Kabbalistic Terms: “The Quality Of Hassadim”
Question: There is a concept in Kabbalah of the “quality of Hassadim,” “Hesed.” What does it mean?
Answer: Hesed is a property of bestowal. When such a quality arises in creation or a man aspires to it, we use the term “Hassadim.”
Question: It turns out that all of Kabbalah is about giving and receiving? Nothing else?
Answer: There is nothing else. In our world everything consists of plus and minus. All our thoughts consist of reception and bestowal.
Question: So, there are only two actions in society: either I receive from society or I give?
Answer: Absolutely correct.
Comment: But it seems like there’s a lot more.
My Response: No. Everything still consists of these two directions.
