To The Light Through The Center Of The Ten

laitman_283.02“The advantage of the light is from within the darkness.” So the Creator sends us various disturbances on the path so that we can see where we stumble, where we come across obstacles, what boundaries we cannot cross, as if we are searching for a passage between trees and stones. Our task is to understand that all the disturbances come from the Creator, besides whom there is nothing else, and most importantly, not to concentrate on the problems themselves but to attribute them all to the Creator and try to rise above them.

The Creator gives us difficulties so that when overcoming them by faith above reason, I will advance through them. This gives satisfaction because I see that there is a ruler in the world who takes care of me, who teaches me in this way. This is exactly how I studied at school where I was given exercises and tasks that I had to solve. It is the same now when the Creator sends me all kinds of difficulties, confuses me, and ruins my mood; I need to attribute it all to Him and through that sweeten the judgments.

At first, everyone does this work individually, but recently we attribute it more and more to the group. That is, I no longer consider my personal disturbances such as a bad mood, confusion, and troubles, but I am concerned with my connection with the group. I do not just attribute the disturbances to the Creator, but I perceive every disturbance as an opportunity to adhere even more to the center of the ten. Thus, I advance by working with the disturbances. In fact, these are not disturbances, but help on the path because in this way the upper force leads us to the goal.

Previously, the goal was to attribute everything to the Creator who is good and does good, but now I also need, through all the disturbances, to direct myself to the center of the group. We will always see how through all the obstacles, descents, personal, common, and global troubles the Creator correctly directs us to the goal, which becomes clearer and clearer.1

The Creator awakens in me the shattered desires, the parts of the shattering, and therefore, they are always revealed as troubles, they hurt me, frighten me, throw me off balance. But I know that all this is given in order to help me and guide me to the purpose of creation. To be correctly directed toward the purpose of creation, I must aim at the center of the group. This, however, is complicated, because it goes beyond the boundaries of my egoistic desire.

I am ready to admit that everything comes from the Creator; after all, who would refuse the connection with the upper force? I am even prepared to perceive all evil as good, it is in my egoistic interests to be protected by a benevolent ruler and hide from all the troubles, like in religion. But the next stage, the center of the ten, is already a step outside of my egoism. Here I need the strong support of the group that I can lean on. Otherwise, I will not even turn to the correct side, but I would sink more and more within myself.

Our job now is to fulfill three conditions:

1. To understand that the upper force is acting in everything and there is nothing else beside it;

2. This force is good that does good;

3. To come to this from the center of the group—this is an additional third condition.

We will then delve deeper into research and reveal additional details there until we reach the true realization. The Creator gives us not one but nine discernments; after all, this is how the upper system is built. The connection of the light with the desire is only possible through the nine discernments of the light and one discernments of the desire. The desire has one inclination: to receive fulfillment. There are nine treats before me and I need to know how to relate to each of them in order to bring contentment to the host.

Therefore, there are the first nine Sefirot and Malchut, and Malchut should bring itself to equivalence with them. Each one in the ten sees himself as Malchut and the friends as the first nine Sefirot. The Creator is revealed to me through the friends in different forms, negative and positive, that awaken envy, anger, and ambition in me, and I must adjust myself every time so that through the bestowal to the nine friends, I bestow to the Creator.

This is how I start to feel that my attitude toward the group gives me the attitude, understanding, and real illustration of the fact that I am acting inside a spiritual Kli. All the spiritual concepts such as direct, reflected, or inner light, Hizdakchut (purification) of the Masach (screen) will be revealed inside the group through its center.

Malchut turns into the first nine Sefirot by supporting them, revealing them, and shining in them. There is no light in the first nine Sefirot until Malchut restricts itself, raises the reflected light, and begins to work with its evil. Then the light will shine in the first nine Sefirot, that is, in the qualities of the Creator in my nine friends. Thanks to the fact that I justify my friends by rejecting my egoism, adhere to them like a small one to the big ones, and value them, I awaken in them the light that I will see.

I will reveal the Creator in them. It turns out that there are no friends anymore, but it is all a manifestation of the Creator toward me.

However, if we do not pass everything through the center of the ten, we simply remain in religion. This is the difference between religion and the wisdom of Kabbalah. Kabbalah requires realization through our connection.2

Back And Forth In The Rhythm Of Connection

laitman_962.1Thanks to the congress, we felt how we distanced ourselves a little from our ten and then drew near it again, like a pendulum swinging back and forth, changing the degree of our connection with each other or our connection with the Creator, our attitude toward the study. We had less strength, became weaker, and then got all the power back.

Each such full period of movement of the pendulum back and forth, rise and fall, does not pass without a trace, but leaves an imprint on us.1

Take Me To The Spiritual World Through The Center Of The Ten

laitman_258It seems to us that a person of strong faith should always find the strength to withstand any state and never lose connection with the Creator whether in sadness or in joy, as if nothing can shake or knock the person off eternal adhesion. But in reality, this is not so: a person striving for the Creator experiences constant changes. One must feel growing weakness within oneself, but at the same time know how to achieve increased confidence and adhesion with the Creator. Therefore, one advances and adds all the time.

However, if one feels no such changes within oneself, powerlessness and uncertainty, descents and fear, straying from the right path toward the Creator and the purpose of life, if one is not concerned about that, then it is actually an important reason for concern. A person needs to engage in the group as quickly as possible with all one’s might in order to begin receiving the surrounding light through it, which changes a person.

If we think that everything is fine and there is nothing to worry about, then this is the time to get concerned.1

In our world, we consider a person as strong if he advances without feeling heavily burdened. They put an additional ten kilograms on his back, and he keeps on going; another twenty kilograms, he keeps on going as if nothing happened. We consider such a person to be heroic and strong.

In spirituality, however, it is the opposite. A hero is the one who is sensitive to each gram that is added to one’s load and instantly turns to the Creator with a request to correct the lack of confidence and for the force of bestowal. Spiritual advancement is measured differently, in increased sensitivity. The Creator keeps adding difficulties to us in quality and quantity, and we always have the opportunity to ask Him for new strength through the environment and to thus advance.

Advancement on the path depends solely on the changes felt by a person, which the Creator awakens in each person. Each time, I have to realize where my weakness lies and how to be strengthened in order to advance. Clearly, I lack faith, the force of bestowal, therefore, I need the environment and the Creator more and more so that I can contribute to the environment, turn to the Creator though it, and thus continue on the path.2

Everyone needs to check what changes the congress has made in them. One might feel detached, another being pulled in, the third one may have a blurry mind and feelings. Some might be unable to find themselves in the ten, to look at the friends, to feel them, to find them in one’s heart like before. Participation in a bigger ten had such an effect on him that he stopped feeling the previous connection with his friends.

There are a lot of post-congress phenomena, which cannot be ignored while waiting for you to return to your usual track. I need to check what is happening to me and why, what kind of an effect the congress had on me. It is very important.

Everyone in the ten feels differently and we must examine whether we can return to the previous state or if this new state is much brighter, loftier, and more intense. We began to better appreciate the connection between us and understand why we are returning to our ten to be together. We do not just follow the advice of the Kabbalists, we begin to realize that without it we will have no confidence or strength to advance, we will have no place to draw strength from or to turn to the Creator.

The ten becomes a spiritual source, a spring. We feel how we can stabilize ourselves within it and resume our corrections. Each of us carries a special quality, like ten Sefirot, and that is why we are very different. But we are connected by the common work, the common goal; thus, out of ten people and no less, we can form a perfect way to relate to the Creator.

The ten turns into a Kli, an instrument, we can use to change things with, to influence or become connected to a wider or higher level.3

The center of the ten is the tiny eye of a needle through which I enter the spiritual world. To do so, I must restrict all my thoughts and desires, compressing them into a single point so that they would take me into the upper world through the center of the ten.4

The Center Of The Ten Is The Spiritual Vessel

laitman_962.5I do not have to erase my feelings as if they do not exist. If I make myself an absolute zero in order not to think about myself at all, then I destroy the entire depth of desire. I need, on the contrary, to rise above my egoism. Otherwise, it turns out that I am zero, and then the Creator is a little more than zero and nothing more.1

It is insufficient to simply decide that there is no one else besides the Creator. It takes a special force of faith in order to rise above myself a little. Otherwise, I can say as much as I want that there is no one else besides the upper force, but it will not help me. I nevertheless will attribute everything to myself or to others.

Therefore, we make efforts to connect with each other in the center of the ten, in the point where each one annuls himself toward others, toward connection, and toward the Creator. Thus, we gradually attract the reforming light that performs this action on us.2

Each of us says beautiful and correct words, but we do not connect our inclinations to the Creator, and therefore, we cannot offer Him our common desire (Kli), giving Him an opportunity to reveal Himself and to enjoy us. Our desires do not connect, and therefore, they cannot reveal the Creator. Individually, everything is correct, but there is not enough connection.

Ten people sit together and each one talks from the heart, but we are not connected with each other. The problem is that we do not connect our aspiration to the Creator and our connection with each other, we do not see that they are one and the same. The correct connection between us is the connection with the Creator.

We should try to get closer to a friend sensorily and inside this connection imagine the Creator, the quality of bestowal and love that I want to discover between me and the friend. So far, on the contrary, there is a barrier between us: the shattering instead of connection, hatred instead of love.

We have to connect all this together: adhesion with the Creator, revelation that there is no one else besides Him, and connection between friends and faith above reason. It all connects in the adhesion between us and the Creator.

By each of our actions in thought and desire, we must attract, invite the Creator to control us, try to feel and discover His governance. We should plan our thoughts and actions so that they will be aimed at the revelation of the governance of the Creator over everything that is happening. Such an action is called a commandment.

Our aspiration to the center of the ten is directed exactly so that through our common efforts we would make the Creator rule over us.3

Gradually, we will begin to reveal that there is such a concept inside the ten. Previously we did not think about nor want to reveal it, but now we see how important it is, that this is the center, the main goal of our work. The center of the ten is the Temple, the spiritual vessel. Each one individually is not a Kli, rather only all of us together, correctly connected and directed at bestowal to the Creator. To the extent that we yearn to reach this center, we will start feeling how the Creator is managing us from it.4

Yearning for the center of the ten, we address our corrected state that already exists ahead of us, the good future that stands before us. To the extent that we make efforts to imagine it as good and as correct as possible, and yearn to reach this connection in love and mutual help, we enter into the next frame, into the future picture. This is how we advance step by step, degree after degree.

We try to imagine the correct state and ask the Creator to correct our direction. The Creator is our main helper. The entire path is already paved up to the very end of correction, but we need to pass it in order to feel how much we need the Creator. All these stages are only the means, the reason to turn to Him. By joining Him to our advancement, we correctly realize the correction.

Therefore, the main goal is not the future state in itself, but the connection with the Creator that is required in order to reach it. The state itself is just a reason, after all, I don’t need this state but the Creator.5
