Question: Does studying Kabbalah constitute a prayer?

Answer: When we try to understand, realize, and feel something during our study, we are practically engaging the Creator. We want to feel Him, bring Him closer, begin to somehow interact with Him, and therefore, our study is called the “the science of Kabbalah,” how to achieve the revelation of the Creator.

Question: So, the study itself, when one reads from the sources, even without understanding, is this already a prayer?

Answer: Certainly.

Question: Is there a point in reading prayers that other Kabbalists wrote several thousand years ago?

Answer: This too is helpful since the Kabbalists of the past conveyed their feelings, actions, and attainments through prayers, and you can tap into it.

Question: What is the difference between reading from a prayer book three times a day and reading The Book of Zohar, The Study of the Ten Sefirot (Talmud Eser Sefirot,) or the articles of Baal HaSulam? Is there a need to open a prayer book in addition to a three-hour lesson, and to spend an additional half-hour reading from it? What is the difference? They were all written by Kabbalists.

Answer: They were. But the thing is that the prayers were written by the members of the Great Assembly which were exceptional Kabbalists and very wise men. Thus, during the exile, when we fell from the upper level of attainment of the Creator, they purposely put together a collection of prayers for us so that we know how to turn to the Creator from the lower level.

Therefore, there is something in common for everyone in reading from the prayer book and addressing the Creator from it. On the other hand, but unique appeals to the Creator are preferable. This is certainly more important for a person. This is what one should mainly realize.

Comment:  I don’t feel the states these Kabbalists described. It’s not a given that they are clear to me.

My Response: You will come to a state when you will experience what they are writing about.

Question: It follows that one should read a prayer book, regardless of understanding it?

Answer: For now, it is advisable to read it occasionally. There will come a time when you will consciously recognize your own plea in these texts. You will even wonder how it was possible for them to write down what is inside your heart.

Question: Does the Creator answer only correct prayers?

Answer: He answers all prayers!

Question: If, for example, a person needs money to pay off his deficit with a bank, and he is as if unconsciously praying, is this situation of needing money already a prayer from the point of view of Kabbalah?

Answer: Of course. It is the disclosure of any desire.

Question: Suppose he takes a prayer book and begins to pray, to pray for money. Will money appear?

Answer: No. The Creator does not respond to such selfish requests. After all, a person will then think: “I have prayed and received, which means I should pray more.” It just means that the Creator does not let him go.

And if it seems to a person that he has received an answer, then this is also the Creator’s will that he would still think so.

Question: What if he is asking for money not for himself, not egotistically, can he get it?

Answer: I cannot imagine that. There are no prayers at all for fulfillments in our world.

Question: What about prayers for health?

Answer: This was invented later. Although, in principle, we need to pray only for getting closer to the Creator, and this is the fulfillment of all our desires.

Today, in connection with the epidemic, the Creator has given us a special opportunity to turn to Him. We want to give Him pleasure while giving Him the opportunity to become one with us, to fill us, and to do everything He wants with us. We are ready for anything.

The first action is to make yourself an embryo. The embryo in the mother’s womb completely cancels itself, decides nothing for itself, and gives everything up to the very last trifle to the higher authority. This is the first action that we all must achieve now: turn to the Creator together and cancel ourselves.

The Creator has sent us the coronavirus for this and has organized this whole state to help us perform this action: to turn to Him and ask for correction; that is , our association. The Creator has already prepared the whole basis for unification for us.

If we turn to Him now, we will suddenly feel how our whole world will begin to change. Material reality, social and governmental systems, and relations between people will change. We will feel ourselves in a different state as if we were in a different world. We will become more sensitive to each other, closer; we will understand that we are relating to one system and we can’t do whatever we want.

The Creator has begun to put our lives in order via the virus. We can no longer do what we want. Everyone is inclined and ready to fulfill everything that is necessary.

Therefore, it is necessary to turn to the Creator with a request to continue the corrections, to establish a relationship between us so that He can clothe Himself inside of our good relationships and reveal Himself to all of humanity. Then, of course, we are guaranteed a happy future and a good life. Now is the time to act!

Question: There are many definitions of prayer that don’t exactly coincide with each other. But everyone  understands that prayer is an appeal to the Creator, to God.

Usually, a prayer is structured as follows: first comes the praise of the Creator, second, a plea for forgiveness for some sins, and third is gratitude for everything good you’ve received from the Creator.
Is it the same in Kabbalah or somehow different?

Answer: In Kabbalah it is all a one-sided game.

I have no one to address, not because there is no upper force, but because there is no point in addressing it since a prayer, from the verb “Lehitpalel,” means to judge oneself. Nobody is judging me, and if I have to turn to someone—it is only to myself.

In fact, this is how all prayers work. With its help, through the means of addressing myself, I have to check myself: What am I doing well? Which parts am I not doing well? What can I do to improve my state, to get better at? What does it mean to become better? Compared to whom and how? And so on.
Naturally, I have to praise the Creator so that the quality of the Creator, love and bestowal, is most preferred in my eyes.

Question: Do I have to ask for forgiveness and if so from whom?

Answer: There is no one to ask for forgiveness because the Creator is the absolute. If I turn to Him asking for forgiveness, it means that, practically, I am turning to myself. And I begin to feel whether I have acted correctly, how I should have behaved, and how I should act in the future. So it is self-judgment, realizing one’s evil and how to turn it into good.

And then I thank the Creator for helping me. But again,  I am addressing myself the whole time because the Creator is the absolute quality of love and bestowal, which we can awaken but only in the measure of our desire to be similar to Him.

Question: So, does the Creator answer only the right prayer?

Answer: Of course. And the right prayer is my desire to become similar to Him. Nothing else.

Question: Many people in the world, even those unfamiliar with Kabbalah, believe in some kind of the upper force, a God. What do you think they are praying for? How is their prayer different from yours as a Kabbalist?

Answer: The fact is that, being at the corporeal level, they simply believe in some kind of upper force, upper mind, upper predestination, plans, goals, etc. They believe in what will happen to them after they leave their bodily shell.

They believe, but a Kabbalist knows. He feels it. For him, it is the next level of existence, which he is already in.

Question: And what do you know that do we not know?

Answer: I feel the existence outside the body, because in fact our bodies do not exist. It is only necessary to neutralize your egoism, and then you will cease to feel the heaviness of this body, which pulls you and controls you. You will begin to feel how your soul rules and leads you.

Question: And how do you pray for those who have become infected with the coronavirus or sick with other diseases?

Answer: I do not pray for them. I am just trying to tell everybody about what kind of people we should be: mutually kind, interdependent, feeling that we are connected by an upper nature so that we do not violate the laws of the correct communication of nature, and in this way come to a state of kindness, reciprocity, and love so that all our transgressions, initial claims to each other, and anger are covered with love.

This, in principle, is a prayer. I ask the Creator to give me the strength to cover all negative attitudes toward people, to the world, with positive ones. Not to remove them, but specifically to cover them: “Love will cover all transgressions.”

Question: What would you wish for yourself in this difficult period?

Answer: I would wish for what I always do: as much force as possible to do good to the world to the extent and in the way that the Creator leads me.

The union of hearts is the feeling that we are in one heart: We understand each other, we feel, we have one goal, and there is only one force that controls us. But connection implies within itself an understanding of what disconnection means.

One does not exist without the other; opposites support each other. Two properties must exist together: the Creator and creation, the desire to enjoy and the desire to bestow. And then we feel one against the other.

However, one quality, only the desire to enjoy or only the desire to bestow, we are not able to notice. Therefore, we must feel two opposing qualities in our connection.

First of all, we must thank the Creator for the fact that on all continents, all the people all over the world are now in the same state. The Creator gives us both a spiritual and material state. This has never happened before. Our material world is beginning to connect with the spiritual world, and this is really the action of the Messiah pulling this world to the stage of the upper world.

Therefore, one must be more bound by hearts, intention, appeal to the Creator, and prayer. And so we will develop our common feeling. It all depends on the personal, small contribution of each one.

I have a heart of stone that does not feel anything, but I hear that friends feel each other, and therefore I strive for them. And the other is so eager, and the third, there are millions of us! You should not miss your chance, do not neglect what the Creator is giving us.

You will begin to see more and more, day by day, how our group is receiving a blessing from above, an ascent, an understanding, a connection with the Creator. The Creator fills the voids between us that are expanded by the virus, and opens up before us opportunities for spiritual advancement.

Question: Are we now given the opportunity to consciously pray for the whole world through our connection?

Answer: It seems to people that if we address the Creator as a person, then everything will be fine. This is actually not the case.

We address the system of nature; we want to participate in it with the microsystems of each and everyone together. By incorporating into it and striving to be in balance with it, we bring a positive impact on it. This positive relationship brings the whole system into balance.

This is actually a prayer; this is our impact on the system. This is how we need to pray for each other and for everyone, because in the world today, due to the violation of the immense general equilibrium, we are very dependent on each other.

People who are more or less influenced by this disturbance called coronavirus should help each other.
The disturbance is common to all. The system is common to all. We are all in it. Therefore, let us realize how much we influence each other and are dependent on each other. This system begins to teach us quite seriously that we are a small single organism on a small globe called planet Earth, and we must think about this and take care.

Question: Is there meditation in Kabbalah? They say that it is a series of exercises based on focusing sometimes on some inner desire and sometimes even on an external object.

Answer: Meditation is prayer.

Question: Are meditation and prayer the same in Kabbalah?

Answer: Of course. What is meditation? It is an in-depth focus of attention, checking yourself, determining where you are regarding a certain property, and so on. It is the same as prayer.

In practice, there is nothing but prayer. The correct preparation for prayer is when you definitely feel your condition, feel the higher force, understand what the relationship between you is, and what you have to do to get closer to it.

Question: What are MAN and MAD?

Answer: MAN (Mayin Nukvin) is raising certain desires; their appeal to the Creator. MAD is receiving a reply to what we ask for from the Creator.

MAN and MAD must match. The more they are aligned together, the more correctly I am turning to the Creator.

MAN is formed when I ask for others. And only for others! Then, I have the desire to fulfill others and I ask the Creator: “Give me the opportunity to fulfill them,” i.e., to receive for the sake of others.

Such a request to the Creator is called MAN, and the Creator’s response so that I can fulfill them in practice is called MAD.

Comment: We turn to the Creator all the time. It is said that He reacts even to our egoistic desires.

Answer: The entire system of the universe is built in a way that you do not have any connection whatsoever with anyone but the upper force that surrounds, bathes, and fills everything up. That is why any of your aspirations and hopes are still directed at it.

But prayer is your individual tuning to a personal relationship with Him.

Question: There are eight billion people on earth and everyone wants something. Some lack clothes or food, others health, some want money, and still others, knowledge. And everyone turns to that force at a given moment even unknowingly. Is this also called a prayer?

Answer: Of course. All the created beings, including plants, little bugs, animals, it does not matter what and who, have an absolute connection with the Creator, let alone human beings. But we are expected to reach a conscious connection with the Creator. He desires that we establish a conscious relationship with Him.

Question: But essentially, He senses all our desires, doesn’t He?

Answer: We all exist within Him, completely attached to Him. All our feelings, desires, everything that we do, everything that happens, all of it is within Him. We are within Him.
