over the country, including many evacuees from the north and the south, as well as many with sons and daughters serving in the army. Along with the difficult states we are experiencing in Israel and around the world, the heartfelt connection we established at this convention was sure to bring great contentment and joy to the Creator. I hope that we continue turning to the Creator, and that we will continue supporting and encouraging each other to positively connect and continue bringing the Creator contentment.
