Answer: Disciples or Jews are one and the same. In the sources, the Jews are people aspiring to the Creator, the people who want to attain the meaning of life, not ordinary people.

My disciples are the Jews, from the word “Yehudim,” striving for unity.

People who cultivate this yearning in themselves begin to feel all their corporeal impulses as artificial and superfluous ones, which they must still use and in which they must live, because this is necessary to correct the world. Through this they are in contact with the world.

At first they live just like everyone else. Maybe they succeed on the corporeal level, maybe not. But in principle, their suffering is internal, not external. Sometimes they go through very interesting metamorphoses.

Question: What is the difference in the perception of life of that part of humanity that needs to awaken as opposed to just an ordinary person?

Answer: In a person who is constantly transforming, the upper light is working all the time. That person perceives the world a little differently than other people.

He makes rather strange decisions and has sharp turns in life. He goes through many options for his attitude to life: quits, moves, accepts, discards, and gets carried away by one thing or the other, then quickly cools down, etc. This is a feature of his rapid development.

He seems odd, a little out of this world, a little edgy, angular, or smart. But in the end, in spite of everything, he discovers his find; “I found it!”

Now everything depends on his further development. As much as the strength of his desire to discover the purpose of life is truly deep, so he continues.

What matters here is a huge number of factors that awaken between him and the source of his development, how much he hears what he is told and grasps it, how much he has common habits and morals with the environment he is in, and much more.

Comment: A group of historians and archaeologists claims that before the civilizations of Mayans, Incans, and so on, there were super-civilizations, and that some kind of super people lived in the lands of Israel and India. Scientists have evidence that the cut of stone in these places is so perfect that even modern technologies cannot do this.

My Response: Yes, of course. When we go down under the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, there are blocks of 40, 60, and 70 tons. How could it be moved and installed with such precision without modern technical means? Even today it is difficult to do so.

Moreover, these blocks were brought from afar, tens of kilometers away. How were they delivered? How were they installed?

This is an incredibly difficult engineering challenge! It is beyond our power even today, and even more so at that time! Therefore, scientists have assumptions about superhumans.

I think they just misunderstand it. In many countries we find such paradoxes that people of the past used a kind of electric batteries, they made correct calculations based on the stars in the sky, and they had a different approach to nature.

The modern approach is rigid, as if digital, computerized, and their approach was based on the use of the general force of nature. They knew how to use methods that we do not know about today.

Now, moving to integral humanity, becoming generalized and round, we will gradually acquire a mind that will be in similarity with nature.

When we, like all nature,  become tied together by mutual guarantee, by a common obligation, and people understand that they are one single whole, then we will have a new mind, new thoughts, new desires. In this case, we will be able to understand nature itself because we will be like it, we will be together with it.

Question: Scientists believe that superhumans once existed in the land of Israel. Could this be true from the point of view of Kabbalah?

Answer: No, there have never been superhumans here who would visit our Earth, who allegedly left cave paintings of spacesuits, or something else. It is all speculation!

But people were close to nature and knew about its internal qualities. They were one with it.

When I was in Colombia, four Indians who lived high in the Andes mountains suddenly came to one of the meetings with me.

They were dressed very interestingly and did not allow us to take photos of them. When they spoke to us, they did not look at us, but instead looked past us. Their gaze was directed only inward.

They said that about a month before my arrival in Colombia, they felt that a special person would visit their country, and they began to seek a meeting with me.

Can you imagine?! They were in the Andes where they have no connection with the world, no electricity or anything. Yet they felt some kind of waves and came to visit me.

It was interesting to communicate with them because a person who feels nature and its laws, in principle, feels the laws of Kabbalah. That is, he lives in the Andes at an altitude of 4,000 meters and feels another person who should come somewhere not far from him. Not far is hundreds of kilometers away.

Comment: But a Kabbalist and such a person are completely different. After all, people who feel nature still have to develop.

My Response: No, that is enough for them. They did not even have to talk, in principle. They approached me, we sat together, exchanged a few phrases, and that was enough for them. Everything else they receive, as they say, through nature, from the air. This is how this information comes to them. There is no need to talk; all of it exists in nature.

Comment: However, they did not come to the attainment that a Kabbalist comes to.

My Response: They attain and feel, just on a very small level. After all, they are in the same nature and feel the forces that are behind it.

Question: But do they still need to develop to the awareness that a Kabbalist achieves?

Answer: Maybe they do not need it. They represent a less developed egoism, and therefore they must correct themselves at its level, nothing more. Who cares? All the same, we all connect together into one single whole, a single desire. They make up a small weak part in this one single desire.

My part in this desire is more egoistic. So what? As a result, we will all organically connect into one common whole, into one body, and everyone will feel everything in exactly the same way, as our common body.

Michael Laitman, On Quora: “Can we learn from Jews how to unite?“

There was once a hefty dispute between David Ben-Gurion and Moshe Sharet. Sharet said, “What will the nations say?” And Ben-Gurion answered: “It doesn’t matter what the nations will say. What’s important is what the Jews will do.”

I agree with Ben-Gurion’s statement, but on condition that the Jews truly desire to achieve unity. No nation or other opinion would then matter to us. We would prioritize our unity over everything else.

The Jews have the ability to bring the condition of living in unity to the world. It is also why we are widely hated and blamed for being evil. There is a common feeling toward us that we host some kind of foundation, a force that can benefit the world, but which we keep to ourselves.

Despite Jews’ disproportionate success in fields such as science, medicine and technology, for instance, the disproportionate amount of Nobel Peace Prizes that Jews receive, we see that it leads to no special love for the Jews.

The Jewish people need to bring wholeness, love and unity to the world, and if we fail to do so, then nothing else we do counts.

In short, it is important that we unite and spread unity to the world through our example and teaching, so that everyone will know that their good future depends solely on unity. We will then all witness in practice what it means to be a “light unto the nations.”

The geography of Israel has its own unique features. Absolutely all climatic zones of the Earth could be found here. At a distance of literally 20 kilometers from each other, there are such transitions that are not found in other parts of the planet for thousands of kilometers.

Here there is desert, subtropics, and the lowest point on Earth, the Dead Sea. The elongated configuration of the country is very unusual, and it forms the seam between Europe, Asia, and Africa.

And in ancient times, millions of years ago, it was all connected and there were no canals. Over time the tectonic plates split and everything sort of spread out.

For these last thousands of years, it has been possible to speak about the geography of Israel as completely similar to the geography or connections of the upper world, the world of Atzilut.

Comment: But previously Israel was wider and stretched to the Euphrates River. And now it is an elongated strip.

My Response: It does not matter. We do not consider the current political borders, but rather geographical boundaries, the ones where the upper force that affects this land is spreading and is called “Israel.”

This force in actuality operates from the Nile to the Euphrates, including Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, and today’s Israel. All these places are under a special upper influence that is called the power of “Israel,” which means “straight to the Creator” (Israel, aimed upward).

But still, the most intense internal part is the one that is under the jurisdiction of Israel today. It fully corresponds to the structure of the upper world, the world of Atzilut.

Michael Laitman, On Quora: “What is it that could cause a civil war in Israel?“

As the days pass since the 2022 Israeli elections, the conflict worsens between the political blocs. The opposition states that the government is illegitimate and discusses the possibility of a civil war while the coalition calls for the imprisonment of the opposition leaders on the basis of treason.

In Israel, we are coming to a state of inner struggle, hatred and rejection that has caused us to degenerate several times over history, and once again, we are at a crossroad. Even though we understand that our situation is dangerous, and the country has fallen apart twice before due to letting our differences detach us, it still does not matter. We see that we cannot agree to any kind of a compromise, even if means the country’s dismantlement.

And what is this dire situation ultimately based on? Simply put, ego and pride. One cannot let the other govern the country as long as there is the slightest opportunity to put spokes in the other’s wheel. Other than uniting above the divisions, as is it written that “love will cover all crimes,” we can do nothing else to fix our current conflict.

We have to unite and reach a state of a common love despite our hatred of each other. If we fail to positively connect above our differences, then we will cease to exist.

Today, humanity is on the verge of spiritual realization. The whole history of the Jews (whatever one may say, they are still a special people) is a demonstration to all mankind of what will happen to them.

But you can unfold the course of history differently, not physically, but with a quick awareness, that is, to accept the methodology from this nation. Then, there will be no need to experience what they have gone through, i.e., be wiser by possessing this knowledge.

We see that people do not yet know how to work with it, what to do, where to run from it. They raise their hands and say, “No, no, we’re fine.” The same exact thing is written in the Egyptian story: “Everything is fine, all is good, we still have nowhere to go. Let’s come to an agreement with our pharaoh (egoism). Let’s try to do something different.”

People seek and search. This is natural because they do not want to see or actually do not see an opportunity to avoid it, because it is a completely different nature.

The Creator is hidden, the upper force of nature manifests itself only one-sidedly, as mechanical, inanimate, non-purposeful, without a plan: matter develops and that’s it. It has evolved from inanimate to vegetative, animate, and human. So, we are the smartest! And what do we see? We can’t do anything.

It was the same with Moses when he was told: “Why do you worry the people? We are fine. Be quiet, do not spread your Kabbalah, do not call for an exodus, for an ascent. Get out of here!” Therefore, he was forced to run away to the King of Midian Yitro, and only returned 40 years later. That is when the people began listening to him because they had received many blows during that time.

Back then, this story happened to a small number of souls and now, it must happen to the whole of humanity.

Question: Where did the word “Zion” come from?

Answer: “Zion” is from the word “Etzia” (“exit”)—exit from exile.

If Zionism previously attracted Jews to Zion, today it not only does not attract, but actually repels because it is being replaced by a new form of uniting people, not around some places called “Zion” or “Jerusalem,” which have become symbols of hard Judaism.

Real Zionism, which has gradually formed and is still being formed from the past, is “love your neighbor,” which is the next step in the connection of the people regardless of their land or even their customs.

The most important custom—”love your neighbor as yourself” (the main rule of the Torah)—is what it is calling to fulfill in the first place. This is the real Zionism of today that arose on the ruins of the old one, which has simply served its purpose.

Previously there was an aspiration to the earth, to Zion, to stones, to the Wailing Wall, to something so much more understandable and in some way attractive, like stones in the ancestral cemetery. But in the end, all this disappears and is emptied of the great fulfillment that once existed, even at the beginning of the 20^th century.

By the 21^st century it has ceased to be something attractive at all. On the contrary, the call to Zionism is something inhibiting, and it manifests itself as a lack of understanding of the current situation and the movement of history.

Now Zionism has taken the place of uniting all people, not only Jews, although the Jews should be in the center. This connection should indicate the future to all the nations of the world.

Michael Laitman, On The Times of Israel: “How to Unite a Nation that Is Not a Nation”

Earlier this week, Israeli president, Isaac Herzog, gave a heartfelt speech where he called on both sides of the political rift surrounding the proposed judicial reform to lower the flames and build bridges above the disputes. “We are in the midst of fateful days for our nation and for our country,” Herzog said. “We have for quite some time now not been in a political debate but on the brink of constitutional and social collapse … we are on the verge of a violent clash—a powder keg…on the threshold of one man’s hand against his brother’s,” he stated, adding that both sides need to understand that if only one side wins … then all of Israel loses.

Are we really brothers? We certainly do not feel like brothers, at least not as it seems in protests and in clashes with authorities and the calls by political leaders to shed blood. So, are we brothers nonetheless?

The truth is that we are not. In its origins, the people of Israel came from different places, different tribes, and different cultures and faiths. Our ancestors formed a nation, but they did not come from the same family and there was no familial connection to keep them together at times of disagreement.

For this reason, whenever a dispute erupts among the people of Israel, it leads to fierce clashes, intense hatred, and a deep sense of alienation. The only way to solve these rifts is through acknowledging our origin, our consequent vocation, and by committing to carrying it out. Without all three, we will have no peace of mind and no peace. We can already hear voices among Israeli leaders calling for bloodshed “in order to save Israel’s democracy.” Unless we realize the purpose of our nation, we will fall once more, as we always have in the past, into such division that will bring upon us death and destruction.

Currently, many of us still feel as one nation, albeit a deeply divided one. Yet, that feeling is quickly dissipating in the face of slurs and hollers that stymie any attempt at unity and demand a total surrender to the dictates of the entitled. These people do not feel that we belong to one nation, even if officially we do.

This is why our only option to avoid yet another dismal chapter in the annals of our nation is to take up our vocation as a national task. Only if we return to our roots, to our legacy to the world—to be as one man with one heart and to love one another as ourselves in order to set an example for humanity—will we be able to overcome the rifts that tear us apart.

The divisions between us are not about this or that reform; they are reflections of our ingrained hatred, the same hatred that has haunted us since the inception of our people. The hatred we see on Israel’s streets today is the same hatred that divided and weakened the leadership of Israel’s first kingdom, and the same hatred that set off a bloodbath among the Jews inside the surrounded city of Jerusalem, which led to the fall of the Second Temple. It is always the hatred between us that inflicts on us adversity, and nothing else.

No foreign general or leader has ever been able to defeat Israel unless Israel first defeated one another and paved the way for a conqueror to come and plunge the relics. No leader ever turned against Israel unless he saw that Israel were weakened by their own discord. Today, we are paving the way for the next villain to come and exploit our disunion. But as then, so now, the new chapter of Israel’s chronicles of defeat will not be for the might of our foe, but for the infirmity of our union.

Question: Can the 400 years that the Jewish people spent in exile be considered a period of a dream?

Answer: The period of a dream is generally called the entire period before our common redemption from egoism because a dream is a minimal influence of light from above, which holds us only in a physical form.

This is the state we are in now. Therefore, it is called a dream: the illumination of VAK, that is, a small illumination of light that is not even felt by us.

Where does life come from and why do electrons spin? Where does all the energy come from and how did our universe appear?

Does it all come from an infinitely powerful explosion point, which is just one point, and all matter, energy, and information developed from it?

We do not feel where it comes from. It goes away, diffuses into the next dimension and comes from there again, but we do not feel these transitions.
