Manifestation of the Spiritual Structure

938.05Question: If I look at the group, at the spiritual environment, and at the same time try to focus on the Creator, on the point of unity, how does the structure of the ten Sefirot manifest itself?

Answer: We are gradually beginning to feel that there is a living network of connections between us that is always in motion, in transformation. As a result, we will experience various attitudes from our friends, from the world, from our surrounding, and we will begin to define these movements.

We need to reach a state where we find ourselves completely dependent, connected, and glued together to the extent that the internal changes of each of us will affect everyone.

In Kabbalah, this is called adhesion (Dvekut). Then we will see how in achieving this gluing between us the Creator begins to manifest Himself. This glue itself is Him who determines our spiritual states. This is how we will work and reveal spirituality.

A Gift from the Congress

942How can we unite as one man if everyone is initially so different? There is not a single person who is absolutely similar to another. And the whole nature is arranged in such a way that each being has unique qualities that distinguish him from others and are even opposite to them.

Therefore, all our work is done above our qualities. We cannot correct them; we can only attract the upper force, the reforming light, so that it connects us.

And then we will be able to be together, and to the extent of our connection, we will again become one body, one desire, one intention, called Adam HaRishon, and so we will achieve the goal of creation.

We do not need to look at how different we are, but despite all the differences we need to look for how to unite into one vessel for the sake of one goal, one Creator. And then all the differences that originally existed in us, which we could not correct but could only rise and unite above, will benefit us and strengthen the force of our unity.

Therefore, at the upcoming convention, we need to try to unite and inspire each other in order to advance. The convention gives everyone a unique opportunity to be inspired by thousands of people and then bring these impressions to their tens, thus gaining power many times greater than what they had before the convention.

This is a special gift, a special power that can be obtained during the convention, and that is why we are gathering in it. Each of us has a very small, tiny force. But when we unite, our forces are incorporated into one another and form one huge force.

Therefore, do not miss this opportunity. All we need these days is to be impressed by each other, by how much a whole swarm of opposing, alien forces lives in everyone, but I want to accept this force and get involved in this connection.

A Special Call of Our Time

231.01In order to allow us to attain the essence of creation, its inner strength, which is the Creator, the creation first reveals its shattering to us. Then its elements begin to connect with each other: first atoms, molecules, simple organisms, then the male and female parts of creation.

In the end, the connection reaches not only the inanimate, vegetative, and animate levels, but also the human level, that is, connection based on characters, views, mutual connection, and the birth of common offspring.

In this way, we develop more and more until we realize the need for an increasingly internal connection between us, and then we discover our oppositeness, mutual hatred, and rejection. The more these forces grow within us, the more we develop within the contrast of these opposites.

This contradiction lies within each of us, opposite desires and problems, because of this we want to unite but cannot do so. This is how we follow the path of our development, connect into different groups, nations, countries, parties, and all kinds of associations, and in this form reach our time divided into nationalities, states, and families.

But now the time has come to go through a very special stage of development and discover that we must rise above all our differences. That is, the unity should no longer be on a corporeal level, but on a spiritual one. This is the call of the times we find ourselves in; it requires us to rise above all contradictions.

Let us hope that we can understand this requirement and implement it so that we can ultimately reach one commonality as one man.

“What is our purpose in creation?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What is our purpose in creation?

The human being is the center of creation and is its purpose. The upper force of love and bestowal in reality, which Kabbalists call “the Creator” and “Nature,” created us in order to raise us to the highest possible degree: to identify with the upper force.

The process of attaining similarity with the upper force is called a process of correction. In this process, we acquire the qualities of love and bestowal. This process is also called the “attainment of the Creator,” and it is the ultimate purpose of our creation in this world. Why? It is because we were created with a nature of wishing solely to enjoy, and attaining the Creator is the greatest and most satisfying form of enjoyment we could possibly reach. Unlike our corporeal pleasures in this world—for food, sex, family, money, honor, control and knowledge, which all fade away—the pleasure of attaining the Creator is eternal and perfect.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, we were initially created as a single soul called “Adam HaRishon” (Hebrew for “The First Man”), after which we shattered into 600,000 parts. Every part undergoes an independent process of correction. The correction of each part gives it the possibility to be filled with the upper force, or in other words, a feeling of the Creator. The feeling of the Creator filling us gives us access to what are called “spiritual worlds.”

The purpose of creation is thus that the Creator will completely fulfill us. For the time being, however, our souls are in a state called “this world,” where we have no feeling of the Creator. In such a state, it is considered that the Creator is concealed from us. (The word for “world” [“Olam”] in Hebrew connects to the same linguistic root as the word for “concealment” [“He’elem”].)

When the soul perceives contact with the Creator for the first time, it rises to its first spiritual degree. It then begins to make itself resemble the Creator more and more, and by doing so, it feels the upper force with increasing intensity and sensitivity. When all the parts of the soul become fully corrected, they then rise to a state called “the end of correction” (“Gmar Tikkun”).

“What should Israel do next in light of their declaration of war?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What should Israel do next in light of their declaration of war?

First, we should reflect deeply upon the painful divide that has festered among us, causing the devastating toll of hundreds of lives lost and thousands wounded. We need to yearn for a major change and wholeheartedly unite as one. Only the bonds of unity can shield us from future tragedy and elevate our nation from the abyss of despair.

We cannot afford to nurse bitterness or delay action, waiting for the war’s end to ponder our fractured state. Now is the time for introspection. We need to pinpoint the reasons behind our present circumstances and act accordingly.

Our quest for understanding needs to extend to our lives’ very source: the upper force of love, bestowal and connection that acts on us beyond our current level of awareness, which perceives through an egoistic and divisive lens. It is no matter of religion, but a realization that reality’s governing force is singular, and we accordingly need to stand united before it as one.

Precisely in our trying times, we are in need for an expansion of consciousness to let the upper force of love and bestowal into our lives. We need to raise the pain and anguish that erupts in so many people in such times to the upper force, and wish for it to mend our torn relations, and draw us closer together. We must seek to hold each other close to our hearts, not solely in times of war, but as an enduring duty.

We are a nation established not on a biological foundation, but on a spiritual-ideological one: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” That is, we were people from all around ancient Babylon who felt a problem with living our lives solely according to competitive-materialistic ideals and sought for a higher truth to our existence, which we revealed as a higher force of love, bestowal and connection that united us above our divisive drives. That is why we cannot remain divided without suffering from our separation.

Our mission to unite above our divisions is constant, because divisive egoistic desires constantly surface within us, driving us apart. Therefore, much like a diligent student who finds new homework awaiting them each day, we should not accumulate any more overdue assignments that end up exploding in our faces, pressuring us into critical situations such as the one we now find before us. Instead, we should hurry up and correct our hearts to favor unity “as one man with one heart” above our divisions.

Multiplying Efforts

275If we could see through nature, we would discover how much each part of nature is in opposition and separation from the rest of the parts.

The same thing happens between people; no one is like the other. But it is precisely due to the fact that we are so different that we can rush toward each other and find such a connection that will multiply our efforts.

The Creator purposely broke us at the very beginning of creation and thus gave us the opportunity to overcome this separation and feel our connection at the end of creation 620 times stronger than at its beginning.

Habit and Faith

32.02Question: “Why am I doing this? Who obliges me?” We ask these questions at the beginning of the work, and then it becomes our habit. What is the difference between faith and habit?

Answer: Habit is a second nature, as if you received it from above and it is not in your power to go against habit.

Faith is something that you must constantly support and strengthen by devoting strength, patience, and training to this.
