Question: A person today uses two to three percent of his brain’s abilities. Is it possible to say that all 100 percent were created precisely to work with a complete sense of bestowal and love?

Answer: This isn’t enough. This is only a small part of our capabilities. In fact, by fulfilling others and the Creator, we receive the desire and mind of those whom we fulfill. We completely cover the entire world in all its states.

Torah, Deuteronomy, 28:36: The Lord will lead you and your king whom you will have established over you, to a nation unknown to you or your fathers; and there, you will serve other deities [made] of wood and stone.

The Creator will lead you to a state toward which your egoism aspires, because you do not deserve anything else. And you will worship “other deities of wood and stone,” meaning that which has no connection to the truth.

Today we worship the radio, television, Internet, and all sorts of pseudo-spiritual practices. We engage in educational methods that are useless in principle, and sciences that research only our world, giving us greater penetration into matter (egoism).

We are happy that we can turn matter into anything we want. But for what? Does this give us anything? We have to develop inside of us rather than outside. Yet we have gone the opposite way. For tens of thousands of years, we have been preoccupied with controlling the still, vegetative, and animate degrees of nature, and we exist only for the sake of this.

However, the time now is special. Now we finally have an opportunity to become aware of the dead-end of our development because evolution is bringing humanity to the realization that there is nowhere to keep going.

So what lies ahead for us? Unemployment and emptiness, because robots will replace us in all the jobs. Robots will replace drivers, doctors and employees in the service industry. And what will we do? Perhaps we will tune out and be half-asleep by means of drugs or will freeze ourselves and wait thousands of years for someone to unfreeze us? This is what the world is moving toward.

Indeed, what else can we do with our egoistic desire? Having achieved the maximum, it is practically forcing us to go into all sorts of illusions.

In the meantime, people are incessantly watching TV shows and writing to each other on Facebook and other social networks. But, in principle, we are approaching a state where it will be better to take a pill and fall asleep. Or connect an electrode to our ears that will constantly play movies in front of us while we are half asleep.

That same electrode will allow us to feel all sorts of tastes, smells, and sensations. You will feel that someone is hugging you, that you are having sex or eating some exquisite dishes, and so on.

Comment: Sometimes people even long for this state, in order to tune out from it all…

Answer: Of course they do! This is egoistically justified.

If humanity were able to do this, then of course it would. But the fact of the matter is that there is a program of creation that is above us, and it won’t allow us to dive into this pink fog.

Question: So man won’t fall asleep?

Answer: It is possible, but only for the sake of the realization of evil. We will have to become aware of this possibility as well, along with the evil inherent in it. It is possible that one generation will fall through the cracks, but that doesn’t matter. In our world the bodies are born and die, but the souls are always circulating. Therefore, we will get through all of this.

Question: What kind of force does a Kabbalist insert into the Kabbalistic texts? Is it capable of developing new sensory organs in us?

Answer: A Kabbalistic book is a wondrous book, not the sheets of paper we see in our world. A book written by a Kabbalist looks like symbols on paper, like all other books, but these symbols are connected with the spiritual force of the one who wrote them and with his attainments.

Therefore, when reading this book, we want to attain what its author attained and to feel what he felt.

This is similar to reading some novel, but the difference is in the author. A novel is written by a person of this world, and the Kabbalistic book by a Kabbalist in his attainment in the spiritual world. This attainment in relation to us is called Surrounding Light.

We still don’t attain what he attained, but by connecting to him and by wanting to become like him, we attract the illumination to us that changes us and prepares us to also begin feeling the spiritual world.

Question: What if I just read the book without intention to attract the Light?

Answer: In that case, it hardly works. After all, there is no coercion in spirituality; if you want to move forward, the Light promotes you, and if you don’t want to advance, it doesn’t work. Advancement depends on our intention and desire to understand what is being read. In proportion to our desire to understand what the Kabbalist wrote, we awaken the influence of the Surrounding Light.

Question: Then why doesn’t the book work if I just read it since it has the power of the Kabbalist in it?

Answer: The Kabbalist gives you Light, but you don’t want it and so you don’t receive it. There is a desire to give from his side, but there is no desire to receive it from your side. Hence, we disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah so widely and care that all the people will know about it. Otherwise, they will remain without spiritual attainment.

Moreover, you don’t even have to know the language. If you listen when people read a Kabbalistic text and you really want to understand it, then you will advance spiritually.

Question: Why do we need a book if desire is the most important thing?

Answer: We won’t have connection with the Kabbalist who is in the spiritual attainment without a book. Connection appears only through the text. If you listen when somebody reads this text, even without knowing the language, but you want very much to attain what the author attained, then you attract the Surrounding Light to yourself.

Question from Facebook: Why does everyone complain about life, yet do not want to change anything?

Answer: Because you can complain about the fact that you do not have something: “Give it to me!” And to change means that I have to give something from myself. How can you?! I want to turn the world around so that I don’t have to do anything and yet have everything.

This is the desire of our egoism. You cannot escape this.

Therefore, of course, a person’s desire is to complain about himself, the world, his fate, the Creator, everything. In the end, of course, it is the Creator, because He determines everything.

Man feels himself to be the only existing exceptional creation. The sensation of uniqueness is an exclusive experience for each of us where it seems to me that only I alone exist and the rest are just like shadows around me.

And if someone should change, it is him or her, not me. I’m remaining “Me”!

A person must change himself in order for the world around him to change. Do you want to change the world? Very good. Just change yourself so that changes in you influence the world. And it can be done. You can change yourself every second, and the world around you will change.

Question: How does a person come to this decision?

Answer: Only when one begins to understand that there is only the Creator and oneself in the world, and the world is a kind of phantom sensation between them.

Question: Doesn’t this add pride to a person, as if there is only the Creator and me?

Answer: No, because by changing oneself to change the world, one gradually minimizes his or her egoism and then the world changes. He includes himself in others and others in himself, and so attains the properties of mutual bestowal.

Question: When do we come to such understanding?

Answer: Not all people come to understand this, but only those who have what is called a point in the heart. They can feel the inner qualities of the world and realize that the world is only a certain unreality of our internal properties that we imagine, a reflection of ourselves to the upper Light.

Therefore, there is nothing to complain about. Complain to yourself—this is the most true. Every character and everything that is in our world: inanimate, plant, animal, and especially people, all are your internal characteristics that you see outside of yourself. No one can make claims to anyone except to himself.

Only by changing yourself, will you change the world: for better—for the better, for the worst—for the worst. So decide in which direction. With what help? There is only one way: the science of Kabbalah.

Question: What is the secret of reading The Book of Zohar? You say that what is written in it is about love and bestowal. However, is it possible to devote 100 volumes to that?! What is written there?

Answer: The Book of Zohar describes all the phases and stages of correction of the soul, and there are many phases and stages. They include 620 desires, each one of them requiring correction from absolute egoistic reception to absolute altruistic bestowal, from absolute hatred to absolute love.

Each one of the desires must be attached to all the rest of the desires so that they will become one single network. When a person creates this network, within it he begins to discover the upper world and the higher power, the Creator.

Question: What could be the harm from a premature revelation of the Creator?

Answer: There cannot be a premature revelation of the Creator. The Creator is revealed according to the principle of equivalence of form: like is revealed in like.

Just like in our world, we see, sense, hear, and understand other people only to the extent to which we are similar to them. Thus, if we build the qualities that are similar to the Creator in ourselves, then in them we will perceive Him.

In order to create such qualities, we need a group in which we can acquire the property of bestowal, love, emanating ourselves into others, and so on. It is there that the Creator will be revealed.

Baal HaSulam, “The Last Generation”: Each and every one must endeavor, according to this religion, to constantly improve the standard of living of the world, so that all those who come in it will take pleasure in their lives and enjoy life more and more.

A person must come to a state when he gives all his strength toward the practical development and improvement of the world with no regard for the self. Because only by behaving this way will people have all their needs provided for and be absolutely certain that these needs will always be provided for them because everyone will be concerned about everyone else.

We will actually come to the most positive state of the world, because in relating to each other with kindness toward all, we will create a special kind of network of connection between us in which we reveal the quality of the Creator, the quality of love and bestowal. This will actually be achieving the purpose for this world.

During this process, each will begin to be freed from their fears, their suffering, and their problems, and will experience themselves on the next level, released from their egoist desire and all that is associated with it. We will begin to experience ourselves on the level of the Creator, individually and collectively.

It is written: “…so that all those who come in it will take pleasure in their lives and enjoy life more and more.” Joy is expressed when we become liberated from all the limitations of our world and experience the opposite, entering a state of adhesion with the upper world, eternal, limitless, perfect.

Question: Here it is written that each must endeavor to constantly improve the standard of living of the world. Does that mean that if a person doesn’t do this, he will be breaking the law?

Answer: Of course. Each must give the society everything that he can. This is the law of life for the last generation.

Torah, Deuteronomy 28:25: The Lord will cause you to be broken before your enemy: you will come out against them in one direction, but you will flee from them in seven directions. And you will become a terrifying [example] to all the kingdoms on earth.

If you identify your desires as enemies and are not able to defeat them, you will escape from them in seven ways.

“You will come out against them in one direction…,” like Malchut, which reflects the Light that comes to it in one way. “You will flee from them in seven directions,” as Malchut exits from this place through ZAT: Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malchut. That is, if you cannot overcome your enemies, then you must run away from them by means of all your properties, and in total there are seven in a person. Conversely, if you start to overcome this place, you will be blessed seven times because you will cover everything with one common property. This already relates to GAR—the head part of your soul.
