New Life 960 – Zionism Then And Now
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

The Dreyfus Trial was the event that prepared the ground for the establishment of the Zionist movement. Jews wanted to escape from the anti-Semitic pressure and pogroms they had suffered in the Diaspora, and Israel was established as a result. The ideology of the Kibbutzim and Moshavot was unclear and capitalism subsequently developed. The true State of Israel cannot be built apart from the principle of “Love your neighbor as yourself.” As long as this rule fails to be realized, Jews will continue being hated because it is their role to provide an example of a corrected relationship to the world.
