The Ladder Is Ready—The Choice Is Yours!

41.01The explanation is in the association of the quality of judgment with the quality of mercy. ‎When Malchut rose to the place of Bina, the degrees split into two halves—GE and AHP, or ‎MI ELEH. …

This discernment is apparent primarily in Partzuf YESHSUT, in which there are only VAK of ‎lights in GE of the vessels, for which reason it is called MI. Her AHP, which are the three ‎letters ELEH, fell to the degree below it, to ZON. Also, ZON have only GE in lights of VAK, ‎and their AHP fell to the degree below them, which are three worlds BYA (Zohar for All, Vol. 1, Introduction of The Book of Zohar “General Explanation for All Fourteen Commandments and How They Are Divided into the Seven Days of Creation,” #9).

The Zohar describes how the ladder of spiritual degrees is structured from top to bottom. Each subsequent degree is not located directly beneath the previous one. Part of the upper level enters the lower one in such a way that no degree has free space except for its middle point called the middle part of Tiferet.

From the upper third of Tiferet and above, each degree receives from the upper degree that is embedded in it. From the lower third of Tiferet and below, each level is inside the lower one. This is how the entire ladder of degrees is arranged.

The AHP of the upper degree is within the GE of the lower degree, and the AHP of the lower degree is within the GE of its lower degree, and so on. Inside each degree, there is a small layer—the middle third of Tiferet—which remains free from the influence of the upper and the need to give to the lower.

In the upper part of its GE, where the AHP of the upper degree is embedded, each Partzuf is under the force of the upper degree. In the lower part of its AHP, which has descended into the GE of the lower degree, each Partzuf is in service to the lower degree.

Thus, each Partzuf has only the middle third of Tiferet as its independent space where it decides with whom to align itself, with the upper or the lower, whether to ascend continuously or remain below.

This is how the ladder of degrees is structured from top to bottom, and we must use it correctly in order to ascend.

How Can We Reach the Creator?

938.04Question: It was not an easy congress. There is a quiet war going on, and everyone is running from their egos. How can we stay together in such a state, not run away, and remain calm and patient?

Answer: If we had precise “potentiometers”—special knobs that we could twist toward greater involvement in revealing these sheets, papyri, tablets, and so on, then we would understand what we are talking about.

I feel that if you can, you should get together once a week, not physically, but virtually. Then we can answer questions, write, and discuss what is close to us. Let’s try this. We formed a solid idea about the group; it would be a pity if it disappeared.

Question: It feels like we are being launched into free sailing in tens. What is this level? How do we survive and reach the Creator?

Answer: The ten is like a small ship that can cross rivers and oceans, and your whole group is the crew of the ship. Therefore you can safely cross the ocean.

The Open Path for Development of the Soul

65If during the lesson you make an effort to concentrate as much as possible on what I am saying, you will feel how through these words I am opening a path for you to develop your soul.

We have texts that we study and discuss in a group. At the same time, we are influenced by the laws of nature, the laws of ten, the laws that bind us at a higher level, and the laws that bind us at a lower level, and we must constantly be in this cycle.

And when I get inside the book, it becomes my rightful ruler, like a mother to an infant who changes his diapers, bathes him, and changes his clothes over and over again. We must strive to reach a state where the Creator would want to care for us just like a mother cares for a baby.

Nothing limits us in our work, and everyone has the opportunity to make even greater efforts. But it happens that despite investing a lot, we get minimal results.

And this is a consequence of the fact that in our work there are forces acting on a person’s desires, and there are forces acting on a person’s connection with reality. And we must strive to achieve the greatest success in both of these areas.

We need to choose words and passages from The Book of Zohar that will draw the maximum illumination to us and so move forward.

How Can We Elevate Thoughts to Holiness?

528.01Question: How should one act practically when bad thoughts come, and how does one elevate them to holiness? What are these actions within the ten?

Answer: Everything depends on how connected you are with the ten, how much they lift you up, or whether you bring them down.

It is a similar calculation to school assignments, where you are given several conditions and need to find something common between them.

Question: So if I take the right actions toward my friends, can I essentially prepare myself for this state and go through it quickly?

Answer: Relatively quickly.

Question: You said that a person can bring the ten down. Does that mean that when he acts mechanically without opening his heart, he is essentially not fulfilling his task? Is that what it means to “bring the ten down”?

Answer: Yes.

Uncover the Depth of the Heart

507.04Question: You said that a person is born with a Kli, but then wastes it. It feels like we are constantly talking about purifying desires. But I have a need to develop desire in my friend. Should a person strive to develop additional vessels? After all, then we will be able to give more to the Creator.

Answer: If you think this way, if you strive to reveal your friend to the Creator, then do so. But in this case, you must act strictly consistently and not be afraid. If something is unclear, ask the Creator, and speak with your friends. But this should be clear and revealed to everyone.

The science of Kabbalah is called a secret not because we are afraid to talk among ourselves. It is called the science of the secret that is in the heart of a person, because the heart is hidden behind many seals.

And we must gradually uncover them and approach the inner heart as close as possible. This is what we must strive for; it very much depends on the connection between us.

All that I fear is that you do not spoil it for each other, that you help one another. This is the most important thing.

I Want to Live Inside The Book of Zohar

526The Book of Zohar is sacred and speaks in a completely unique language, an extraordinarily precise one. It allows us to grasp the entire global picture and then focus on a single specific detail that it wishes to reveal. It has the power to expand one’s vision to the maximum and then contract it down to a single point.

And when we read Kabbalistic texts, The Zohar or the writings of Baal HaSulam or Rabash, we must connect with our hearts to the one who is transmitting this knowledge to us.

For example, if we take The Introduction to The Book of Zohar by Baal HaSulam, we see that his intention with this introduction is to connect each of us to The Zohar for All, that is, to the book that should be the most sought-after among the entire nation of Israel. It is for this purpose that he wrote and disseminated this introduction.

When we begin to read such texts, we must distance ourselves from literal interpretations and strive to connect with the spiritual message that the Kabbalist wishes to convey to us. And after reading each passage, we must return to it and try to let these words enter our hearts, so that through them we can connect our hearts with the heart of its author Baal HaSulam.

The works of the Kabbalists are of immense importance to us, because they are messages passed down to us by our teachers. Through this message they wish to bind us with a thousand threads between us and with The Book of Zohar. In The Introduction to The Book of Zohar, we can find all the words and laws that will help us draw closer to the Creator and cleave to Him. These texts connect us to spirituality and eternity.

If a person aspires to connect with the spiritual source through The Book of Zohar, then each time they return to it they will discover how this text increasingly ties them to the spiritual in all its forms. And then they fully open their eyes and heart with the sole desire to ascend and cleave to the spiritual root of which The Zohar speaks.

And even when I am not reading The Book of Zohar, I want to live inside it. That is, I strive to be connected with my friends, with the group, and with my ten, and in this way I draw closer and closer to the Creator until I see that I have entered a certain gravitational zone where the Creator begins to pull me inward into this field.

To live inside The Book of Zohar means to strive to reveal what this book wants to tell me with each of its words and sentences. And then The Zohar draws me into a stream that carries me from the beginning of the book to its last word.

Questions about Spiritual Work—229

570Question: How can one maintain a state of constant service to the Creator rather than in prayer?

Answer: We must try to remain merged with the Creator at all times despite any changes that seem good or bad to us; we need to perceive them all in one direction, with one purpose influencing us. Then we will understand Him more quickly.

Question: We have the concept of intention, which, as I see it, serves as a trigger in inner work. How does a person’s intention help him transition from a state of descent to ascent?

Answer: Intention means that a person who seeks to be closer to the Creator chooses from all their possibilities the one that would bring them nearer to Him.

Question: What work should we do throughout the day to maintain the inner connection with the ten?

Answer: Strengthen your connection with the Creator based on the connections and bonds that manifest between you.

Question: How can one speed up the process of emerging from a descent to reach the recognition of evil?

Answer: I can say only one thing: strive toward the point of connection between a person and the Creator from any state you go through. From any state! Because all these states are given to us by the Creator with only one purpose so that at this point He reveals in us, we discover Him.
