For the Creator to Be Happy with Us

547.06Question: We are work in the ten to try to come to the revelation of the Creator. How does the switch in intention occur so that we do this for Him, not because we want to enjoy it, but to bestow to Him?

Answer: We want to reveal that the Creator illuminates everything around and nothing else is needed. If the Creator acts with His light on all creation and is satisfied with it, then we do not need anything else. That is how we should try to think and act.

Question: How can we always keep the need, not just to feel good, but for Him to be pleased with us in our hearts?

Answer: It depends on the magnitude of His revelation to us. Then we will be happy with Him.

Renew Your Actions

276.02Question: What does it mean to feel the existence of the Creator while working?

Answer: This means that a person is working to reveal the Creator, to bring Him closer to his senses, and is making efforts solely for this purpose. The person constantly wants to renew his actions so that his attitude toward the revelation and concealment of the Creator is new each time. It is very important that we do not become locked in our petrified state.

Question: How can you further develop your sensory organs?

Answer: There is no way. Just talk about it more and bring it out so that it becomes clear to everyone.

The Path to Correct Interaction

239Question: In which state do we bring more contentment to the Creator: when we pray in single concealment or when there is the revelation of the face of the Creator?

Answer: The Creator works with all states. Double and single concealment are considered only in relation to a person.

The Creator hides from us so that by playing with us He can cultivate the right attitude toward concealment, toward Himself, and toward the world within us. In this way, we all come to correct interaction.

Gradual Purification

276.01Hence, when receiving the concealments and afflictions, he is certain to take the known cure—to do much praying for the Creator to help him out of the state he is in (Baal HaSulam, Shamati 8, “What Is the Difference between a Shade of Kedusha and a Shade of Sitra Achra?”).

Question: In this phrase, there seems to be some egoistic component, as if a person is asking, “It hurts, take me out of this state.” What should a prayer be like?

Answer: Why do you think that our appeal to the Creator must be absolutely altruistic?

We begin our path as complete egoists. But gradually, we purify ourselves from egoism and direct ourselves toward the Creator so that our requests become more altruistic, on behalf of others, for all people.

Therefore, we should not think that the most important thing for us is to stop worrying about others. On the contrary.

How to Become Spiritually Independent

234Question: What are the conditions for receiving salvation from the Creator?

Answer: The very first condition is that you feel it. A person feels that he exists under the power of the Creator and he wants to liberate himself from that. And here a question arises “What for?” If it is just for no reason, then obviously this is wrong.

A person has to realize what forces hold him under the Creator, what he has to obtain in order to rise above this limitation, and how liberation from these limitations would impact him, his group, and his friends.

This is where his work on himself begins, he organizes himself in the new form by acquiring the properties of the Creator.

Question: You said that one has to realize what forces hold him under the Creator. What does this mean?

Answer: It means that all egoistic properties and their various expressions do not allow us to become liberated from the Creator, to distance ourselves from Him, and be spiritually independent.

Perception of the World in Faith Above Reason

250World Kabbalah Convention, “Connecting to Lishma,” Lesson 2

Question: Going in faith above reason means going with eyes closed. How do we come to prefer going in this way in order to see the Creator?

Answer: If we continue going the way we have until today, we will never understand what is happening in our world. But if we begin to direct ourselves toward perceiving the world in faith above reason, we will correctly feel both our world and the Creator within it.

Question: Does each person have their own perception of reality?

Answer: Everyone has their own perception of reality, similar to how we perceive reality in our world. After all, we gather together, thousands of people, exchange thoughts and plans, and somehow understand each other. The same applies in the spiritual world.

Through the Connection between Us

528.02Question: Souls are Kelim that receive lights from the worlds. How do we attain the worlds and their lights in the ten?

Answer: We attain them through our connection.

Question: Is our goal to become the world or the soul?

Answer: The soul. Meanwhile, the world is the feeling souls have of the state they feel among themselves.

To the extent we attain the soul, we also attain the relation of this soul to a higher level, to the Creator.
