One Must Know Hebrew

294.2Question: The Russian-speaking KabU (MAK Kabbalah Academy) community in Israel is united by linguistic and regional characteristics. On one hand we live in Israel; some have been in the country for decades while others have recently moved. On the other hand, while living in Israel, we study in Russian and came to Kabbalah thanks to MAK.

Should we strengthen our Hebrew and get closer to Hebrew-speaking groups in the country?

Answer: Undoubtedly, because all Kabbalistic literature written several centuries ago and several decades ago is all in Hebrew.

Occasionally, sources are found in Arabic, sometimes in Russian, but they are few, and no one seriously engages with them. By the way, they are also translated into Hebrew.

Our academy exists in many countries. We teach in more than 30 languages. But one must know Hebrew.

The Book of Zohar’s Influence

527.07Question: You say that when reading The Book of Zohar, we do not feel how spiritual forces influence us or how many corrections occur during its study. If a person does not feel anything, does it mean that nothing is happening?

Answer: Certainly! Do we feel what is happening in our bodies? We feel only a millionth part of what is happening, and everything else passes by our senses and thoughts. We do not catch anything, and we do not have time to process anything.

Question: I can usually judge something when I feel something. You say if I do not feel, then is nothing happening. So does studying The Book of Zohar influence people?

Answer: The fact is that, on one hand, the integral world in which I actually find myself is vital to me and not the one that seems to me. I want to know the complete picture of the world and how it affects me. And what I do not feel today, I can feel tomorrow. Therefore, first of all, I need to experience this world. Second, I work in the part of the world that I feel.

There are two worlds: revealed and hidden. I must uncover everything around me and connect with the universe entirely.

This is what Kabbalah is for. That is why it is called the science of receiving. Receiving, that is, the disclosure of the universal complete universe, so I feel myself not within the framework of our world, not within the framework of my body, but in perfection, in eternity, in complete harmony with all of nature, I feel as an integral part of it, as eternal as it is.

Question: Let’s say an ordinary person begins to study The Book of Zohar. Does even just reading a passage affect him?

Answer: It does even if he just hears and does not understand. All the same, he is in contact because everything that happens in our world is some kind of contact through the matter of our world, which is desire.

209Question: Should we adopt a law so that we no longer take offense at a friend, no longer are angry with a friend, but see in him or her as a manifestation of the Creator?

Answer: If this applies to friends and not to dissemination, to the work of the organization itself, then it is worth it.

Question: Maybe we should formulate ten laws based on the articles of Rabash?

Answer: Do this, please. Do you know how many notebooks I have in which I wrote, drew, and took notes all the time? Work with this.

But most importantly, after the lesson, read the articles and choose the most significant sentences from there. It is very important. Choose from the lesson materials and maybe from what I said.

In principle, if I speak, I already focus my attention on this. So this is already clearer.

How to Read Articles Correctly

524.01Question: How do we learn to let go of previous perceptions in order to undergo rapid changes? Could it be useful to find articles of Rabash where he talks about reward? Are there any such articles?

Answer: Of course, there are many articles. But it is not about them; it is about the way you perceive them.

Therefore, I advise you to get together, try to unite with each other, and read one article. It is better than reading ten articles alone.

You will feel others and get ten opinions at once.

How Do We Engage with a Friend’s Question?

231.01Question: How do we engage with a friend’s question? And how do you work with these questions?

Answer: I try to feel every question within myself as if I am asking it. I must feel each question on your level, the way you present it, and feel it on my level, the way I would ask it.

I must feel the difference between these levels and figure out how I can understand your question at my level and answer it at your level. Try to do the same with each friend’s question. You cannot imagine how much you will enrich yourselves, each of you! Therefore, you need to try to enter into your friend.

Children usually ask the most challenging questions. A child’s question may seem naive, but it is very complex. We are not used to such questions.

Additionally, the questions you ask help me create a connection with the person asking. How else can I enter these questions and they, me? In the lessons with you, I gain much more than each of you.

Kabbalistic Vocabulary

137Question: When you explain Kabbalistic material, you use a limited number of phrases and words, but simultaneously, you convey a whole bouquet of your feelings in different combinations. How is that possible?

Answer: In principle, as soon as you start reducing everything to ten parts of the soul, or the five worlds, or the inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human nature, then everything becomes very concrete, very compact. Therefore, the explanation can be through a manageable number of words.

You reduce it all to some definitions, like, in chemistry to atoms, molecules, and valences. It is the same with us. It is the coarseness of the screen, the magnitude of desire and its thickness, the magnitude of light and its various states, that is five lights, five screens, five types of egoism thickness over it, the combination between them. All this is a small, specific vocabulary.

All the enormous impression and all the richness of conveying feelings and thoughts is in the combination of these few parameters.

But they evoke various opposite sensations in us. And therefore, by going through just a hundred words, you express absolutely everything you can in human existence, not only in our world, but all worlds. The main thing is for a person to feel what you are talking about. And then there will be a very concrete language between you.

In Kabbalah, the vocabulary is minimal, just like for chemists and physicists. They do not have many words and phrases either. The most important is the combination of parameters in all possible combinations and connections. They give the entire palette of sensations and thoughts.

Rise above “Idols”

270The wisdom of Kabbalah deals with elevating a person from idol worshipping. It does not matter what or who is considered an idol. These idols can be more than just statues, amulets, or certain beliefs; they encompass our entire lives that we worship and consider important.

The revelation of the Creator—the single force of nature that governs everything—and connection with it, meaning attaining an upper level, is not deemed important.

Consider how television, radio, and media are filled with various soothsayers, and how the mass media operates, what people perceive, what they think, and even how we teach all sciences. Science today is becoming semi-mystical even though it is considered a science. Look at the hypotheses, theories, and conjectures presented by scholars!

We are returning to the same old circles, to these idols, because we have completely lost our orientation. Therefore, Kabbalah reveals itself and says: “We must return to the one nature.”

Our current crisis indicates that globalization and unity in nature are its main characteristics. One, unified, unique, and integrated—this is the core, the source of all existence.

Therefore, the more we strive for unification, for the understanding of unity, for understanding all the numerous manifestations in nature as merely one attribute, the Creator, the faster we will come to understand the truth and reach a better state.

From Moses to the Men of the Great Assembly

525Moses received the Torah at Sinai and transmitted it to Joshua, Joshua to the elders, and the elders to the prophets, and the prophets to the Men of the Great Assembly. (Mishnah, Pirkei Avot, Chapter 1).

Question: The Mishnah has not only a corporeal, but also a Kabbalistic meaning.

Should we approach these texts with literal understanding or should we
seek the reforming light in them?

Answer: We in particular seek texts the force of connection in these so that the Creator can be revealed in us.

Question: Why does the Mishnah specifically mention the transmission of the Torah from Moses through Joshua to other sages?

Answer: At that time, the Torah was still transmitted verbally. Each sage received, what they passed on to their disciples.

Therefore, the Mishnah describes the sages passing on their spiritual attainments. Antigonus received certain teachings from Shimon the Righteous and passed them on. Yose ben Yoezer of Tzreida received from Yose ben Yochanan of Jerusalem and passed it on. Yose ben Yochanan of Jerusalem said something, meaning he taught his disciples a particular principle, and so on.

The Hidden Corners of Your Heart

420.06Question: When you studied with Rabash he surely told you: “Do not ask questions. The time will come and you will understand everything yourself.” At the time, did you believe that you could reach spiritual attainment?

Answer: There is a concept of “faith in the sages” where a person has no choice but to trust those who have attained the upper world. You may not believe it and you can go check with others or try to do something yourself; this is your choice.

In our world, you are in a suspended state. The question arises: how will you move forward? With your own intellect? Then you will spend your whole life inventing a perpetual motion machine, going from blow to blow, like everyone else or like various inventors, enthusiasts, and experimenters.

You have no other choice but to trust your heart: what does it suggest and to what should you attach yourself? The world is full of sages, all opposed to each other, and all of them are right and all of them are smarter than you. What can you do? You have only one thing—your heart. Your mind is filled with who knows what! Your heart is also confused!

Therefore, you need to try to feel with the most hidden corners of your heart, with all your inner self, where the truth is and what you need. But at the same time, try to cleanse yourself from all sorts of layers imposed by life and feel from within: where is mine?

Maybe you will find that you need meditation, Scientology, new psychosomatic inventions, or whatever. Or maybe you need to try yourself here in Kabbalah. It is the heart that should show a person his place. Nothing else.

Do not take anyone into account. Our world has already learned that there are no geniuses. You talk to any smart person and after a couple of days, if not the same day and in the same conversation, you begin to understand that all of it is limited, and derived from some sources built on semi-deception, semi-guesses, and and semi-beliefs.

Why trust someone or something that the human mind has invented? You should trust only your heart.

After all, beyond the heart, there are no Kabbalists, no philosophers, no Buddhists, no one; trust what lies in its very depth.

A Simple Idea

264.01The science of Kabbalah itself is very simple. It is difficult to implement it, but its idea is quite simple.

The Creator created one single desire that He broke into billions of parts. These parts, which are separated by egoism, must be reunited into the same system in spite of the ego.

At the same time, egoism should not interfere with them. On the contrary, it helps them connect. Then their connection, compared to the past, will be 620 times stronger, and these desires will not feel the state they were in initially before the shattering when they felt only themselves, but they will begin to feel themselves at the level of the Creator.

This is the movement of the shattering and its subsequent correction. Everything happens only according to the method of drawing closer and the connection of the broken parts, that is, between us.
