How can I connect these states? Everything that I can give, I give. I also receive everything I can receive for the sake of another because, in this case, my receiving is like giving. If all our thoughts are only for the sake of giving, then we are completely righteous. If we want everything for ourselves, then we are absolute villains, sinners. This is where the dilemma arises, how do we divide our states into sinful and righteous ones.

Therefore, Kabbalists advise us to divide our desires into giving and receiving. Those who work for the sake of bestowal will be called righteous, and those who work for the sake of receiving will be called sinners.
