Answers To Your Questions, Part 179

laitman_961.1Question: When and through whom did the law “And you shall love your neighbor as yourself” appear for the first time? Is it possible to reference the source? The accepted opinion is that the law appeared in the book of Leviticus, and there is an opinion that the law was proclaimed by Rabbi Akiva.

Answer: This law is a law about the general behavior of all parts of creation as a single network, and it doesn’t matter how or by whom it was written. But it is possible to look in Bereshit Rabba 24. “Love thy neighbor as thyself (Leviticus 19, 18) Rabbi Akiva says: it is a great rule in the Torah”

Question: Why is it written in The Book of Zohar that evil is a necessary condition for life on the face of the Earth, and that through the sin Adam produced other people? If all earthliness was created by God according to His form and image, who created evil and for what, and why does God blame a person and hate and punish the wicked? How can a perfect God create an ugly sin?

Answer: It is said by the Creator: “I created the evil inclination and I created the Torah as a spice, for the Light in it brings him back to the good.” (Kiddushin 30:2)

They Don’t Want To Have Children

Question from Facebook: Women today don’t want to have children. Things were different in my time. Today my daughter doesn’t want to hear what I have to say about the motherly instinct and that it is the greatest thing there is. What is happening to women today?

Answer: Our egoism keeps growing and determines how humanity advances and how it evolves. People don’t want to have families anymore, to see their relatives, or to have children.

They think more about the fact that it will be too costly, and they care only about loving themselves. Therefore, as far as they are concerned, there is no point having children and bringing them up so that at the age of 20 they will leave home without even saying goodbye.

Question: How can a woman feel happy about being a mother again?

Answer: If a woman can be certain that what she is doing is for some good. And today there is no benefit for her, the child, or society—no one.

Society does not need people because robots are replacing them today. A child has no benefit from being born into this world. What is he born for? In order to do drugs later on in life or to be unemployed? His mother has no benefit from that because she serves him and takes care of him for 20 years and then he disappears.

Therefore, looking at this reality, she prefers to dedicate this time to herself, to friends, to spending time in clubs, traveling, and various other engagements. We see that women today manage very well with this.

Question: When would women feel the benefit of having children?

Answer: Only if they discover that they have a new goal in life that cannot be attained without a family and children. This goal is to discover together with her husband and children the next level of their development, which means the upper world.

There should be a certain connection in the family between the parents and the children where they can discover the Creator between them, and the woman, like the Creator, gives birth to a human being and in this action feels that she is like the Creator. Without this goal, she feels unfulfilled. We should return to this state.

This will only happen after humanity begins to acquire a new nature, the attribute of love and bestowal.

Laitman_510_01Question: Sometimes in conventions I feel like I am in a suit of armor: everyone around me is happy and full, while I feel empty. What should I do?

Answer: You must “turn-off your head,” become integrated with others, start dancing, or do something else. If nothing helps at all, then go to the kitchen to peel vegetables.

Question: How can one ascend to the common desire?

Answer: You must uncover the yearning for the Creator within yourself. Leave the physical body below and raise the yearning for the Creator, uniting with all the friends.

Question: I am a practical person, not a theoretician or a mystic. If I don’t nullify myself and annihilate my egoism, then I won’t get to the practical work. How can I nullify my ego from within the ego itself?

Answer: First, you don’t nullify the ego; the upper Light that you arouse does. Second, the ego is necessary for us and in no manner should it be annihilated. It is forbidden to annihilate anything in nature! It is only up to us to rise above the egoism in the direction of connection and love.

Question: Why is it not possible to defeat a city of wicked who are standing together as one person?

Answer: It is not possible to defeat them because they also have the power of connection, which attracts the upper Light to them; as long as the upper Light is found among them, it is not possible to defeat them. They are under the protection of the Creator even though they are completely opposite from Him. The Creator is the general law of nature.

Question: Why do people who gather together in a large mass, as for example at rock concerts or soccer games, experience ecstasy?

Answer: They experience this because their desires are gathered together, but this has nothing to do with spirituality.

Question: Baal HaSulam wrote to his seven students that it was enough to gather their sparks in one place to discover spiritual worlds. If so, why is it necessary to gather so many people in a convention?

Answer: We are living in a different period in which it is necessary to gather greater and greater amounts of people. I hope that the great number of people will attain the intensity of a common power, which will truly be according to the first spiritual level, so that we will begin to feel the shared power within us already, in the connection between us.

For Baal HaSulam there were other students and other circumstances. It was much simpler and easier for them, while for us it is much more complicated and difficult.

What Does The Future Hold?

Laitman_512_02Question from Facebook: What you say is scary. There are those who say that pessimistic predictions invoke pessimistic thoughts in people. Is this how we shape our reality?

Answer: I am not trying to scare anyone. I am talking about what we should expect if we don’t actively participate in our evolutionary process that develops under the influence of the ego, and therefore, we have to do something.

We are leading ourselves to doom and destruction, from bad situations to even worse situations. Everyone can see what is happening in the world. I am not a prophet, I am simply pointing out the current situation because I have a remedy for the harmful actions that lead to harmful outcomes. Take this remedy from me and everyone will be better off.

But if we close our eyes and wait for what may come, we will reach a state in which the earth will no bear us anymore and society will annihilate itself.

Question: Wouldn’t people understand what is going on if you didn’t tell us what the future holds and what we should do? Must you tell people what is going to happen?

Answer: When I was a kid and went to school my parents told me: “You should be a good student, don’t be lazy. If you study well, you will be a great man, everyone will respect you, you will make money and will be able to provide for your family. But if you don’t, things will be bad.”

If we don’t speak, nothing will affect people. This is the reason that I have to explain the situation.

Please forgive that if what I say may be a burden and that perhaps I am not saying it in a very polite and pleasant manner, but believe me that I am speaking out of my love for you. I want things to be good for you.

The Creator Is On The Right

laitman_212Question from Facebook: Why is Hebrew written from right to left?

Answer: The right line represents wholeness in the system of the upper leadership, whereas the left line is the opposite, full of deficiencies, problems, and corruptions. This is the reason that everything begins from the right side toward the left side.  The Creator is on the right.

Master Of Your Destiny

Laitman_709Request from Facebook: I understood that our world is branches and they have roots. I read a lot of information about our world being managed, that the human brain gets orders from outside. Please explain about the law of branch and root, if it is possible and not complicated.

Answer: According to the law of branch and root, all the signals of control, all the orders, are created at a higher level than this world. Our world is a world of deeds. The upper world is a system of management in which the orders for our world are created and we carry them out subconsciously, even without realizing it. We suddenly feel that some thought, some kind of desire, action, result, or event appears. There is nothing that just happens in nature; everything is closed and everything is rational.

The question is whether there is a link back, a response that returns to the higher management, which we can replace. It is reasonable that this is so.

The more that we become like the higher management, the better the orders are that begin to descend upon us because the higher management will have no need to break us. Our nature and the nature of the higher management will become closer to each other, and then the orders will enter into us in a very logical and orderly manner.

We will begin to carry them out easily and smoothly and will act in accordance with the higher management. To do this, it is up to us to change our nature from a receptive and egoistic nature to a bestowing and altruistic nature.

The nature of the upper world and all of creation is like that, except for humans. A human is an egoist, while all the rest of nature is not. He is mutually connected to one single system and we must become integrated with it.

The wisdom of Kabbalah speaks about this. If we gradually begin to integrate into nature, then we see how all actions and events, all the orders from the higher management will be more pleasant and desirable for us.

Comment: Now almost all scientists say that we are found within a matrix, that our brain is managed, but they don’t know anything beyond that….

My Comment: They don’t understand this system, they don’t feel it.

The wisdom of Kabbalah is good at this because it emotionally inserts the person into the feeling of the higher system and then he understands that he can ascend and enter into its “managerial cell.” In any case, people will be obliged to do this, but the wisdom of Kabbalah will make it possible for them to realize it smoothly and rapidly, without waiting for tragic awakenings from above.

Knowing The Creator’s Mind

laitman_276_02Question from Facebook: How can we know the Creator’s mind?

Answer: The only way we can know the upper mind is through His creation, through the actions that He performs on us. In fact, the whole world, everything that we discover through the wisdom of Kabbalah: the five upper worlds, the world of Ein Sof (Infinity), and everything that happens there is the Creator’s thought.

Question: Can we attain the Creator’s mind in our world?

Answer: It is impossible to understand anything this way. Our world is not even part of the worlds I have mentioned before. It is imaginary and fictitious and exists only in our imagination. It actually does not exist; at the moment, we are in a kind of a dream. The moment we enter the upper world, this world will disappear.

Why Did The Great Kings Of Israel Come From Non-Jews?

laitman_947Question from Facebook: Why was the origin of the greatest kings and teachers of the people of Israel, like King David and Rabbi Akiva, from among those who were not Jews?

Answer: A person who yearns for the Creator is called “Yashar-El” (Yisrael, Straight to the Creator). A person who wants to unite with others is called a “Yehudi” (Jew) from the word “Yechud” (Unification). This is what determines if you are a Jew or not. Today every person in the world, whether he is Spanish, French, Italian, or German, no matter who, can come and say: “I want to be a Jew.” In the wisdom of Kabbalah, they don’t divide the world into nationalities.

To be a Jew, a person must carry out what the Torah says. Namely he must yearn to implement the law “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18). If he agrees to this, it means that he has become a Jew, a person who yearns for unity and unification to adhere with the Creator.

The term “Ivri” (Hebrew) is derived from the word, “L’Over” (to go over), moving from the principle of egoistic existence to altruistic existence. This is the foundation of our people, a group that accepted upon itself the principle, “And you shall love your friend as yourself.” As soon as a person accepts this principle, he becomes a Jew and everyone else, not.

The Unified People Of Europe

Laitman_419Question from Facebook: You have often called for the creation of a single European nation in the European Union. Does this mean that each nation must give up its traditions?

Answer: Traditions can be intermixed. Does anyone know any traditions today? All of this gradually changes, transforms, and evaporates.

Traditions can remain only if we clothe them in correct and good attitudes toward one another, and then they will not interfere. We will happily accept the traditions of one another because they will only help us to cooperate mutually and get closer to each other.

In contrast to this, today the traditions separate us. Therefore, Europe, which is supposedly united, is in fact divided and split into parts, and with each passing day the situation is becoming worse and worse in this union.

The most useful thing would be a joint movement toward the general rule “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18), while everything else combines within this general rule and falls under it. If the principle “And you shall love your friend” includes all the rest of the principles, the traditions will actually help people unite more after all.

All of the traditions and cultures are not going to be lost. We will accept each other’s habits and in this way we will enrich our lives more. We will feel closer and better. But this will happen only if the goal is correct: becoming a single nation under the principle of “love of others.”

Question: Is this even possible?

Answer: We will be obliged to do this! The higher forces of nature are aiming toward this, forcing us to reach this state.

Managing Your Fate

laitman_437Question from Facebook: My life is very hard. I will not bother you with the details. I want to understand what is behind your claim that I can manage my fate.

Answer: Managing your fate means that you must ascend to the root of your fate, to the place where the upper leadership manages us.

The upper leadership seems to be above our world, external to what we feel, but we can impact it by overcoming our ego if we connect in good relations between us. Then we will positively impact our spiritual root, become like it, and thus receive its positive impact on us. This is how we can change our fate.

I am very sorry to hear that your life is hard and that you suffer, but you can totally change your life. Try! You will see how the wisdom of Kabbalah advises you to do so, and I will be very happy to hear that things have changed for you.
