Are We Responsible For Our Own Thoughts?

Laitman_143Question: Is a person responsible for his thoughts?

Answer: If before himself and the Creator, then yes. If before the rest of humanity, then no, because until thoughts turn into actions, we do not have problems with other people. But in principle, our thoughts are our actions.

Questions: And what if a person is horrified by his thoughts?

Answer: That is not important; they are his thoughts and he must correct them.

New Life 993 – Memory From Childhood To Old Age

New Life 993 – Memory From Childhood To Old Age
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

The collective memory exists within the higher system of nature and is available to us if we connect our memories with others. We do not remember the first years of our lives because we did not yet interact with the environment. We have memory problems in old age because the desire to receive is saturated. Kabbalists don’t forget or experience death because they constantly become renewed.

The Creator’s greatness removes all problems, disasters and obstacles. All pleasure/fulfillment comes only from the Creator’s greatness. Any flaw is caused by a lack of the Creator’s greatness and is corrected only by it, until we fill all of reality with the Creator.
#Kabbalah

Work in faith above reason (bestowal above reception) is the only thing we must master in this life, building 125 degrees of our spiritual development, equivalence with the Creator. Its foundation is the sensation of the Creator’s greatness above all: Who rules—Pharaoh or Creator.

Faith is the force of bestowal, given from above. Faith = bestowal. All we need for this is to demand for the Creator’s greatness to be greater than egoism. This will draw light to us that will lift us to the degree of faith/bestowal—above reason, egoism and problems.
#Kabbalah

The upper system expanded from the world of Infinity till our world, forming us opposite to it. We have to evoke its influence on us,  then it becomes our Creator, as it is written, “You have created Me,” since “There’s no Creator without the creatures.”
#Spiritualwork #Kabbalah

The Book of #Zohar describes the world as a net of tangled connections. The nation of #Israel is the central knot in this net. Its role is to unite and serve as an example of unity for the world. Then Hamas’s attacks will cease, along with the whole world’s complaints against us!

Regarding the need to unite, Kabbalists say, “The main protection against disasters is unity. When there is love, unity, and friendship in the nation of Israel, no misfortune will touch it.” Maor va Shemesh
#Reality_ML #Kabbalah #israelunderfire #Palestine

Rav Kook: “If we don’t blow the horn of redemption (i.e., don’t unite, transmit the method of unity to the world), then Israel’s enemies come – Amalek, Hitler, and others, and “trumpet” in our ears, summoning us to come out of exile. They don’t let us rest.” Today, this is HAMAS.

With our efforts to achieve unity, we can compel the Creator to be revealed and correct us. This is the only thing we can do, since at its basis, the 1st act of bestowal is revealed in unity, and inside it, it then starts to grow and strengthen.
#Spiritualwork_ML #Kabbalah

Faith above reason is a force that arises around the point in the heart, grows it and enables it to operate. And we reveal that reality is not what it seemed—it is ruled and filled by one force.
This force ruled before too, but now this is revealed.

Breaking Israel News: “Breaking Israel News – Hamas & Israel“

The largest portal Breaking Israel News published my new article “Breaking Israel News – Hamas & Israel“:

“When there is love, friendship and unity in Israel, no calamity can happen to them, and all curses and torments are pushed away.”
Maor VaShemesh

Before we have even acknowledged the recent threat, we already find ourselves heaving a sigh of relief, as the ceasefire with Hamas seems to take hold.

But you would be wrong to assume the problem is solved. As always, we live in a temporary truce, feeling calm only before the next storm comes rolling in. So this time around, how about taking advantage of the temporary peace of mind to awaken ourselves and ask some serious questions before whatever will come next?

Let’s start with what does Hamas actually want from us?

Rav Kook tells us the following: “If we can’t blow the horn for redemption, the enemies of Israel such as Amalek, Hitler and so forth, rise up and blow in our ears for redemption.”

Alongside Rav Kook, many of the great sages of Israel – “the spiritual captains of Israel’s security” if you will – wrote that the solution to all our threats is our unity. The Maor VaShemesh puts it in a simple formula: “When there is love, friendship and unity in Israel, no calamity can happen to them, and all curses and torments are pushed away.”

In other words, when we blow the horn of love and unity among us, the whole world is listening, changing its attitude towards us in a positive way. But when we fail to do so, our enemies awaken us with blows to open our ears. Hamas is merely the enemy on duty.

How does this work exactly?

The sages weren’t being poetic in their writings and they weren’t practicing wishful thinking. They were describing a deeper system of laws that operate human society through the dynamic between Israel and the nations of the world.

The Book of Zohar describes the entire world as a vast network of intricate connections. The people of Israel make for a central junction in the network, and have a uniquely vital role: to unite “as one man with one heart” and to provide a positive example for the rest of human society – “to be a light unto the nations.”

Therefore, when we work on our unity, not just in times of distress, a healing influence of unity flows through “the Israel junction” to the rest of the human network, spreading to each and every person. In contrast, when we cause a traffic jam at the central junction, we invite subconscious resentment from the nations of the world, which manifest in various forms, from criticism to hatred, to straightforward violence.

Thus, regardless of how the struggle with Hamas plays out, Israel will still appear guilty in the eyes of the nations.

The last wave of pressure from Hamas made Israel’s national resilience raise its head for a few moments. Instead, it should serve as a reminder for how we should treat each other on a daily basis, so we can become the beacon of unity and positive connection that the whole world, deep down, expects us to be.

New Life 992 – The Infinite Human Memory

New Life 992 – The Infinite Human Memory
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

The goal of our development is for all of us to discover the entire memory that activates us, which is the program of creation. We are within a sea of information and receive forms and images from it that we call memory. Each person is given an impression of that infinite information according to his inner characteristics, desires, and “reminiscences.” In our current state, each one wants to extract different data from the infinite but we need to connect everything into one complete form. By doing this, we will elevate ourselves to the level of the Maatzil (Emanator), the level of the general information, to life in the upper Light. On this high level each one “bites off” his own portion of the upper Light and connects with others. That is how the one great Light is felt.

The Unconscious Development of Humanity

Laitman_177.06Question: What is the cause of the unconscious development of humanity for tens of thousands of years?

Answer: It seems to us as if this is a very long period of time. The universe and inanimate, vegetative, and animate nature developed precisely in order to clarify the difference between light and darkness.

This took place initially at the lowest, inanimate level, in atoms and molecules, etc. Then, it continued on the vegetative and animate levels, in various biological and zoological components of nature. Afterward, it took place on the human level of our world, not only in physiology, but also in human psychology.

Only after that can a person come closer to being worthy of starting research on a spiritual level.

The Greatness Of The Creator

laitman_260The Creator is a force that fills and arranges everything we think, see, feel, and say. The created beings have nothing in and of themselves. The Creator created and developed the will to receive. He fulfills, guides, and operates it. Therefore, we perform no independent actions. They are all actions of the Creator. There is none else besides Him.

Yet, even though the Creator completely controls us and performs all actions through us, we were given a special opportunity to be independent. We can be called independent creatures to the extent that we become like the Creator, but this is true only for those unique individuals who acquire faith in the Creator: a sensation of the upper force.

These unique individuals act exactly the way the Creator wants them to, but by their own will. All other people act in the same manner as the rest of nature—intuitively, unconsciously, and under the Creator’s full control. They only consider themselves “free” due to their limited perception. However, when people discover the Creator and yearn to resemble Him completely, they then become exactly like Him, and yet they are independent and free.1

The Creator created the will to receive. He guides, develops, and organizes all of its actions. Indeed, this will to receive completely depends on the Light and intuitively performs all the actions that the Light dictates. We see that this is how inanimate objects, plants, animals, and even human beings behave.

The Creator, however, chooses some people and gives them an opportunity to acquire the Creator’s powers, to make actions on their own, but only in order to resemble Him. Then they become free. Depending on the degree to which the person has ascended, the Creator ceases to operate them (either partially or completely) because the person operates himself exactly in accordance with the Creator’s desire.2

The Creator fully governs all of nature on the inanimate, vegetative, and animate levels. It is as if the human level does not exist. However, when a person becomes like the Creator and begins conducting himself like the Creator—when he learns this governance from the Creator and therefore is called “the wise disciple”—he ascends to the next degree and becomes “human” (“Adam“). This elevates him above the animate level, making him similar to the upper force and allowing him to attain the Creator.3

The sensation that the Creator dresses into a person—into all his desires, thoughts, actions, and impressions—is called the degree of obtaining faith. The person feels that the Creator governs the entire world by way of good that does good.

Faith above reason is the sensation of the Creator in all our organs, in our entire essence. A person must try to feel that the Creator governs him and the entire world by way of good that does good, despite the fact that the Creator spoils this sensation for him and shows him the complete opposite.4

The state of final correction is the complete dressing of the Creator into a person—when the upper force is felt in all our organs. We feel that the entire world is governed by the upper force and we have always performed and are performing actions of the Creator: first by coercion and then by our own will, with our consent. This is why we become devoted workers of the Creator, working out of love.5

A person’s work is to try resemble the Creator, as if He is dressed in us and He completely operates us. To the extent that we can imagine this state, we are inspired by it and turn the desired state into the existing one. The Creator has chosen us, and we are making steps toward Him. He loves us. He awakened us out of love, wanting us to resemble Him and to reach His state. We should not just imagine, but really feel how to do this.

We must try to establish such relationships between us, as if the Creator already dresses in us. Then we will feel how much our desired state fails to correspond to our existing state and we will raise a prayer (MAN) to the Creator, wanting to be in the Creator’s reality, not just in our imagination.

This is the person’s work: to force ourselves to imagine that the Creator is dressed in us and all our actions are defined by the sensation of the Creator in all our organs, in our relationships, and in our minds and hearts. However, since this is not yet our reality, but only imagination, egoism helps us understand the gap between the desired and the existing states, and we raise this gap to the Creator as a request for correction.

After all, in reality, we do not yet have faith, the sensation of the Creator, in all our organs because we have no spiritual organs to act as the connection between us where the Creator can dwell. Therefore, we turn to the Creator with the prayer to correct us and connect us in order for Him to be able to dress in us.6

The prayer includes two states: the existing state we see from our existing sensory organs and the desired state in which we imagine ourselves as if already connected with each other and that the Creator is revealed to us and dwells within us. The gap between these two states creates a great lack with which we turn to the Creator.7

The prayer must be built on the basis of the clarified gap between the desired state and the existing state. The prayer is not just a desire to eat a delicious apple. Through our efforts, we need to build the desired state within us, that is, to imagine the connection between us in order to reveal the Creator between us and to bring Him contentment.

Then we see that our current state is insufficient and inaccurate. The gap between the desired and the existing states becomes apparent to us and we raise it to the Creator. In answer to our prayer, we receive new desires, requirements that we did not have before and that we formed ourselves.

It is through them that we build our human degree, which we did not have before. From the Creator’s side, only inanimate, vegetative, and animate degrees are given. The human degree does not exist in matter, but only in thought and desire, and it is exactly what we are building now.

The degree of a person, Adam, is the inclination to get closer to the Creator. We need to envision it similarly to how we envision everything else we want in this world: I am in a certain state and want to change it to a better one—this is the desire of any living creature.8
