The Ancient Wisdom Of China

631.1Comment: An ancient Chinese wisdom says: “Always look on the bright side of things. And if there is none, polish the dark ones until they shine.”

My Response: Because behind everything in the world stands the upper light. And where it seems to you that there is darkness, you must “polish” yourself until that phenomenon begins to shine. Because in every phenomenon, within it, there is the upper light.

Question: So I polish myself in order to see that it is not darkness, but light?

Answer: Yes. Wipe away your egoism, and you will see that the world around you consists only of simple upper light.

Comment: “The trick of life is to die young, but as late as possible.”

My Response: Yes, because being young means always striving forward. Youth is not about years. You can live 200 years and remain young, or be an old man already at 20, extinguished.

It all depends on your aspiration! If you have a yearning to attain the meaning of life, then you are always young. That is the most important thing. It depends on you and on the society you are in, your environment. But under no circumstances should you let yourself be extinguished. That is very important.

Question: Your teacher was called “the runner.” Was he really young for you?

Answer: Next to him, I was the old one. There was a forty-year difference between us. He was born in 1906, I in 1946. He was very strong, powerful, energetic, constantly striving forward, and in that, he was young.

Comment: “The temptation to give up will be especially strong right before victory.”

Answer: Yes, that is always the case. When a person is about to reach the goal, strangely enough, a weakness appears: “Why? What for? I am tired. No way. Nothing.”

At that moment, he must understand that he is being tested for his desire toward the goal. To achieve it, he must add something new, an even greater aspiration. Inject more drive, passion, appreciation of values, the importance of the goal. And then he will reach it.

Question: So he is practically close, but in front of him is a mountain he cannot climb?

Answer: Yes. That is why he must increase the importance of the goal now, to climb, to run up that mountain.

Question: And how does that happen?

Answer: It is the mobilization of inner strength through the importance of the goal.

Question: But logically, shouldn’t a person have more and more strength as he gets closer?

Answer: No, it is like a runner; at the last stage, his strength seems to vanish. That is when he must activate a new reserve, a second wind. A person learns this, and then he succeeds.

Comment: “A friend without flaws does not exist. If you seek flaws, you will end up without a friend.”

My Response: Of course. One must understand this and love a friend with his flaws. And even if these flaws are in your friend, they are actually yours.

Question: So looking at a friend, you are really looking at yourself?

Answer: Yes. You must understand that these flaws are within you.

Comment: But we do the opposite. We generally criticize the world around us.

My Response: Exactly, we criticize. But in truth, we should perceive everything within ourselves. It is very hard!

Comment: Most businesses that fail are those created by friends. Later, they just hate each other.

My Response: They are not educated. That is the whole problem, humanity is not taught how to interact correctly with one another. And we cannot do anything about it.

Each person is such an egoist! And they continue to be raised that way. The more egoism you have, the more you supposedly have the chance to succeed over others. We do not understand that, in the end, true success means being in the right relationship with others.

We have already reached a state where the world is burning out from egoism. It can no longer move forward egoistically. All our grand dreams and everything else are fading.

And only one thing remains—how to go on existing? This is possible only if we begin to value our connection with one another. Within that connection, we will discover purpose, dimensions, an entirely different world.

Question: Can you give the main advice on how to preserve a friendship to the end?

Answer: You need to understand that the bad you see in others is all within you. There is nothing bad around you—only yourself. You should strive to correct yourself until you see a beautiful world in everything around you. Then you will find yourself in the spiritual world, in the Garden of Eden. Turn the hell within you into paradise and you will see that you are in paradise.

But if you do not change the hell inside you, it will seem to you that you are in hell.

If you see hell in another, it is in you. Change yourself, and you will see that you are in a wonderful world.

Comment: “When they speak of my virtues, they rob me. When they speak of my flaws, they teach me.”

My Response: Yes, that is true. It is said in Kabbalah that a friend is someone through whom you discover your flaws. Because in this way, he helps you advance.

Those who praise you weaken your path; they fill you with an unnecessary sense of superiority, perfection, and so on. They do not help at all.

It is among those before whom you feel your negative qualities that you truly develop.

That means a friend is not someone with whom you feel comfortable—“I feel good with you, it is pleasant,” and so on. No, to the contrary. True friends are those who seem to push you away, and you feel you must make an effort to come closer. Those who mobilize you to rise above yourself, those are your true friends.

Comment: “An invisible red thread connects those destined to meet, despite time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.”

My Response: Of course. Because from the beginning, we are all connected to one another. Everyone already exists in their own state. And if, as a result of the correction of the common soul, we must somehow meet each other, that is already predetermined by our spiritual genes.

So there is nothing accidental about our meetings or separations. Do not worry.

The main thing is that at every stage of your development when you meet others, be as kind, friendly, and welcoming as possible. Then you will never make a mistake and will always move in the direction of your soul’s correction.

Nothing is accidental. All our meetings are predestined. It is destiny!

Profession, Human

281.01Question: I work as a high school teacher, and I am deeply concerned about the problems of teenagers, which cause many of them drop out of school. I would like to give them the foundation for the kind of education that you talk about. But is it possible for me to do this in the couple of hours a week allotted to me for each class?

Answer: Obviously nothing can be done this way. Why not devote half of the time that a child spends in school to useful activities, that is, learning how to build himself, his future family, the world, a new society, how to build proper relationships with close ones and strangers, with friends?

This is what education is; it is supposed to build a human being. It is not enough simply to give birth to children; we also need to mold humans out of them, to shape them. But today, this does not happen. The school does not form a human, but a chemist, a mathematician, a physicist, a specialist in some field, and that is all.

But this still does not mean to be a human being. There is no such subject in school as “the building of a human being.” It is necessary to raise this issue and bring it up for national discussion; after all, it concerns all of us and touches every family. Both children and parents suffer, as well as the ministry of education itself, which is unhappy with such a state of affairs.

First of all, it is necessary to decide how to transform the ministry of education into an upbringing organ instead of an educational one. This is the greatest national problem.

Question: Can I accomplish anything during the two hours that I have with the children?

Answer: The problem is also that you do not know what to do. You do not have a program that would guarantee that, within a year, one piece of the mosaic that makes up a human will be built. The upbringing of a human being is an art that must be learned. It must be a program on a national scale.

To Love and Be Loved

514.02Question: Why is it most important for a person to feel that he is loved?

Answer: This is because a person is a social being and we all come from one system called Adam HaRishon in which we existed as one man with one heart, all together in one desire. We were connected to one another and even after we became distanced from each other through the process of evolution, we are still bound together by an inner force.

Where does such a strong influence of the environment on a person come from? It is because in our root, in the very depth of our nature, we are most tightly connected together in one source, in one state, in one desire, although physically distant.

That is how I am made by nature, and therefore it greatly matters to me what others think and say about me. This is true even for small children.

Question: The desire to feel that I am loved is the most important thing for a person in life. Why?

Answer: It is because the influence of the environment on a person is very powerful.

By nature, as an animal, I do not need much, a bit of food and some shelter for my family and children. But to obtain everything else beyond what is necessary for existence, I destroy my life just to gain recognition in the eyes of society—to become loved, respected, wealthy, and intelligent.

I have been working for years to buy a big house, a special car. And why do I need all this? Because it is respected in the eyes of the environment. In other words, I am a slave to my environment.

Question: When a person loves someone, it fills him very much. There is no stronger feeling that penetrates so deeply into a person. Why does he feel good when he experiences love for someone? Why are we made this way?

Answer: The question can be asked differently: why do I have both the need to be loved and the need to love someone? This comes from our nature, that within us there is a desire to feel our relations with the environment, to receive love from them and to love them.

Question: Why is it important to me that I also love them?

Answer: This stems from the upper root. We are created this way and receive an impression from the upper force of nature, which gives birth to us and nurtures us, as well as from the home, from parents, from the family. That is why I also have the desire to love someone.

This is my attitude toward the world, because otherwise I feel that I exist among haters whom I myself hate. There are people who do not feel love even in their own homes, and we see how improperly and badly they grow up. The lack of love that they do not feel from parents, their family, and environment makes them corrupted human beings.

And this comes from nature. We are not creatures that can exist in isolation. We see that even the young animals need maternal love and the help of their pack.

Question: Can a person who has never felt love give love to others?

Answer: No, a person will not be able either to give love or to receive it. Such a person is a very miserable, incomplete being, and it is difficult for him to exist.

Question: Let us imagine that in a hundred years a child will be born to robot parents. They will take care of him and provide him with everything possible, like in a royal palace, except for the feeling of love. What will he be lacking?

Answer: Everything! He will not feel that he is being filled with everything. He will lack the attitude because we come from a system called Adam, and there, in that system, we are all inwardly connected to one another as one body. And if we do not feel any connection between us, then we are lost. Nature will not support us, and we will not be able to exist.

The Secret Of Our Happiness

The School of the Future

599.02In the News (CNBC): “Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has a problem with the way kids are being taught in the U.S. today. And he says there’s a simple question that can help: ‘Why?’ …

““The why of things is extremely important because our brain has evolved to discard information that it thinks has no relevance,” Musk says. …

“For example, simply listing the tools you need to take an engine apart isn’t enough to learn how to do it. You also need to try it yourself, he suggests.

“By ‘taking the engine apart and putting it back together,’ he says, ‘you learn about wrenches and screwdrivers and all the tools that you need.’ As a result, ‘you understand the relevance.’

“And he’s right. A 2015 study by the University of Chicago found that students’ understanding of science concepts, such as angular momentum and torque, was significantly aided by physically experiencing those forces. Students got higher scores on their science quizzes all thanks to trying things out themselves.

“Elon Musk believes that ‘solving abstract mathematical problems and equations brings no concrete benefit; schoolchildren do not understand why it is needed.’ Instead, he suggests that students ‘study concepts from mathematics and physics in practice, for example, by taking apart engines or building a satellite.’

In his opinion, ‘designing satellites and dismantling engines will give a sufficient understanding of mathematics and physics, while the ability to use a wrench and screwdriver will have practical use.’”

My Response: That is true. I completely agree with him. Theoretical study does not give anything.

Comment: But we studied everything theoretically.

My Response: And what is the use? I studied the strength of materials, metal sciences, and so on, so what? If it is not in practice, there is no point. I think otherwise you cannot master technology. Theory is theory. Mathematics, for example, is theory. There is nothing you can do about it. But it is not really a science; it is a language.

I believe that it is absolutely necessary to give students assignments, let them think, work it out among themselves, and arrange group activities; that is very good. They will begin to dig into everything. Today they already know how to open Google and everything else, how to extract knowledge from the Internet.

Question: Why do you think this has to be in a group? Musk does not write or talk about that.

Answer: Group work is absolutely necessary; today everything works only like that because the world has come to a state where it must group together. One person not only will not be able to do anything and will not manage, it is the wrong thought, the wrong approach.

Question: Will the participants of group work combine their skills and talents?

Answer: They will have to find contact among themselves and thus assemble from their different qualities. I remember, even as students, in order to finish a lab assignment faster, we would work as a group of several people. Someone would write the report, which had to be handed in within two hours, someone else would help with the sources, and I would assemble the machine itself, the wires. For me it was easy. It was amazing how well it went for me!

And each one in his place; it was very good, a team.

Question: So could there be exactly such schools of the present and the future?

Answer: Yes, I think it is a very good thing. After all, we are not teaching children about discoveries, but about what exists in life. Therefore we must deliberately give them machines, instruments, anything, so they can use them to learn about the elements of nature.

Chinese Wisdom

202Сomment: The wisdom of the Chinese people is often very profound. For example:

“The one who points out your flaws is not always your enemy, and the one who praises your virtues is not always your friend.”

My Response: This is absolutely true. The most important thing for a person is to correct oneself along life’s path. And someone who points out your flaws is doing enormous work on your behalf.

In order to discover these flaws on your own (let alone correct them), you would encounter countless obstacles, bang your head against them, and get into trouble. People sometimes end up in prison, get free after a few years, and have to start all over again. But if someone can truly point out your shortcomings, and you are able to feel them, understand them, and recognize them, that person spares you enormous suffering.

Comment: Yet we often consider such a person an enemy: “He exposed my flaws, he humiliated me.”

My Response: Humiliation is a different matter. I can feel my flaws and still rejoice that someone has pointed them out to me. But the one who says nothing, or even flatters me, perhaps he does so maliciously so that I will not pay attention to the corrections I need to make.

Question: So it is not in vain you keep saying that someone who criticizes you is closer to you than someone who praises you?

Answer: Yes, of course.

Question: Do you listen to someone who suddenly tells you something about yourself?

Answer: I very much wish I could.

Quote: “What happens, happens at the right time.”

My Response: We must accept this apriori as an axiom. The thing is that everything comes from the world around us and has its own path of development. Therefore, all that unfolds in front of us comes from this great mechanism in which we exist as small participants.

We need to understand that everything happening around us in society or in the universe as a whole occurs according to a vast plan, and we are within this plan. Our task is to fit into this plan, not to change the external flow by any means, but to correct ourselves so that we adapt to it.

Question: And then I will feel that whatever has happened, has come at the right time?

Answer: Yes. It has come on time, properly and correctly. And suddenly I begin to understand the correctness of everything that happens and how perfectly it suits me.

Question: And I have no regrets?

Answer: There is nothing to regret because everything happens outside of me, before me. And what I am shown are just the steps that I must take within myself to perceive everything correctly, to agree with it, to connect with it, and to move forward in resonance with it.

Question: That is, in harmony with it?

Answer: Yes, in agreement with it.

Quote: “He who drinks the water must remember those who dug the well.”

My Response: Beautifully said. And one must be grateful to them because the one who dug the well was not thinking only of himself, he was thinking also of me, anticipating my need.

Therefore, I am deeply grateful to him and must, in some way, repay him, whether simply with my heartfelt attitude, or perhaps by doing something good around that well myself. In general, even a warm, grateful feeling toward the one who opened a source of life for me already helps to correct the world.

Question: This sounds very much like a Kabbalistic approach. That is, instead of focusing on the pleasure I receive from the water, I turn my thoughts to the one who dug the well for me. Should a person behave this way in life, for example, by digging wells for others in turn?

Answer: A person must feel that everything he has around him and in the world was given to us by our ancestors who left it behind. And we must do the same for others, and for future generations.

Quote: “Misfortune enters through the door that was opened to it.”

My Response: That depends only on the person.

Question: Am I the one who opens the door to misfortune?

Answer: Yes, naturally. It is us who do all this.

In fact, the world is filled with boundless, absolute happiness, but by our own attitude, we turn it into the opposite. This is why it is said allegorically that we “open the door” to misfortune.

Question: And what if I were filled with the thought that the world around me is absolute happiness? If I constantly thought about this and strove toward it, would I still open the door to misfortune? Would misfortune still come to me?

Answer: This is our egoism. In truth, it exists within us so that we may learn to recognize and open far more doors to what is good. But we use it incorrectly; that is the problem.

A person is essentially unhappy. He is given an egoistic desire, a foundation, a character, an aspiration, but only so that he may correctly sense in advance what to avoid and how to adjust himself. Yet he uses this desire in the wrong way.

Question: Is that why he opens the door to misfortune?

Answer: Exactly. He keeps stepping on the same rake. Imagine there are “rakes” placed on the ground to show you the right path and to guide you to walk between them. But instead, you constantly step directly on them. This wrong perception of life stems from the fact that we relate to it totally incorrectly. That is, in fact, we fail to understand that egoism itself shows us how to walk properly and what to avoid. But we use it in its direct sense, and so we step on the rake again and again.

Japanese Wisdom, Part 2

421.01Comment: The culture of Japan is very different from the cultures of other nations. The land of the rising sun is considered a repository of secrets, spiritual health, and a happy life.

Please comment on some Japanese wisdom.

The first one: “Having thought, make up your mind, having made up your mind, don’t think.”

My Response: Yes, it is good. As a rule, if a person decides, then this is an act that comes out of the innermost part of his desires. Therefore, if you have already decided, implement it. Otherwise, it will be a regression.

Comment: “Water takes the form of a vessel into which it was poured. And a person gets good or evil from his friends.”

My Response: Yes, a human is a vessel. If he bows himself before society, friends, and comrades, then they fill him up. It takes its own form, but the content is theirs. And thus, it can move forward.

Question: Is this how a person can find himself by standing up to others? But he thinks otherwise.…

Answer: No! In fact, he preserves himself because he is nothing more than a vessel. And the filling from a good society will move him forward.

Comment: “It’s easier to find 10,000 soldiers than one general.”

My Response: It really is. Our world is full of soldiers who rejoice in obedience, because, as they say, “The less you know, the better you sleep”; life is easier. And being a general, of course, is difficult, and there are few of them. There are very few outstanding people in nature and in society.

Question: When they talk about a general, do they mean responsibility and care?

Answer: Of course! This is a serious leader. And besides, he is responsible not only for himself. A real general is responsible not only for the soldiers, but also for the people behind the soldiers, whom the soldiers are called upon to protect. So it is not easy to be a general. These are not today’s generals.

Comment: “When an ear ripens, it bends its head; a man gets richer, it lifts his head.”

My Response: Yes. It really is. If the head is heavy in worries, then of course the person bows his head and bends himself. He understands that he is just a small executor of someone’s will in this world. And if the head becomes “empty,” then it lifts higher, the nose lifts the head.

Question: So when a person gets rich, he pays attention to wealth, and everything is an empty head?

Answer: Yes. It is the opposite of kindness, the opposite of wisdom. Wealth contradicts wisdom. It does not happen at the same time as wisdom. Sometimes, at the end of life, people suddenly start to doubt: “Why do I need wealth? I’ll give it away…” But that is not it. What you have ruined in your life by striving for wealth all the time and existing for it is beyond repair.

Question: So there is no such thing as rich and wise?

Answer: No, these are special states that perhaps only a few people in the world had, when wealth did not limit or darken their wisdom. For example, King Solomon, etc. These are characters that we have very little idea about.

This is only when a person could substitute both wealth and wisdom for the Creator.

Comment: “To lend money to a friend is to lose him.”

My Response: Yes, that is, you should be connected with a friend only by friendly ties, and in no case by material ones.

Comment: You seem to be doing a good thing.…

My Response: There is no good thing. So, from this moment onward, you are no longer friends. No way. Because there are other types of communication between you.

Comment: That is, it is better to send him to the bank, let him take it there or somewhere else.…

My Response: It doesn’t matter how. Refuse by any means. So that you are not financially bound by any obligations, no dependencies, no way! Do not hire him, otherwise he is no longer a friend. Do not lend him money, of course. Even family ties, whatever they may be, literally and immediately spoil friendly relations between you.

Comment: Let’s say friends create a company, do their own business…

My Response: This is a very difficult case. This is possible only if they are really above the nature of our world.

Comment: “The neighbor’s flowers are redder.”

My Response: Naturally. Envy is a great force in our world, and it leads us forward. Envy, jealousy. Therefore, I would strongly advise you to develop it. Look at others and be jealous. And so, you will sort of steal ideas, desires, intentions, goals from them, and you will develop.

Comment: The world says the opposite: “The envious one!”

My Response: It depends on what to envy. To be jealous in order for me to develop, so that I become intelligent, understanding, developing. We always set our children as an example for others.: “Look at this boy,” and so on. Of course, absolutely.

Envy is a wonderful feeling if it is managed properly.

Question: But are you talking about white envy, when, being jealous, I develop myself?

Answer: Yes. White envy is what puts me on the right path and develops me.

Just Love and That Is All?

255Question: How can one build a relationship without striving to change the other person? My natural state is to change another to fit me. How do I not do this? This is the root of all battles, all quarrels, everything.

Answer: Just love. That is all.

And again we return to the first question. If we understand that the most important thing in our life is to be next to someone who understands, helps, loves, and values you, we must value this very, very highly, and sacrifice everything for its sake.

Comment: So I practically sacrifice all my “I,” which demands conditions for itself. And I say: “I want to learn to love.”

Answer: Yes, I want to learn to love this person because I want to be with him. That is all. And it is good if he feels the same. Then it is indeed an enormous, mutual, and very unusual feeling.

Question: You are actually speaking now not only about couples, you are speaking about subordinate, and superior, and about states?

Answer: Practically, yes. Above everything, this state must shine—the state of “learning to love.”

Comment: This sounds so warm and beautiful that one wants to come to it!

My Response: This must be cultivated. But unfortunately, such cultivation does not exist. And when we grow old and understand, we no longer have the strength for it. And therefore, approaching the younger generation and trying to pass something on to them does not succeed. They wave us off, and we try, but rapprochement does not happen. “If only youth knew, if only old age could.”

Question: So you believe that everyone must get their bumps and bruises? One way or another, we cannot manage without it?

Answer: This must be demonstrated intensively in all works, in schools. In general, people must be taught this. At all ages. Then the whole society will be filled with this approach so that it would be in the air. And then it will become possible to love.

Between Love and Hatred

534Question: You once said that our entire life unfolds between love and hatred. But how are these two feelings connected?

Answer: If there were no hatred, there would not be love either. If I did not desire something and feel fulfilled by it, then how could I feel that I love it?

The measure, quality, and depth of love always depend on the measure, quality, and depth of hatred.

Hatred is when I either reject something and want to push it away from me, or I suffer deeply because I do not have it. Within this spectrum lies the whole range of our relationships. In truth, everything in life is divided only into what I hate and what I love.

We are created from the desire to enjoy. Therefore, there are things that I hate and want to distance myself from since they negatively affect my desire to enjoy and there are things that I love and want to draw closer to because they positively affect my desire for pleasure. My entire life is woven between these two poles, between what is good for me, and what is bad for me, between hatred of what feels bad and the love for what feels good.

Yet perhaps we should re-educate ourselves to reconsider what is good and what is bad, what is worthy of enjoyment and what is not. Education, in this sense, means reshaping our attitude toward what appears attractive and pleasant, and toward what appears unpleasant or harmful.

This shift allows us to move beyond the simple question of what to love or what to hate, and instead to ask: what is true and what is false? After all, some things that I love turn out to be deceptive and damaging, while some things that I instinctively reject are true, and ultimately beneficial. I should pay attention to them, draw closer to them, and I will discover that they genuinely lead me to goodness.

In other words, I should not live according to my instinctive or culturally-acquired sense of good and evil—what I love and what I hate—but add a rational inquiry to it: What is truly good and what is truly bad? Not from the perspective of what feels pleasant or unpleasant, but from the higher perspective of what is worth experiencing as good or bad. Thus, I will no longer define good and evil by my personal tastes or by natural attraction or repulsion, but by absolute good and absolute evil—above my instincts.

This is possible because the human being is a social creature. We can determine what is good or bad not only by our personal sensations, but also by the influence of the environment. After all, we need those around us: they can respect us or, on the contrary, shame us. Because we are subject to the influence of the environment, we can completely change our values by learning to hate what we once loved.

Take, for example, a person who once behaved carelessly, as he pleased. Then, under the influence of his surroundings, he suddenly realizes that others do not respect him, even scorn him, for his sloppiness or poor manners.

He feels he has no choice but to change, to correct himself because society’s influence is powerful and felt sharply as either positive or negative. He begins to see his neglect of others as harmful to himself, and so he puts effort into correcting his behavior and attitude. In doing so, he reshapes his values.

This is how we can transform what we love and what we hate.

Why Do We Strive for Love?

49.01Question: Love, everyone wants to love, to be loved, to work at a job they love, to visit places they love. Within us there is an enormous drive toward love. Personally, I feel that all our life we are searching for love, wanting to be loved.

Why do we chase after love, why are we so drawn to this powerful feeling?

Answer: Because we are nothing more than created beings, and our nature is the desire to enjoy. What fulfills this desire is the pleasure we feel. Depending on what each person strives for, where they feel emptiness, and what fills them, toward that they experience love.

I love fish, I love my mother, I love my children, I love the sun, coolness, warmth, it doesn’t matter what. If I am filled with what I strive for, if I fill my desire, I call that love for what presently delights me.

There are things I know in advance that I love either by habit or by nature because that’s how I was made. And there are things I accustomed myself to, and then I also love them.

In the end, what we call love in our lives is fulfillment by the pleasure I strive for, because it fills my desire. And the sensation that my desire is being fulfilled is what we call love.

For example, I love fish. That means I want to eat it and can fill myself with the fish lying in front of me on the plate.

Question: And still, we strive more toward human love than material love…

Answer: Love has many levels depending on what we love, meaning what fulfills us. A person has needs for fulfillment, which the science of Kabbalah divides according to a ladder of desires and aspirations. This ladder begins with desires for food, sex, and family. Then follow desires for wealth, honor, and knowledge.

In essence, all of our aspirations and fulfillments can be included in these six types of desires. If I strive for some kind of fulfillment, that means I love it. Moreover, I not only love the fulfillment itself, but also its source, which becomes important to me since it gives me pleasure.

That is how we build our lives. And our entire life takes place between hatred and love.

Smartphones or Children?

Laitman_512.02Question: Smartphones today are conquering the world; everyone is looking at their mobile phones. But there is also another way of looking at smartphones—parents’ attention to their children has diminished as a result.

How much attention should a parent give to a child, and does the child feel that the parent’s heart is not with him?

Answer: What can modern parents give their children? The fact is that we are sinking into ever greater egoism. We lack feelings for the child and even more so for each other. So it is better that we do not impose ourselves on children. We only need to invent good games, all kinds of useful programs for children. There are not many of them yet.

Question: What will it come to? What kind of children will we raise?

Answer: Children are already growing up in a virtual space; they are no longer particularly interested in our world. The next generation will be in this space all the time, shopping through the virtual world, learning through the virtual world, everything through the virtual world. There will be a human being and a screen.

I believe that such action of nature is absolutely justified; we cannot criticize nature. We can only think about how to correctly use what is emerging in us in each period of existence.

Question: What is now emerging in children?

Answer: The possibility to build a world for themselves is emerging in them. The world! Their own! That is, a person is gradually moving from the world imposed on him by his animalistic body to the world that he will create for himself with his spiritual body, and in it he will exist. And this world will include absolutely everything.

We only have to observe how nature develops us. And it develops us in a very interesting way, by gradually giving us the opportunity to create a new reality for ourselves, and to exist within it.

Question: What will the child want to see and feel in this reality?

Answer: The child will subconsciously feel an attraction to this, a movement toward it, an impulse. And his movements toward the new reality will gradually compel him to acquire new qualities.

The next stage will be such that the child will want to exist in this, not because of some program, but because he himself will be changing. For now, we are only going through an intermediate stage.

But since nature leads us forward and causes all these movements, impulses, and urges in us, the next stages will be such that through the construction of a new virtual world, through the computer, we will suddenly feel that we ourselves have to change in order to enter directly into this nature. Behind what we have drawn, behind what we have created, there actually exists another world that has not been drawn for us.

For this, there is no need to install new programs on my supercomputer. I need to reprogram myself a little bit, and then I will indeed exist in the new world.

That is where we will come to. But perhaps not even in this generation yet.
