Premonition Of The Future Revelation

laitman_236.01Torah, Deuteronomy 31:17 – 31:18: And My fury will rage against them on that day, and I will abandon them and hide My face from them, and they will be consumed, and many evils and troubles will befall them, and they will say on that day, “Is it not because our God is no longer among us, that these evils have befallen us?”

And I will hide My face on that day, because of all the evil they have committed, when they turned to other deities.

However, a person begins to understand that desires opposite to the Creator are revealed within him. It becomes clear to him from where and why everything comes. He feels that the Creator is hiding from him. This is already a premonition of the future revelation.

Question: Is this called good from the Creator’s side?

Answer: Of course. If I realize that the Creator is in concealment now because of my incorrect egoistic desires in which I feel this concealment, then I can ask for them to be corrected. Thus, my suffering will no longer be egoistic because I want to reveal the Creator in order to acquire the desire to bestow.

Then it is possible to demand, plead, and raise MAN—a prayer. And the Creator corrects the person’s desire and is revealed in the corrected desire.

Comment: The Creator says: “And they will be consumed, and many evils and troubles will befall them.” Yet, you are saying that it is the highest goodness. There are a lot of contradictions.

Answer: We are talking about those degrees where a person no longer feels any problems. He is ready for anything, only to continue revealing the Creator further. It is just a repose for him.

“Be Strong And Courageous!”

laitman_740.01Torah, Deuteronomy 31:06: Be strong and courageous! Neither fear, nor be dismayed of them, for the Lord, your God He is the One Who goes with you. He will neither fail you, nor forsake you.

Moses worried about the people as for his children. After all, he himself could not enter the land of Israel because he reached his highest stage and must wait for the next generation.

He seems to leap in our time and wait for today’s humanity to see the Light, to begin to pull itself up, educate itself, complete the same forty-year-journey through the desert (in the spiritual sense of the word), and be ready to enter the land of Israel, that is, the quality of absolute adhesion with the Creator.

And then all the great souls led by Moses will be able to unite with those who gather together from all over the earth, and together they will gain spiritual elevation.

Question: The stages described in the Torah span from Adam to the entrance to the land of Israel. Is all of humanity moving along these tracks?

Answer: Humanity must necessarily pass through the same states.

Question: That is, every person within himself should, as they say, write the Torah? Is this what it means to pass through all these states? And Moses is waiting until we reach him, that is, he is waiting until all the other desires get to him?

Answer: Not only does Moses await them, but also all the forefathers: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob with his wives, Adam HaRishon and Eve. All of them are there.

“This Song Will Bear Witness Against Them”

laitman_740.02Torah, Deuteronomy 31:21: And it will be, when they will encounter many evils and troubles, this song will bear witness against them, for it will not be forgotten from the mouth of their offspring. For I know their inclination what they [are planning] to do today, [even] before I bring them in to the land which I have sworn [to give them].

The Creator says to a person: “I know that you are a liar, a scoundrel, a traitor, and therefore, I direct you so that you can overcome it. However, this song will sound in you as evidence.”

This is a state when a person completes the previous step and ascends to the next.

Torah, Deuteronomy 31:22: And Moses wrote this song on that day, and taught it to the children of Israel

“The same day” means in the same state.

“For I Proclaim The Name Of The Lord…”

232.1Torah, Deuteronomy, 32:03: For I proclaim the name of the Lord; Ascribe greatness to our God!

Question: Why should “Amen” be said after the blessing?

Answer: “Amen” means truth, rightness. In all languages it is pronounced Amen, and is referred to as a seal after each indisputable statement.

Question: What does it mean: “For I proclaim the name of the Lord?”

Answer: This means that within my desire, or a part of it, I can perform an action when all parts of my desire will be collected in such a way that the Creator will reveal Himself in them. The Creator does not reveal Himself for no reason. He is a quality of bestowal. It should appear on some substrate, on some matter, on some basis. I must prepare this basis from my desires, from my relationships with others. If the relationship of absolute bestowal and love arises between us, then the Creator manifests in our inner relationships. This is His name.

Question: Why are different names of the Creator manifested all the time?

Answer: The names of the Creator are qualities of bestowal, of love, which are manifested in different styles at different levels.

The Creator has many styles because His common name is the ten Sefirot, the four-letter name HaVaYaH. It is not voiced in a person, it is only its manifestation in the properties of a person that is voiced. Therefore, there are ten so-called indelible names, ten Sefirot, in addition to others.

Question: We often say that He is great, good, loving, etc. Is it possible to call them names of the Creator?

Answer: No, these are epithets, not names. In the same way, I can say about a person: “He is good-natured, he is wise,” but this is not a name, it is his certain quality.

And They Will Learn To Fear The Lord

laitman_749.01Torah, Deuteronomy, Vayelech, 31:12 – 31:13: Assemble the people: the men, the women, and the children, and your stranger in your cities, in order that they hear, and in order that they learn and fear the Lord, your God, and they will observe to do all the words of this Torah.

And their children who did not know ,will hear and learn to fear the Lord, your God, all the days that you live on the land, to which you are crossing the Jordan, to possess.

Fear before the Creator is what holds a person, especially during the forty-year journey through the desert. And in the land of Israel, the quality of fear moves to another level.

In the desert the fear was whether I would be able to refrain from using my egoism for my own sake, but in the land of Israel it is a completely different quality: whether I would be able to use my egoism for bestowal and love of others. An inversion in the use of egoism happens here.

Therefore, Moses warns the people; after all, this is not just very difficult to do, it is even hard to imagine how to do it. I cannot forbid myself to enjoy. Will I be able to allow myself to enjoy, and especially for the sake of the Creator? It is much easier to forbid.

Question: It is written, “Assemble the people: the men, the women, and the children, and your stranger in your cities.” What does that mean?

Answer: All of these are a person’s inner qualities. Let them listen to Moses’s warnings because each of them must undergo its own correction. Only after that can you enter the land of Israel and begin working with your desires “for the sake of bestowal.”

“And The Lord Appeared In A Pillar Of Cloud”

laitman_937Torah, Deuteronomy 31:14 – 31:15: And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, your days are approaching [for you] to die. Call Joshua and stand in the Tent of Meeting, and I will inspire him. So Moses and Joshua went, and stood in the Tent of Meeting. And the Lord appeared in the Tent, in a pillar of cloud. The pillar of cloud stood at the entrance to the Tent.

The appearance of the Creator in a pillar of cloud is the middle line, which Moses and Joshua attained and which the nation of Israel was approaching.

When Moses finished his work, they were all in a particular spiritual state. Nonetheless, it was all happening through Moses, but the active, working part was his lower level, Joshua, or in other words, the will to receive in order to bestow.

On one hand, Joshua was using his egoism; on the other hand, his work in egoism was higher in degree to that of Moses. That is how it happens: the lower you fall, the higher you can rise.

Question: What is “The pillar of cloud stood at the entrance to the Tent”?

Answer: There is such a thing as a pillar of fire and there is a pillar of cloud, depending on the kind of qualities, the kind of desires in which the Creator is revealed. Here, He is still being revealed only in that quality they were able to correct, in other words, in the pure quality of Bina of Moses. And that is why the pillar is a cloud.

The correction of Moses was complete: the forty-year journey through all our inner qualities were corrected to pure bestowal—the quality of Bina, the quality of faith, the quality of Hassadim (mercy).

And now what enters into action is the next correction, the next part: Joshua, who must receive in order to bestow, work with egoism more, and therefore reach higher levels. That is on one hand.

On the other hand, the purity of the work of Moses will always remain as a deposit, as something that is absolutely necessary. That is why after all the long millennia, he will still be waiting for the souls to again return to their corrected state and for him to be able to lead them further.

The Shattering Of Egoistic Desires

laitman_571.06Torah, Deuteronomy 29:06 – 29:07: And then you arrived at this place. And Sihon, the king of Heshbon, and Og, the king of Bashan, came out towards us in battle, and we smote them. And we took their land, and we gave it as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

Sihon, the king of Heshbon, and Og, the king of Bashan, represent the egoism in a person in its various manifestations.

The shattering of egoistic desires does not mean that you approach them and reveal them. You begin a battle with them. You need the Light of Hochma to break them and rise above them. Therefore, here you must act only with the Creator.

And it is quite possible that your previous foundations, that is, the Light that already exists in you will be enough to distinguish them and find contact with them.

“You Shall Not Cross This Jordan”

laitman_740.02Midrash Rabbah, Chapter “Vayelech”: The Celestial Voice revealed to Moses the day of his death, “You have only one day to live.” Hearing this, Moses went from the camp of Levites (where his tent stood) to the camp of Israelites to say goodbye to the Jews and calm them, because they were alarmed by his imminent demise.

Torah, Deuteronomy 31:01 – 31:02: And Moses went, and he spoke the following words to all Israel. He said to them, “Today I am one hundred and twenty years old. I can no longer go or come, and the Lord said to me, “You shall not cross this Jordan.”

In the spiritual world, there are 125 degrees of its attainment. Moses passed 120 of them. Therefore, it is said that he lived 120 years.

Moses is an example of the highest degree that a soul can attain until its final correction. After all, there are five more degrees left that will be corrected only after absolutely all the souls existing in our world are pulled to the degree of Moses. Then the very last degree will be completed—the last five parts.

It is written: “You have only one day to live.” This ends the personal correction of Moses; he cannot advance further. After this, there will be the correction of absolutely all of Israel and then of the entire world aspiring to the Creator. This will happen at the end of days.

Question: Moses says: “The Lord said to me, ‘You shall not cross this Jordan.’” Is there still some kind of bitterness in him?

Answer: Indeed, how can this be?! The rest can cross the Jordan and Moses cannot? He is above all others! And he was not honored with entering the land of Israel, and women, old people, and children were honored! Moses is the highest quality of the common organism called “the people.” Therefore, he must stay.

The rest must enter the land of Israel and work on themselves: to build the First Temple, go into exile, build the Second Temple, and go into exile again. They must spread their desires like sparks among all the nations, meaning the huge common desire that is made up of all the peoples. Therefore, they enter there.

Moses remains just beyond the Jordan because his qualities cannot be broken. They are waiting for the moment when all the nations of the world will gather and reach the level of 120th degree, and then, together with Moses, they will reach the 125th degree, which is the world of Infinity.

Thirteen Corrections of Dikna

laitman_256Question: What are the “thirteen corrections of Dikna”?

Answer: This is the Light that descends from the head of the soul into its body through thirteen channels. Anyone below who wants to receive this Light must make these corrections in order to connect to these channels as if to pipes that pour on him the upper Light of correction and fulfillment.

The streams pour down along both sides of the head of the soul to the body. That’s why religious Jews leave peyos (sidelocks) that they curl and maintain in a particular way. The Light descends from the upper part, which we do not attain. We attain only that which descends from it, and therefore, these two streams are called Peyos (peot or edge).

Further, the Light pours onto the chin along the sideburns and mustache. Under the nose, there is a particular point that is relatively free of hair. The beard is divided into upper and lower parts. The upper part goes to the chest, and the lower part to the navel. All of this is very clearly described in the original sources.

Naturally, our body is created in complete accordance with the flows of the streams of upper rays. But, we do not talk about the physical body in describing the upper Partzuf. I only mention this so that the students can remember a little material or somehow orient themselves.

If I speak about a correction such as the mustache or parts of the beard, I do not mean a part of a person’s face, but a quality. In other words, it is a particular spiritual force with a particular quality that is interacting with the upper Light. The Light is absolute, infinite, and amorphous. And this force separates from this infinite simple Light its specific content.

Question: Since we are talking about secretions, what are tears?

Answer: Tears are an overflow of Light that cannot be dressed in the Light of mercy (the Light of Hassadim). Therefore, it seems to be pouring over the edge.

The Land Of Israel: Both Life And Death

laitman_746.03Torah, Deuteronomy 30:17 – 30:18: But if your heart deviates and you do not listen, and you will be drawn astray, and you will prostrate yourself to other deities and serve them, I declare to you this day, that you will surely perish, and that you will not live long days on the land, to which you are crossing the Jordan, to come and take possession thereof.

Naturally, when entering the land of Israel, there are a lot of obstacles because it is at this point that you begin to arouse egoism, which needs to be directed toward the qualities of love and bestowal, meaning, to receive for the sake of the Giver. This is much more difficult than to not receive anything at all and to refuse to receive altogether.

This is very complex, internal, and deep work inside of oneself. If you cannot cope with it, then you will feel hell where you do not correct yourself. If you do correct yourself, on the other hand, you will feel paradise.

These are the two states that now appear before you and they both exist in the land of Israel. You enter and work with them. And there, in the land of Israel, you reach either a huge ascent or a huge descent. Both life and death are there for you.

Question: You keep saying that first humanity has to be educated. Does this mean that humanity should start trying to rise above the ego?

Answer: Of course, but not in the same way Kabbalists went through it or need to go through it. Humanity will pass through everything in a much easier way. Humanity must accept the ready-made method and simply go through these states, repeating them to some extent. This will not be scary for humanity since it will simply be included in something that was prepared beforehand.

And Kabbalists go through these states in order to prepare them for humanity. In other words, they have to experience all of this inside themselves and then offer it to the world as a finished product.

Question: Will new instructions be written for humanity or will they be the same?

Answer: No. These instructions are only for those individuals who have a point in the heart, those who are going to conquer the land of Israel directly.

They must experience all of the egoistic qualities inside themselves and rise above them. The point in the heart in a person is demonstrated by the fact that he aspires toward the fulfillment and realization first of the qualities of the desert, and then the qualities of the land of Israel, which were both created in him so that he could change them to be for the sake of love and bestowal, thereby achieving the revelation of the Creator, the quality of bestowal and love, in all his desires.

The Creator appears to us egoistically as the greatest gift. In fact, it is a gift that is revealed only in our efforts of love and bestowal toward our neighbor. Therefore, if we strive for the benefit of our neighbor in this way, inside this effort, we find the Creator.

If a person is thinking only about the commandments and is committed only to them, he does not need anything else; they are enough and all the other commandments are included in this one. In this case, all the other egoistic qualities of a person are corrected along the way.
