The EU Is An Empire

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News ( “There is a change of power in the EU member states. The voters prefer candidates from the ‘left.’ After the new leaders gain control, they find themselves under pressure from all kinds of creditors.

“The German banks are implementing financial schemes which force the national governments to be rigidly dependent on them. This activity hangs all of the countries of the southern region of the European Union “’on the hook.’ The EU was established as an alliance based on democracy, but, in fact, it emerges as a creation that is more clearly reminiscent of an empire.”

My comment: I think that it cannot be otherwise because there was no thought given to union but only economic unity, and even then only  limited economic unity. But the conditions for an integral world cannot be limited to such one-sided connections.
