Question: You said that if the Kli feels that it is in equivalence with the light, then the connection between them is correct and good. But if not, it means that both of them must develop. While the development of the Kli can be somehow understood, what does the development of the light mean?
Answer: In the mutual influence of the light on the Kli and the Kli on the light, we see from the very first action to what extent they determine each other’s state.
Therefore, we must try to feel that if we do not expand the Kli, we cannot receive greater influence from the light.

Questions about Spiritual Work – 251

The entire mission of a person that exists in the special reality called this world is to reveal that he or she is under the complete authority of the upper force and to identify oneself with it.
In order for a person to discover oneself as existing, one has been given the evil inclination, that is, thoughts and desires opposite to the upper force, given deliberately so that he himself may affirm the oneness of the Creator in all of creation and desire to be merged with Him.
A person must reveal that in him, in his thoughts and in his desires, the upper force reigns, and that it is precisely this force that arranges all the data from which he perceives the entire reality: himself and the surrounding world. And likewise, outside of him, in what he perceives as external, it is the same force that determines everything and paints the picture of the world for him.
And in this too, there is none else besides Him, while the Creator presents Himself to a person in all kinds of forms, in millions of details that compose this picture.
A person must, through great and very difficult efforts that require much time, reveal that there is none outside but the Creator, including all of the still, vegetative, and animate nature, and human beings.
And the person himself is under the complete authority of the Creator, apart from that single point from which he observes everything and affirms the oneness of the Creator in all of reality. This point must be outside the Creator, although it too is artificial and exists only because the Creator created it so. And yet, since it exists, a person can decree that indeed there is none else besides the Creator.
This is our entire work. And we have no other commandment than to decree and to reveal that the Creator is One in all possible forms, states, actions, names: Adonai, Elochim, and others. All of them speak only of the upper force that arranges the whole of reality for us. And we, by revealing this force as “There is none else besides Him” in each state, attain a certain rung of the spiritual ladder.

Seeing The Uniqueness Of The Creator
Come, See, Reveal…
If The Creator Is All, Where Am I?
When we begin to study the wisdom of Kabbalah, at first, we do not understand the inner meaning of each word, nor do we reveal the upper force that stands behind it. But gradually, we begin to uncover deeper meaning.
That is, I am no longer simply reading a word, but I start to feel and reveal the spiritual object that stands behind it, gradually emerging as if from a fog.
This is how we slowly reach spiritual attainment. It turns out that there are two stages: education and attainment. Education means that we are studying, but have not yet attained, we are only approaching the meaning. And later, we begin to truly attain it.
The point is that attainment does not depend on how well a person has studied or how thoroughly they know everything written in the book. That is not important at all. What matters most is that one corrects one’s egoistic quality and transforms it from reception to bestowal, to love for others.
It may even happen that one is not very knowledgeable about the material, not particularly clever. But if they have corrected their attitude toward others, then within this corrected relationship they will sense spiritual concepts and attain them.
Question: How can I study if I cannot rely on my own mind, do not understand the meaning of what is written, and have never experienced spiritual attainment? For example, if I were learning Chinese, I would learn new words every day and gradually begin to understand what is written.
Answer: That is because, in the case of Chinese, you are dealing with a reality that you perceive. But Kabbalah speaks of a reality that you do not yet feel. Therefore, you can read these books for a thousand years and still not understand what they are talking about.
The whole question is: How can one attain the sensation of what one is reading about?
And this sensation is possible only on the condition that we acquire the quality of bestowal in addition to the quality of reception we were born with. We spend our entire lives developing these inborn receiving qualities, learning more and more about how to receive. All our thoughts in this world are only about how to obtain as much benefit as possible and avoid harm.
But now we need to unite with other people and start working for them, caring about giving them what benefits them and protecting them from harm, as if they were our own babies. However, when it comes to our own babies, we are driven by instinctive, natural love, the kind that parents in this world naturally possess. But regarding other people, we must develop such an attitude in opposition to our egoism and against its resistance. And this is not simple at all.
Yet, if we succeed in doing this, we will build a connection on a new level, above rejection. Below remains egoism, aversion to others, separation, but above all that, I build a connection with them.
Then between the minus below and the plus above, we create various forms of connection within which circulation begins and a new force emerges, a force called the upper force.

Can Anyone Study Kabbalah?
How Should We Study The Wisdom Of Kabbalah?
Question: What is your advice to young people who are starting a life together with the feeling that everything will be fine for them and that they will live together for a long time, forever?
Answer: It takes a lot of long, even tedious, conversations with each other. Pour out everything you think and so should your partner, like two researchers. Gradually, you will reach a state where you both begin to examine yourselves and one another, and your partner will also examine himself and you.
Then it turns out that life becomes interesting and it becomes a study: how can we change our relationship, make it different somehow, and get closer? What if we do it this way? What if that way? And constantly try to reveal these qualities, feelings, and relationships as vividly as possible.
If people think about this and understand it, then somewhere after fifty or sixty years, this is what happens. That is all. Until then, it is: “If youth only knew, if old age only could.”
Comment: So this turns out to be the golden rule. Let’s hope some kind of change happens.
My Response: The time will come, and people will live like this. But we can already teach them! This is what must be added. We can teach these young ones how to become researchers. We can “age” them through our lessons, so to speak. They can undergo a kind of practicum.
Question: Even before they have joined together? To prepare them for this life?
Answer: Yes, of course. Then they will already know how to act—this way or that.
Question: So you are saying that young people should come to the wedding to unite together already as if they were old people?
Answer: Yes, inside. Of course. Will they discover on their own who they are? No. They must come with experience in communication, psychological communication, so to speak. This will give them confidence that they can overcome all sorts of difficulties in closeness and even turn those difficulties into greater contact.
Comment: Beautiful! We are talking about a scientific laboratory.
My Response: Yes. Oh, how much the world needs this!
