A Spiritual Cell

506.2Question: Are there any restrictions in mixing the souls, i.e., in spiritual mixture? We often talk about mutual integration when one person accepts the desires of the other. But on the corporeal level, everything is kind of determined: here I am, here are my wife and children.

Answer: This comes from the fact that the husband, wife, and their children are one spiritual cell. It is just that in our world it was divided into a male part and a female part, but in the spiritual world it is one Partzuf, Aviut (thickness), and Zakut (purity, subtlety), desire, and Masach (screen), which work together.

Therefore, in spirituality, there are no separately existing female and male parts. Their joint work generates the next state called children.

Therefore, in our world, we are arranged in such a way that we are grouped into families. In the spiritual state, there can be no confusion with husbands and wives, and everyone will find their other half.

How Can I Become a Favorite of the Creator?

293.1Question: Does the Creator have favorites?

Answer: Yes, despite the fact that He is great, omnipotent, and objective, the sources say that in different centuries, at different times, He had favorites.

Question: How can one become a favorite of the Creator?

Answer: Try to be closer to Him. Do what He wants from you, and then He will pay attention to you. That is, you will begin to awaken a connection between you and Him. Gradually, with your constant positive influence, you will be able to create such a system of connection that you will influence Him, and He will influence you.

What Is the Effect of the Light

138Question: What is the structure of light like? What is its effect, even if we do not make an analogy of our world?

Answer: This is the light of thought, comprehension, illumination, disclosure, and wisdom. New capacities in the senses and in the mind open up in you, and you suddenly begin to expand. It is as if you have awakened and are still half–asleep, drooping, drinking a cup of coffee, and suddenly you begin to open up from the inside in feelings and mind; everything begins to awaken—this is the feeling of the impact of light.

You feel new layers of the world, the depths of people, and you feel how everything is moving.

Question: Why is this sensation called light?

Answer: The light of comprehension, insight, sensation, and reason is the way of the world.

Light is the foundation of the world, foundation of life, and the foundation of nature. It is not necessarily visible light. These are the waves that carry information and fill us.

Question: Does this spiritual light still affect the material world?

Answer: Yes, it also acts on the material world, and it forms and holds it. But this is its very small and backward part that is necessary only for us to exist in the illusion of our world and gradually come out of it.

Choosing a Name for a Child

559Question: Does the choice of a person’s name play any role? Where does a name come from?

Answer: Yes and no. The fact is that the name of a person is supposedly given by accident by his parents. Why the parents had a desire to give him or her a particular name seems to be their business.

In fact, the name speaks of the inner essence of a person. There is nothing random in the world because everything is absolutely predetermined! But we do not know that.

What if your name is so-and-so and my name is so-and-so? Our parents wanted to name us that, based on the circumstances, i.e., on the advice of relatives, or a young mother read a novel and wanted to name the child by the name of its character.

Let’s say the name Madonna or Diana is popular today. At one time, the name Angela was popular, and so on. It does not matter. The popularity of names does not matter. It is predetermined anyway. Therefore, any hint of anything contains an internal source.

Do you think you can guess the qualities or fate of a person by their name? This is unavailable to us unless you are Wolf Messing. It was enough for him to look at a person, and he immediately saw both his name and his fate. It is written down in nature but not for our use.

“Can a dream predict something?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Can a dream predict something?

Dreams are when our brain assorts impressions from our experiences that need a certain sensory and mental rearrangement.

I understand that many people delve into interpreting dreams, and use them to predict the future, but I personally hold no such beliefs.

I never deal with dreams. It was the same with my teacher, Kabbalist Baruch Ashlag (Rabash). When I asked him about dreams, he said that the wisdom of Kabbalah, which is what I learned from him, has nothing to do with dreams or their explanation.

That being said, there was a time when one of my fellow students visited a fortune teller who stated that she no longer saw our teacher, Rabash, beyond 1994. And it indeed turned out to be the case.

We also asked Rabash about it, and he said that he did not want to take it into account. That is, the correct approach of a person walking the spiritual path is not to consider such phenomena.

What Is the Body Created For?

608.01Question: There is a certain group of people to whom you can play the balalaika, and they feel it like a slap, and some other more “delicious” things they do not feel at all. Is it good when there is such a mass?

Answer: Of course it is good. The mass should not be different. Mass is the flesh in the body, let’s say bones, tendons, and muscle. It occupies 99% of the body. What does it exist for? It would be better if there were one head or not even a head, but a small microprocessor. That would be a person. Why do we need everything else at all?!

If we pull out a microprocessor from everyone, connect them together, or, let’s say, throw them into some kind of jar and they connect to each other, we will get some kind of common consciousness. And everything else, what do we need it for?! Let’s destroy it, throw it away, let it rot. Would that be better? No.

You see that we were created specifically in a world where around our thoughts, not even around a small corporeal ball, but around our thoughts, feelings, and desires that are not corporeal, there is a huge hundred-kilogram body that needs to be fed, moved, and serviced.

Why? For what? Because it is in this way, at these levels, that we must begin to correct desires. Precisely being at such a point outside of spirituality, in an animalistic desire, that we look at our spiritual part as if from the outside inward and can correct it. If I did not have an animalistic body, I would not be able to correct my soul because then I would be in it. In this way, however, I am outside of it and create and build it.

Question: When this mass of people comes to correction, does it perceive the common consciousness, this common thought, in the same way as the part that is a small ball?

Answer: They will perceive it the same way we do. Everyone will achieve the same awareness and sensation. It will be absolutely the same for everyone.

Comment: But at this stage there is a big difference between Kabbalists and the masses.

My Response: The difference is that they are calmer. “He who increases knowledge, increases pain.”

Question: Does it mean that if everyone possessed spiritual knowledge, they would feel great sorrow?

Answer: Of course. Therefore, the dissemination of spiritual knowledge in our world is so important in order for a person to feel the world more acutely and begin to do something with this world.

Listening to Kabbalists

265Question: What measure of unity should people achieve? After all there are Kabbalists who study Kabbalah, and there are those not interested in it. How can they unite?

Answer: Listen to Kabbalists. Try to see with your mind that there is nothing else in the world.

If nature’s net gradually descends upon us, leading to a format where we must be completely united, integrally connected, in full interaction with each other like cogwheels in a mechanism, we need to learn to understand each other and rotate together harmoniously. You have to bring all your thoughts and desires in sync with me and with one more, and one more, etc.

There is nothing you can do. This is inherent in nature. This program is what it is, and it is being implemented. How you play your part, however, depends on you.

If you are a smart child, you will learn, seek, and try to be taught. Then you will realize that Kabbalists have something to offer you. You will feel they have some idea and will learn from them.

But if you don’t want to, you will be forced anyway; that is, you will get a good beating, maybe several deaths or even worse, torment, and then will be given the same opportunity. But you will already be wiser because suffering develops our minds.

Desire is our matter, and the mind develops to achieve the filling of this matter. The more matter feels suffering and emptiness, the more the mind develops to avoid this suffering and somehow be filled.

Therefore, one who has suffered is worth two who have not. That is all. If you beat him, he’ll get smarter: “I had enough, I’m ready now.” Because then your eyes open, your ears open.

But how to start hearing without suffering? Join a group and get the importance of correction from others. Then, instead of suffering, you will be more sensitive and advance in a more reasonable, kinder way. This is the purpose of creating a group.

Unified By Love Or Hate

“What makes you hate people’s ego?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What makes you hate people’s ego?

A major problem with today’s world is that everyone blames everyone else.

If we, however, view ourselves as living in a completely interconnected and interdependent system, then everyone in that system is to blame: no one is right or wrong. If there is evil in the world, it is an outcome of every one of us.

Imagine that we are all cogwheels of the same machine. No single cogwheel can escape reward and punishment, because they are all connected to each other and mutually dependent. In such a setup, we cannot say that someone must turn or force others to turn because of others, but all move simultaneously. As such, we each need to undergo a certain correction and calibration of the way we conduct ourselves: to reach a mutual decision to stop turning in opposite directions and to start turning in the same direction, where we each primarily consider the benefit of others and the whole system that we are parts of.

Everyone is thus accountable for the way the world has turned out. There are no criminals or victims. We are all equally responsible for everything taking place, good and bad. We reach such an understanding when we see that we live in an integral world, which is represented by a circle that has no beginning or end. We thus have no single person we can point our finger at to blame for our problems. We each contribute to everything unfolding in humanity.

We have to reach the view of nature as a whole, interconnected and interdependent system, and to treat everyone differently than how we currently treat them: where instead of prioritizing self-benefit at their expense, we instead prioritize their benefit over self-benefit.

There is thus no ego of another person that we can justifiably hate but we need to reach the realization that I am the only criminal in the world. From that point on, I can start correcting my own ego and start developing a new attitude and perception of the world. I will then also start seeing a whole new harmonious and peaceful picture of the world open up.

Where Does Nobility Come from in Us?

571.03Question: The nature of man is egoism. But when I read the facts of the deaths on the Titanic, it struck me that the orchestra remained playing until the end. The Titanic was sinking, some people and women and children were put into boats, some people stayed onboard, some panicked, and all the while the orchestra played, played, and played to the end, and sank together with the Titanic.

Among other things, there was some billionaire who could have bought 30 of these Titanics, but he stayed on the ship and said, “Until the women and children are all saved, I cannot leave the Titanic.” Couples remained. Women were saved first, but some of them stayed with their husbands to end their lives together as they lived together.

Where does this nobility come from in a person? I am particularly struck by the orchestra that stayed to play. They could have been saved, so they say. Where does this power come from?

Answer: This may be because they all played together and supported each other with this.

As for women and men, it is natural that men in such cases suddenly feel the obligation to save women, children and women. And this can manifest itself everywhere and in everything.

Question: So, the fact that the four musicians stood together supporting each other and playing to the end, was it this force that held them?

Answer: It did. Because they connected in this place, therefore it held them.

Question: You have said more than once that we must look for this force together all the time, constantly, we, each individual, and the world. In this case, can any states be bypassed, so to say?

Answer: Yes, in this case we will not drown.

Question: What is in this force?

Answer: The fact that everyone holds the other. And what appears between them is already a special power of the Creator.

Question: Where does the fear go at this moment?

Answer: They do not feel themselves, they feel others, and therefore there is no fear.

Question: So when my concern is not for myself, but for another, then the fear goes away?

Answer: Yes, the nature of fear is solely self-care. And when a person thinks about others, he is not afraid for himself. He switches to care for life and the fate of another, and this is the most important thing for him. He is, in a way, getting out of himself.

And the nature of the panic that was around, on the contrary, closes in on itself.

Question: Is it possible to give some advice here? At such a moment, in a time of fear and internal panic, of which there are many now, how can you suddenly escape to a different level of life?

Answer: To do this, we need to strive to connect with each other, to be together. And then we will begin to feel like a common part of something common, higher. We will feel good and at ease.

Question: I want to ask you as a Kabbalist, you talk all the time about the connection between people, about a good connection, and at the same time you talk all the time about the connection with the Creator. If I make this connection with the Creator, what happens to me, to fear, to everything in general?

Answer: It just disappears.

Question: What does fear turn into?

Answer: It is not there, it evaporates because the connection with the Creator is above the animal level of our existence. And that is why we should strive for it.

Question: How do I reach this connection? The connection of a person with another can be imagined somehow, but how can a person connect with the Creator?

Answer: “Love thy neighbor as thyself.”

Comment: But it is a neighbor like yourself.

My Response: A neighbor is another like yourself.

Question: Where is the Creator here?

Answer: It is in this union that the Creator will be felt. It is felt precisely between you and the other. If you strive to feel the other as yourself, then instead of yourself and the other, you feel the Creator who actually fills everything, and there is none else besides Him.

Question: What kind of feeling is this?

Answer: This is the feeling of getting outside of oneself into another dimension, into another space. This is what gives a person a sense of a new existence.

We must strive for this.

Question: These four musicians who were together, did they have at least a little sense of the Creator between them at that moment?

Answer: I do not think they really had a sense of the Creator, but quite possibly they experienced the feeling of eternal perfection, elevation above animal life.

Question: So the music they played, was it in them all the time?

Answer: Yes, they were in it.

We Need to Submit to the Creator

13.03Comment: We had a story about an elderly woman whose husband died. They lived a whole life together in perfect harmony. She asked how to accept it because she could not time believe he was no longer there.

And you said practically one word that there should be submission. We were flooded with questions. A huge number of people are living after losing their loved ones. Their main question is: how to surrender?

Answer: Bow your head before the Creator. He does everything, everything depends on Him, all good deeds and all bad. There is no one besides Him. Bow your head and accept it.

Question: How can I, a person who has never communicated with the Creator, never thought about it, imagine that?

Answer: No, you are with Him all the time! He is in you, and you are in Him. And you are connected to each other your whole life and all your lives. So, there is no need to imagine yourself as remote or rejected. But we must bow down, surrender to His will, and then still take a step toward Him in order to justify Him. This is what we must do.

Comment: It is beautiful, of course, but it is so difficult.

Answer: It is not easy.

Question: And you put all this into the word “submission”?

Answer: Yes. I think that is the right word. Because a person rejoices when he finds this word. When he has someone to bow down to, agree to, without needing justification. This very feeling of submission to the force of the universe covers everything.
