The science of Kabbalah reveals the possibility of expanding one’s senses and awareness into an area opposite to the material one, to a new level, into a new dimension. Therefore, I completely surrendered to it, but with strict control over myself.

Kabbalah gives us great opportunities because you must constantly move against your egoism. Do you want to move? That is egoism for you. Try to use it to see how right or wrong it is, whether you need it or not, and how much you are just busying yourself with it. Some other properties, desires, and values in you push you toward this.

And we start working against your ego! We make any comprehension, any movement, not because you are carried forward, but on the contrary, with difficulty, with a tremendous force of opposition.

A scientist is driven forward by egoism, which pushes him to research. But here, it is the other way around. Therefore, there is a considerable opportunity for self-control and analysis: “Am I doing this right or not? For what? Why? Do I need this at all?!”

Question: A scientist is drawn in by egoism, but a Kabbalist is repulsed from his work. What makes a Kabbalist do this?

Answer: It is the importance of understanding the meaning of creation, comprehending the Creator, but not from a scientific point of view like a scientist, even though it is also importance for a scientist.

In principle, all scientists want to grasp the Creator. Subconsciously, any person in our world who lives only to feed himself still has the thought: “I want to understand the Creator,” otherwise he would not exist. Every atom and every molecule exist only for this purpose because in the end everything will come together in this comprehension.

But unlike scientists, you go against your desires and properties. And it is precisely because of this that you have a vast opportunity for self-control.

Therefore, I do not study anything extraneous because I very clearly see, precisely from the analysis of what other sciences do, how much this is work within egoism, and therefore, does not rise above our world, no matter how scientists think they are above it.

Question: Can we say that at some point in history humanity took the wrong path?

Answer: Of course! Since the time of Aristotle and Plato.

At one point they shouted: “Under no circumstances give science away to the ignorant! They will misuse it, they will sell it to the rich, they will put it at the service of progress!

But we need spiritual progress, not technological progress! We cannot open universities to everyone!

Science should be pursued only by people who with its help want to understand the meaning of life, the lofty matters that lie beyond the boundaries of our world!”

Science should develop only in the form in which it raises a person above our world! Anyone who might use it for evil purposes has no right to engage in it!

Even the invention of, say, a special meat grinder is also evil. You do not need it, and you can live without it! After all, in the end, it is by adapting science to our world that you begin its development.

There is no other way, either external development or internal. The world followed the external path of development. Historically, this happened 3,000 years ago.

Question: But was there another option for development? Or did we still have to go through this stage?

Answer: It is hard to say because in order to understand the answer to this question, you need to be in two worlds, in the duality that we are talking about.

Everything comes from the Creator, and at the same time depends on our freewill, on our choice.

We are not able to compare these two free functions; our mind is not adapted to this. To understand this, you need to be in both worlds: the spiritual one and ours at the same time. Then you will not have contradictions; you can perceive absolutely opposite facts and information as complementary and not mutually exclusive.

Question: For thousands of years all religions have been saying that there is no knowledge, there is only faith. Many of us came to Kabbalah to comprehend the Creator, that is, to gain knowledge. It seems there is some contradiction here.

Should we have both knowledge and faith or is faith only above knowledge?

Answer: The point is that the faith we practice in the wisdom of Kabbalah is not an ordinary faith, but faith in the fact that the Creator is the upper force of nature.

It is precisely Him that we attain in our mind and feelings by becoming like Him in the measure of bestowal. In this way, we begin to understand the Creator and the world He created.

Question: At one time, while giving lectures, you mentioned the New Age movement but stopped doing it. Why?

Answer: I do not remember why I touched upon that movement. I have always taught pure Kabbalah based on the sources of Baal HaSulam. All the years of my life after the age of 30, I have been doing only this and do not hide that I do not know all the other sources well.

I do not engage in comparative analysis between Kabbalah and, say, Sufism, religions, or philosophies. Not at all! I am a specialist specifically in the field of Kabbalistic methodology.

And every time, I am convinced of how pure, strict, and sharply directed toward the goal of creation it is and how much it is the goal of our evolution. That is why I have no desire to be engaged in anything else! I am not interested in any New Age! There is no need to talk about that at all.

I am not interested in anything other than a deep internal understanding of the upper world through the methodology of Kabbalah because I see how it works.

It takes a person many years to study it, but it fully, tangibly introduces him to a new world that reveals itself to him in his attainment, sensation, in all his states, past, and future. He understands, feels, and comprehends everything within himself!

When you see this, you recognize it when it forms in you and no longer have any questions about other methods that people have invented. You remain only with this.

Comment: When you explain something, everyone understands you in their own way. That is, everyone’s filter refracts your energy in its own way. It reaches a certain part of the layer of desires that stand behind every person, be it a musician, or an artist, or a machine operator.

My Response: Yes, each of them understands in the way that is best for him. People are still grouped according to some characteristics. They are all different, but in principle each of them is special.

If you treat them with increased sensitivity for research, you will see that none of them is like the others.

Not with anything! They have such a specific internal combinatorics between all desires, properties, thoughts, and initial data, especially after they developed in different societies under the influence of different environments, that it is simply incredible to compare them with each other.

Question: But with all our characteristics, even if we are close to each other, how can we overcome this threshold of differences?

Answer: Unite not by common properties, since they practically do not exist, but with a common goal and complement of each other’s properties. That is, it does not matter to me who you are. It is important to me that you and I have the same goal and the same path to it.

Question: It happens that people gather based on some common characteristics: some like this, others like that. But internally they are completely different. Is it good when people group according to similar inclinations?

Answer: It is not us who are grouping, but it is happening from above. The Creator, the upper force, groups us because in this way we can complement each other.

Question: What is good and evil? Everyone talks about goodness, friendship, and unity. And you say the same things, but how can you tell the difference?

Answer: I speak about these categories only as means that help one discover one’s faulty state, come to a corrected state, and achieve complete unity with nature.

I am not against what others say, and in no way am I trying to check them, compare them, or engage in some kind of comparative analysis. For what?

If they talk about good, great. But for what is this good? How correct is this, how real is it? There are so many opportunities in the world to do something good. Is this really good or not?

Who checks, who feels, who measures? Are they the same egoists as you? They can tell you what is good based on their egoistic qualities. And so can you. So you will understand each other perfectly. But in fact?

Therefore, there must be the emergence of some standard of good that is independent of us. If it does not exist, then thousands of beliefs, religions, philosophies, and opinions arise, and each one is right. Then you cannot do anything until some dimension is achieved.

All techniques and technologies start with some measure: meter, kilogram, and so on. Without this, people would not understand each other and could not do anything.

But in our feelings, there are no such measurements, so everyone is right.

You can talk to anyone, from Nazis to pacifists, from anarchists to communists, and they can convince you of anything. In our development, we have already gone through all possible options, except the very last ones. After all, there was once cannibalism, but it can still repeat itself in our “bright” future. And we always felt that yes, this is true or this has a place.

Answer: Because we work on different frequencies. Definitions I exist in, you do not. There is no need to talk about it, complain, or suffer from it.

At your level, you will not understand me like a child and his parents. So what? The child will grow up and understand. He should try to grasp what they are showing him according to his level. And that is enough!

There is nothing you can do. I do not suffer because many people do not understand what I want to convey. Everyone has their own goal and guiding light; therefore, everyone will grasp it in due time. I teach and give general education. Later, each person seeks and develops himself further based on the characteristics of his soul.

Question: Did Kabbalists like Baal HaSulam and Rabash seek to spread Kabbalah to the world to reduce the pressure on it?

Answer: No, not for that reason. Kabbalists seek to present Kabbalah to the world so that it quickly comes to adhesion with the Creator in a good way because that is the best state for the world. But most importantly, because it is desirable to the Creator.

And although you feel very sorry for the world, this is not out of love for it, but primarily out of love for the Creator, because you must work more from the desire to give Him pleasure.

The same self-centered struggle is happening here: for what? Certainly not for oneself anymore. For the sake of the world or the sake of the Creator? And here arises such duality. After all, it is impossible to build a coherent action without all the components—me, world, Creator—being put together in the right packaging, since only then will they yield results. Therefore, it is necessary to work on their correct combination.

It is like aiming; you must align all axes so that your eye, the front sight, and the object are all on the same line. Then you hit the target. It is the same here.

Answer: It seems to me that I simply tried to express my impressions of my encounter with Kabbalah there. Maybe it is because this book is so direct that people respond to it so much.

My Response: Correct.

Question: At what point does it happen that a person delivers it in such a way?

Answer: When it accumulates and pressures him from within, then that person just pours it all on paper.

Answer: Yes; otherwise, it would weigh on me. It is like giving birth.

Answer: Yes.

Answer: Reading is still more intimate, and listening to someone is no substitute for reading.

Comment: Recently humanity has been listening to audiobooks more and more. But you still encourage reading in the old-fashioned way.

My Response: I am for reading. It is very intimate. I would not replace one with the other.

Comment: But you can combine it somehow. Listen while driving when there is no opportunity to read. And then come home and read it.

My Response: If I listen to something like that internally, I cannot drive a car and listen. I am in it with all my senses.
