Raise the Importance of the Creator

938.03Question: Increasing the greatness of the Creator overcomes all obstacles in the ten. How can we further raise His greatness in the ten and in the entire world Kli so that we can all unite and cover everything with love?

Answer: Only if you are among people who care about it. Together, you raise His greatness in your conversations, meals, actions, and so on. And the higher the importance of the Creator in your eyes, the more you will raise yourself.

Moreover, by elevating the greatness of the Creator, you will please Him.

Under the Control of the Desire to Receive

506.2A person can exist within the desires of a “slave,” a “woman,” and a “child,” whether they understand them or not. After all, an infant is so little; it does not understand its own state. A person might say: “I am little.” Why? Because one sees the “big” one. But what does it mean to be “little”? One must become “big” in order to examine what it means to be “little.”

A person cannot comprehend the level they are on, one cannot surpass it, because the cause of their level and all the forces acting upon it exist on a higher level, perhaps not even the closest higher one, but a level that contains Rosh, Toch, and Sof acting in relation to their current state.

A child may be two, three, or four years old; these are all levels, but not levels from which he can know what a small child truly is.

Therefore, in any case, when we are talking about people immersed in self-love who are in fact under the control of the desire to receive, then because they are under its influence, they are not free from it.

And in order to advance them, to pull them from level to level, from state to state, until they exit the desire to receive and acquire the property of Bina, to be able to critically analyze this desire and determine their relationship to it at least to some degree independently, we must relate to them in a way that their own desire wants advancement. Otherwise, by what means would they move forward?

Thus, one must supply their desire to receive with appropriate fulfillments each time.

This is exactly what the sages, the Kabbalists who understand human nature, advise.

Make Sure the Day Is Not Lived in Vain

912Comment: There are moments when a person clearly knows what they want. Let us say they desire a red car or a three-story brick house, and they strive toward it.

Then there are times when a person feels something inside, but does not understand exactly what it is. There is some kind of abstract form.

My Response: It does not matter. They still want. They still reach for something, and that is what helps them grow.

How do we pursue something as children? Do we really know what we are striving for? We are pushed forward, back and forth, opening things, throwing them, tearing them apart, building, placing, and so on. Just watch what young children do. That is how they develop. Follow their example.

Question: But what is the right way to follow a child’s example? You can seemingly do everything, yet still go about it the wrong way.

Answer: But you are not a small child. You must analyze yourself and your goal with precision. The higher and more eternal and perfect your goal is, the more it is detached from mere animalistic existence, and the more human you become. You need to set a goal and genuinely desire it. How else? If I wake up in the morning and want nothing, then what kind of person am I? That is why I have a schedule for the day, and I must complete everything: answer questions on my blog, prepare materials, appear in a program, give a lesson, and so on. This is my duty, and I cannot escape it.

But beyond that there is another internal program I must fulfill: work on some qualities, some values, conduct clarifications, and bring myself to a certain internal state. This is a necessity! Without this, the day is wasted.

Schools Teach the Wrong Thing

165Comment: I know a lot of teachers. Almost all of them agree on one thing: today’s generation of children has a grudge against adults.

My Response: It is natural for children to complain about their elders. They believe that everything is owed to them, and that as children they deserve special attention and treatment. In fact, this is true, on one hand.

On the other hand, we do not educate children. School does not make a human out of a child. It makes them into physicists, mathematicians, mechanics, and so on.

This is a problem of all education and upbringing. We give children some kind of education, maybe, but we do not give them upbringing. They come out of school, every day after school and generally after graduation, and they are animals.

Comment: You said a terrible thing: “They are animals.” Are we to blame for this?

My Response: Sure, if parents are busy at work all the time and children are at school and somewhere out there with each other doing who knows what, so what do you want to happen?

Comment: They are more in their smartphones.

My Response: And that is what they get from there until humanity comes to its senses and takes the whole matter into its own hands, under the strictest control that a person cannot see and hear everything that is given to him. He must be educated! An education that provides a very serious attitude to life. If this does not happen, then of course we can see where everything is heading.

Question: A generation has grown up that says terrible things to people. And we raised this generation?

Answer: Of course, it is just us.

Question: What would you say to children if you were a teacher?

Answer: Let us figure out our lives, our relationships, and how to make sure that… Well, okay, we are already old people, but the next generation is you. What should you be like to make life kind, good, confident, safe, and so on? What should we do? How can we raise such people? And we need to talk about it. We need to think about it, because our main task is to raise a person—not mathematics or physics, or anyone else.

Comment: It will not be easy to soften them up.

My Response: No, they should not be pitied. They should still realize a little bit that the world toward which everything is heading is an inhuman, cruel, mechanistic and very unpleasant world, unsuitable for existence.

Question: And will they understand this if you talk to them?

Answer: I think so.

Question: Can these children change?

Answer: Yes, but not with one conversation.

Question: So the change will happen through a series of conversations?

Answer: Even if takes a few years, what is the difference? But we have to push for it all the time.

The Role of Women in the Family

514.02Question: Can there be such a bond between a man and a woman that they move forward together without conflicts and achieve a common goal?

Answer: It is quite possible. In the future this is how it will be to the extent of aspiration, correction, similarity, and the general ascent of all humanity to a spiritual level.

But for now, we are still in states that have not yet entered the spiritual world. Therefore if a couple has not reached the upper world, they experience very problematic tensions, ascents, and descents that are not synchronous. So there are significant challenges here. It does not matter that they both are studying Kabbalah and want to succeed. In practice, it still does not work out well.

Comment: But you went into this very deeply; you must have had problems in your family.

My Response: My wife has always supported me in everything! The moment we met, I told her that we would definitely move to Israel, that I needed to find the purpose of life, and I did not see that it was possible to do it in Russia. That was 1970. She agreed even though she could have said no. Since then we have had no issues.

I make the main decisions in life. She knows it would not work otherwise. But I, on my part, never rested until I had provided for her. That is, first and foremost I always thought about how to provide for the family. This earthly duty is absolutely clear and definite to me. But everything left after I brought my salary home is mine—the rest is for the soul.

Comment: But she practically does not see you.

My Response: We have a tradition. Once a day we go for a walk in the park and talk for about an hour. I do not think that an average couple has the opportunity to talk daily in a calm setting, without staring at the TV, or a plate at dinner, or exchanging just a few words while she is in the kitchen and he is on a couch in the living room.

You might ask, “What can you talk about every day for so long?” We talk about our grandchildren, about what interests her. I tell her a bit about what I am working on.

Question: About spiritual matters?

Answer: No, about ordinary things. But she feels everything even without studying. She watches our channel and is aware of everything. She has invested a lot into this. She took care of my teacher, cooked for him and did his laundry. As a woman, she did a lot in order to begin understanding Kabbalah. And now she is aware of everything. She listens to the programs, and often criticizes my lessons or talks. So I am genuinely interested in her opinion. In this sense, I am truly satisfied with my life partner.

Question: Does it happen that after a lesson you transmit some kind of energy to your wife, suppose, during a conversation?

Answer: No, none of that is necessary. We just walk and talk. These are all everyday matters. We walk at a brisk, sporty pace, and I share a bit about my activities because our lives revolve around this, and inevitably our children’s lives too.

I hope that when our grandchildren grow up, they too will be part of this system. So even when my wife and I talk about family or other matters, we are still in one way or another discussing things that are part of our Kabbalistic community.

The Need for a Kabbalist Teacher

961.2Question: If a student moves into the spiritual dimension, does he essentially no longer need a teacher?

Answer: One always needs a teacher!

There is practically no such thing as not having a teacher. In some way it can be a spiritual teacher that is not in a physical body that you can smell, touch, or something else, but it is the same teacher.

For example, I cannot have anyone else except Rabash. I cannot go to study with anyone, since our connection has already manifested itself as a connection between two souls. Such a hierarchy was conceived from the beginning! All this was arranged this way back in the world of infinity, in the connection between souls.

When the time comes, you find your teacher, and you come into contact. There is nothing else here! You just have to agree with this and work.

Question: So your students will not be able to become students of someone else?

Answer: No, not In Kabbalah.

They can try to study somewhere, but all this will be purely mechanical, conditional. It would not be real work.

My students must unite, and work together as equals, as a group, when I am gone. This is how they will lead all of humanity forward.

This entire group, without singling out anyone, must become the spiritual government of humanity, which humanity will feel the need for by that time.

Questions about Spiritual Work—240

281.02Question: Ultimately who is at war with the evil inclination, us or the Creator?

Answer: The Creator, and we help Him by pushing Him to do this, by supporting Him with our constant connection. This is the only way.

Question: If during the day one discovers he is not in a real war, there is no sincere prayer for inclusion in his friends, for helping them, then you need to start mentally developing this prayer.

I noticed that the evil inclination works against this thought, devalues it by saying if this is not a sincere prayer, it is better not to even start it. It seems pointless, it is not a real war. How does thinking of friends give them the strength to fight?

Answer: Here you need to take several cases like this and sort them out one against the other, then you will understand how to discern them.

Question: When we feel the strong influence of the Creator on us, is our effort to use the power of the group to come to inner peace, to hold it, or to feel in these efforts how the Creator rejoices? After all, it is written, our heart will rejoice in Him.

Answer: What will our hearts rejoice in? Only in the point where your qualities merge with those of the Creator.

Question: What kind of help do we need from our friends?

Answer: We need support. We only need an example and support in actions, which I acquire from my friends and wish to implement.
