How Can We Be Brave these Days?

562.02Question: Now that the gates to the Creator are open as never before, we have never been closer to Him. Therefore, the state of “it is difficult next to the Creator” rises, and our “donkey” kicks with all his might. How can we be brave these days?

Answer: We should think only about mutual help, mutual support, unity, and a request to the Creator. Other than that, nothing else—mutual help, mutual unification and only with the Creator.

Question: Is there a place for joy here?

Answer: Of course there is. The fact that the Creator has placed you in such a low state from which you have no opportunity to do anything other than ask Him for correction, this should be a great joy.

245.10Question: Is it correct to look at what is happening in the world and at the latest conflict currently taking place in Israel as if the Creator has increased the resolution like with a microscope and is showing me my attitude to the ten?

Answer: Yes. Each time the Creator increases the resolution, and thus we see past problems on an enlarged scale.

Question: What is colliding with what in my attitude to the ten?

Answer: There is a collision of your personal egoism with the force of bestowal and connection that is in the ten. These are the two forces that contradict each other.

The Essence of the Prayer

534Question: Suppose we discover that we have a disease of distancing from the Creator. We know that unification will cure us of this disease. What should the essence of the prayer be? Should we ask for unification so that the disease will go away? Or should we simply ask for unification without telling the Creator what problem we want to be healed from?

Answer: We must ask for unification and ask for rapprochement. As a consequence of this, some problems will go away, and perhaps others will arise at a higher level. But this way we will move forward.

Question: Should we include the name of the disease in the prayer?

Answer: No, we cannot determine the name.

Question: So if there is a war, then should we simply ask for unification without mentioning in the prayer that we are asking for rapprochement so that the Creator will save us from war?

Answer: No, when things like war happen, we can ask by naming the problem and asking for salvation from it.

Prayer for the Many

239Question: It feels like the Creator is constantly giving us a reason to connect. As soon as we feel that we are no longer able to cope by ourselves, a special prayer is born—a prayer for the many. What else can we do to transfer and convey it to society as much as possible?

Answer: Nothing. This is enough. If we pray for the many, for them to be connected and aimed at the Creator, then nothing else is needed.

It is possible to convey this to the outside world only through your heart.

For the Unification of the People of Israel

962.6Question: Should we pray for the people of Israel to unite because they are the most broken? How should you direct yourself correctly in this regard?

Answer: To direct oneself correctly means to aim for such a unification among themselves that every nation comes to understand that a bright future can only be in unification between them.

Only in this way will we attain everything we desire, except one thing—to rule over others, to dictate to others—and will each person to understand what one’s uniqueness is, what one’s work is, and what one should do in order to benefit others.

And others will do the same for him or her, and absolute mutual love and care for one another, everyone, and everything will reign.

This is inherent in nature, it is how it should and will be. Only all this depends on us today, how much we can get at least one step closer to this. For this reason, wars occur.

Question: Should we in our prayer, internally help the people of Israel in uniting among themselves?

Answer: Yes, it is necessary to unite at this level, defend ourselves, and correct ourselves. However, the most important thing for us is to disseminate this idea to all of humanity.

The World Needs Correction through Unity

214Gradually, the nations of the world will agree that we must live in friendship and cooperation, and in rapprochement between us. After all, there can be no progress in moving humanity forward otherwise.

Therefore, we are approaching a state where part of humanity will begin to understand that rapprochement between nations is necessary not only to avoid wars; it is a necessity coming from nature itself, from its source, the Creator.

The difficult situation in the country will force people to become interested in the wisdom of Kabbalah. Although they are accustomed to associating Kabbalah with some kind of miracles, mysticism, or rituals, in fact, Kabbalah teaches the structure of reality, which includes the entire universe, all people, all inanimate matter, plants, and animals, that is, the entire nature of the universe without exception.

We must understand that we live in a world that needs correction through unity. There is a lot of work ahead to oblige all the inhabitants of the world to think about this. There is no other way to reach the correction of the world and come to peace and tranquility, to a good life, so as not to be reincarnated in this world, which is falling to the lowest point of reality, unless we connect into one man with one heart.

A person must clearly realize this so that in the turmoil of this life, no matter how confused he is every day by the billions of people around him, he still does not become disconnected from the purpose of life and does not fall under the control of desires for wealth, power, knowledge or when his only concern is for food, sex, and family.

“Would You Sacrifice Yourself to Save Other People?” (Times of Israel)

Michael Laitman, on the Times of Israel: “Would You Sacrifice Yourself to Save Other People?
Many people now contemplate this question as several stories emerge of self-sacrifice to save others in the current Israel-Hamas war.

For example, on the first day of the war, six surviving friends had told how Cpl. Matan Abergil saved their lives by jumping on them to absorb a grenade’s force that had been thrown into their armored personnel carrier. Also, Tali Hadad, a mother of six, drove back and forth to take 13 wounded people to the emergency medical center in Ofakim while the city was under attack.

What goes through the mind of these people putting their own lives on the line for the sake of others?

It is simply that they are doing the right thing. They view saving others as the good and correct action to take in that moment, and this view gives them the strength to carry it out.

It is impressive because it goes against our survival instinct. We do, however, host an inclination to put our own lives at risk for the sake of others. Instinctively, we are like animals—even though the animal kingdom possesses several examples of self-sacrifice to save other animals—but acts of self-sacrifice to save others show us that we have capabilities beyond our base survival instincts.

We should learn from these acts of bravery that it is simply how we have to relate to each other. Every person hosts such potential. It is the potential to completely devote ourselves for the sake of others. In order to create a society with strong unifying bonds, we need to awaken this potential in our hearts.

One of the problems now in Israel is that stories of bravery and self-sacrifice circulate at a time of emergency, but where is our appreciation of these qualities in our day-to-day lives? In calmer times, we brush over such stories in favor of a more divisive discourse, taking sides against each other.

Since unity above division brought us together as a nation to begin with, then nothing will help us until we realize—at all times—that we are in a constant state of emergency until we achieve, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” We need to reach a state where we constantly uphold positive connections of mutual support, care and love above all of our divisive inclinations. When we do, we will see the world’s conflicts subside as a new, harmonious and peaceful world opens up.

“What can Israeli society do to ensure the safe return of the Israeli hostages in Gaza?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What can Israeli society do to ensure the safe return of the Israeli hostages in Gaza?

We should do everything possible in order to increase our unity.

We should not pay attention to other people and nations, but come closer to each other in a way where we will become “as one man with one heart.”

That is what will help us: the connection between us and with the upper force, the Creator.

We will then succeed in getting back all the people who were taken hostage.

Based on “An Inside Look” with Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman and Oren Levi on October 15, 2023. Written/edited by students of Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman.

What Does it Mean to Be the People of Israel?

961.1When thinking about how the catastrophe of October 7, this pogrom, could have happened to the people of Israel, you realize that apparently we ourselves allowed it to happen. After all, there is no unification among us as one nation, we do not strive for unity, we neglect each other, and we do not get closer from year to year. We do not meet the requirements that are necessary to be called the people of Israel.

If we were talking about some other nation, then perhaps this would be a normal state of affairs. But Israel became a nation only after it was united. And if there is no unity, then there is no nation—that is the uniqueness of the people of Israel.

Thousands of years ago we agreed to become the chosen people under special conditions. We must not forget about them because they determine the existence of our people who are obliged to be as one man with one heart and as “all of Israel are friends.” We must strive to become more united with every passing year. But the opposite is happening; year after year, there are only more and more street protests, as if the entire country is engaged in a fight between soccer fans after a match.

Therefore, it is not surprising that disaster befalls us. Before it happened, a massive political dispute broke out in the country and stirred up many emotions and aggression. This was the critical point of the internal split.

We need to rise above all disputes. Even though our opinions differ, we maintain good relations. Disagreement does not hinder our good relationships because we feel close and related, like a family in which there is love. Otherwise, we cannot be considered one nation.

From above, there is a desire to show us that nothing will help us if there are no heartfelt relationships between us, the people of Israel, i.e., when I am close to you and you are close to me and so we are all close to each other.

We Lack the Creator

261Question: What are we missing to balance the force of evil with the force of good?

Answer: We lack the Creator coming closer to us and being revealed between us. Then this force will rule over us, and we will be completely different—kind, responsive, and sympathetic to each other, like one man with one heart.
