The Torah, Leviticus 13: 4-6: And if the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and the appearance thereof be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white, then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days.
And the priest shall look on him the seventh day; and, behold, if the plague stay in its appearance, and the plague be not spread in the skin, then the priest shall shut him up seven days more.
And the priest shall look on him again the seventh day; and, behold, if the plague be dim, and the plague be not spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean: it is a scab; and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.
A person gets corrected in the society. If my desires are correct and are focused on the benefit of society, I properly interact with the environment. However, if egoistic desires are suddenly revealed in me, I have to examine them to see whether I can correct them or not. If I can correct them by myself, then it is fine since the Torah says that we constantly err and constantly correct something.
However, if a certain form of ego is revealed in me, I have to be kept away from society since on one hand, I am “drilling a hole in the boat” and can corrupt the environment. However, on the other hand, if, within seven days, I acquire the right attributes with regard to the society and only the plague is not corrected yet, I must wash my clothes, which means to correct myself a little and return to society. It is because the remaining ego is very small, and the society and I can correct this problem.
However, if my ego cannot sustain itself and I am infected with leprosy while being away from society, I must be kept way in a more serious manner. A person in this situation cannot correct himself and mutually cooperate with the society.
Question: Why does the plague become so dark? Is this a sign of a pure state?
Answer: It is because for seven days, I am not under the influence of the society, under the influence of the Light. Everything is very simple.
