“How will people and society change in the future?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: How will people and society change in the future?

We will eventually reach a state where everyone in society will have the same level of prosperity, receiving what we need for a normal life, realizing our full potential to participate in social life by caring for others, and increasing the importance of mutual consideration and responsibility throughout society.

In such a state, we will be able to completely fulfill our passions and desires. We have characteristics such as competitiveness, envy, fervor, fame and control for a reason. Such characteristics will remain the same, but we will find a new way to use them, where instead of using them at the expense of each other, we will use them to benefit and uplift each other.

Reaching a state of mutual consideration and responsibility does not only mean that we will have life’s essentials guaranteed, such as food, shelter, safety, health and education. In addition to receiving life’s essentials, we will be able to continually elevate the quality of life worldwide, while maintaining our balance with nature. Suffering in all of its forms will decrease in such a state, and we will be able to provide all the abundance we want for each other. It is far from being a state where we simply limit ourselves to only supplying for the physical body’s minimal requirements. However, supplying life’s essentials to every person would be an initial target toward such a state.

The future society has several factors that we will need to consider. Will the current experienced systems continue to exist or we will need to create new systems that will be under the constant influence of the same environment and social control? These are very interesting scrutinies, but ultimately we will need to learn how to perfect ourselves and our social environment. That is the basis of a harmonious and peaceful society.

Daily Life of a Kabbalist

963.1Question: You meet a great number of people. How much time do you need to make contact with the person you are talking to?

Answer: Practically I do not make contact with anyone. As a rule, the people I am talking to are my students with whom I discuss not only the issues they are interested in, but also the general issues of our enterprise, the dissemination of Kabbalah in the world, and so on. I do not need to find special contact with them, I just need to understand what they are talking about.

I have a very narrow circle of people with whom I communicate. Mainly our communication is that they ask for my opinion. In addition, I receive a selection of the most interesting materials from scientific or other sites. I take extracts from these materials, write my comment on them, and insert them into the blog.

My blog is designed for a wide range of readers. Of course, Kabbalah or what leads to Kabbalah and why we need it is covered there. But, in general, it is quite simple. It provides material on economics, politics, and teaching so that a person who enters it will receive general information as well.

My students who are engaged in the dissemination of Kabbalah or the methodology of integral education in all types of media also take material from there or simply read them to broaden their horizons. Blogging does not take much time a day, but still, I do it systematically.

In addition to working on Kabbalistic materials, processing and preparation them, I spend the rest of the time mainly shooting programs in our studio. They take three hours a day, in addition to the lesson. This is how my time passes.

I practically do not communicate with anyone else, I do not feel the need for it. What for? What does it give? Once upon a time, I engaged in receiving visitors. Dozens of people came to me every day with their problems.

I very rarely leave the house, go somewhere, or do something outside my office. This is my character, I have no need for it. Also, knowing in advance that this world, in principle, is a theater and vanity, I am not drawn to it, it distracts me. I have always lived and live now within myself; I am this kind of a person initially, even before Kabbalah.

“Does God have feelings?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Does God have feelings?

The Creator’s feelings are limitless. However, we cannot discuss them because our perception and sensation of reality is encased within certain limits.

Based on “Ten Blitz Answers about the Creator” with Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman on May 21, 2022. Written/edited by students of Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman.

Is It Possible to Give Up This World?

423.01Comment: In one of the lessons, you said that the whole reality was created so that I could give it up.

Answer: That is right! Because your egoism shows you the true reality and demonstrates all your inner states so that you rise above them.

Question: We usually perceive life differently. Any person looks at this life as a way of existence. The Kabbalist’s task, on the contrary, is not to use this reality for his own sake. How is this possible?

Answer: The Kabbalist looks at everything revealed to him as the means to ascend.

In our world, a person treats everything from the point of view of how can I swallow it all? The Kabbalist on the contrary from how can I throw it all out of myself and rise above it? This is the use of our world, either one way or another.

For a Kabbalist, this world is needed only as a springboard to jump to the next one. An ordinary person wants to stay in it, live more comfortably, and that is it.

The Truth of the Spiritual Path

294.2Question: You have been practicing Kabbalah for more than thirty years. What is  the confirmation for you that you are on the right path, and this is the goal of your life? Maybe you are at the degree from where you draw confirmation that this is the truth?

Answer: Firstly, I draw confirmation from my spiritual attainment. Secondly, I am not just in doubt, but in search of the best implementation, a softer landing for humanity.

Baal HaSulam in his time traveled to Poland, published a newspaper, and wrote articles for a wide range of people about the method of correcting a person and entering the next degree. But he wrote it in a special way that was accepted a hundred years ago. And I write in a general, more or less understandable way for all people.

I am sure that I am acting correctly based on the degree that I am attaining and from things I understand, this is first. Secondly, if someone came and helped me as a partner, I would be incredibly happy. But, unfortunately, I do not see ones willing or in attainment. In addition, I feel within me a connection with my great teachers, and I try as much as I can do it.

I cannot say that I am one hundred percent implementing everything I would like to do. I have to fight with myself over a lot of things; after all, I am also going through the next stages of elevation. Life goes along the middle line. Not along the right one, which is one hundred percent successful and filled with light, but also not along the left, egoistic one.

With the understanding of all my problems and all my imperfections, I still hope that the Creator has been leading me this way since I came to Rabash and even earlier. And that is how I am going. I have no problem accepting the mission He has entrusted to me.

Everyone has their own mission, and mine is like this. I am not making anything special out of it. After all, the Creator turns everything the way it is necessary for us, and in the end, He will lead us to what is necessary.

I am pleased that I received the opportunity to feel His actions within me: how He acts, how He compels me, and how He controls me from within me. It is a great pleasure for me when I feel what He is doing within me, and I work in unison with Him.

It is called adhesion when you have your own awareness, your own thoughts and feelings, and on the other hand, you feel that He is within you, and you are ready to be with Him.

This is not easy, this is against egoism, against all sorts of doubts and problems. But when you overcome this and feel that you are reaching the same movement, at the same pace, in the same direction in thoughts and feelings – this is, of course, the ultimate pleasure!

However, here as well we still have problems: do you do it in order to reach such a pleasure or for the sake of something else, higher than that. But from all this, a person feels the truth of his condition. It gives him strength.

Internal Restructuring

294.1Question: How can you give up this world, meaning, use it not for one’s own sake?

Answer: And what is there in it that you don’t want to give up? What’s holding you here?

Comment: Actually, nothing holds, but there is some kind of fear.

My Response: It is because you don’t know what you are changing it for! But you are not shown the next world for you not to change “the cow for a bull,” because then you would egoistically want to move to the next world. So how can it be shown to you?! There is no entrance there egoistically!

Surely, you will be fixated on it all the time, “I want to go there because it’s good there!”

In order to push you away from such an attitude to the upper world, you are given all sorts of opposite, negative states. You are pushed away, given fatigue, and detachment.

A person who perseveres anyway eventually achieves an emergence of a new feeling toward the upper world in him that is not egoistic: “I want it because it is qualitatively different! I start to feel it.” As, for example, in our world, a person prefers to be a poor musician rather than a rich merchant. He has a dream and it is dear to him.

When such a re-evaluation of values occurs in a person, he begins to approach the upper world. And our whole methodology—group, study, dissemination—is built just for this, to help a person in internal restructuring. Thus, he approaches the replacement of the values of our world with the values of the upper world.

And all of a sudden it turns out that in order to annul himself, he is ready to make an enormous effort. How is it done in our world?! Everyone wants to stomp on everyone like a cigarette butt and grind! And here it is the opposite. How does it happen? Under the influence of the upper light.

This will manifest itself more and more clearly, and people in our world will feel that this is a possible physical, literally physical, internal psychological restructuring. It can be done very quickly on yourself; you change your values and preconceived notions and enter into a completely new matrix.

Dangerous Love

712.03Question: If the Creator reveals His endless love to us, then we will begin to neglect Him, and therefore, as protection, He gives us blows and rejects us. Why is it necessary to do so?

Answer: This is done on purpose so that we change our state. This neglect is the result of a new level of egoism emerging and unfolding in you.

Question: Why can’t we immediately embrace all of the Creator’s love?

Answer: You do not have any abilities for this. We need to work on it. After all, sensation and the understanding of sensations, i.e., the heart and mind must be together. You cannot just feel it! There must be a period of awareness of the cause, action, effect of these sensations, certain control over them, then the next state, and so on. There are a lot of different switches here.

It all depends on how ready you are for this, how much you want to take part in all the metamorphoses happening in you and your willingness to call them upon yourself. This will reduce the time to adapt to the new world.

This is a completely new world in which you will feel that there is neither time nor space, there is no life or death. You will look at your body as at an animal that is next to you; well, you stayed with it, made friends with it, like with your dog or a bull that grazes in your yard, and now you are parting.

Moreover, you feel this animalistic state that also has its own egoistic form. But since it supported you and brought you closer to spirituality, then in this egoistic form it begins to enter the spiritual as an integral part of it. Therefore, there is no death, there is no disappearance. On the contrary, it is like all your inanimate, vegetative, and animate desires that join your next state because they led you to this.

Starting from the appearance of our universe, that point that developed in you has now led you to exit our universe into the next one. This is a very special state, an historical moment. Although there is no history and time.

“Does God understand constructed languages?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Does God understand constructed languages?

The Creator, which is a quality of love, bestowal and connection, understands the language of feelings when we relate to Him independently of ourselves, and when we wish to feel Him and simultaneously forget about ourselves. In other words, the feeling of the Creator needs to be completely objective.

Based on “Ten Blitz Answers about the Creator” with Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman on May 21, 2022. Written/edited by students of Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman.

Rise Above the Body!

600.01Question: Do you have a fear of death as such?

Answer: No. I think that people who start studying Kabbalah generally lose their fear of death and even develop a desire for it. It seems to them that there is a desire for physical death, but in fact, it is not. It is a growing desire in us to nullify ourselves, but we feel it in this form for now.

If we knew that there is such a joy in anticipating death, then we would even rejoice. After all, this is not death, but a feeling of self-annulment, the disappearance of one’s egoistic “I,” the transition to “we.”

Comment: But a person is usually ready to do everything to save his life. If you approach him with a knife, he will panic.

My Response: This happens at the animate level. When we rise a little to the next level, we completely disconnect from this animalistic fear and even begin to feel joy from losing connection with the animate level.

Comment: Some people are afraid of injections or something else. It turns out that we associate ourselves with the body, we are afraid to hurt it.

My Response: Rise above the body! There is nothing special about it. There are lots of training programs of all sorts that are not related to Kabbalah. Rise above it!

Question: But why does a person associate himself with his flesh? Everything is about one’s body,  how to bring it to a state of perfection so that it does not hurt.

Answer: This is, so to speak, the imperative of our century. In this way we part with our body and give it the last strength and attention. And that is all. Now it will pause.

You can see that a culture is already emerging where people do not care how they dress—on the contrary, rags are in higher esteem than evening dresses. I think that the crisis over the next few years will shake up humanity and shake out all the whims from it. Then it will get easier.
