The World Is the Way We Are Capable of Seeing It

294.4We think that connection in the ten is the same as simple friendship like with former classmates or other long–time friends with whom it is easy and pleasant for us to be together.

But the ten is not the same at all. By connecting with friends in the ten we build a spiritual Kli. Through this, we attract the Creator, the good who does good, into our connection, and it is He who corrects our state.

Therefore, connection in the ten is not just a friendly connection, but the attraction of a higher spiritual force into our connection, the only force that can correct everything.

And if we want to change the picture of the world that appears before us today with its wars and sufferings in practice and get closer to the Creator, then we need to get closer to our friends, as it is said: “From love to friends to love of the Creator.”

And then, within our connection, the Creator will be revealed, and we will feel how the state of the world changes.

All states that we see around us are actually our personal, internal states. We do not see what is truly happening in the world, but we see only what we are capable of seeing in it.

And if we want to see that not only the power of judgment rules in the world, but love and mercy, we can do this through the power of our unity and prayer to the Creator. The power of judgment will completely disappear only at the very last stage of final correction. The main thing is to rise now from the feeling of this world, the lowest reality, and feel that the Creator is doing everything for our benefit to raise us higher and higher.

In the Same Direction

544Question: In “As Though Standing before a King“ (211), Baal HaSulam says that a person should be careful in all the material things that he receives so that they do not cancel out his Hisaron (spiritual need). How does the ten help a person in this?

Answer: Try, in your common desire for the Creator, to imagine that you are in front of Him, that you support each other, that you turn to Him together, and that you have no problems other than remaining in connection with Him. Be together with all your friends in the ten in the same direction so that the common aspiration for an even greater rapprochement with the Creator becomes constant.

You must try to see the Creator in front of you all the time and hold on to Him. If you constantly imagine that He is in front of you, then gradually you will succeed.

Therefore, a practical tool for your spiritual work is to imagine the power of the Creator before you. And when He answers you, i.e., draws you closer, you will begin to see the world differently.

249.01Question: Under the open governance of the Creator does a person always feel only mercy and goodness?

Answer: Yes, of course. How could it be otherwise? He feels the Creator, that is, only positive effects on himself.

Question: Why do we say in some cases that if there is a plea, the answer is ready immediately, and in other cases we wait for years, months, or days for answers?

Answer: It does not depend on us. We should just increase our plea. If this is a true request, we should focus on it and direct it to the Creator all the time.

Question: There is a great need for the Creator in our ten. We feel that we really miss Him. What else do we need to bring contentment to the Creator?

Answer: We lack a real sense of the need for the Creator to become one and, in this unity, to feel that the Creator is in us.

259.02Question: Do we fulfill the Torah out of darkness or out of a desire for light? What is the difference?

Answer: Try to create connections between all the elements of creation, and you will see how close you are to fulfilling them. That is when you will feel if you are in the light or the dark.

Question: How do we resolve the eternal conflict between the evil inclination and the need to work for the sake of the heavens?

Answer: To do this, we are given a ten, a group, in which we are and with which we can get out of our own egoism. Get more involved in each other and see how much strength you have to move forward.

Question: How can we come to the feeling of darkness if we lack Kelim of bestowal?

Answer: You should feel from your efforts what you lack and pray that you will have Kelim of bestowal.

Question: How can we receive strength and mind from the Creator only for the formation of the soul and not ask egoistically for ourselves?

Answer: Only by doing good for the group to unite them even more.

632.3Question: What does the correct perception of the outside world mean?

Answer: By the outside world, in this case, we mean the ten. To be connected with the outside world means to gather with all the friends of the ten in a circle and from within this circle, that is, in the connection between us, to appeal to the Creator.

Question: Is all that we feel as bitterness an action of bestowal, and all that we feel as sweetness reception?

Answer: Yes, in our uncorrected feelings it is so, for now.

Question: How do we come to the perfect prayer so that the Creator hears us as one person with one heart?

Answer: The Creator perfectly feels your states, your degrees, and your capabilities. Therefore, there is nothing to complain about Him, but only about yourself.

Question: As a rule, we turn to the Creator out of a state of despair. And if I am calm and reasonable, do I have a chance to be heard?

Answer: It does not depend on what state you are in, but on how much you need to turn to the Creator and what you turn to Him with. If you have such a need, then you will have a connection with the Creator.

Reveal the Creator’s Plan

231.01Question: When a Kabbalist comes out from under the influence of the whole world and merges with the Creator, what happens to him?

Answer: He begins to feel the governance of the Creator.

He ceases to perceive his own thoughts and feelings, begins to feel the thoughts and feelings of the ten, and to this extent comes closer to the Creator.

To feel the Creator’s thoughts in the ten means the revelation of His plan—what He really wants from us.

Question: In what form does He convey this to us? In the form of some kind of feeling or state?

Answer: In the form of our thoughts. And we feel that they come from Him.

528.02Question: How can we work on increasing hatred for the desire to receive when there is some fear of awakening hatred inside?

Answer: If you are connected to the ten, you can awaken this evil and not be afraid that it will charge at you like an angry dog. The main thing is to connect with your friends, and then you will succeed.

Question: We know that without love, there is no hate, and without hate there is no love. Can we use this law, or is it too early?

Answer: You have to love the love and hate the hatred, push away the feeling of hate and attract to yourself the feeling of love.

From the Feeling of Circular Connection

528.03Question: We tune in to the Creator through the light coming from Him. How do we feel the point where we should make a restriction on the desire to receive and start working for the sake of bestowing to the Creator?

Answer: We should always try to feel mutually connected in one circle, in the center of which we want to reveal the Creator. A circle is a ten. Everything that we have from our connection with each other, we want to pass on to the Creator.

Guarantee of Confidence in the Path

528.02Question: When thoughts about myself begin to overwhelm me, how can I not plunge into this baseness?

Answer: We must always hold on to the Creator and get closer to Him together with our friends. Only with the help of your friends can you hold on to Him. But this does not give any guarantee since only from descents do you approach a real ascent.

Therefore, you need to constantly strengthen the connection between each other. If there is a ten in which everyone thinks about everyone, nothing can lead you astray. Nothing. Even if you get ups and downs from above, no matter what, everything will be only for your benefit.

In the ten, every person is important, and if everyone succeeds in uniting with the rest, then this will be able to raise all friends higher and higher.

The Creator Is Behind Every Friend

938.01Question: What are the practical actions aimed at making an individual descent become the ascent of the whole ten?

Answer: It is necessary to combine personal descents with global descents and ascents. If I am able to turn to the Creator and ask Him to raise me from my personal descent to a higher degree, and He does this, then I am strengthened at this higher degree and begin to receive for the sake of the Creator.

Question: And if there is no sense of the Creator, but only a sense of friends?

Answer: Then, you have to continue working until you begin to feel the Creator. Start bestowing to your friends, influencing them, and then you will see that the Creator is hiding behind them.
