Think and Feel Like Friends

767.2Question: If each person becomes a guarantor for another, does that mean personal needs completely disappear? Or is there still space for individual effort and responsibility?

Answer: Even though we unite and each person wants to be a guarantor for others, in the end, we discover our collective mutual responsibility. By coming together, we fulfill our common desire.

Question: How does this collective responsibility affect the personal freedom and independence of each individual?

Answer: It does not. We simply begin to think, perceive, and feel as a group of friends. They all unite within our heart, and it expands. So, let’s move forward and experience this.

Question: How can one expand their heart to include all the hearts of the world Kli? Or should one, instead, include their heart into the hearts of others?

Answer: No, you should expand your heart by genuinely desiring to be together with others in a single common desire and intention.

Advance into the Depth of the Common Heart

929Question: We are creating a common heart with our efforts. But without the Creator’s force, it is just a heart. How can we invite the Creator into it and ask Him to sustain it?

Answer: Indeed, it depends entirely on the Creator. And the Creator’s response depends solely on our desire and our request. Our request, in turn, depends on how consistently we remain in it.

So it all comes down to us, our desire, our plea, our prayer, that determines how much we can form a common vessel (Kli) where everyone feels as if they are inside their own heart, filled with the desires and actions of all.

Today, I have already observed several friends, both men and women, who have changed significantly during this time. You will see how, over these two days, we will go deeper into our hearts, into our thoughts, and reach the level of faith above reason.

The Work of the Sages

961.2World Kabbalah Convention “Connecting to Lishma,” Lesson 2

Question: What is the role of a sage in relation to the creatures in our world?

Answer: By sage we mean a person who reaches the level of the Creator in his attainment.

A sage is obliged to teach the creatures, to help them rise above themselves, and to unite with each other. He sees this as his mission.

Question: So we can use the work that the sage did before us?

Answer: Of course, this is what we study. All our lessons are dedicated solely to this.

Question: How do I check myself whether I believe in the sages or not? What if I trust myself?

Answer: If you read the primary sources and completely agree with what is written in them, it means that you believe, not yourself, but the one who wrote them.

Deepen the Kli of the Ten

528.01Question: How can we translate the width of the Kli we created at the congress into depth?

Answer: I do not think you can make such actions yet. But you will be able to very soon.

In the meantime, it is important to try to reproduce the sensitivity you experienced at the congress. You should lift this out of your heart as often as possible because if there is a suitable time and you do not use it to revive the states you have experienced, you are robbing yourself.

Question: You said that faith in the sages expands the Kli and makes it more subtle. What is a more subtle Kli?

Answer: It is a stronger Kli that is capable of absorbing all the sensations and changes in the ten and raising it to the level it was at the congress.

In order for you to have a more subtle Kli, each member of your ten must try to always be ahead of everyone or at least care about its sensations.

Question: What is the relationship in the work of a subtle Kli to the thickness of the revealed Aviut?

Answer: There is an infinitely large distance between them.

Cherish Every Moment

947Question: How can we not miss the opportunity the Creator gives us at this special congress? How can we appreciate every moment?

Answer: You should think of appreciating every moment in advance: “Now I am going to a meeting with my friends where we will connect our hearts. Will I be able to find my place in this union of hearts?”

This will not be a selfish desire. This is a desire that will advance everyone. This is how we will act.

Think About the Entire World Kli

282.01Question: There is a very high concentration of love at the convention, and everyone feels it. We read that we must awaken the hearts of our friends.

What else can we do so that this concentration can be felt anywhere in our world Kli and especially by those who could not come?

Answer: You just need to think about them, write, and contact them.

Question: All ten of us came here except for one friend, and it was as if part of my heart remained there. How do we collect all our parts here including that friend?

Answer: The most important thing is that if you and your friends imagine that you are in one single desire; you want to feel only that. Then it will work out.

What Changes In A Person?

167Question: We come to Kabbalah to change ourselves. What exactly changes in a person: the mind, the heart? Right now, at the convention, I need to set a goal for myself and understand what I should focus on in order to help my ten through myself. Should it be my heart, my mind, or my feelings?

Answer: All of them—your heart, your mind, and your feelings.

Question: But I do not control my feelings; they are given to me by the Creator, are they not?

Answer: But through what you do control, you also influence your feelings.

Question: Should I constantly talk about this in the ten? I cannot just let it pass through me.

Answer: Talk about it.

From the Center of the Convention to the Center of all Reality

938.03After each ten reaches its center and desires to act from this center toward the Creator, it obtains the same aspiration to connect as a single ten with other tens. Then the collective force present in the entire ten unites with the collective forces of other tens, and their common force begins to act. It is as if two drops of water merge into one, and the law that acted on each drop separately now acts on both of them together.

At the convention, we need to quickly go through all the steps leading us to general unity.

First, we unite within our own ten to become as one person, and then from our common center, we seek the central points of all other tens.

The center of the group is the state we want to achieve. When we already feel our ten united as one person with one heart, we want to connect with other tens.

Every gathering has a purpose, a collective force that comes from the center of our unity, from the center of the convention. At the convention, we must try to feel how we direct this force from the center of the convention to the center of all reality where our meeting with the Creator takes place. According to how we strive toward this common center for all of us, we will be able to feel Him.

The group feels that it is increasingly uniting and merging into a single whole, and then from this unity, we want to extract a force directed straight to the Creator.

Readiness to Open the Heart

243.07Opening one’s heart is not easy at all. Even if it seems to me that I have managed to open my heart, it does not necessarily mean that it has truly opened. It is possible for the heart to remain closed, perhaps even more than before.

That is why we should listen to what Baal HaSulam says, strive to understand him, and put it into practice: One cannot correct one’s thought, but should only aim the heart – make one’s heart straight to the Creator. Then all of his thoughts and actions will naturally be to bestow contentment upon his Maker (Shamati 68).

If a person carries out such spiritual work, they open their heart more and more, and progress forward. The heart represents desire, and when he corrects his heart…, the heart will then be the Kli in which to place the upper light. And when the upper light shines in the heart, the heart will grow stronger and he will add and supplement continuously.

The heart shows a person the path to strengthen and move forward. There must be a sense within the heart that one is on the right degrees, ascending accordingly.

One must constantly check where the heart is leading. Then, the person will feel whether the heart is pulling them in a specific direction or allowing them the freedom to act.
