From the Desire to Bestow to the Creator

527.03Question: You said that I should yearn for the Creator not out of the desire to adhere to Him but from the desire to bestow to Him. How can I draw such a boundary internally in order to really yearn to bestow to Him?

Answer: You can generate and develop this desire in you only if you work together with the group. Envy, lust, and honor, this is what you should have here.

Question: What does it mean that I have a desire to bestow to Him and not to adhere to Him?

Answer: To bestow means to be in contact with the Creator. As He is to you so you are to Him.
Adhesion is a passive action while mutual bestowal is an active one.

Hate Evil and Love Good

963.5Question: How can we hate evil on one hand, and on the other hand be happy working with it? How can we combine these two opposite feelings?

Answer: These feelings can be combined perfectly. You will see how evil and good help to recognize each other and increase each other.

Although it seems to us that they are ready to destroy each other, in fact, evil brings out good, and good reveals even greater evil, and thus helps a person hate evil and love good.

Question: How important is it to hate evil? Is it enough to understand that you need to move away from evil?

Answer: No, this is not just a calculation in the head, but a feeling in the heart. Both love and hate, should be felt in the heart.

Questions about Spiritual Work—38

248.02Question: Is it necessary to cause a spiritual craving for adhesion with the Creator?

Answer: Absolutely! But you can only receive it from the friends by looking at them, hearing them, and envying them.

Question: We are supposed to work in joy and gratitude. So why do the sources say: “As is the sorrow, so is the reward”? Why do we have to go through states of suffering again and again?

Answer: It depends on what we consider suffering. If moving away from the Creator even for one minute is perceived by us as suffering, then this quickly brings our thoughts back to the Creator.

Question: How can I not enjoy for my own sake while eating a meal, but bring contentment to the Host?

Answer: Show the host how much you enjoy His food, appreciate the meal, and feel the tastes in each dish so He really receives pleasure from your joy.

Question: We work so much in the ten. Why do we always lose what the Creator gives us?

Answer: We cannot establish the correct connection between us and keep what we receive from the Creator. Therefore, it disappears.

Question: You tell us not to think about the bad. What if these thoughts have become very intrusive, like an annoying fly, to the point of exiting the ten? What can be done in this state?

Answer: Work on yourself. Consider yourself your own enemy.

Question: You say we need to be close but without opening our hearts. What does being close to each other mean?

Answer: Do not open your hearts so as not to interfere with each other. Think about how you can be close without interfering with each other.

Who Is the Bread of Bestowal Intended For

531.03The Egyptians despised the food of the Hebrews, since all the bread of the Hebrews, meaning their nourishment, was in order to bestow, and to the Egyptians, all the bread is evil-eyed, namely to receive (Rabash, article No. 13 “What Is the “Bread of an Evil-Eyed Man” in the Work?“).

Question: How can we share the bread of bestowal in dissemination and how can we impress our surroundings?

Answer: Unfortunately you will not delight the external environment with this. They do not have those spiritual roots, and they will not understand you.

With a person who has no connection with the Creator, with spirituality, nothing can be done. And for those who have a connection, you should bring them closer to you, and include them in your work on connection, and from this, they will begin to understand what it means to be closer to each other.

Question: How can we understand and feel that spiritual work is a reward?

Answer: You can verify this only by working in a group.

The Creator Has No Preferences

630.2Question: The Creator sent the Torah to all the people of Israel. Why did He open the way to Him only to Kabbalists?

Answer: The Creator has done everything so that anyone who wants to can approach Him.

If we don’t understand this now, we will eventually find out that He has no preference for one person over another, a man over a woman, one nation over another, and so on. Otherwise, it would not be the Torah, but something invented by people.

Believe me, the more you reveal the universe and everything that the Creator has created, the more you will be convinced that there are no preferences, no cronyism, nothing.

It all depends on the person himself who advances only in accordance with his efforts. So good luck to you in approaching the Creator and making sure that He treats everyone exactly the same.

Only Kindness and Mercy

294.4Question: When the Creator reveals your qualities to you, you see on one hand that they are like helpers on the spiritual path, and on the other hand they simply destroy you and everything around you. What should my attitude be toward these qualities so that they are only for the sake of bestowal? How can we adapt to them?

Answer: First, everything comes from the Creator with only with one purpose—for us to determine what we need for complete correction.

You should not see any obstacles in your qualities because all this is only good from the side of the Creator. As King David said, Only goodness and mercy accompany me all the days of my life,  even though he suffered a lot.

We also need to learn to perceive the influence of the Creator on us as full of goodness. It is intended only to correct us, our attitude to each other, and the world.

Questions about Spiritual Work—37

629.1Question: In the modern whirl of life, it is very difficult to stop for a few hours and delve into inner work with intention and request. Can the lack of such an opportunity be compensated by working in our tens?

Answer: Yes. But all the same, in order to delve into the work in the group, you have to break away from this world.

Question: It is said that if there is no desire in the heart, the mind cannot explore. What exactly is the work of the mind?

Answer: It is to realize, understand, and accept what the Creator wants to explain and reveal to us.

Question: What should I do with the jealousy of the Creator that arises in me? I want so much to be His favorite.

Answer: Do you not have to be one of many for that? We are all children of the Creator. If the Creator loves His creations, then you must also love His creations.

A Rope to Save the Drowning World

936So is the Torah: being entirely the thoughts of the Creator, it is like a rope that the Creator throws to people to save them and pull them out of the Klipot [shells] (Baal HaSulam, A Speech for the Completion of The Zohar).

It is like a person drowning in the river. In order to be able to use this help of the Creator, we need to unite and grab this rope together. It is impossible to do this alone.

To cling to the end of the rope means to achieve at least a minimal equivalence of form with the Creator. The Torah reflects the thoughts of the Creator, and the Creator thinks about giving, bestowal, and connecting all together. In this we can become like the Creator.

Grabbing the rope means to be together all the time in one thought as we try to feel each other, and from our connection to hold on to the Creator so that from our mutual bestowal we come to bestowal to the Creator.

If we are capable of a good connection with each other, this is enough to catch on to the end of the rope that binds us to the Creator. Here everything depends on us, on how much we grab the lower end of the rope closest to us and want to hold the rope together so as not to miss it.

At the Very Beginning of the Generation of the Messiah

229Our world is getting closer to the days of the Messiah, in which there will be a special revelation of the Creator to the creations. We live at the very beginning of the generation of the Messiah, which is destined to be filled with the knowledge of the Creator, that is, with the upper light.

But it is said that “the advantage of light is revealed from darkness.” And therefore, the greater the darkness we feel in the world as it plunges into darkness, the stronger will be our desire and striving to reveal the light in order to demand its revelation.

After all, when there is no darkness, we do not have a special craving for light. The darkness that is beginning to unfold in today’s world is the beginning of the manifestation of our desire to reveal the light. In the end, all people, from young to old, will understand that they need to reveal the Creator in a common unity, to know Him, to feel Him, and to connect with Him, the upper force that sustains us and prepares us to rise to its level.

We will attain the main force of the Creator in relation to us as the good who does good, and we will want to merge with it. And then people will turn into creatures of another nature, ones that are kind and doing good, and they will be filled with the attainment of the Creator. Then we will be able to perceive the Creator’s intention to bestow on the creations; we will connect, and in this form we will be able to respond to Him with bestowal from our side.
