What Should A Student Give The Teacher?

laitman_528.04Question: What should a student give to the teacher?

Answer: A student should give the teacher his aspirations, which he will be able to raise upward and bring the student the strength to realize them.

Question: Does the teacher need this?

Answer: Why does he exist? It is only in order to help students. This is his purpose.

Question: Should the teacher evoke these aspirations in the students?

Answer: The teacher can only offer, but he cannot coerce or force. This is the work of the student himself. But the teacher is ready for it.

How Does The Teacher Fulfill A Student’s Desires?

laitman_528.04Question: How does the teacher fulfill desires of a student and vice versa?

Answer: The teacher absorbs the desires of a student as his constituent part, and thus by becoming included in him, performs all the necessary work in him, leaving to the student what he must complete with his freewill.

This is a very serious contact. The teacher is, as if, inside the student and “adjusts” all sorts of attitudes in him—this is what the upper must do based on his Galgalta and Eynaim. The student must complete his part of the work.

If you are connected with me and with each other, you will feel that we work together.

Question: Are there exams for a student of a Kabbalist?

Answer: There are no special exams because his entire path is a continuous, constant exam. There is no such thing that you pass a test and find yourself in the spiritual system. The exam takes place every second.

The Aspiration Of A Kabbalist Teacher

laitman_938.05Question: Does a Kabbalist with attainment have a desire for his students to also reveal his spiritual degree? Does he pull them up to his level? Or does he do that in order to ascend himself?

Answer: By teaching my students, I rise accordingly because I am disseminating this wisdom. And every potential small soul joining the common development connects to the general course of correction and affects everyone.

In other words, I affect the common soul of Adam by including you in it through me. Thus, I impact the whole universe.

Question: So, you are clearly interested in advancing?

Answer: I am obviously interested in all of you advancing. However, this interest is not selfish or egoistic because I personally want the whole system to reach adhesion with the Creator. There, the ego completely vanishes. Your question makes no sense because in Kabbalah the particular and the collective are completely equal.

What Should You Ask For When You Are Suffering?

laitman_245.08Question: What should one ask for when one experiences strong physical suffering and pain?

Answer: When you experience strong suffering and pain turn to the Creator with the question: “What is the reason for this suffering?”

The reason is egoism, the oppositeness to the Light. There is nothing else.

You can ask for your own correction in order to change pain to joy, health, and so on because the states of suffering push us away and distance us from the Creator.

The Ladder Of Attainment Is Constant

laitman_961.2Question: Which Kabbalists have you already gone through and do you feel them better? What is your personal experience on this path?

Answer: The fact is that all the Kabbalists have gone through very great steps of the ladder of spiritual ascent to full attainment to fully incorporate with each other.

I am not as high as they are, so I cannot say how many each of them has passed through.

I feel my teacher Rabash the most. The most important thing for me is to hold on to him constantly. I receive the upper Light from him. Any revelation, attainment, comes to me only through him.

Above Rabash on the spiritual hierarchy is his father Baal HaSulam, then Ramchal, Ari, and other Kabbalists. But in practice, I receive the Light from Rabash. The steps of the ladder of spiritual attainment are constant.

How Do I Get The Right Answers?

laitman_528.01Question: How do I ask the teacher correctly in order to receive correct answers?

Answer: You cannot because no question deserves an answer and should not be accompanied by it. One must ask everything from oneself or from the Creator.

On some issues you should consult with your friends in order to get the strength to move forward, from the teacher you get instructions, and from the Creator—the power of your development, correction, and movement.

Therefore, the more we study, the fewer answers you will receive from me.

Remark: We often try to ask questions not for ourselves, but for the beginners.

My Comment: I always feel what I have to do. Therefore, if a new student appears instead of you, I will answer him at his level, and you will still receive nothing from it.

How Does A Kabbalist Answer Questions?

laitman_231.03Question: When a Kabbalist explains something, does he relive those states? Or does it sometimes happen just theoretically?

Answer: As a rule, a Kabbalist speaks about what he has already attained. Or, from what he has already attained, he can partially answer the question that touches a higher degree than he is at, but by analogy, he can also somewhat explain it.

Question: Does he relive it all in feelings?

Answer: Of course. When he is asked a question that has to do with the spiritual work, he immediately enters that state. He is raising the MAN of another person and he must answer him.

Suppose you ask me a question, I perceive your desire, MAN, demand, and raise it to the source instead of you in order to fill it and bring it down to you.

Question: What if I ask why a person is born with one head and not three?

Answer: It is because this is the consequence of a spiritual Partzuf.

Question: But for this, it is not necessary to feel it in your senses?

Answer: No. This is a complete structure that lives in me. For this, I do not need to rise and make any inner efforts. So, I just answer.

Baal HaSulam

Dr. Michael LaitmanFrom My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 9/20/18

“I find a great need to break an iron wall that has been separating us from the wisdom of Kabbalah,” wrote Kabbalist Yehuda Ashlag a.k.a. Baal HaSulam (“Master of the Ladder”) for his Ladder commentary on The Book of Zohar.

Today, on the 64th anniversary of his demise, we pay our respects to one of the greatest Kabbalists in the history of mankind. A unique soul that descended to our world to bring us the wisdom of Kabbalah, and bring us closer to a life filled with joy, peace and unity.

Indeed, he was the first to interpret the entire Zohar and the writings of the Ari, the first to adapt the ancient wisdom to every person, the first to publish a Kabbalistic newspaper (The Nation) and spread it publicly. His deep concern for the fate of humanity pulsated in his heart, a concern that dictated the entire course of his life.

The Human Prerogative

laitman_278.01Question: What does the upper providence manage? What remains in the person’s power and freedom, which is not subject to management from above?

Answer: Everything except our freedom of will is the Creator’s prerogative.

Freewill means to determine at every minute what else I can add to get closer to other people.

Our task is to connect all the elements of the spiritual scheme together into a single system. I thus have to determine whether I can do this with greater success at every given moment. In essence, this is my job, and I cannot escape it. However, the question is, did I put my efforts into it or will the upper world, the Creator, force me to do it?

It is between these two possibilities that my freedom of will lies: either I myself rush forward to connect with everyone, or I will be forced from above. Therefore, freedom of will, as Baal HaSulam writes in the article of the same name, is to get involved in the environment, to receive the corresponding desires, aspirations, and goals from it, and to realize them.

laitman_250Question: What element conveys spiritual information to a Kabbalist, like a quantum in physics?

Answer: A spiritual information unit is called a Reshimo (reminiscence) or information indicator. It tells us about the level of egoism with which we are working: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4.

Question: Why can a Kabbalist see the spiritual future and potential of the student’s soul, but doesn’t know the earthly speed with which the student will realize it?

Answer: A teacher sees the potential of the student, the size of his soul, but he doesn’t know how he will realize it because this is where the student has freedom of choice.

Question: Do the connections between actions through cause and effect explain the consequences of events in the life of a person?

Answer: No. I can do very good deeds and yet suffer. This is in no way connected to that.

Question: How is it possible to learn to observe oneself?

Answer: Observe your friends and feel your reaction regarding them. This is called “observing oneself.”

Question: It is said, “He who holds back his rod hates his son” (Proverbs 13:24). How do you punish your students? In what way is this expressed?

Answer: I don’t punish them; they punish me. In a case like this, a person punishes himself. I try to give all that I can, and accordingly they take what they are capable of taking.

Question: How can a student know that he is advancing correctly? Is there some kind of indicator?

Answer: It is only in relation to the assessment of the teacher and the friends, how much more he understands what they need.

Question: What is good and bad in spiritual relationships? Or are there no concepts like these?

Answer: When you work for others, this is good. When you work for yourself because of compulsion, this is bad.

Question: Can the wisdom of Kabbalah harm creativity?

Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah is creativity itself. If a person is captivated by it, then corporeal pursuits can certainly be harmed as a result of this.
