Correct Relationship

938.07Question: What is the correct connection in the ten according to what we are building?

Answer: It is the closest connection between us when everyone feels the ten in complete unity. Then the Creator can reveal Himself in us to the fullest extent.

Question: What is the correct connection according to what we expect from the Creator, according to His desire?

Answer: For this, we must completely annul ourselves before each other and be connected in such a way that whatever each one receives is shared by all.

Question: What then determines the extent of the Creator’s desire to reveal Himself in the lower ones?

Answer: The extent to which He reveals Himself to the lower ones is the measure of His desire to be revealed. We can desire His revelation only to the extent that we reveal our own capabilities.

Connection Sustained by the Creator

945Question: Why is it important to maintain love in connection rather than simply enjoying the light of life?

Answer: Enjoying the light of life is an egoistic pleasure. But if you are speaking about spiritual closeness with the Creator, you must put a ladder in front of you and at each step clearly define how you will ascend it.

Spiritual love between friends is the connection between you sustained by the Creator. You are connected with Him and with the ten, and by helping each other, you will constantly ascend this ladder toward the Creator.

Question: How can we imitate the qualities of bestowal, persistence, and consistency in spiritual work through love for one another?

Answer: Through effort. Consult with each other, make a single or a few united decisions, and follow them. Then you will see what works and what does not.

We Will Do and We Will Hear

933“And I will bless you in all that you do.” This is the meaning of “We will do and we will hear” (Rabash, Assorted Notes, 940, “The Point in the Heart”).

Question: How do we transition from the level of “we will do and we will hear” to “we will do and we will see”? What gets added?

Answer: This depends on the people. The Creator sends us what He wants to convey, and it is up to us to determine on which level we will receive it—hearing or seeing.

We need to elevate ourselves to the level of vision, because vision is a perception in which there are no doubts. This is why witnesses to events are those who have seen something and can testify about it.

Hearing is also a high level, but it is not sufficient. To come into contact with the Creator, we must rise to the level of seeing.

In the Connection with the Creator

213Question: Does the Creator want us to be connected with Him every moment?

Answer: Yes.

Question: How can someone in the modern world, where we encounter various people and their desires, interact with them without disconnecting from the Creator throughout the day?

Answer: There are times when you cannot detach from something important or special, and in this way, such impressions accumulate within you.

Question: So is the only solution to shut yourself in a room with the teacher and friends and never leave?

Answer: No, that will not help either. That is artificial.

In general, you should indeed connect with friends and feel that you are up against the collective egoism and that it is essential to come together and overcome it in order to connect in a mutual desire to bestow.

281.02Question: Should we eventually organize everything so that every person in the world ends up in a ten?

Answer: If we receive an order from above, we will act accordingly. In other words, if a feeling of the Creator’s will is revealed in us, we will have to fulfill it.

Question: How can we sanctify our vessels? What does that mean?

Answer: It means that the light gives them a greater desire for bestowal.

Question: What does it mean not to yearn for the light as a source of pleasure, but to yearn for it as the quality of bestowal?

Answer: Receiving energy from the light is different from enjoying the light.

The Ten Is a Common Desire

528.03Question: What does it mean to create a Kli of the ten?

Answer: In order to create a Kli of ten, ten people unite to form one desire that they strive to realize.

If they are fully aware of it and are in it, this common desire is called a ten.

By fulfilling the requirements of unification, they begin to feel each other and the Creator.

Question: We have daily meetings of the ten. How can we sum up our unity at the end of the meeting and draw some conclusions to reinforce the Kli?

Answer: Of course, you can meet every day and discuss, but overall, even two or three times a week is enough to share your impressions of unification with your friends, talk about new things you can reveal in it, and how to rise higher and higher in unity, closer to the Creator.

How Do We Pray Correctly?

239Question: If we renew ourselves daily and start from a clean slate, what is the correct prayer for everything that was, is, and will be? Or should we focus on the present moment and ask for corrections now?

Answer: When we speak of what was, is, and will be, it reflects our attitude to the Creator as the source of everything. But if we ask Him to change us at the present moment, then we are talking about our immediate, moment-by-moment connection, and we turn to Him with this request.

Question: What is more important: to pray for your longevity or for the connection with you not to be broken?

Answer: Do not pray for my longevity or connection with me, but for your connection within the group and with the Creator.

A System of Many Desires

938.05All creations in the world are many organs standing one atop the other, and when they are all corrected, they will truly become one body (Zohar for All, Toldot [Generations], “These Are the Generations of Isaac”).

Question: Is each ten an organ of the common Partzuf?

Answer: You could say that it is part of some organ.

Question: How can we become spiritual organs?

Answer: That is not your task. Your task is to strive for connection within your ten, then in your hundred, your thousand, and so on. In other words, keep ascending in your connection.

Question: What is a created being in the world?

Answer: A created being in the world is an individual desire to enjoy, to feel that you are alive, egoism.

The Creator created man, meaning a system consisting of many desires and subsystems, all of which are directed toward correcting themselves.

Don’t Steal from Each Other

224Question: How can we develop sensitivity to the recognition of evil within ourselves?

Answer: See that there is so much of it in you that you can’t do anything about it.

Comment: Sometimes I see that there is too much of it.

My Response: That is good. Suffer from it, hate it, and try to understand why the Creator made you the most egoistic one.

Question: Should we help our friends in the ten come to the recognition of evil?

Answer: You can, but very carefully; otherwise, you will be stealing from them.

Question: How do we avoid stealing from them?

Answer: Do not tell them what is bad or good about them.

234Question: How can one stay focused on the source while suppressing one’s ego to achieve at least minimal contact?

Answer: It is by turning to the Creator and asking for the force of bestowal rather than the force of reception.

Question: I understand a prayer directed outside of me. We say, “Give me this, give me that.” But what should a  prayer “inside me” be? What is it?

Answer: Inside me is egoistic and outside me is altruistic, for the sake of others.

Question: Against the background of strength gained from the convention, I did not feel small; on the contrary, I felt like I was as great as our friends. Is it good to remain in such a state or should I humble myself a bit?

Answer: It is good to stay in that state. Do not be afraid to feel great. Just as a hen covers its eggs with its body to hatch them, you can act similarly toward others.
