Developing A Career: Personal or Collective?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Today developing a career is still something very common. Despite the fact that the motivation is disappearing for people, behind their aspiration for developing a career is hidden a kind of bright dream, a hope to improve their condition somehow. How will a desire to develop a career be satisfied in the integral collectives and will this exist there?

Answer: It is difficult to say. As a whole, people are satisfied with what they have, for in an integral society the materialistic motivation to command someone or move something will disappear.

In principle, this work satisfies them, at least workshops instill in them the required new motivation, giving them a new mission and they begin to discuss and to resolve problems between them and rise up in this way.

But in fact, for every person in this collective, the pressure or attraction to rise to some other level, to a new division, to another system disappears. Perhaps it would only be in a circumstance where you are yourself leading the collective onward, aspiring to transform it for the next levels of implementation and management, and so forth.
