New Life 294 – Group Emotion

How do we build a group in which its members feel as if they are a single body? What are the necessary conditions for its existence? What are the unique activities that are said to be implemented in it?

Whether the intention of a group is to create harmony, as in a philharmonic orchestra, or to promote personal excellence, as in a sports team, a group whose members are connected “as one person with one heart” will be invincible.

A complete creation means that in spite of differences between the instruments, sounds, and people, they develop a uniform creation. The audience is also part of the game.

Two groups can create harmony between opposites. It is like what happens between a man and a woman. We don’t destroy or blur the gap between us; instead we cover it over with love. Spiritual harmony means that we work toward building a warm connection between us to become one. We begin from the end: Our goal is to reach a state in which we feel each other with our eyes closed. The connection between us is built above rejection, arguments, and criticism. We swallow every eruption. This restraint, the effort to close the internal badness, leads us to feel that we are one.

For example, what actions might we take to develop integral perception on a soccer team? Every meeting between the players begins from a connection workshop: How can we feel that we are one? We interact with each other warmly; we try to help and give support like the individual organs in a single body. In training, we play with one team against another team. We try to create harmony between the two teams, between opposites. If I am irritated by someone during the game, I try to swallow my rage and go on as usual. After the game we will talk about what happened. In the meantime, I tell myself that there must have been a misunderstanding.

In conclusion, when connection is made above separation, suddenly everyone is an angel. “Love covers all transgressions” (Proverbs 10:12)

Michael Laitman, On Quora: “What would you do if you have a lot of influence in the world?“

We each have a lot of influence in the world at every moment.

It is not as some people think, that our influence is only every few years when we have the chance to vote for our respective governments. On the contrary, our impact reverberates throughout our societies, touching those in close proximity—such as our families, friends and acquaintances—as well as those distant, including people we might never cross paths with, even spanning different corners of the globe.

We bring about great changes in nature. Likewise, due to nature’s integrality as a globally interconnected and interdependent system, which is balanced to begin with, it suffers when we cause imbalance to nature. We then feel the imbalance we cause through the myriad problems and crises we experience in our lives. In other words, what we feel in our lives is nature’s positive or negative response to our positive or negative influence upon it.

Question: Now, we are returning to physical interaction from interacting virtually. What is the point of striving for the new? What is our addition? What should we focus on?

Answer: We want to be connected by the force of the Creator so He will manifest between us, so we can feel that we are holding on to Him, and through Him, on to all our friends. Previously, in our work, it was necessary to hold on to friends, and now you will hold on to the Creator in order to hold on to friends.

I hope that soon all the problems in Europe will resolve, we will be freer to move, and we will be able to organize all kinds of congresses again. I hope it will be soon.

At the end of all the gates, He made a gate with several locks. This last gate is the first gate for the upper Hochma [wisdom] (Introduction of The Book of Zohar, “Two Points”).

Once a person has made the initial corrections, he comes to the gate where he reveals the essence of his connection with the Creator. Then he begins to attain his nature, the nature of the Creator, and the connection between them.

Here the law of equivalence of qualities is triggered. The Creator is the quality of bestowal, the quality of unity that connects all systems in nature. If people unite with each other, they thus acquire similar qualities and thereby open the gates to the attainment of the Creator.

There is no other opportunity in our world for the qualities of unity and bestowal to be manifested besides in the connection between people.

We should thoroughly understand the meaning of locks, openings, and halls. Know that they are three forms that come one after the other over a single substance (Introduction of The Book of Zohar, “Two Points”).

When a person moves closer to the Creator, he acquires His qualities, and by gradually adapting to them, reveals within himself such inner qualities as new knowledge, new desires, and new opportunities. In them, he receives the qualities of the Creator.

The thought cannot perceive Him whatsoever. Hence, He made many gates one atop the other, by which He made it possible to approach Him (Introduction of The Book of Zohar, “Two Points”).

Gates mean the gates of attainment through which we can approach the Creator as we begin to understand Him and interact with Him.

Therefore, when the gates open, a person enters the next revelation of the Creator, then the next one, and so on.

One opens them by coming closer to the Creator and passing through them to the next state in which a person must also make required corrections, thereby causing the opening of the next gate.

Question: When artificial intelligence is created, it is trained on trillions of parameters, literally on everything that humanity has created during its short existence by cosmic standards. There are no other options. But everything created by people did not really work for their benefit. Then how can the correct information be uploaded; how can we educate it correctly and give correct examples? Where can we take them from if the entire set of examples that exists in the human world is negative?

Answer: We do nоt care if the results are positive or negative. The main thing for us is that we can agree that they are like this. That is, on all the examples that are given to humanity, I can learn both good and bad.

But, in principle, we are talking about the fulfillment of two conditions. The first condition is to act for the benefit of all mankind, second is to not cause irreparable harm to nature.

Therefore, everything that is loaded into a person is evaluated only based on these two principles, and on this basis, a conclusion is made whether to use this example or not.

Question: During the Coronavirus epidemic we were forced to switch to virtual interaction. We are now trying to get back to physical meetings and have a hard time meeting once a week. What do such meetings add to us, and is it worth striving for them?

Answer: We start our path in our world and so we must continue it. There can be no other opinions here. We must come together in ever larger groups according to the strength, quantity, and quality of the unity.

We are obliged to draw closer to each other; this is the program of creation. In other words, we must feel the yearning to unite hearts and inner desires. Although we do not have any natural inclinations for this, we are obligated to do it.

We must return the whole world, everything that exists in the universe, to a single desire that would want to be together in its inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human manifestations. This is what we are moving toward now. We are at a turning point, at a pass.

We need to understand this well, think about it, and evaluate it considering the entire history of humanity, everything that happens to us, as necessary actions for our correction. We have to think and talk about it, feel it, and that is how we should act and advance.

Do not worry. We are moving forward. We will still have to unite to the extent that we will no longer feel the difference between us until all our bodies and all of corporeality begin to disappear from our sensations.
