If I have such an attitude toward others and I feel that others have the same attitude toward me, this mutual good network of forces between us, I feel it, I live in it. That is my work, I exist in it and so do all the others.

We only develop these mutual sensations of ours, without any effort. It should be without effort! This is how I treat others and others treat me, and everything freezes. And only that is the only feeling you perceive.

Question: And when you say: overcome our egoism, rise above egoism?

Answer: It is all inside. Just calm down.

Question: And it will be so calm? I always have the feeling that a person must make enormous efforts.

Answer: No, no, nothing! Quite the opposite. Why? If we relate to it correctly, then the upper light, which is in absolute rest, it will do everything. Just don’t worry. Just don’t interfere. “The Creator will finish it for me.” It is that simple.

Comment: After surveying 1.7 million people across 164 countries, American psychologists determined how much money a person needs to feel happy. It turns out that there is a threshold of income beyond which the feeling of happiness starts to decline.

The ideal income for an individual is, on average, $60,000 to $75,000 per year. “Now we understand,” the researchers say, “that happiness has a limit.”

My Response: In reality, they are talking about the limit of happiness that money can buy. But happiness itself has no limit. One simply needs to properly balance “appetite” and “food” when there is happiness but just a little bit is missing. Then everything falls into place.

As for money, it is a tool to achieve goals in our material world. For a spiritual goal in the upper world, a different kind of money is needed. There money turns into a means of elevation, a means of bestowal. That is the true feeling of life.

A wealthy person in spirituality is the one who constantly has the opportunity to fill others to the extent of his connection with the Creator.

There are many adults in our world who enjoy watching fairy tales even though they know they are just fairy tales.

Question: Why is that? To escape reality?

Answer: It is more real than our life, actually.

Question: Fairy tales are more real than our life? But what is the reality in a fairy tale?

Answer: That justice is rewarded, loyalty is rewarded.

Question: Is that really so?

Answer: It is, but all this has to go through many twists and turns, through all sorts of corners and labyrinths of our egoism.

Question: So do fairy tales actually tell about what will truly happen?

Answer: Of course.

Question: Will good triumph over evil?

Answer: Definitely. Otherwise, nothing would have begun.

Question: Are fairy tales precisely the ones that end well?

Answer: They all must have a good ending because it is predetermined from the very beginning.

Question: And fairy tales with a bad ending, what about them?

Answer: There is no such thing. That means they are unfinished.

Question: Are they something the author did not finish, did not have time?

Answer: Yes, something remains unsaid.

Comment: So a fairy tale is written…

My Response: From the end. But the good ending must contain the whole structure: the setup, the development, the climax, in short, everything, and necessarily a good ending. It is all conceived from the start.

My conclusion is this: a fairy tale should begin with an introduction. Then there must be some demonstrative process—educational, accusatory, and so on. The characters should fall apart and be dissatisfied with what’s happening: this one wanted to kill and could not, that one wanted to escape and did not manage, these two wanted to marry and it did not work, and so on.

That is, within the whole setup, they cannot figure out who is writing this fairy tale. The Creator! When they gradually despair of their own solutions, each in their own way, and do not know what to do, then they begin to understand that they are under the control of the upper governance, and only then do things start working, coming together. It turns out that this upper governance, this upper force, brings them to the right solution.

Comment: To a good ending. And good triumphs.

My Response: Yes.

Question: Were you actually talking about our time now?

Answer: It is precisely in our time that this upper force begins to reveal itself in various states, when humanity has no other answer to its questions but to say: this is the upper force.

Comment: This not-so-kind fairy tale which humanity sees, starts to shift…

Question: The holiday of Passover tells about the way the Jewish people came out of Egyptian slavery. In fact, for Kabbalists, it sounds different. There is our egoism, our nature, and we talk about how we come out of this egoism.

But it is necessary to feel that! If we begin to look closely at our egoistic nature, at how we treat each other, then we can conclude that our whole world is evil because we are such egoists, because we wish evil to each other, and we are in opposition, in contradiction, in internal and external confrontation with each other. We are slaves of this egoistic force that guides us, twists us, and pushes us.

To recognize the evil of our nature is the most important thing. Because after that we can already come to an understanding of how to get rid of it.

Question: If we assume that a person begins to feel this, what will his thoughts be? How can one get rid of this? Except for the inner cry: “I want to get rid of it! I do not want to be an egoist!”—what else do we need?

Answer: Nothing! Only to demand from nature that it change us. Nothing else. We do not have to make any extra effort because there is really nothing we can do. If we are inside egoism, then any of our attempts and actions will still be egoistic, and we will only deceive ourselves with them.

What we can do, however, is to gather, discuss our state, conclude that it is simply terrible, and that there is no way for us to get rid of it ourselves unless we just convince our nature to leave us alone, that we do not want to be under the control of egoism. Take away from us this alien will, this upper force, so that it does not command each of us and does not push us against each other!

Question: Will a person then have a feeling that he is under the control of the Pharaoh?

Answer: Yes, that he is a slave to the evil force of nature. Then he will begin to understand this story correctly. He will begin to treat it correctly, that in fact, this evil nature was created in such a way on purpose. By whom? By a positive force, the Creator, so that we turn to Him personally, so that He removes this evil nature from us.

If we convince the Creator to remove this evil egoistic force that pushes us against each other and does not give us peace, then this will become a truly worldwide holiday in which everyone is interconnected, in which everyone begins to treat each other correctly—with love, with knowledge, and with the understanding that we are one, a single system.

Question: What is “the people’s exit out of slavery”? Are people the whole world?

Answer: Absolutely the whole world.

Question: What about the leader who leads them? The Torah says Moshe or Moses—what is it?

Answer: This is from the word “Moshech,” pulling. It is the force that pulls people out of their egoism.

This force comes from above. The force of recognition of the evil in which we were, and the good in which we can be.

Question: Do you think that humanity should reach out to this force?

Answer: Everyone should feel from within himself that he is shouting, that he wants this. We need nothing else. There is no need to follow any people, leaders, redeemers, messiahs, and so on. We do not need anything else.

Question: What is freedom then? After all, this is a holiday of freedom.

Answer: Freedom from egoism, freedom from the fact that you are under the influence of evil all the time and it is your inner evil that pushes you to be evil to others. All this is the holiday of redemption. This is the holiday of spring.

Only egoism is the cause of our suffering. There is nothing else. There are only two forces in the world: positive and negative.

Question: Then why do we not just concentrate on this point?

Answer: We do not want to, we resist with all our might just not to get close to it because we are all egoists. Only in egoism do I feel myself and the whole world. I cannot imagine how to feel the world outside of this quality.

Question: Today a lot of people don’t believe it is worth helping others anymore. People say that if you help someone and get them out of trouble, they become your worst enemy. Many feel completely drained after helping someone.

Do you think maybe we shouldn’t help anyone at all? Should we just let them make their own choices? If someone asked you this question, what would you say?

Answer: If you want to help someone, you must be ready to give. That means it is only going from you toward the other person—man, woman, child, animal, it does not matter who—but you help without expecting anything in return: kind treatment, gifts, or gratitude.

Comment: Not even a “thank you.”

My Response: Yes, exactly. Nothing! Only then is it truly help from your side.

Comment: That is very lofty to not expect even a thank you.

My Response: One word, “thank you,” can be worth billions. It does not matter what it is. Imagine a baby smiling at its mother, what a reward and expression of gratitude that is for her! So it all depends on whether you expect something in return.

Question: But is it possible to raise oneself to the point of not expecting anything in return? Is that even possible?

Answer: That is what true giving is.

Comment: That is beautiful! And at the same time, it feels impossible.

My Response: Otherwise, you are doing everything for the sake of gratitude.

Answer: Correct. Check how much of your help is actually selfless, what percentage and how much of it is given because you still hope to receive something in return—gratitude, a reaction.

Question: Why do we feel so drained after helping someone, like our heart has been broken?

Answer: It is precisely because you expected to get something in return. And if there is no feedback, no return energy, you feel an empty black hole.

My Response: That is just our nature. What can we do? So prepare yourselves to perform truly altruistic acts.

Question: What exercises can we do to tune ourselves to this?

Answer: Only outward—not back to yourself, only toward the other. You need to have the energy and the desire for this. And you certainly do not have that energy or desire yet.

So you must train to be able to do this, no matter to whom. If it matters to whom, this person or that, then that is already your reward.

Question: When will the Third Temple be built? After all, the first and second temples were built. There was some movement toward love for one’s neighbor. So why was the 9^th of Av necessary, and why were these temples destroyed?

Answer: It was so that we would begin to correct them. The construction came from above. We were given a force that somehow united us.

Question: So were the two temples built from above?

Answer: Of course! The force comes from above, it does not come from us.

But for the Third Temple we must become aware of how much we need it and demand it ourselves, from below.

Question: Will the Third Temple be built by the whole world?

We are a system of absolute interconnection. Parents, children, grandparents, and so on are all equal components of the one, unified system.

Question: How should I relate to children?

Answer: Children are not really “children,” they are actually adults who simply perceive the world in a more limited way. But to the extent that they do perceive it, they must engage with it intelligently. You should explain this to them, and treat them that way, and they will understand this.

Question: So I shouldn’t baby them, but treat children like adults?

Answer: Of course, the way you relate to children and your family is how you correct yourself and your soul.

Question: What about how I relate to my wife or a wife to her husband?

Answer: It is exactly the same as to yourself! The most important thing is to support each other in your mutual efforts, in understanding what is happening with you.

Question: What does it mean to make concessions to another so as not to crush them but to concede? What is it?

Answer: It means that I annul myself.

Answer: Yes, simply annul yourself.

Question: They say that everything depends on the intention. We see actions, and they can be the most benevolent, but intentions are not visible. If we could see a person’s intentions, what would we see?

Question: I look at the world and there are already eight billion of us. And I assure you that very few people can say that they are the ones who need to be educated. Eventually I realize this is all one system, one person called “Adam,” and this Adam is me. Because that is how I put it together with my actions, behavior, thoughts, and all sorts of corrections.

Question: Do I absorb the world into me and become this one soul, as we say, Adam?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Is this true?

Answer: It is true.

Question: And is what we see a lie?

Answer: No, we also see the truth, but it is a partial truth, torn apart by our inner egoism.

Question: Otherwise we do not pass it through our ego? Are we looking not through egoism?

Answer: Right. If I put them all together in one single image, then it is me.

Question: How can I focus on it like this?
