New Life #514 – A System Of Forces

New Life #514 – A System of Forces
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

There is a lot of information in the place we exist. As we develop, we communicate with this database, with everything that touches upon a link with the forces. This is an area in which there are many questions. It is an area that is completely unruly.
Kabbalah makes it possible for a person to build five additional spiritual senses (soul). With them he feels beyond this world.

Everything that I feel, I absorb with my “desire to receive.” I have the ability to open the desire to bestow to expand my perception. Through the desire to bestow and the five new senses that work outside and not inside, I feel a higher world. This perception doesn’t depend on my body, so I will sense an eternal, unlimited, and whole life.

The person then begins to see a round world, that everything is linked to everything. He begins to move toward connection. The spiritual world is the system of connection between us, the connecting link between everyone. It creates a new attitude toward life in him.

In the links between us, a stream of information about everything is found, about giving, about love, about links of mutual guarantee (Arvut) . The information streams between us all the time, between our desires.

The entire creation can be summed up as a desire for pleasure. A person who can restrict his desire to receive and wants to bestow, goes out to a network and he sees others who have the characteristic of bestowal in it. Like a flower that was closed and opens, he sees from one end of the world to the other, feels everything and understands everything.

The first tip on the way to opening your “flower” is – open your heart!

New Life #513 – Regarding Illumination And Spiritual Attainment

New Life #513 – Regarding Illumination and Spiritual Attainment
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

A person who is working according to the method of Kabbalah reaches illumination at some point. He feels that the world is full of a good force, love, and connection. This is like a cloud that descends upon the Earth. Then this passes, he continues to work; his definitions of what is considered an ascent and a descent change.

He wants to improve. For several years all the fundamental data in him are corrected, and he then enters into permanent illumination.

All of the evil that we see in the world is because our characteristics are broken. If we correct the ego, we see goodness. All the people in history who discovered the Light, found the tendency to love others.

The Rav chose the method of Kabbalah not because he was a Jew, but because this was a scientific method appropriate for everyone. In Kabbalah there are no physical exercises, there is daily training, studying the sources, and a group where we connect.

A person who discovers the Light sees that everyone is found within it unconsciously; his role is to help everyone feel the power of goodness, love, and connection.

The Prohibition On Incest

laitman_243_05Question: Why is there a prohibition on incest?

Answer: There is a prohibition on incest because there cannot be a connection between the upper Partzuf and the lower Partzuf in the spiritual body. The two Partzufim that are opposite one another mustn’t ascend to the same level since it leads to the shattering of the vessel.

On the whole this is also reflected in our world according to the principle of root and branch. Basically the Torah doesn’t speak about the corporeal states of the body in which we continue to keep the laws of the spiritual world according to the principle of “in His image and in His likeness,” but in the corporeal world, these are no longer laws but customs.

Envy, The Main Motivation For Connection On The Social Networks

laitman_959Research (from UBC): “A new study by Sauder School of Business Professor Izak Benbasat and his collaborators shows that envy is a key motivator behind Facebook posts and that contributes to a decrease in mental well-being among users.

“Creating a vicious cycle of jealousy and self-importance, the researchers say Facebook leads users to feel their lives are unfulfilling by comparison, and react by creating posts that portray their best selves. …

“Benbasat says the functionality of social networks encourages envy-inducing behaviour, and that’s unlikely to change.”

My Comment: At the heart of human nature is a desire to enjoy fulfillment through: food, sex, family, wealth, honor, and knowledge. Nature (the Creator) wanting to develop creations, awakens selfish internal development (natural) and external, a feeling of envy in them.

As we develop, the importance of external influence increases. So we quickly come to a feeling of emptiness —the lack of fulfillment from our world as a whole and a need to search for content outside of it. Therefore, the social networks are booming.

Immigration To Israel Is Expected To Rise

laitman_930Question: According to recent data, Aliyah (immigration) to Israel is expected to rise significantly in 2016: 10,000 Jews are expected to come from France alone, 3,000 from the US, 7,000 from Russia and 7,000 from Ukraine. The country is getting ready to absorb them. What is the right way to do it?

Answer: Every individual first needs a place of his own where he can live normally. This is what the country should engage in, not by contractors who for a fortune build horrible homes, but a national program to build simple, assembly line model houses that can be built quickly in the desired way. People will be happy to live in them. I am for giving the newcomers a key to an apartment and a minimal allowance that they can live on so that they will gradually become part of the work force.

People who come from these countries are highly skilled and experienced professionals who have many ties and know how to work. Israel needs to remain the world technological center and has to prepare everything needed in order to achieve that so the newcomers will be able to continue working in their profession, hi-tech, etc., regardless of their place of residence. This is possible today thanks to the Internet and in many cases it is possible to operate from Israel so that the newcomers will be able to continue their work they did in the countries they came from, keep their business going, continue their studies in universities, etc. as if they have never left. This will give them a sense of security and a person will feel that he can work and communicate in his mother tongue.

Question: What can you say about the newcomers from the Kabbalistic perspective?

Answer: People who are about to make a change should listen carefully to the advice of Kabbalists. They are forced to leave their homes and thus begin to understand that there is a special dependency here, a special force of nature, a plan of nature, a destiny you cannot escape from. They have to realize that it is predetermined not only for them but also for their children, and if they wish to stop the chain of anti-Semitic hatred, they have to find out the reason for it and understand how to turn this terrible problem that seems to have no solution into the revelation of the most sublime secrets in the world, in the transitions of all of humanity to a new dimension.

Then it will be revealed that the essence of the religion that the Jewish nation brought the world in all its forms: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc., all the faiths and everything there is, is only the preface of the great depths of the wisdom of Kabbalah, of the attainment of the upper secrets of nature, and on the basis of this knowledge, the transition to the next dimension.

Question: Do you believe that the ordinary people who come to Israel will be able to acquire this wisdom?

Answer: The have to, everyone has to, not only the Jews! We can do it very quickly because the force of nature only waits for the slightest attempt to be activated on our part, for the push of the start button, and then everything will begin to move.

New Life #512 – Virtual Life On The Way Toward Unity

New Life #512 – Virtual Life on the Way Toward Unity
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

Summary

We are living in a transitional period in which all of our lives are entering the computer. The world of the future will be entirely digital; the new generation wants to experience the world only through the screen.

In the future the Internet will link us so we will feel connected and mutually dependent, as if we were sitting together in one living room. The developmental trend is to bring us to an integral link between everyone, as if we were a single family.

The traditional family unit is crumbling, each one is immersed in his screen. We will yet see that the future conceals within it a different form of connection. We are standing before a fundamental change in our lives. The screens will be part of our body and we will see the world through them. People will build new connections between them; they will learn a new language, the language of connection.

The Solidarity Of Terrorism

laitman_222Opinion (Warwick Mark Harrison): “Now when we look at suicide terrorism, it is clearly not a cry for help. It is a determined attempt to destroy oneself and others. So it has to be understood in those terms. But the thing that I think it has in common is the need first will to understand the self. This is something that economists are probably not always very good at. Economists talk very freely about self-interest. It is commonplace in economic textbooks to find the idea that human behavior is driven by the desire to maximize one’s self-interest or one’s personal utility. What’s not commonly asked is who is the self whose interest is being maximized. …

“So one way that social psychologists understand suicide is that the person who commits suicide has a determined attempt, has reached the point where they can no longer protect the identity they have by staying alive and protecting the identity they have requires an active self-destruction. …

“When we look at people who commit acts of suicide terrorism, what we see is people who have gone on a journey that’s invested them with the self that requires self-destruction, because the identity that is required is that of the martyr, the witness to religious truth that can only be validated through death. And in the one of the things that we see when we look at the organization of suicide terrorism is that it’s not committed, acts of suicide terrorism are not committed by people who are desperate; it is not committed by people who are in any way particularly unusual psychologically. It is committed by young people who’ve been trained to see themselves as martyrs to a faith. …

“In the process of being recruited they don’t actually learn a lot about global politics, they don’t learn a lot about the demands of the organization, they don’t learn a lot about political strategy. In fact, these things are not very important to them.

“What they are looking for is some form of social solidarity.

“And you can get social solidarity in many ways: you can get it from working together in a firm, you can get it from joining a choir or a cycling club or a sports club, but you can also get it – we know this from a lot of examples – you can get it by joining together to commit acts of violence. Sometimes that’s football hooliganism, sometimes it’s terrorism. …

“So Abraham’s point is that to understand what people are looking for when they join the organizations it’s important to understand the lure of powerful social ties.

My Comment: Solidarity, a sense of unity, can be realized only through egoistic self-sacrifice or by rising above the ego; it is leading humanity forward.

Do We Need A Second Half?

Laitman_049_03Question: Must we get married for spiritual advancement?

Answer: No. Today this is no longer necessary.

In our day people have lost the desire to get married, raise a family, invest in a family, and the education of children is a big hassle for them.

Our generation was educated in a completely different way. Everyone had to get married, bring children into the world, educate them and give them a direction in life. These questions were always in front of us. But today, as a rule, parents aren’t very concerned about these things.

Comment: But in principle nature obligates us to live in a family.

Answer: That is how it once was, but for the new generation there is no need for this. In our day marriages are no longer necessary conditions even for those who want to develop spiritually.

My teacher Rav Baruch Shalom Ashlag obligated his students to marry and only someone who married was considered to be his student.

Unfortunately, I cannot demand this from my students because the wisdom of Kabbalah must extend and be disseminated all over the world. If I placed any conditions, we would not succeed in disseminating the wisdom of Kabbalah. The main thing is that people should hear and know at least a little about what the wisdom of Kabbalah is, and that is how the circle of those who are interested will gradually expand.

But someone who truly wants to be seriously involved with the wisdom of Kabbalah on one of the stages of spiritual development will need to think about solving the problem of the family. A person who learns about the nature of the spiritual world feels that he must himself be like nature, and so he is obligated to have a second half.
