And If A Person Behaves Wickedly

Laitman_004Question from Facebook: You say that it is not necessary to correct the person but only the connections between people. But if a person behaves wickedly, is it possible to build a good connection with him?

Answer: The person by himself is like an ordinary animal; his attitude toward others is naturally, inherently evil, as it is written, “the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth” (Genesis 8:21). After all, the term “Adam” – Man, is determined according to his attitude toward others and toward himself.

Question: Is it possible to build a connection with him if his attitude toward others is bad?

Answer: In this case, it is necessary to put him into a society in which he will feel that he cannot communicate correctly with others, and that is why he loses out in life. He will see how the people around him behave, and through them he will understand that if he doesn’t relate to them correctly, he will not create the right connection with them with the right spiritual intention; so he will remain a beast and will end his life in an even worse state than how he began it.

Why Do We Hate?

laitman_293Question from Facebook: If we, the Jews, are chosen, then why do we hate each other so much?

Answer: Because we are chosen to be the first to correct our egoism. In order to push us to correction, this egoism evokes mutual hatred in us. This is called “the stiff-necked people.”

As for the rest of humanity, they do not have unfounded hatred for each other.

Answers To Your Questions, Part 173

laitman_281_02Question: Which of the following descriptions is closer to the truth?

1) There are wondrous worlds of Light beginning from Ein Sof, but our physical world (below Malchut) is so far from them that within it Gevura (severity) dominates over Hesed. Therefore, it is difficult for a person to see the Hesed (mercy) of the Creator and he suffers.

2) Even in the material world we are as “house guests” of the Creator. All events, even those which cause us suffering, are acts of Hesed from the Creator in relation to us.

Answer: Both descriptions are correct.

Question: As a beginning student, as far as it seems, I have finally understood what a Partzuf is, and I likewise thought that I understood, at least to some extent, the meaning of the Sefirot. Answer: Every Sefira, when it grows, is revealed as a Partzuf.

The Years Do Not Go By In Vain

laitman_219_03Question: Compared to my group, I feel that I lag behind in understanding the necessity for connection between friends. Because of this, I am considering leaving the studies.

Answer: Each one reaches his moment of connection with the group. For some individuals, this takes a few years, for others 20 or even 30 years, as Baal HaSulam writes.

But the moment comes for everyone when he begins to feel that the means for spiritual development comes from connection in a group. And he begins to grow in it. The years that go by do not pass in vain, and specifically those who patiently walk in the dark, as Baal HaSulam writes, gradually rise to great spiritual heights.

Laitman_032_02Question: Often, you give an example of a drop of semen from which a fetus develops. Human semen is a liquid with sperm within it. Nothing can develop from the sperm. Why give an example that sounds erroneous from a scientific point of view?

Answer: That is because this is precisely the way it sounds in the translation from all the Kabbalistic sources!

Question: When I began to study The Book of Zohar, questions popped up for me regarding the following assertion: the Creator has no desire to receive because He is whole. Does it follow that the Creator does not receive pleasure from filling us with pleasure? In this case, what does “for the sake of the Creator” mean? Is it for the sake of his pleasure? After all, He has no desire to receive.

Answer: Quite true, we cannot say that the Creator receives pleasure from fulfilling the creatures. We say this because we cannot describe these actions and relationships other than in the language of our physical feelings.
