Question: The Study of the Ten Sefirot, written by Baal HaSulam, is a commentary on the book of the Ari, the great Kabbalist of the sixteenth century.
Why was it important at that time to write about such phenomena as time, space, and motion, first the Ari, and then Baal HaSulam?
Answer: Because at that time humanity had already grown to a state where it could somehow intuitively understand these sources.
In principle, they wrote for their own and for subsequent generations. And earlier Kabbalists expressed all this in the form of various stories and legends.
Comment: Indeed, the Ari and Baal HaSulam have a completely different language. We read The Study of the Ten Sefirot as some kind of physics. And there was no such thing before.
My Response: Yes, it was different before, but the same thing was stated.

The entire substance that is attributed to the emanated being is the will to receive. Any addition in it is attributed to the Emanator (Baal HaSulam, The Study of the Ten Sefirot, Inner Observation, Chapter 10).
Everything we observe, see, and feel in this world is attributed to the Creator, except the will to receive. The Creator has no will to receive, but He controls it.
Comment: It turns out that we are not inside Him. But you say sometimes that we are in the Creator, in nature.
My Response: It depends on how you explain it and how to accept it. But in general, on the one hand, we are outside the Creator, and on the other hand, inside Him.
Question: He created the will to receive, which does not exist in Him, but He controls it. Where is this desire? In what place?
Answer: There is no place. A place is a desire.

Question: In your opinion which work is more successful: when a person is already in the system of attainment or when he is just entering it?
Answer: In principle, anyone can write. But a Kabbalistic work can be written by a person who feels the upper world, who realizes, understands, and feels the action of the light, the Creator, on himself according to the changes that it causes in him. He goes toward the light, and the light acts on him accordingly.
The wisdom of Kabbalah describes only these phenomena, which, in general, consist of two components: a person and the Creator, a person and the light. There is nothing else.
Comment: But you wrote your first book as a complete beginner in this system.
My Response: Yes, these are the first three books in Russian. I published them in 1983. Then, of course, I was a beginner. I was completely attached to my teacher Rabash and this helped me get some insight from him and sanctification with a big smooth light emanating from him. Therefore, what I have stated in these books is indeed true. Moreover, in general, I simply recounted some of the main positions of Kabbalah, the very basics.
Comment: You also wrote the book Attaining the Worlds Beyond at that time. After that, you wrote seemingly more complex or easy to understand books, but it was never anything so sensorial. It still works very well.
My Response: I wrote Attaining the Worlds Beyond in ten days. It just popped out like that and that is it. As I have already said, the material accumulates internally, accumulates more, and then splashes out. Nine months you bear it and in a couple of hours you give birth.

Comment: You often give the example of Rabbi Yossi ben Kisma, who was offered the chance to leave his disciples, but he refused because for him the disciples were like a spiritual simulator.
My Response: Rabbi Yossi ben Kisma felt his disciples internally. He did not see their external qualities, not the way we see ourselves and the world, but he saw through several layers inside. After all, we are all in a completely corrected state, and we are only separated from it by 125 concealments, as if by shells.
This is how we feel—everyone through the maximum shell on which he is standing now.
Rabbi Yossi tried to go through all these shells and see their inner essence. This is how he discovered their completely corrected state and saw them as one, great, and united.
He communicated precisely with this state and not with an external group. For him this group was like a single whole, something sacred, something that existed in the corrected state.

Once during Sukkot, the entire group was in a very good state and I asked my teacher Rabash what else were we lacking in order to jump right now to a special degree, which already is a spiritual one. He answered: “We are lacking an attack. We need an attack from your side.”
An attack is a cry of the heart. Everyone connects in one heart and together we ask, demand, shout, and beg for one thing: we want to rise up and cling to the Creator. It does not matter whether it is men or women, the main thing is to cry together from the bottom of the heart and address one Creator.
We only need to strengthen our connection so that it becomes even more powerful and strong, where everyone clings to the friends with all his might and holds on to them. Then we will definitely feel ourselves in a spiritual ascent. The Creator has placed us in a good state; we just need to connect more.

Pesach (Passover) is the biggest holiday for Kabbalists because it represents an exit from our egoism, from the will to receive pleasure, from the state of separation from the Creator, and from distance from our friends.
Passover is the beginning of the spiritual path, when we break away from the pincers of egoism that suffocate us and do not allow us to breathe.
Therefore we want to escape from such egoism in order to move toward connection between us and to restore the common Kli of Adam HaRishon, one common soul, in order to feel in it one spiritual world, one light, one Creator, and all of us together as one.
This is why this holiday is so important. There is no more important holiday than Passover. “Pesach” means “leap” (pasach). When we make a leap, we move from a state of egoistic reception to altruistic bestowal.
When we exit from our egoism, the will to receive, and this earthly nature that is artificially created by the Creator, it is really a great holiday. A fascinating journey into spirituality begins with it.
A person should feel that he needs a spiritual Kli, that he wants to contain all the parts of the soul so that they fill all his inner desire, and all his thoughts and aspirations would be only about the point of connection with the Creator. If he has reached such a state, it means that he has already prepared himself for exodus from Egypt.
Without a sense of exile, it is impossible to reach redemption. After all, the advantage of light is revealed only from darkness. Therefore, if the Creator wants to lead us to bestowal, to a state of being equal to the Creator, He is forced to lead us through exile.
The difference between exile (Galut) and redemption (Geula) is only in one letter “Aleph” – א, meaning the Creator. When the Creator begins to appear in our life, exile turns into redemption.

Question: We know that the structure of our world is atoms. They consist of nuclei, nuclei of protons, neutrons, and electrons. And what is the structure of spiritual matter?
Answer: Spiritual matter is desire.
Question: What does it consist of?
Answer: Desire exists by itself. It was created by the Creator, and therefore, there are no more questions about what it is. It is the very desire that exists in nature, and all nature consists of it.
Moreover, this desire is only to be satisfied, to enjoy, to receive, to be filled with something that is outside of it. And besides, there is a desire to give, to saturate, to fill. Everything that exists consists of these two desires.

Question: Why was English chosen as the language of international communication?
Answer: At one time England fought with Germany for the spread of influence on the American territory, and such prerequisites were created that the German language was supposed to prevail. As a result, today we would have seen the whole world speaking German.
But the upper management took such a turn that the world went along the English branch of culture, although it is not far from the German one. It is just more open, less closed.
The Germans wanted to enslave everyone by force, and the British, basically, planted their own culture, their own language, and therefore, they spread in a completely different way. The Germans did not have a goal to discover new lands and settle there. Their goal was only to enslave and crush.
And the English attitude to the world, to the discovery of new lands, was more preferable and softer, and therefore it prevailed. As a result, English is closer to being corrected as an international language than German.
And where is the German language used except for Germany itself and some countries around it? Nowhere. And this despite the fact that German culture has always prevailed in Europe. English, Austrian, and Hungarian kings were from Germany. In the end, these are all Germanic peoples.
Previously, there were a lot of all kinds of Germanic tribes that united not so long ago. But today it doesn’t matter anymore.
Question: What is the next, correct way to merge?
Answer: Now there will no longer be a path of unity across peoples, nationalities, and languages. The next path is a general forced unification, from which we cannot escape.
And Kabbalah will spread spiritually as a spiritual culture. People will be drawn to it no matter where they are because, due to their inner need, they will feel that they need it.
