Question: Why do we keep talking only about the connection between us, and not about the connection with the Creator?
Answer: Right now, we are talking about the realization of our mission, and that is why we devote so much attention to the connection between us. The ultimate goal is adhesion with the Creator according to the law of equivalence of form, which means for us to become a “Man,” “Adam,” that is, similar to the Creator.
To achieve this, we must prepare our spiritual vessel (Kli) by making it similar to the upper one. This Kli must be one for all, where all its parts unite as one man with one heart. It must include all our hatred, jealousy, ambition, pride, and thirst for power, and above all this, we must rise and unite in order to become similar to the Creator and attain adhesion with Him.
We may think that the Creator exists somewhere outside of us, but in the end, He is revealed within the very same common spiritual Kli that we build among ourselves. Therefore, to have the right perspective, we must perceive everything as existing in one place. We are building this place for the revelation of the Creator! It exists exactly where we unite with each other above our egoism.
Our egoism remains below, and above it we build connections between us. And if our connection becomes really strong, based on the power of the light that reforms, then within it we will reveal the Creator (Boreh), which means “come and see” (bo–reh).
It is not that He is somewhere high above in heaven and I am doing something down here to reveal Him up there. I reveal Him precisely within the connection between souls, between the organs of the spiritual body as the inner light that fills it.
But people think that we isolate the Creator from our discussion and talk only about our connection with each other, and this is because inwardly they are not ready to agree that there is a connection between our work, studies, dissemination, uniting with each other—and the Creator.
Each one imagines the Creator as something exalted and is willing to unite with Him, but not with another person. They do not understand that this is the same thing. It is the deeper connection between people, the quality of bestowal that is called “the Creator,” but human nature does not allow one to agree with this…

Question: You said that from within the ten we can connect to the state of the upper, and even to the upper of the upper. How do we connect to this state?
Answer: We have the ability to be connected with the higher and even with the upper of the upper if we ask for it.
For this, we must have sufficient Hisaronot (desires) to connect to these states. Let’s engage in this, and then you will see how it works.

When we mark the Memorial Day (day of passing) of the ARI we commemorate it with a festive meal, in which many students all over the world participate, those who honor this special soul who opened for us the path to spiritual liberation: to exit the final exile and attain the revelation of the Creator.
The revelation of the Creator is the revelation within us of the qualities of love and bestowal that connect us all together. And to the extent that we unite, we will reveal within ourselves the upper force, the higher, spiritual life.
If we speak of the ARI as a man who lived and died, and not as a soul eternally existing in the spiritual realm, then he was the one who threw the end of a rope to us here in this world, and by holding onto it we can begin to ascend to the spiritual world from our current state.
This is why we are so grateful to the ARI and honor him so greatly. We want to be as close to him as possible because he represents us the desire of the Creator, and thanks to him, we rise.
Baal HaSulam writes that he did not add anything to the teaching of the ARI, but only explained it. Every Kabbalist who came after the ARI developed his teaching a little further; the ARI laid the very foundation of the method of correction.
You might ask what about Abraham, who is called the father of the nation, was it not he who possessed the method of correction? But in the time of Abraham, we had not yet gone through the shattering of the souls, the destruction of the First and Second Temples, nor had the period of exile ended.
The ARI lived at the very end of the era of the last exile; from him onward began the “birth pangs” of the era of redemption, when we must begin to ascend. Therefore, the ARI took all the Kabbalah of the past, the Kabbalah of the Patriarchs and of the time of exile, and from it created the method of the correction of souls. This is why this man is especially dear to us.
Let us hope that we will merit becoming true students of the ARI!

Comment: The economic downturn is hitting not only people’s pockets but also their mental well-being. Workers are plagued with depression and severe stress. Absences due to illness is pretty high as well. Stress is a normal phenomenon of the body that is necessary for its development and protection. However, if stress becomes chronic, we have no time to recover, and exhaustion sets in. The immune system is the first to suffer from stress.
My Response: But it is stress and depression that will trigger the need for true healing and the search for a good, comfortable feeling as more important rather than profit or power. The desire for simple peace of mind will lead people to understand true values. They can be achieved only by universal rapprochement, by creating a positive overall environment.
The fatigue of competition and the senselessness of profits will manifest itself in everyone and define a new kind of existence for the sake of attaining the root of life, rising to a new level of sensation of nature, its eternity and harmony. This is how nature leads us to our goal through suffering.

Comment: Judging by the number of natural disasters lately, we see that humans bring disorder into nature. But it is commonly accepted to treat nature like an inanimate system, and think that we only cause it “mechanical” damage.
Yet you say the root is on a higher level, in the incorrect relationships between people.
My Response: The main problem is learning to see ourselves inside nature, not outside of it as we usually think. We are responsible for nature, for the house that we live in. We have been placed in a house full of buttons, but we do not know what they do. We press one button and a hurricane hits us; we press another and there is a tsunami or a fire. Press a third one and everything is wonderful.
So what are we to do? Humanity is like a helpless child who sits in a small house in the middle of the forest, and does not know how to behave. This means that we must grow correctly in order to become truly free.
When a person leaves their home to go into the forest or mountains, they think they are “going into nature,” but that is a false perspective. It is as if they are stepping out of their house into the house of animals. But nature is also their house! We must stop viewing nature’s integral system as something external to us.
We need to feel that we are inside nature, that we influence it and it influences us, and that this mutual connection is currently incorrect. Therefore it is the person who must change.
The still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature are in instinctive harmony with the system of nature. A human being must also be in full harmony with it, despite having a nature that is completely opposite.
If we want to rise above the animate level, we must consciously develop a correct attitude toward nature to feel that we are within an integral system and to learn how to be integrally connected to the still, vegetative, animate, and human levels of nature.
We are obligated to build the human system based on the same principles by which the rest of nature operates. That means that we must learn from nature how to structure the human system since we have completed our development at the animate level, and are now beginning to evolve further. And here, on an inner human level, we are now required to complete ourselves.
A person’s task is to learn from nature how to be connected with it. Nature shows us that all its elements are in mutual connection. This interconnectedness is evident on all levels.
So the question arises about how a person can become integrated in this system in a way that allows them to feel their environment correctly and engage in mutual exchange, to receive and to give in balance with nature, just as all other parts of nature behave? The still, vegetative, and animate levels instinctively maintain mutual balance.
To us it may seem that they destroy and kill one another, but this is only how it appears from our egoistic viewpoint. In reality, they instinctively preserve the correct balance that the general law of nature obligates them to keep.
But that law does not compel a human being because we must observe it consciously.
Animals are guided by instinct, but humans must apply their own effort to reach balance with nature.
