Any culture is the filling of a nation. Kabbalah is a very important part of the culture of Israelis as it is essentially the foundation of the Jewish people.

On what basis did this group emerge three and a half thousand years ago under the leadership of Abraham? The basis is the unification of completely different people—descendants from various nations whom Abraham gathered together, created a group from them, and called it “the people of Israel” because Israel means straight to the Creator, because this group is aimed precisely at attainment of the quality of bestowal, and connection.

In fact, the Jews are not a nation, but a collection of representatives of all the nations of ancient Babylon, a few from each nation. Therefore, we see how ready they are to distance themselves from one another.

They do not feel a biological connection between them. Only when an external danger arises do they involuntarily unite because for them that is common. If the world did not have a special attitude toward them, they would not think about uniting at all and would not even look at each other, because biologically they represent completely different roots. They are united only by the external hatred of those around them.

That is why if the Jews themselves do not want to unite, then hatred toward them arises among the nations of the world, and then they involuntarily draw closer to one another. But this unification is not for the correction of the world, but only for a certain correction.

The world has entered a state where it is beginning to destabilize itself because it needs to ascend to the next degree. Its highest degree is called “Adam” (man) since all of nature is divided into four levels: inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human.

We are approaching 6,000 years, the end of human history. We think that the Earth is spinning and will continue to spin. No, the Earth will not spin forever, because the world is merely our perception of ourselves and our surroundings. In and of itself, it does not exist. Without us, there is no world. This entire reality exists in our imagination.

We must understand that the time has come for us to transition from this reality to its next level, the spiritual one. That is, we must move from a world that exists based on the methodology of connecting egoistic forces to a world that exists according to the methodology of the quality of bestowal.

This transition is achieved only through the connection of people when we strive to come closer to one another and ask the Creator to give us the force of unity. But we must feel the need for it; that is, we need to create such a negative potential within the group, such a need for this force, that the Creator is truly revealed between us, and the force of unity begins to govern us. Then, through us, as the head of the Partzuf, this force will flow to all other parts of humanity.

Question: You said that knowledge is what we feel in egoism. Does this mean that faith is what we try to build above it, that is our soul?

Answer: Yes, knowledge is egoism and faith is altruism, the opposite quality when I act not for myself, but for another.

The Creator shattered egoism into many parts so that I could work either from my own egoistic part or for the sake of others. This becomes my altruistic component.

If the Creator had not broken the vessel, I would have no way to achieve the quality of bestowal. To whom would I bestow? Now, however, I am compelled to bestow to someone outside myself. This other person was once part of me. We were all together in one body before the shattering of Adam. Now they are outside of me, which is why I hate and reject them.

But if I work on them as though they were with me in one desire, in one body as a single whole, then I am acting altruistically.

Question: On one hand the light is constant; on the other the lights come on holidays and on Saturday (Shabbat). Does our perception change because of this?

Answer: The light changes only relative to people, but in reality it is unchanged. It is absolutely even and infinite, and fills everything, and all the usual sensations that unfold on the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh day (Shabbat) and further into holidays and special dates are special states of our soul.

They will exist until we completely correct it. As soon as we correct our common soul, everything will turn into one continuous light, into a single day.

Each and every individual in society is like a wheel that is linked to several other wheels placed in a machine. This single wheel has no freedom of movement in and of itself but continues with the motion of the rest of the wheels in a certain direction to qualify the machine to perform its general function (Baal Sulam, “Peace in the World“).

However, we do not see this in our world, not in the entire universe or even in one tiny part of it. There is not a single part of the general machine that would work correctly anywhere, at any level.

Initially everything that was created was corrupted, but it is moving toward correction. In the end, everything will end in a general corrected state when all the cogs will spin together in one direction, with one purpose, without any conflict between them in complete mutual understanding.

How should a person act so as not to block this machine? After all, none of us know its laws and cannot see our future since this machine is infinite, and man’s influence on it is also infinite. It turns out that one can only be sure of the correctness of those actions that are directed at one’s immediate environment, that is, in relation to one’s friends.

Everyone needs to find out what the general function of the machine is, and how to move his or her part in order to correct the whole machine and make it work correctly.

This machine is a common soul; each of its gears is a separate private soul, and a ten is a separate connection of close souls. So how can a person influence this machine correctly?

There are parts in the machine that one must activate with the help of one’s mind, experience, and sensitivity; and there is also a duty to activate this machine on the level of faith, from a sense of duty in relation to some parts of the machine because this is the desire of the upper one.

This machine ultimately gives a person the knowledge of in what form he or she should connect with everyone in order to feel this machine as perfect. A person must make the right decision and achieve the right correction between all parts of the machine to feel oneself to be at the center of decision-making and to take responsibility for the final result.

Question: We have groups and tens in our community. What should a group consist of? Are there any key elements that characterize it?

Answer: A group means several subgroups or tens. Ten is a minimal association, what is called a Minyan, there is nothing smaller than it in spirituality. This is the HaVaYaH, a unit, a cell.

Our current task is to reach a state where we unite into such a ten. Then we will represent a unit that exists in spirituality; until then, we do not exist.

When there are many such units gathered, they represent a spiritual body. But this is already a great achievement. If such a state manifests itself in our time, it will be a tremendous accomplishment.

And a final correction occurs when all the tens that should gather from the shattered soul of Adam unite together into a single spiritual body called Adam. Therefore, a group means at least a few tens united by a common aspiration.

Where do we begin to correct the collective soul if we do not know the overall function of this system, cannot see its gears, meaning the individual souls, and do not yet understand the role of our own “gear” in this mechanism?

We need to find the general formula, and we will be able to determine all the components from it.

Therefore, we are required to go through many states, and in each of them there will be some unknown. When we connect all these states, all the unknowns, into one system, we will be able to find the key parameter on which the entire result depends.

In other words, everything ultimately depends on the proper connection because this machine needs nothing else. If we can identify this key parameter—the main secret of the system—everyone will find peace and achieve total unity and harmony that will allow them to continue indefinitely.

Answer: “600,000” is a purely symbolic marking of the number of souls that must unite to fully reveal the Shechina. Therefore, you should not cling to the number.

Question: How can we practically come closer to feeling the common soul?

Answer: You need to find connection with other groups or individual friends and try to be united in understanding the uniqueness of the Creator, the oneness of our desire, the Kli (vessel), and how we can help each other in this unification.

The entire work of the created beings essentially boils down to learning how to be connected with one another so that the Shechina can be revealed within them and the revelation of the Creator to people is not partial but complete. This is what we aspire to.

Question: Is the revelation of the Shechina a kind of collective feeling?

Answer: No, the revelation of the Shechina is felt differently by each person.

The most important thing for us is to come together, both men and women, as one common whole. Through this, we can begin to feel the piece of Adam within us.

Question: How can we not miss the opportunity at this convention to connect all the parts into one soul?
