Question: We say that everything depends on the connection between us. But what is this connection?
Answer: We begin our spiritual development from a point that is outside of spirituality. And the whole time we remain on this point outside spirituality called this world in which we now exist.
Why? So that we would be independent from the spiritual world. The spiritual world is like a huge sphere, and we are now outside of it, off to the side. And then I can enter it, or I can choose not to. I am as if independent.
When the point in the heart is awakened within me, I begin to strive toward this sphere even though I do not yet picture myself as a tiny dot next to a huge, awe-inspiring sphere into which I wish to enter. But I am drawn to it.
With this desire, this yearning for spirituality, I come to a group. What is this group? Men sitting together, studying, talking, being inspired, discussing, singing, eating. Some sort of club—rather strange, but there are many such places in the world.
I look at this group as just an ordinary gathering of people in this world. Then they tell me: “You must connect with us, join the group, take part in all the activities, the duties, take on certain responsibilities, because we have a common work.” I am ready; what else can I do… After all, I see some benefit in it.
So, I connect with these guys because I understand that together we will apparently achieve something. Besides, I do not see any other place where I could do this, so I comply.
Gradually, over the years, I discover that in this place where I am, there truly is an inner connection. I come to discover this after several years. And those years were not in vain. They were years of my inner work, when I did not feel it, but the upper light was acting and performing many actions within me at great speed. Then I begin to hear. What does it mean “to hear”? I suddenly begin to pay attention, to give value to the inner connection between us, the unity in feelings, in hearts.
It is just that the time has come, and I begin to be moved by these words, to give them importance. This is the result of the light that had been working on me all those years, penetrating ever deeper into my heart, and the heart began to respond to these words: “connection,” “mutual guarantee,” “love,” “bestowal,” “as one man with one heart.” I begin to feel some inner responses to these words. For each word, there is a certain reaction within me; I sense the inner essence of the word.
More months go by, and more, and more. For this is how we correct our foundations, the Malchut of infinity within us, until I truly begin to draw closer to my friends. I now see them as companions on my spiritual path, and I understand that this path runs inward, into us, into our inner center, into our inner connection. And there, if we unite, we attain everything.
And if before I imagined the spiritual world as a huge sphere outside of me, perhaps somewhere far beyond the boundaries of the Universe, now I increasingly associate spirituality with my inner feeling, which is revealed in the unity between us.
This place does not exist now, but if we begin to connect with one another, we will create a new reality, which will be called “the place.” From these shared desires we will reach the place in which the Creator will be revealed.

Question: We go through difficult states where the ego convinces us that there is no unity, that all the friends are egoists, and only faith in the teacher and love for the friends help us get out of this.
Where can I get the strength here so that I have a desire to bestow as well?
Answer: It is faith in the Creator and not in the teacher or in the friends.
For now, we are still a rather weak force. But faith in the Creator, meaning the desire to feel Him, to be on the same wavelength with Him, will help you rise above your current desire.

Question: How should we work with insults? Children do not help their parents; they have practically abandoned them. Someone truly betrayed someone else, someone sold out a friend, and so on. How should we work with these offenses?
Answer: I think we need to reach a level of development at which we will understand that all the people around us are puppets controlled by the Creator so that we can properly correct ourselves in relation to these people, justify them, and wish them well.
Question: Is that possible?
Answer: Generally, yes. Not always and not immediately, but still…
Question: It is a long process, but that is the direction we should go in?
Answer: Yes! Otherwise, you are slandering the Creator. And that is a completely different matter. There the calculation is entirely different—it is a matter of how you perceive the universe: whether it exists on its own, or whether you govern it. If everything comes from above, then we have no other choice but to make ourselves absolutely submissive, agreeable, and capable of changing to resemble this upper force.
Comment: That is beautiful. I would cautiously suggest that our whole world is a world of sinners. We all exist in a state of hatred and constant offense.
My Response: Like little children in a sandbox.
Comment: And we respond, and respond; we keep responding. Look at all the diplomatic corps, how they clash: “You expelled my diplomats…”
My Response: Stop joking! Just stop. This is all…
Question: Then why are we being joked with like this?
Answer: So that we eventually become truly disappointed. Not in how the Creator made us this way, but in how foolish we were not to realize why He made us this way. And the answer is right in front of a person, but he does not want to see it. But all this is so that it accumulates, breaks through, bursts out, and explodes.
Question: If people begin to follow this direction little by little, what will our world become?
Answer: Our world will transform from today’s madhouse into a world where people are engaged in self-research, self-healing, and self-building.
Question: And through that, do they, as it were, bring the Creator into this world?
Answer: Yes, to the extent that this happens, the Creator is revealed within them.
Question: And what do you mean by “the revelation of the Creator in a person”? What does that mean?
Answer: The quality of bestowal, of love, which elevates us to an entirely different level of perceiving the world.
Question: Are you certain that there is only one path, and no other?
Answer: No, there can be no other path.

Comment: Researchers have found a formula for box office success of a screenplay. Films that follow a certain pattern make the most money; the pattern is a sharp fall and followed by a rise.
My Response: Of course, a “happy ending.” To do this, you need to create a drama and then gradually bring it to a happy ending. People cry and come out of the movie theater moved. Or when they finish watching TV at home, they feel content and joyful.
Question: Is it the same in Kabbalah?
Answer: It is the same in Kabbalah, of course. That is how it works: there is no rise without a fall, no love without hate, and so on.
This is the whole method of Kabbalah—ascents and descents. “And there was evening, and there was morning, one day.” It all starts with the evening, with night, with descent.
This needs to be learned, one must know how to control it so all ascents and descents are controlled, and a person enjoys descents as much as ascents. That is the thing!
Just like with scientists: achieving a result is good, applause, awards, all else. But the search, the suffering, the birth of everything new, this is pleasure, this is creativity!
Comment: An ordinary person wants to get out of misfortune as quickly as possible.
My Response: To do this, he needs to understand the general equation of nature. Everything goes exactly according to this sine wave. There is a special progression in this, and in this way, everything is created in nature.
Question: Can a person accept this?
Answer: It needs to be explained. But who is going to do it? That is the problem! There are no people to do this. Nobody has the strength to go up to people and start explaining it all to them, they just turn away.
Comment: It is easier to take antidepressants and disconnect. Or smoke something.
My Response: Smoking something is the future of humanity. But life will lead us. Nature is shaking us up; we are close to people beginning to listen because there is no other way out. Humanity will find itself in a state where, like a small child, it stands in the middle of the room, not knowing what to do, and cries.
Question: Where is that lifeline so one understands that this is a descent for the sake of a great ascent?
Answer: No, he should be really scared and cry out. He must find that he cannot calm down because no help comes from anywhere. There is no mother, no adults, no one to rely on. And all the time, a bear, a wolf, or something else keeps coming out from different corners of this room. Then humanity will begin to listen to what the Kabbalists have to say about it.
An egoist cannot listen to anything unless he is scared. This is the only thing that leads humanity to its goal. Through evil to good, through thorns to the stars, that is the only way.
Good luck to all of us in this!

Question: What is a true spiritual vessel (Kli)?
Answer: A true Kli is a desire ready for correction. I must fully clarify what part of it I can correct toward bestowal and what part I cannot correct and must simply restrict.
For example, I’m given a desire, and I determine that I can correct 20% of it toward bestowal, and 80% I must restrict and make Sof out of it, the end of the Partzuf. This would mean that I have corrected that entire desire. There are always both kinds of desires, but it must be clear to me what to do with each.
However, within me there may awaken desires that I do not understand. The light reaching me may be insufficient to illuminate all desires in every detail. Therefore, I am left with unclarified desires called Hash and Mal, Noga.
I am as if in a fog, and I must not touch part of these desires. I only need to keep them alive, like Klipot, to maintain some form of life in them. Such compromises I must accept out of helplessness and inability to carry out a correction. Thus, unlike clarified desires called “root,” “soul,” and “body”, these desires are called “garments” and “palaces,” meaning they are as if not mine, not my true desire.
Later, at the very end of correction, these desires will become truly mine. They will join what is called “brain,” “bones,” and “tendons,” and will become my single spiritual vessel, and will revealing that all reality is within me. Not as it is now where it seems to me that there is myself and an external world outside of me.
